I'MMA LET YOU FINISH

GravatarRight now, he's going for the democratic nomination. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to give bucks to one democrat I don't know to beat other democrats I don't know. As with Chandler, I will definitely be spreading the love and money when they are running against the thugs.

GravatarThere's a Time Magazine article located

HERE

via AOL News.

There's a Bush credibility and vunerability poll.

GravatarHere are some Detroit News polls, vote early and opften by cleaning your cookies.

http://info.detnews.com/poll/

GravatarRegarding Ann Coulter's Cleland column - first off - Cleland lost because of the Diebold Voting machines that were used for the first time that left no paper trail. He was ahead of Chmabliss by almost 10 points in polls 3 days prior to the election and then lost? Come on!

If the Dems want an electoral college strategy to win this election - just stay the hell away from any state that will be using these machines. It's ridiculous.

Do a google search for "18181" and see what you get. It will scare the crap out of you like it did me!

Happy Valentines Day.

GravatarOf the 58,000 or so US deaths in Vietnam, 10,799 were non-combat. Is Coulter saying that those deaths don't really matter, because they didn't take place in combat?

Maybe she would like to go to "The Wall" in Washington and scratch all those 10,799 names off, since she doesn't think that getting killed or wounded in a non-combat situation is anything of consequence.

Gravatarre. Time poll.

How credible is Bush?

Not at all 49%

Very 41%

Somewhat 10%

Is Bush vulnerable on the Iraq issue?

Yes, it will cost him votes in November 51%

No, he's still as electable as ever 32%

Maybe, depending on the next few months 17%

Total Votes: 451,228

So good it had to be posted.

GravatarYo, Tena, are you in?

I have some juicy Texas gossip for you.

I went to an art opening here in Austin last night and spoke to a friend of mine who works for the Legislative Budget Board.

The rumor going around the capital complex this week is that Governor Goodhair's* wife Anita has filed for divorce.

The juicy (and not so believable to me) part of it is the reason she filed: she is supposed to have caught him inflagrante delecto with a live boy.

Tatsy, tasty.

*For those of you unfamiliar with our lovely Texas politicians, Molly Ivins has dubbed Gov. Rick Perry "Governor Goodhair" because of his lush locks.

GravatarFrom Coulter's editorial:
"Bush's National Guard service is the most thoroughly investigated event since the Kennedy assassination."

Yep, more than Watergate, Iran-Contra, Monicagate and Whitewater, etc. Ann is always right.

The dingbat makes Phyllis Schlafly look sane and rational.

GravatarOoh, that is juicy gossip.

GravatarJeez, a direct link to a Coulter column. That's stooping pretty low.

Whenever I think of Crazy Ann, I'm reminded of what Jiang Qing said about her relationship with Mao: "I was his dog. Who he told me to bite, I bit."

That pretty much sums up Coulter for me. And Limbaugh. And O'Reilly. And all the rest of them.

GravatarOT, my email to Nicholas Kristof:

Dear Nicholas:

I was pretty angry that you used the plight of Thai women as an excuse to criticize women's groups in the U.S. Conservatives sure don't like it when liberals accuse them of not having their priorities straight. Furthermore, your assumption that "main" women's groups are representative of the majority of activists in this country is a little old-fashioned, to say the least. You'll have to look at the perhaps thousands of U.S. feminist affinity groups that make up what we might call today's women's movement. For instance, I'm a member of a small academic feminist affinity group. Sure, we work on 1st world intelligentsia problems like family leave policy in colleges and universities. But we also work on international issues of basic human rights, probably just as much.

In your more recent column on the dangers of being a woman in Afghanistan today after the liberation, you were rightly critical of how the U.S. has left the country and Afghan women vulnerable to violence. However, you failed to mention that some women's groups were the only American figures paying attention to the plight of women under the Taliban prior to 9/11, and that toppling the Taliban had nothing to do with that issue. It was an ancillary benefit that women were able to return to school and the streets (in theory). It's no surprise that the worsening condition for women in Afghanistan remains ignored by our leaders. It was never their priority in the first place.

Sincerely, Tomato Observer

GravatarOoh, that is juicy gossip.
Tomato Observer

And better yet, it's factesque.

For those unfamiliar with the intricacies of the Texas legislative process, the Legislative Budget Board (or LBB, the source of this rumor) is the real power in Texas government. The LBB is composed of the governor, lt. governor, speaker of the house, and president pro tem of the senate, along with a few other senior legislators they appoint.

In other words, this rumor (re: gov.'s wife filing for divorce due to catching him with a live boy) comes from the highest circles of Texas government.

If she did indeed file for divorce, there should be a public record available somewhere down the road.

GravatarDishonest Dubya - Lying Action Figure

Be sure to try the buttons!

