I'MMA LET YOU FINISH

I couldn't find the "damn straight" button, so I chose "yes".

WTF? Three percent of the people chose "I don't know"?

Why would you vote in a self-selecting online poll, only to choose "I don't know"? What, is that marking that Googlebot has no opinion, or do people really think that it's important they make their non-opinion known?

There were only 168 votes a few minutes ago. There aren't enough votes to matter, yet.

Gravatar"Why would you vote in a self-selecting online poll, only to choose "I don't know"? "

Never, ever, underestimate the stupidy of your fellow Americans. What gets me is the 6% of numbskills who voted "NO" (the situation is about to turn around". That reminds me of the compulsive gambler who, despite huge losses, continues to bet because he's just about to hit big (Hello, Bill Bennett!!". My point is that, even though 93% of Americans would say, enough is enough, you'll still have the hardcore wingnuts defending Bush's non-policy in Iraq, no matter how many lives are lost.

GravatarActually, that six percent is probably just Rumsfeld, sitting in his office in a cold sweat, chain-smoking, and clicking his mouse button over and over.

Gravatarooh, MORE VOTING!
damn straight needed YES.

GravatarIt's not just Rumsfeld, clicking No, there are enough folks who would blindly support everything he does just because he's on Georgie's Team and what George chooses can't be wrong, can it??

GravatarDont' care. We have to elect a new President!

GravatarTony Blair should resign or be tossed out of office as well.

Gravatar6% of numbskills

That should be "numbskulls". Typos suck! (that'll teach me to try to type without my glasses)

Gravatar5/94/1 @1:37 Pacific
Teeheeheeheeheeeheee!

GravatarThat six percent would be the entire Board of Directors and staff at the American Enterprise Institute, well mebbe Halliburton and Bechtel thrown in.

I chose yes because they didn't have a choice for "tried for war crimes at The Hauge."

GravatarI see they're still flogging the "Hillary's really gonna run" meme...

How many hundreds of times does the woman have to say "I ain't running" till these idiots drop it already?! How could she possibly run after ruling it out categorically umpteen times? Can't Eleanor Clift get out and do a little actual reporting on actual candidates or stories? I'm sure her expense account will pay for it.

As my mother used to say: Jesus Mary & Joseph!

Gravatar4:30 EST...

375 votes:
No: 5%
Dunno: 1%
America Haters: 94 freaking %

I know a lot of votes came form you other America haters, but still, hot dig.

GravatarOnly Rumsfeld? Newsweek is looking for a way out for the Bushites.

GravatarHeh. 95 - 4 - 1

GravatarOnly Rumsfeld? Newsweek is looking for a way out for the Bushites.
em | 09.27.03 - 4:40 pm |

my first thought as well.

GravatarAs of now, 95% in favor of resigning.

Ouch!

GravatarNotice that the two options "The situation in Iraq is about to turn around" and "He should take responsibility for the Iraqi mess" imply the assumption "Iraq is a mess." And it's Newsweek. I guess that makes it official conventional wisdom now.

Notice too that "He should take responsibility for the Iraqi mess" implies that once Rumsfeld resigns, George is off the hook. It wasn't our cool president's fault, not the regular guy whom Americans just want to have a beer with, if he wasn't an alcoholic. It's those meanie advisors who messed Iraq up.

And how obnoxious is Eleanor Clifton today? Nevermind the "No Means Yes" dance with Hillary. I stop reading with this sentence: Clark is the vice president Clinton never had. Fuck you, Eleanor.

GravatarThere's also a piece, "Is the Iraq mess the press's fault?", by James Dickey IIRC. That + the Hillary piece = our liberal media.

GravatarStill 95% yes!

And note that when you get to the crunch in Eleanor's article, she admits that Hillary's not going to run. Ha! This is like tabloid newspaper marketing, the headline's point being to sucker people into reading it.

GravatarShould Rumsfeld Resign?

No. He should pull a Mishima and let us watch on CNN...

GravatarRumsfeld should choose suicide, it is the only honorable thing to do.

GravatarI see they're still flogging the "Hillary's really gonna run" meme...

How many hundreds of times does the woman have to say "I ain't running" till these idiots drop it already?!

As a woman, Eleanor Clift of all people should know that "no" means "no."

GravatarIf the French think Rumsfeldt is bad enough to be the Ace of Diamonds in their "most wanted deck," then the Dems should dutifully regurgitate it. Or better yet--off with his head, as the French used to say.

Some more whine with your frommage, mon cheris?

GravatarI voted yes, but I want him to stick around and go to the joint with his buddies. He don't have the balls to do anything honorable.

GravatarAccording to John Powers it's Cheney -- not Rummy -- who's going to get voted off the island.

GravatarDavid E - Well, they can always make Cheney's death look like a natural one.

GravatarNext poll: When will Hilary announce her candidacy?

GravatarI think that he should go on the South Beach Diet.

GravatarThat new privacy law, the one that protects Vice Presidents from the prying eyes of the public for what? fifty years or some such...You know, the retroactive one that covers Daddy's butt for the sake of Iran/Contra...Was that an Executive Order? And if that's the case, can the next President UNexecute it?

Cheney certainly puts the "Vice" in Vice President, eh? He actually makes Spiro Agnew look moral.

GravatarLets see, he helped lie us into a war that killed thousands. Resign?? What about prosecution? Also, justice demands the same for Wolfowitz and Perle. It's Sort of a second offence situation for Perle since in 1970 he got cuaght on an NSA wire tap giving classified information to the Israeli government while he was working for Senator "Scoop" Jackson.

Gravataralmost 2,000 votes in, and ~95% say he should go....gee, I wonder if he reads Newsweek...we can only hope!!

GravatarI say there's a combat patrol with the 3 ID waiting for his ass. No trial, no courts, just driving a hummer with an M-16. Maybe a National Guard unit might be better.

As one 3 ID soldier said about Bush "he likes war so much, let him spend two nights in Baghdad"

Or maybe he can join the patrols of the 1/22 of the 4 ID. Resign is too honorable for him.

GravatarResign?

No.

He should be fired.

From a cannon.

Into the sun.

GravatarAnyone who resigns from the Bush mob will just be doing it to help boost Little George's ratings. If Rumsfelt does, look for the biggest golden parachute of all times, either that or cement overshoes. Nothing, nothing that these people do is for reasons of honor or decency.

GravatarThis is a nice turn of events from that "Donald Rumsfeld: Sex Symbol" phase the media went through for a while. What the hell was that all about?
