I'MMA LET YOU FINISH

It doesn't work. I typed my name in and came up with nothing.

Wow that is great.

Now I know which neighbors are fascist.

I might knock some mailboxes over tonight!

.

GravatarAre these results real? Are people who donated to Kerry this week finding themselves here? Is is legal?

GravatarFor an extra $4.95, you can turn a neighbor in to the INS.

GravatarTons of GOP in Malibu!

Guess Mel's not the only regressive up there.

GravatarINF: It doesn't work. I typed my name in and came up with nothing.

Did you contribute more than $200 to any campaign by the end of 2003?
.

GravatarI live in a hotbed of Deanism!

GravatarI am surrounded by corporate tools who donated to Bush and Suburban Jews who donated to "Joe!"

(not being snotty here--I live in a very Jewish neighborhood and they really like Joe)

GravatarPlenty of future tar and feathering targets in my neck of the woods. Lots of 2k supporters of the fratboy coward.

Gravatarmmmm... stalking.

GravatarGeorge H. W. Bush nicely downplayed his profession: retired instead of ex-president. He donated 2000 bucks like Chimps mommy.
Ben Affleck has been throwing money around. 2000$ for Wesley and 1000$ Dennis K.

Gravatari hesitate to ask:
what's next?

-learn if your neighbor is a practicing catholic!
-what magazines do your neighbors read?
-which of your neighbors has the largest credit card debt?
-who belonged to the democratic party when they were young?

GravatarHoly shit.

I'm in there.

GravatarI am surrounded by corporate tools who donated to Bush and Suburban Jews who donated to "Joe!"

(not being snotty here--I live in a very Jewish neighborhood and they really like Joe)

---------------------------------

I'm the only person in my community to contribute to Howard Dean...I live in an pre-dominantly Hassidic Jewish area and I'd say it's about 60% Bush, 39.9% Lieberman...and .1% Dean (me).

I didn't know my neighbors were such assholes...oh wait, yes I did!

GravatarOkay, I'm frightened.

Though I think I single-handedly turned my county lime green on the Clark map.

Not happy that my address and occupation are broadcast all over the net, though. Well, besides on Monster.com....

GravatarOh man, this is depressing. My whole state is pink.

Embarrassed our president is from Texas.

GravatarI searched 6 pages, everyone within 2 miles of my house, and there were only 3 people who had given to Bush! This is inded paradise.

If you read carefully, it is contributions through Dec 31, 2003, which is the last reporting period. The next one ends 3/31, and results will presumably be available some time after that.

GravatarWait a goldang minute there....

How come by street is full of "self-employeed" people who gave the maximum to George Bush.

I see "self employeed" or "students" giving $50 to Howard Dean, and on the other side... $2000.... $2000... $2000.

How many self employeed contract workers can give $2K?

Campaign finance laundering!

GravatarGavin Newsom...2000 to Kerry. Good neighbor, too.

GravatarGavin Newsom...2000 to Kerry. Good neighbor, too.

Gravatarmy first double post...i feel so dirty.

GravatarOn the other hand, this will be a useful tool for figuring out which Republicans are giving to Nader...

GravatarGuess I just managed to squeak in under the limit so avoided publication. I'll be checking this site again before I move into a new neighborhood though. Wow.

Gravatarsoon in theatres: I Know Who You Gave Money to Last Summer.

This is fun. I may spend all weekend doing this. Too bad I don't know more people in the US.

Pro golfer Davis Love: $2000 to the chimp. suck on your putter, jerk.

GravatarI started punching in a bunch of celebrity names last night when I couldn't sleep... Ben Affleck gave a few thou to Kucinich and Wesley Clark. J-Lo? Nada to nobody. Joss Whedon gave two thou to Clark. Susan Sarandon, two thou to Dean...

Incredible time waster. Very fun.

GravatarI live on a big hill (or maybe it's a small mountain).

The slope is like an income graph.

Up the hill are VERY big houses

The bottom of the hill has a rehab center and a halfway house.

No surprise in the lower 50%, lotsa Gephardt (lotsa union members) and a nice amount of Edwards and Dean.