GravatarThe dingbat makes Phyllis Schlafly look sane and rational.
TR

TR,

I've agreed with Phyllis on something else this year (I forget what) and had to check that I hadn't fallen through the dimensions into Bizarro World.

I think this Cleland column may be the one that gets Ann shunned by all but the most Hannitized winger.

I'd like to drop a frag into her life and see how shereacts.

GravatarI think this Cleland column may be the one that gets Ann shunned by all but the most Hannitized winger.

If I may be all kool kiddie for a moment, cosmic, I believe Ann jumped the shark a few months ago.

Can't remember the last time I was her on Hahdbahl.

GravatarHolden,

You could be right. The last time I saw her I gouged out my own eyes, so it's quite possible she hasn't been on TV for a while.

GravatarCan't remember the last time I was her on Hahdbahl.

So you were Coulter's body double on TV? That must have been an interesting gig.

GravatarHolden, that's some spicy gossip. Keep us posted, will ya?

I still can't believe someone allowed Coulter's column to be published. It was nothing short of vile.

GravatarI have this fantasy that someday I would be asked to participate on some kind of panel with Coulter, and I would be very public in my refusal to even be in the same room with the Wicked Witch.

(okay, some of my fantasies are really lame)

GravatarEven if I filed for divorce for something like that, I'd be unlikely to document the real reason if my spouse wanted discretion. But then, I keep expecting thugs and their wives to be decent human beings, which is another lame fantasy of mine.

GravatarCan't remember the last time I was her on Hahdbahl.

Actually, Holden seems to be confirming our long-held suspicion that Coulter is really a man.

GravatarHey, give Coulter her due.

Does Max Cleland know what it's like to feel fat, absolutely ungodly fat, so fat that you stuff yourself with your entire pantry in a fifteen-minute binge and then rush to the toilet and toss those cookies up till the water turns black? Does he? Did he have to hide the small portions he at mess in his pockets and then throw them out later?

Cleland had his whole country to support him afterwards. Poor Annie has only Ana and Mia with her.

GravatarHeh heh, it's probably b-s, but IF the Guv Goodhair rumor is true, could the live boy ins question be that good ol' boy . . . . Lite Guv Dudley Dewhurst?!?!?! Rumors abound about his gender preference, he's a handsome hunk, and they've been spending a lot of quality time together.

LOL.

GravatarAnn Coulter = Depraved, Vicious, Impure, Noxious, Villianous, Nefarious, Corrupt, Degenerate Cunt. Why don't you put on some fatigues and go to Fallujah you bitch!

Gravatar"Actually, Holden seems to be confirming our long-held suspicion that Coulter is really a man.
Richard Substance"

No, what we've discovered so far is that Ann Coulter is a pitt-viper with silicon implants who has peanut-butter pussy.

Gravatarpeanut-butter pussy

what's a peanut-butter pussy? is it a good thing? I've always been kind of turned on by the idea of her having a penis.

Gravatar"Bush's National Guard service is the most thoroughly investigated event since the Kennedy assassination."

Yep, more than Watergate, Iran-Contra, Monicagate and Whitewater, etc.

Well to be fair, Iran-Contra wasn't that thouroughly investigated, and Monicagate and Whitewater weren't really so much 'events' and 'manufactured media circuses'. Ok, she forgot Watergate, but she's not the only Republican who seems to have blocked out that event.

Gravatar12:41 is me.

Gravatar"Ann Coulter = Depraved, Vicious, Impure, Noxious, Villianous, Nefarious, Corrupt, Degenerate Cunt. Why don't you put on some fatigues and go to Fallujah you bitch!

Gen. George Washington

Dear Mr. President,

Fatigues? Are you assuming she'd fight for the Americans?

GravatarGen. Washington, I believe today's Army refers to them not as fatigues but as BDUs (Battle Dress Units).

Don't you just love military jargon?

GravatarI think Coulter has some deep-seeded problems. Doesn't she have a mongoloid child? Doesn't Drudge have AIDS? Get it?

GravatarSome GOPers like to block out Watergate. It's just too painful for them to remember.

Yes, Coulter is a bitch. What else is new? The scary thing is that she actually believes the crap she spews out. I doubt Hannity, Rush, O'Reilly and the rest of the conservative filth-mongerers believe half the stuff they say and just spew it to get ratings. Coulter actually believes her crap and that makes her both scary and pathetic.

Hadn't heard that rumor about Perry. Given the false rumors about Kerry these past couple days, I'm taking it with a grain of salt right now. If it's true, kiss any chance of him getting reelected in 2006 goodbye. Another Bush lacky bites the dust.

GravatarI think Drudge has AIDS from being fucked in the ass without a condom and blames the entire gay community now.

Hey, Matt, use some protection, there. Too late, huh.

Gravatari think Max deserves 15 minutes alone with annthrax.

