As a native Hoosier, I mourn today. I may not always have agreed with O'Bannon, but he had the best interests of Indiana at heart always.
Requiescat in pace.

It's people like you, Anonymous, who will make beating the Bush / Cheney ticket and any other Republican we can get our hands on to be the ultimate in joy, pleasure, and pure visceral satisfaction.
Hey, Mustang, what did garden rakes ever do to you? I'm sure you meant to say "pickaxe."

"That said, go fuck yourself with a garden rake." from "Mustang Bobby"
Hey, 'Stang, ol' sport -- if you're counting on getting your orgasms from a Bush defeat in the next election, you may as well keep beating off, as that's the only way you'll get any satisfaction, FUCKFACE.
Tell me what Bush has accomplished that has done anyone any good.

Ah, Homer, the blithering idiot.
O'Bannon was my Governor. He was a decent bloke, just about everyone here thought he was OK, Dem and GOP. And Dems (and Greens) here like Dick Lugar. I'm sorry to see O'Bannon die cut off like this.
We also have our idiots, of course.

You missed out post number 4 in your little gripe there Homer; Tut, tut.
But that's not what's really important... I know "No beer and no TV make Homer go crazy", but alcohol causes pregnancy! You drink, you end up with children... It's just 2 steps from Budweiser to babies! And whilst you may think I've ignored an important step in there somewhere, as someone with 3 children already, I really don't think you want to be taking any risks, do you? Especially with the risk of creating another man carrying your dreaded Simpson stupidity gene... so for the love of Springfield, stay off the sauce Homer!

Rest in peace, governor. So many good ones leaving us lately...
The Almighty can't stand to have them living in these wretched times?

What is it with Democrats dying in hotel rooms?
Oh well... O'Bannon seemed like a decent honest guy. He was part of the Democratic resurgance in the Midwest which endeared him to me even though I knew little of his politics.
I hope his family is OK and that the state of Indiana finds someone suitable to take the wheel.

Well, Anon, to bring it down to your level: I know you are, but what am I?
I live in Indiana and this is very sad. He was a very good decent man.

Yeah, I was kinda shocked to hear the news. All week the locals were reporting he was on the upswing.
My heart goes out to the family.

Frank O'Bannon was a sweet, good, kind, dedicated, well loved public servant. He and his wife Judy were two of the most down-to-earth people on the planet. He loved his country, he loved our state, and his stewardship will have played a major roll in bringing Indiana back into the Democratic fold at the national level, if not in 04'....then in 08. All of our major cities have Democratic mayors. We've had a Democratic governor for more than 13 years. It will happen and it just may be this year.
Good luck, Governor Kernan....and please bring us home. We hold you and Maggie in our hearts.

On the upside, this gives Dep Gov. Joe Kernan the incumbent advantage over candidate Mitch Daniels, the IPALCO fraudster, champion of privatization, and Bush Administration third-stringer.