Uphill, yeah, there's a buncha $2000 GOP donors. But wow! Kerry, Edwards, Joe, Dean, Clark, Graham, Gephardt all over the place!

Good for them!

And having this public is fukken creepy.

GravatarWELLLLLLL LOOKEE HERE!

It's Karl Rove's home address!

4925 Weaver Terrace NW
Washington, D.C.

GravatarWilliam Gates, CEO Microsoft, gave $2k to Bush. Heh. Shocker.

GravatarMary Cheney coughed up an $850 hairball for her dad's re-election.

GravatarWow, most of my neighbors gave to Dean. I guess that's why he won Vermont. I was completely unsurprised to see who gave to Bush.

GravatarThe numbers aren't entirely accurate; I'm listed only under a former address, not my current one; only $60 of my giving shows, and I know I gave more than that by December 31. And my cousin, who's been at the same address for a few years now, doesn't show up at all, even though she gave last year. So wherever they're getting the data, it's incomplete.

GravatarA lot of the celebrities in the Los Angeles area all list the same address, so the one you have for Karl isn't necessarily his home address.

GravatarLooking up celebrities is fun. Larry and Laurie David gave money to a bunch of people. Jerry Seinfeld too. Anyone find a celebrity (Bill Gates doesn't count) that donated to Bush?

Reminded me how paying high rent while not being able to find a job can feel so good.

GravatarA lot of the celebrities in the Los Angeles area all list the same address, so the one you have for Karl isn't necessarily his home address.

I'm going to head over there with a flaming bag of dog shit and find out.

GravatarI had no idea there were so many Democrats in my neighborhood - lots of Dean and lots and lots of John Edwards contributors. I feel so much better now. I knew this was a pretty liberal part of town, but I really had no idea that there were that many - I'm sure glad you posted the link to this map. I suddenly feel much better and much less as though I'm in hostile territory and surrounded. There are a fair number of Bush contributors, but not as many as I expected. Alright!

GravatarSurrounded by Deanies...

Amazing this informationis online

GravatarKelsey! Tough luck on your show ending and NBC completely dissin' it in favor of setting up a Wailing Wall for "Friends."

boo. hoo.

Gravatar*WHOA*

that is both the coolest and the scariest link ever. on the upside, like tena i was pleasantly suprised by the results. my lil' burb gave a *ton* of money to dean and clark, with a nice chunk for edwards as well. a decent size for dubyanocchio, but not as much as one would think considering where i live.

kick. ass.

on the weird side, as posted above: martin sheen $2K gephardt. may i just say "WTF?!?!" he was a longtime dean backer. i wonder if these are quarterly results. i know the amount listed for me was certainly not the amount i'd given by the end of 2003...

GravatarI live in center city Philly and after looking through a ton of names it seems to me that of the Democratic canidates Kerry received by far the fewest donations. I think this says a lot about his (lack of) charisma.

Gravatar"WELLLLLLL LOOKEE HERE!

Holy SHIT!

GravatarNow pop that Rovian address into MapQuest and let's get us some drivin' directions, Paw!

I'll bring the marshmallow jello...

GravatarJoeBriefcase, that's my thought exactly, on mine about the first 20 are all $hrub supporters, and they're all 2k and MANY of them are related or work together.

I smell some dirty laundry.

Does anyone know how they arrive at these numbers?

GravatarMy MapQuest search came up with some place called "Gates of Hell" - could this be right?

GravatarHey, here's a map to Karl Rove's house.

GravatarAndy Williams...$2,000 to the chimp.

Keep in mind that these results are pre-2004, and hence pre-Kerry's surge.
Once they're updated I'll bet you'll see swarms of donations for Kerry. Who has plenty of charisma, btw.

Gravatarwow, I have a lot of celebrities for neighbors here in santa monica....now I can check out their houses!

Gravatarcheck it out. random zip code search "90210". several pages of maxed out democratic donors, and a list of maxed out bush donors. among the bush donors:

dino de laurentis (director)
lee phillip bell (trophy wife of a billionare)
herb glaser
william b hilton (of hotels fame)
lilli zanuck (movie producer)
richard zanuck (ditto)

etc etc.

old hat, you said something about a road trip? seems these addresses are legit...