GravatarSomeone mentioned on an earlier thread that Fox scolded the Center for American Progress for referring to her as a "Fox News contributor". Just when did Fox start distancing itself from its stable of mouth-frothers? This may be the final straw for crazy Annie. She has made a career out of saying outrageous things but trashing a disabled veteran who won the Silver and Bronze Star may be too much even for the phony flag-pin wearing patriots of Fox.

GravatarSince our ad was posted this morning, our mailbox has been filling up with your contributions. Thank you!

With the support of Democrats like you, from all over the country, we will win this seat and restore Democratic principles to Georgia's 12th district. You guys' support has been incredible. Let's keep it going.

Thanks again.

Roman Levit
Campaign Manager
Barrow for Congress

PS. I have forwarded a link to both the main and comments page to Senator Cleland. He will want to see this.

GravatarIf Matt is gay, will one of his former partners come forward? Please?

I would think some proud gay patriot would be willing to out Fudge. Otherwise its just too damn good to be true.

What happened to ACTUP? I know their focus was AIDS, but given what is going on with the Right, you'd think they would be getting ready to launch a massive Outing Campaign.

GravatarWhen do we get to start talking about this:

MARCH 20th: The World Still Says No to War!
MOMENTUM BUILDS FOR GLOBAL DAY OF ACTION
-------------------------------------------
Momentum is building across the globe for the Global Day of Action against War and Occupation on March 20, the one-year anniversary of the U.S. bombing and invasion of Iraq.

GravatarMy Ann fantasy is that the next time she speaks in public (Like in front of the Boy Scouts ) she gets pelted by a shower of veterans' medals and ribbons.

Boy would I pay cash money to see that.

That link, by the way, is http://tinyurl.com/pjlh

GravatarI urge everyone to send this vile column to the following email addresses:

Disabled American Veterans:

DAVCharity@aol.com

Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation:

media@vi.org

VVA:

communications@vva.org

GravatarIf I was Cleland, I would hold a press conference, and publicly thank Coulter for showing America the true face of The modern Republican Party.

" My friends, forget Bush with a halo over his head, or talking with Jesus, Ann Coulter has shown the real face of the far right. It is the same disturbed outlook that leads Republicans to leak the the name of a C.I.A officer. Or break into the Democrats computers, or gerrymader the districts in TEXAS."

Force the thugs to come to her defence and see how many do.

GravatarAnnthrax Coulter has been out of her mind for years.

It is a measure of how corrupt and debased that we have become as a society that a gutless, lying shrew such as she can be celebrated or even considered a "political commentator" with something of value to say.

I suspect that she suffers from degenerative tertiary syphilis which she probably contracted from Richard Mellon Scaife back in the days when he was paying her for it.

Gravatar"If I was Cleland, I would hold a press conference, and publicly thank Coulter for showing America the true face of The modern Republican Party."

He would probably love to, except for the fact that the odds are he really did drop that grenade on his foot. Soldiers who spent his time in Vietnam did NOT go around picking up grenades or anything else they just happened to see lying on the ground.

GravatarWhen do we get to start talking about this:

MARCH 20th: The World Still Says No to War!
MOMENTUM BUILDS FOR GLOBAL DAY OF ACTION

I intend to be there, Anon. My sign will read simply "We Were Right".

Gravataritalics begone.

GravatarWell, nobody seems to be talking about John Barrow in this here John Barrow thread, so I'll chime in.

I don't know about the guy, but one of his endorsers is Gwen O'Looney, the former mayor of Athens, Ga. I met Ms. O'Looney a few years back when I was invited to breakfast by an editor I'd written for who had worked on Ms. O'Looney's campaign.

She rocks the house! She was smart and funny and engaging, and she was interested in everyone at the table, asking questions about what they did, what they thought. I left thinking, "When I grow up, I wanna be just like her."

If Ms. O'Looney thinks highly enough of Mr. Barrow to endorse him, that's good enough for me!

GravatarTena-you are doing great! Attila you are a complete asswipe...or the perfect CIB holder...I'm pretty sure it's ASSWIPE, though....basicbill

GravatarDo the words "honor" and "Ann Coulter" belong in the same sentence?

GravatarPosted this elsewhere - decided it belonged here.

When I first saw Ann "Her Vagina Had Teeth!!" C. on T/V a few years ago I was sure that she'd be toast - all she spouted was teen-age, trash-mouth nonesense (no offense to teens - many grow up). When she got even more "popular" and then when her blonde-maned spawn began filling the airwaves I knew I'd enetered another universe. Even cancelling cable didn't get me back home. Still surrounded. New universe so backward.

