I'MMA LET YOU FINISH

And speaking of dimbulb conservative commentators talking out of their hats, it's nice to see that David Brooks in his Saturday NYT op-ed piece has shifted his inept animadversion toward the decadence of erotic photographer Helmut Newton.

The press is preparing us all for Ronnie's paranibbana.

Some day soon you'll be in the check out and find out that a seven year old girl was cured of her deadly disease by a whizzened old angel with shockingly bad hair. She'll point to the TV during reruns of Death Valley Days and say, "That's him Mommy! That's the angel who cured me."

And just wait for Peggy Noonan's necro-pheulogy.

They're really pissed that Mr. Barbra S. is playing St. Ronnie on CBS.

Ever notice how bad the hair is at The National Review these days?

Gravatarhe offered to show you the “documentation” that there was no plan to combat al Qaeda

Is this like the inverse of the hunt for WMD? Absence of evidence is evidence of absence? I'm confused.

GravatarLowry (as do all other right wingers) looks and sounds more preposterous each day. As the W wreaking crew makes daily adjustments to their war rationale, the wingers are in a mad scramble to keep abreast of the "facts." They resemble small, unruly children chasing after a vanishing ice cream truck.

What a good comparison!

GravatarI had the same reaction as NTodd. Why would there be documentation on something that supposedly doesn't exist? A document proving another document doesn't exist is like something out a an episode of M*A*S*H*. One of the early funny ones that is.

GravatarDavid Brooks in his Saturday NYT op-ed piece has shifted his inept animadversion toward the decadence of erotic photographer Helmut Newton.

See, that's conservatives for you. No respect for almost dead erotic photographers. What, he couldn't have picked on Man Ray?

GravatarAlso from Pierce (same piece, next paragraph):

Speaking of The Legacy of bungled Middle East policy, and of being soft on terrorism, I was really touched by the anniversary pieces that everyone did on the 20th anniversary of the Marine Barracks bombing in Beirut. Of course, certain elements of the story were, ah, downplayed — most significantly, the fact that, two years later, Ollie North and the rest of the NSC’s crack Unicorn Pursuit Team began selling missiles to the people that sponsored that particular act of mass murder. They were sort of overly nice to ol’ Dutch, too, who cut and ran, the better to keep the hemisphere safe from Cuban construction workers in Grenada, and who, anyway, has enough trouble these days, what with that CBS movie and all, and Peggy Noonan still wishing she’d rubbed his feet.

RE the Beirut bombing, they (I think 100%) also forgot to mention the fact that the PLO implicitly had been protecting U.S. interests in Beirut (and surrounds) for a long time, based on work that had been done by really good Americans, including some at the Amer. Univ. there. When the PLO was 'exiled' to Tunisia, BOOM! Not long after their exit, we had the barracks' bombing, and later the U.S. Embassy. It's documented, but it's hard to find, at least for me, on the internet. But it's there.

BTW, I heard about Raygun's movie just after I heard about a similar movie about Clinton, one that's not emphasizing the great economy, if you know what I mean. Who's playing Bill? It'd be great if it was Darrell Hammonds -- just to illustrate what a joke all that shit was.

GravatarI love Pierce's wit and elegant prose style.

GravatarPierce nails it, as usual.