*secret service prophylactic: i'm kidding about the road trip.

GravatarThe CEO of something called the Planet Earth Foundation (in my zipcode: 98122) gave $2000 to Bush. What do they do--Advocate for a pre-emptive strike against Mars?

GravatarMap to my house?!!!???!?!?!???!!!??!

Holy, holy, holy shit!

GravatarBradley Whitford of West Wing Fame gave $2k each to Clark, Dean Gephardt, and Kerry... What a guy!

GravatarPeasants outside with torches and pitchforks?!??!!???

Oh holy, holy, holy, holy shit!!!!

GravatarOld Hat: I smell road trip!!!!!!!

GravatarI guess my point is that Kerry was not the popular choice, at least not in Philly. Our primary is not till April...we also have a ton of electoral votes. It is really pretty crazy that Dean, Edwards and Gephardt all dropped out and seemingly had more support than Kerry.

GravatarI think the other thing this site disproves (anectdotally of course) is the old adage that "Bush gets all his money from small donors". Everything I saw in a quick "nearby" search was either $1K or $2K.

Not that a $1K+ donation is exactly indicative of mondo moola... But the bundling... oh the bundling...

GravatarLots of Howard Dean and John Kerry and John Edwards contributors near me.

Something like 20-30 Dean/Kerry/Edwards, et al, to GWB.

My kind of neighbors!

GravatarHey, is anyone else thinking of using this info as a potential fundraising tool? My zip code brought up a ton of $1,000 and $2,000 donations to Bush, but also a lot of random smaller donations to the Dem candidates. I was thinking about typing out a form letter and sending it to the addresses of those who donated to the misc. Dems - something along the lines of "Hey, I found your address thru this creepy website, and couldn't help but notice you've donated to money to help out Dems in the past - could you possibly toss a few bucks Kerry's way, now that we should all be united in defeating the most heinous of evils?" Or do you think people would just get creeped out and file anti-stalking charges against me?
Also thinking now it doesn't much matter if Dean releases his donor list, since everything is pretty much all out there in the open anyway.

GravatarI live in the tony heart of Cambridge, MA (in the crappiest basement apartment in the neigborhood Two Bush supporters within 1/2 a mile, out of 150 or so contributors. A surprisingly large number of Dean donations, given we're in Kerry Country.

Gravatarfp: i stand corrected. =)

GravatarHey, is anyone else thinking of using this info as a potential fundraising tool? My zip code brought up a ton of $1,000 and $2,000 donations to Bush, but also a lot of random smaller donations to the Dem candidates.

Ding ding ding.

Looks like Kerry doesn't have to hustle for that Dean for America list.

GravatarMr. Spock: $2000 to Dean! May he live long and prosper!

GravatarI think the other thing this site disproves (anectdotally of course) is the old adage that "Bush gets all his money from small donors".

You're right, of course, Bill--but who ever said that? God help us if Bush's man-of-the-people routine has penetrated that deep into the thick skull of America's collective consciousness.

On the guilty-pleasure side, though, this site will make the growing sport of Atrios-stalking more fun. I've factored in all the known facts about Atrios' location, occupation, etc., and come up with...

GravatarGeorge Steinbrenner

John W Henry (Red Sox Owner)

Bob Graham?

GravatarI found Bette Midler: $2000 each to Kerry and Geppy. Guess she has a manager or something in Nashvegas.

My ZIP's almost all small-potatoes Dean contributors.

GravatarJerry Seinfeld: $2000 to Kerry and Clark. His wife kicked in another $2000 to Clark.

Atta boy, Jerry!

GravatarOT In the midwest, MSNBC is about to air a phone call to 'Bagdad Bob'. I wonder how much he donated to the Bush campaign?

GravatarHey, is anyone else thinking of using this info as a potential fundraising tool?

Sorry, dudes, that's illegal.

GravatarFascinating. I only have two GOP neighbors, both of whom gave $2000 to Dubya. Lot of support for Kucinich here. What amazed me most was a local taqueria (Chicano-owned) being strongly for Dean.