Her (and the previous Bush campaign's) attack on Max sends shivers down my back. I am sure - ABSOLUTELY SURE - that this is the same evil fleshbag that has cursed everyone with leanings slightly left of Attila the Hun and/or that may have uttered any criticism of the military in any way whatsoever (Traitors! Treason! Liberals!). And the so-called right just cheers!

That these blood-spewing, sub-human hacks (and supposed conservatives - why don't the cons open their friggin' mouths???? Oh wait, I think I know) continue to take both sides of the road and get away with it just BLOWS MY FUCKING MIND!!! Anything to advance the hate.

Feel better now....is it time to walk toward the blast? Do you suppose she feeds off this kind of negative crap?

GravatarAs for tracking down any of Matt Drudge's former lovers...why on earth would somebody admit to having sex with HIM?

GravatarYeah, but I really have mixed feelings about these Democrats agressively seeking out of state campaign contributions. On the one hand, of course I want the ratio of Democrats to Republicans in the House and Senate to be high, but Zell Miller is a perfect example where having that 'D' next to your name doesn't mean squat. So what the hell do I know about the 12th district to play any role in helping them decide who should represent them?

Also, I haven't heard any candidate for Congress say this, but this escalation in campaign fundraising has GOT to stop. No one is saying, "yeah...I need your money...but this is the last time. Once I'm in there the system will be permanently changed so that the way I'm currently raising all this dough will no longer be allowed. We need to make sure that the voice of people who can't afford to donate to camapigns is not shouted over by those with money." With out of control fundraising, the only one that wins are the big corporate media conglomerates.

It is pretty obvious, that unless a candidate is ENTIRELY all hype and no substance, that amount raised is a VERY strong indication of how they do in the polls, issues be damed.

GravatarJohn Barrow is an *excellent* candidate, and I'm delighted that I'll actually be able to vote for him if he's the Dem candidate in my district in the fall...

BUT, as Tomato Observer suggests above, supporting Barrow at this point is a little different than supporting Chandler in KY, since there are a number of other fine Dem candidates still in the running for that GA seat, which means that we Eschatoids are, in effect, endorsing Barrow over other Dems in that race principally because he advertises on Atrios and has a strong web-presence.

While I don't at all want to discourage you from donating to Barrow, you might also want to check out Doug Haines (http://www.hainesforcongress.com/), who has done remarkable work as an environmental public interest lawyer and who was a terrific state senator until he has swamped by the same GA Republican electoral wave that swept Cleland out of office. Haines is a good man who has fought valiantly and effectively in the GA legislative trenches, and deserves serious consideration and support. With Haines or Barrow as our candidate, after a healthy and competitive Dem primary, we'll have a great shot at dumping the useless corporate crony Max Burns.

GravatarWhat's Max got to do with this? I suppose it might be logical to assume he might endorse the nominee, but has he endorsed one of these Democratic candidates?

GravatarThe rumor going around the capital complex this week is that Governor Goodhair's* wife Anita has filed for divorce.

Are you freaking kidding? I will check my sources and pray to god it's true.

Goodhair is one of the more repulsive rethugs walking the earth these days. How sweet would this be!!

GravatarCoulter is slime. Too bad we can't drop her in the middle of bagdad and let her fend for herself. Bitch.

GravatarCoulter should be shipped off the planet. Biohazard warnings mandatory.

GravatarPEOPLE... you're supposed to link to this page when you mention Ann Coulter:
http://kidshealth.org/kid/talk/ q...dams_apple.html

always link her name to this web page... that way googling Ann Coulter will lead to information about adam's apples...

GravatarAaah Must have been comments without mentioning umm...what started this thread. Peace and quiet. ain't It grand.

GravatarWhat's Max got to do with this? I suppose it might be logical to assume he might endorse the nominee, but has he endorsed one of these Democratic candidates?
Anonymous

Imagine what it would look like if Kerry got him to run for VP? Can you imagine Bush and Cheney and the rest of the chickenhawks would look like compared to them? They're trying to scare him off. And it will back fire spectacularly. Ann Coulter is digging her grave with her chablis oiled tongue. Boycott anyone who puts her on.

GravatarBarrow Buyers Beware!!

Take a close look at this guy before you open your wallet. I live in Athens and Barrow is part of the problem found in politics today: Politicains whose mantra is "Show Me the Money!"

Gravatar"If Matt is gay, will one of his former partners come forward? Please?

I would think some proud gay patriot would be willing to out Fudge."

He has been outed, by the guy that wrote the book "Blinded By The Right" and others have also outed him. He's definitely gay (as much as we'd like to disavow him, and Sully of course).

GravatarWhy do triple amputee war veterans hate america??

GravatarI'm declaring Max Clelands missing limbs bogus

GravatarBoy! you Liberals are filled with hate. When somebldy like Ann Coulter tells the truth you all go crazy.

Yee shall know the truth and the truth shall make you MAD.
