I'MMA LET YOU FINISH

I emailed CNN urging them to pick up the story as well.

http://www.cnn.com/feedback/

don't go messing around with spies.

You might want to click on the TOP rated stories... then vote 1's for them to bring them down.

excellent idea es. We have to bring Dr. Phil down for certain.

Yeah, he was my *first* victim.

GravatarAtrios bade me vote, and I obey.

GravatarJeebus, Dr. Phil's plan for weight loss is in the Top 10, and Spygate isn't?

GravatarUpdates every 10 minutes. Waiting to see more than 79 votes on Dr.Phil...

Gravatarmy god--did you see the top-rated stories.

we're doomed.

(don't worry, i'll feel much better after my cocktails later.)

GravatarYay! Phil is off. The rest are gonna be hard since they have thousands of votes....

GravatarShoeshine man puff piece is the next target. 50 "1" votes should take that down off the board.

GravatarIt's coming down. Oh, and it's cookie based, by the way. Not that I'm suggesting we should delete cookies, re-enter the site, and re-vote or anything....

GravatarThe problem with other outlets picking this up is MSNBC is labelling it an "exclusive," which means, for example, CNN would have to credit MSNBC with breaking the story.

GravatarCIA Seeks Probe of White House now on the list at #7!

GravatarHey, this is fun, I voted twice.

GravatarNow it's at #2. Mmm, electronic manipulation of polls. This must be how Diebold feels.

GravatarJuan,

This is not electing anyone to office. It's screaming loudly, electronically, so the media will wake up and do it's freakin' job.

Or, would you prefer that Google and Yahoo and USA Today lead the news with "Shoe Shiner donates $95,000 in tips to local hospital" doesn't that make you feel all warm inside, and the economy must be doing great if such a story is possible. Wow, GWB is such a benevolent and glorious leader.

GravatarEh, I'm just saying that if I was a Christian Reconstructionist Republican Diebold employee (or something along those lines) I would experience a similar sense of pleasure/power when I helped keep one of them evil libruls out of office.

GravatarMisunderstood your tone, sorry!

Let's hope that doesn't happen.

GravatarThis must be how Diebold feels.

Don't worry, I'll be activitating our sleeper agents in the company soon...

GravatarT voted down all the other stories. This is the story.
Where's the contemporary Woodward/Bernstein to go after this. If you were a young reporter in Washington, wouldn't you want Brad Pitt to immortalize you? Or given 30 years progress, perhaps Julia Roberts.

GravatarI emailed CNN urging them to pick up the story as well.

It's not a 'Top Story' on the CNN cover page. Simply stunning.

Hopefully this is only the first of many investigations requested. I'm sure Ashcroft will put his best people on the job.

Gravatar"Now it's at #2. Mmm, electronic manipulation of polls. This must be how Diebold feels.
Juan Hashcrops"

So good, it had to be repeated.

GravatarWith Ashcroft running the investigation I'm sure they'll get to the bottom of it. If there's anyone at the WH ashcroft doesn't like he can use them as the scapegoat.

GravatarAnd when you'e finished, go to the other top-10 stories and rate them DOWN. The stories are ranked by average score, not by number of votes!

Thanks for the tip. If I were to write a hypothetical poll-altering program, I'd certainly make sure I took that into consideration.

Hypothetically.

Again, thanks.

GravatarIt's amazing! "CIA seeks probe of White House" has just soared to the #1 slot!

Gravatari love to vote

Gravatar#1-behold the power of Atrios

GravatarGo back and vote on the Cheney Halliburton story while you are there. Make that #2.

GravatarTim Russert will have Condi Rice on Meet the Press tomorrow.

E-mail Meet the Press at mtp@msnbc.com and tell them to ask Condi about the CIA referral to Justice.

After all this is a stroy broken by NBC news. Meet the Press, an NBC show, is obligated to ask the administration about it.

Or maybe they only care about Clinton scandals?

GravatarCheney/Halliburton's at #5 now, but it's only got 399 votes so we can shove that bad boy off the charts fairly easily.

GravatarSorry, meant to say 'up the charts'

GravatarWhy isn't this on CNN?

Hmmmmmm...

GravatarA good way to spend a wet and windy afternoon here in Minnesota.

GravatarAs Josh Marshall as pointed out today, it's incredible that this story hasn't been picked up by the wires or any other news outlets.

I suspect there's a lot of consternation (and hopefully soul searching) for many in the media about this story. It's BIG and could permanently change the dynamics of the relationship between the mainstream media and the Bush Administration.

What's it gonna be guys?? We're waiting...

GravatarThe Friday night story was an MSNBC/NBC "Exclusive." This means that the other news orgs have to talk to their own CIA sources to put the story together or advance it in any way. Weekend working conditions aren't going help that process, but if consumers write to AP, CNN, ABC, CBS, NPR, etc., demanding coverage and details, the feedback may hurry them along.

GravatarActually, this is not how Diebold feels, this is how Diebold works.

GravatarMan, that EBay thief reveals tricks of the trade story was sure stubborn as it clung to the #2 slot.

But it finally gave way.

#1: CIA seeks probe of White House (6.46 Rating with 3393 votes)
#2: Cheney’s financial ties to Halliburton (6.27 Rating with 600 votes)
#3: EBay thief reveals tricks of the trade (6.23 Rating with 5412 votes)

GravatarCIA at #1
Cheney at #2

Punch up US Compund ing Baghdad attacked and we can rule the top 3 spots..

GravatarThe DOJ opens a preliminary probe into whether the White House illegally unmasked a CIA operative

GravatarOops, apparently Haloscan can't handle commas, either.

The DOJ opens a preliminary probe into whether the White House illegally unmasked a CIA operative

GravatarNice.

GravatarYay, somebody else finally picked up the story. A measly little version of the story, but still. I'll be e-mailing every major media outlet I can think of this weekend. Should we start wearing "Justice for Valerie" buttons or t-shirts? Or maybe just "Ask me about Valerie" so inquiring minds might ask and we can spread the word.

GravatarPlease keep this up for future stories. I didn't know you could influence the ranking. I guess I'm stupid.

GravatarHEY! What happened to the Cheneyburton story? It's not on the top 10 list anymore. Unpossible!

Gravatar"Stress - its all in your head."