GravatarThe frickin' Basses own half of Fort Worth and gave $16K to Buxco, damn their scaly hearts. However the owner of the local funeral parlor maxed out for Dean. I guess it's my patriotic duty to die rather than go party downtown tonight.

GravatarOld Hat: huh, sorry, I looked under Hat, and there's no one

The maps are frighteningly red, the extreme NE being the only consistent blue area. Luckily the big cities are mostly blue. And after looking at that map, I'm fairly confident Bush won't win Illinois and Missouri.

Fun findings:
Ed Norton: 2k for Kucinich (not surprising)
Bill Gates: 2k for W (expected)
Steve Ballmer: same as above
Steve Case: ditto
Warren Buffett: 2k for Clark
George Soros: 2K for Kerry, Clark, Dean and Graham (listed with 3 different info) Go George!
even funnier: Barbra Streisand: 1k to Sharpton, Graham, Dean, Kerry, Clark, Gephardt, Edwards
Alex Baldwin: 2k Kerry, 1500 Dean
William Baldwin: 1k Dean
Viggo Mortensen: 250 Dean
James "fuck the jews" Baker: 2k for Bush (weirdly, he's listed more than once!)
Nader: 2k Bush (ok, got you, not Ralph)
Dan Quayle 2k for Chimpy

I notice many people aren't recorded, so my guess is that many wait for the next months to cash in (can't imagine Limbaugh, Murdoch or Hannity wouldn't do it for their dear Fuhrer)

GravatarOT: The U.S. military on Friday dropped all criminal charges against Muslim Army chaplain Capt. James Yee

GravatarUmm, the highest demo contribution was about $8,000 in our largest city. The repubs got about $32,000. These people have serious money. I'm not quitting. On to november. St. Jude help!

Gravatarahhhhhhhhhhhhh...I miss Dan Quayle. It was an age of innocence.

Gravatarcan't help but shake my head when I see people with Arab/muslim names donating to Bush.

GravatarClueless Joe:

You mean Ed Norton didn't give to Ralphie boy? What a pal!

GravatarThis is highly amusing. Between the owner, the CEO, the security director, and the head coach, the Cleveland Browns have given $8k to the Bush campaign. So much for hoping for good karma to shine on them this season.

OTOH, Art Modell gave $1k to Dick Gephardt, which only goes to show how well Art can pick a winner.

Gravatarw t f ?

GravatarMary Cheney (Bush-Cheney '04, Inc.) - $850, Bush

GravatarHoly shit, I'm in the center of Minneapolis. I expected Howard Dean down the line, but the first people to pop up had some pretty hefty donations to GW Bush. Hell, the artistic director of the Guthrie center gace the max. Is that wierd or what?

Gravatar"Hey, here's a map to Karl Rove's house."

This IS extremely frightening. All you need to do is ip dredge and you caould find me(if I was on the list). This could get really ugly if someone wanted to.I mean look at what you did to karl(marx)rove. We could go and toilet paper his house tonite. What if the trolls get a hankering to do some real damage. Not only that but this could be damaging to the long term effects of campaign financing. If it came out that some one was killed via this list for political reasons. The imagination crumbles at the implications.

On another note I hate the neighborhood I live in.I dialed up my zip code and found about ten people on the list. Most of them for bush. One for Kerry.Texas is sure bushlands.

GravatarAmbassador Joseph C. Wilson: $2000 for Kerry. (couldn't find the wife)

Stone Gossard (Pearl Jam): $2000 to Dean.

GravatarI feel slightly better about my neighborhood now. In the bad part of Dallas (Oak Cliff) there where far more donations to the Demo's than to bush. And the majority were 2k donations to Dean.

For that matter, he never even registered to vote until a Sacramento newspaper revealed that the loudest GOP voice out there had NEVER VOTED IN AN ELECTION. (1989?)

GravatarGoddamn I hate NYC, it blocks out all of Philly's potential fund-itude.

GravatarReally scary- my neighborhood, which is pretty democratic, has given huge amounts to chimpy.

In fact, my whole city has given huge amounts to chimpy. Also lots to Dean, but most of the high tech people are bush supporters. Big shock.

Well one thing for sure, it proves they have more money than we do.

Karen Hughes and hubby? maxed out to shrub.

GravatarOnce they're updated I'll bet you'll see swarms of donations for Kerry. Who has plenty of charisma, btw.
nobody

I've heard him speak in person. He does just fine.

The maps are frighteningly red, the extreme NE being the only consistent blue area.

Extreme nuttin'. All of NE is blue. We are NOT counting NY, NY is not NE. *lol* How insulting!

What surprises the most is...NH is blue! WTF?? Whatever happened to the conservative spirit in my home state? Maybe I can breath a sigh of relief that it's dead? Too many massholes moved up there I guess. Hehe. COOL.

In my area, quite a bit of Kerry donors. But then, he's our Senator...

However, THIS looks illegal...unless it's father and son:

John H. Pearson
Partner/Owner
Pearson & Pearson Law Firm George W. Bush $2,000

John Howard Pearson
Paralegal
Pearson & Pearson Law Firm George W. Bush $2,000

Too many Bush donors here, almost ALL of them $2000. What the crap?

Oh and it's funny, I recognize some of the names, because people in my peace and justice group donated. Heh. Cute.

I kinda wish this only had topgraphical info, as this could discourage people from donating. Getting your address posted is NOT COOL. Names maybe, but not addresses. Hell.

GravatarOh and just LOOK at Boston! It has the LEAST red in its pie chart! I do so love my adopted state...I feel right at home.

Anyone look up Mel Gibson yet? I can't find him by name.

GravatarDid the usual searches, including Sheen (Gephardt? I thought for sure he'd be a Dean man), which led me to try Bradley Whitford (plays Josh on The West Wing):

$2000 to Dean
$2000 to Kerry
$2000 to Gephardt
$2000 to Clark

That's $8000, which... wow... and I thought _I_ hated Bush the most.

GravatarHas anyone else found any anomalies like this?

GravatarMBS - I found someone who for most of his Bush donations is listed as an attorney, except the one where he's listed as an enginner. Very strange.

Also found that a certain unlikable cousin has given $500 to Bush, no surprise.

GravatarMBS: yeah, see my post up there...weird. Could be anomaly, but I say we ask someone to investigate!!!

GravatarAhem, that's "engineer."

GravatarI know y'all are having just a ton of fun here, but I gotta say this whole mess really, really sucks.
Aw, put the cat down! It's past my bedtime, anyway. G'night.

GravatarBarbara P. Bush - $2000 to George W Bush.

George H W Bush - $2000 to George W Bush.

John Ellis (Jeb) Bush - $1000 to George W Bush. Only $1000? Cheapskate.

I was really hoping they had given to someone else. That would have been so funny...

GravatarJeebus. Dean woulda won Cottage Grove, Oregon!

...and the half dozen people or so who gave to Bush are all retired or CEOs of local companies (and they all gave the max).

Go figger.

GravatarAaron Sorkin, writer, self-employed, LA: $1K to Dean. $2K apiece to Edwards, Gephardt, and Clark.

Bonnie Raitt, musician, self-employed, LA: $500 to Dean, $2K to Kucinich.

Janeane Garofalo, 2 contributions totaling $850 to Dean, listed from CA and NY addresses.

Looks like Frank's widow, all: Gail Zappa, listed variously as "Record Producer/Entertainment," "CEO, Inter Continental Absurdities," "Philanthropist, not employed," and a listing for "Diva Zappa" at the same PO in North Hollywood: $2K to Dean, $2K to Gephardt, $1K Edwards, another thou to Gephardt, $1K to Bob Graham, and $1K to Clark. Dweezil's down for $1K to Gephardt.

Tony Shalhoub: $1K to Dean.

Kinda surprised at who isn't listed, as well, but that will likely change as time goes on. I can't believe my employer was not listed. (Also went through my whole record collection, I think.)

You could spend hours here. I must have entered 50 names.

GravatarInteresting - George Steinbrenner gave $2K to Bob Graham - guess he learned after supporting Nixon

So did Don Shula but they are partners in his steak house chain

GravatarThe Fanjul sugar barons donated to Bush, Lieberman, Gephart and Graham. This is how they keep their sugar monopoly, they have always greased both sides.

GravatarLynne --
yeah, I saw yours and COULD be pere et fils -- but not even a Jr to designate? AND same monogram? hmmm.... but is possible.

OTOH, how many daughters do you know have the exact same name as mom, being a female *junior* -- WAY WAY WAAAAAYYY more uncommon.

So, who does one go to to investigate?

And is it possible, since there are no tax writeoffs anyway, that SOME of these people don't even know they've contributed? I've worked a few places where we kept SSNs on file (and other demograph info too). Couldn't a deep pocket shell it out in all kinds of names -- WITHOUT their knowledge? (unlike the ones who agree to it upfront or have no choice since daddy's writin' the check and says your name's on it. . .)

I'm working the local bigwig angle and trying to get enough to see if local media will bite on coverage to just give some free pub to the site -- strictly for purposes of shame. I'm in Cincinnati, one of the top 10 or so Ranger/Pioneer strongholds and Buh comes here to grease the wheels fairly often. Makes me sick to see 8-10 (or more) fams on the same street going $4k per couple. Gack.

Gravatarbut most of the high tech people are bush supporters.

Just wait till their jobs go out to India.

GravatarGoober,

Yeah, pretty much of a slobberfest but what the hell - friday night.

Gravataronly rich people and wackos contribute to the Bush campaign. I mean, what possible reason would someone who is *not rich* contribute to Bush, it makes no sense whatsoever.

I looked in my own zip, which has contributed (relatively) small amounts to every conceivable democratic candidate. ME, I saw myself on the map. A small dot, but what I could do.

Everyone, must do the work.

Of course, not the Naderites, who must keep their conscience 'pure'. We must do it without them.

GravatarHey Sullywatch,

As a longtime Giant season ticket holder, eff him. He was overrated anyway. So is his horseface wife.

GravatarWe suppose Richard Perle already gave in kind (Funny yet that his neighbors are big Gephardt supporters).

Likewise Wolfowitz.

But Doug Feith kicked some tribute back!

GravatarIn Seattle, the tech execs gave to Bush while the tech workers gave to Dems.

It could be Detroit and the auto trade in the '60's.

Another thing that caught my eye was the lack of military folk listed in the Tacoma area (2 bases, McChord AFB and Ft Lewis). In 2000, the local papers were full of stories claiming that the rank and file were actively supporting and contributing to Bush. This cycle I could only find 2 soldiers for Bush out of 800+ names. (Plus 1 for Dean!)

GravatarBush has a $2000 donor named Gay Love. I kid you not.

Gravatar Anyone find a celebrity (Bill Gates doesn't count) that donated to Bush?

What is interesting is that how few people gave to John Kerry during the primaries.

This is interesting. Sort of like going through people's trash cans.

GravatarIs this "William J. Buckley" any relation to that Buckley family?

Funny. So many prominent conservative pundits haven't put up (we came up empty on Robert Bartley, John Fund, Laura Ingraham etc.). What do they know that they aren't sharing with the rest of us ... huh?

Big Stephen King, who is more scared by four more years of Bush than anything he's ever written about, gave his money not to fellow native New Englander Kerry but to Dean.

Couldn't find anything for Tom Clancy. And while Alice Sebold gave nothing, her main character is apparently not dead but doing quite well for herself here on earth.

GravatarSlightly OT, if you've never seen Michael Moore's "The Big One":

It opens with Moore talking about having created 4 bank accounts to send $100 contributions to candidates in the then-current (1992?) race. The group names: "Satan Worshipers for Dole"; "Hemp Growers of America" (contributing to Clinton's campaign); "Abortionists For Buchanan"; and "Pedophiles for Free Trade," contributing to Ross Perot.

He doesn't say if Dole cashed his check. Clinton cashed his (no biggie). Buchanan was the FIRST to cash his check. And the donation to Perot netted a form letter: "I'd like to thank you and your fellow pedophiles for your support..."

It's a terrific documentary; see it if you can, but bear in mind that it was filmed back in Moore's Nader days.

GravatarThat was a TV Nation segment first, wasn't it?

GravatarFIrst off, this is scary. I mean, damn...I don't like this info being out and easy to get. It just goes against my belief in being able to hold your views without fear of retribution, in all ways.

That said...

Interesting. I live in a fairly Dem section of St. Louis, which I guess is what I would have expected. The whole map pretty much jibes with what I would've though, actually--rich suburbs go heavy to da Chimp, whilst most other places go Dem.

I would also say to be careful about saying that this shows that MO is going to "go blue", or whatever, as someone implied. I do think there's a good chance for that, but this whole thing contains a lot of donations to Gephardt, who is very popular in this state, and thus skews the results a bit. It's not a given that these people will go with the same vigor for John Kerry, but I think the potential's there.

GravatarOh, and jsg--Venter sequenced the human genome like I invented calculus.

Guy's WORTHLESS. HATE HIM.

GravatarSince I'm a big sports fan (Chicago especially), thought I'd do a few of those, like everyone else.

Chandler Tagliabue

Joe Lieberman $1,000
885 Park Ave

Paul John Tagliabue
Business Executive, National Football League (note: Actually, the commish)
Joe Lieberman
$1,000
885 Park Ave
New York, NY 10021

Which is nice.

Couldn't find McCaskey's or Halas' (owners of the Bears), or Wirtz (scumbag owner of the Blackhawks). But I did find this one...really strange:
J. Reinsdorf
Real Estate Exec., Bojer Financial (Also the principal owner of the Bulls and the White Sox. And, for good measure, one of the leading characters behind the '94 strike)
Carol Moseley Braun $2,000
33 W 35th St
Chicago, IL 60616

Jerry M. Reinsdorf
Real Estate Executive, Bojer Financial
George W. Bush $2,000
333 W 35Th St
Chicago, IL 60616

The second one isn't surprising...but the first one? I know someone said real estate execs hedge their bets, but come on, Braun? And, there is an Illinois connection, I guess, but...

Just surprising you'd find someone donating to Bush AND Braun.

GravatarOh sweet holy crap! This is totally whacked beyond belief!

Say I wanted to "go get" any Ralph Nader supporters... Or... say I wanted to give a Ralph supporter 2K? Or, perhaps, go pilfer my neighborhood Bush supporters houses while they're working? Or sort through their garbage and get unshredded documentation to help do some identity-theft. Better yet, I now have the address of people with a spare 2K, sorted by zip code, by which to launch a life of petty crime. Jesus H. Christ (on a rubber cross)! Why work anymore? Why wait for government to tax the people when we can go to the people (sorted by zip-code, for gods sake!) and just "borrow" some cash- cut out the middle man.

This is the ethically-challenged entrepreneur's wet dream! Demographically sorted coinage, damn near real time!

Gotta go look some more... it's fascinating... the same way a loaded passenger train wreck (in slow motion) is fascinating...

GravatarHoward Dean gave $2000 to Shrub, I knew it...

GravatarBut let us remember certain of these addresses, because the time may be drawing nearer than we wish that we have to come to these places in the middle of the night ...

GravatarNo suprise that my neighborhood is/was in love with Howard Dean and I proud to note not even one cent for Bush.

Although, I don't know how that one Lieberman supporter got in there...get outta Rockridge you fascist!

GravatarIf FundRace is going to list the top donor buildings in each major city, they're going to have to do a little data cleanup.

For example, check out Houston's top Republican donors. It's pretty clear that "600 Travis St." and "600 Travis" are the same location. If you combine the two, they take the top spot.

GravatarNo suprise that my neighborhood is/was in love with Howard Dean and I proud to note not even one cent for Bush.

Not necessarily. Only for contributors who exceeded $100 does this information have to be disclosed.

GravatarI would guess that many political commentators don't give money to candidates for just this sort of reason. It'll come back to bite them in the ass.
