Rush can pontificate on every subject under the sun and tell othe people how to live and what's wrong with them.
The rules don't apply to him.
He can do whatever the fuck he wants and it's okay, not only with him, but also with his whacked out audience.

Yeah, he's loathsome...but how profitable is it to pay any attention to him or analyze what he says? He's an entertainer, not a thinker, and his method is that of free association. He's discovered that he can spout word salad so long as it's anti-liberal word salad, and some people will listen to him. Sure, it's nonsense, but it isn't intended to be otherwise, is it? We all know he's an idiot, and the people who listen to him probably won't have their minds changed by a careful analysis of what he says...so why bother?
Oh, Hell, what am I talkin' about...I can't resist shredding him either...

OK, so Rush thinks marriage is a one-way street -- that he thinks of his career and his spouse must not resent being way down the priorities.
He is also a Goodyear Blimp of hypocrisy, a floating, hot-air advertisement for "do as I say but not as I do", but that is no surprise. He is a drug felon who walks free and gets to vote, and he is thrice divorced. Maybe he can get a Stepford Wife next time.
Damn, Rush is stepping ever-more-quickly attaining full-fledged Matt Foley status:
"Now, as your father told you, my name is Matt Foley, and I am a motivational speaker. Before I begin, I ought to tell you a little about myself so you'll know where I'm coming from. First off, I am 35 years old, I am thrice divorced, and I live in a van down by the river!"
Well, Rush still has his Manhattan penthouse, as opposed to a van down by the (Hudson) River. But give him time!

I ponder that Limbaugh's audience might actually be slipping. If parallels between Rush and Bush are worth anything, Bush is leading Rush down the slow path to oblivion.
I'm not being so crass as to suggest his divorce is merely a publicity stunt, rumors of his closeted homosexuality notwithstanding.
BUT, the E.I.B. network is a cash-hungry beast. What wouldn't the handlers of Rush do to boost ratings?

I doubt there is going to be any lurid book or court testimony. I am sure that Rush has enough cash to pony up, to make Marta keep her mouth shut.
So now Rush can't talk about drug abuse on his program, nor marriage/divorce. He can't even talk (credibly) about gay marriage and how it will destroy traditional straight marriage.
Even if you buy the bogus argument that gay marriage threatens the institution of marriage, isn't a guy who's had three divorces doing as much if not more to destroy it??????
So what will be left for him to talk about??? Is he a tax cheat? Does he have a shoplifting jones? What other skeletons are there in his closet??

A former official at American Family Radio, which regularly warns listeners about the dangers of pornography, must serve 15 years in prison for producing child pornography.
In federal court in Aberdeen Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Glen H. Davidson sentenced Kerry Dwayne Stevens, 47, of Tupelo, who pleaded guilty to two counts of producing child pornography. A law passed by Congress last year requires a mandatory 15-year sentence for creating child pornography.
"It's tragic for everybody involved," said the Rev. Donald Wildmon, founder and executive director of the Tupelo-based American Family Association, which started the fast-growing Christian radio network...
American Family Radio..fired Stevens, who produced a children's show for the network as director of children's news, but Wildmon said the association has helped to support the family financially through the tragedy.

In his letter to (Judge) Wicker, Stevens wrote, "...I took some pictures of one of my daughter's friends. Suffice it to say that these pictures were of her in various sleeping positions. Let me hasten to add that I never touched her person, nor are there any ... showing her face, nor was there any involvement with the Internet. I did not do this for personal profit, but from a dark sin. Nor did I touch her, because I didn't want to wake her and have her damaged psychologically. And truthfully, I didn't want to take a chance on getting caught.
"I know what I did was wrong. Oh, how I wish I could simply undo what I've done!! But I can't."
But Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul Roberts in court suggested Stevens did more than just snap pictures, saying photographs showed an adult hand adjusting clothing and in one case touching a minor child.
Days after the arrest, Wildmon met with Stevens. "He was just a shell of a person," Wildmon said. "We told him we forgive him."
Wednesday's sentencing serves as a reminder, Wildmon said. "It shows everybody is vulnerable. If not this, then something else along the way. All of us are weak in some area."
Just a way to get close to children. Of course the idiot parents had no problem leaving their children with him because he is "heterosexual, married and a Christian." Only have to worry about those gays at the club dancing or like Will and Grace.

Rush and Marta have never even resided at the same address! This woman is a beard...
"It's been reported in several publications that Marta Limbaugh the "Trophy Wife" of radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh, didn't have a clue that her husband Rush was buying and using massive amounts of prescription narcotic painkillers like Vicodin.
Why would this be? My wife certainly knows what medication I take and I know what medication she takes.
I believe it is because Marta Limbaugh is just an "acting wife." Recruited and paid to act like Rush's adoring wife in public, but when they are not in public, they go their separate ways.
Marta Limbaugh owns a separate home, in her name only, less than a mile from Rush Limbaugh's palatial estate. Marta Limbaugh's home is tax appraised at just over one million dollars, located within the same zip code but on a different street.
Rush Limbaugh's palatial estate is valued at greater than $24 million.
The information about Rush Limbaugh's and Marta Limbaugh's separate homes is public information available from the Palm Beach County Tax Appraiser's office and available online.
The book contains copies of the tax records and information on how to look up this information on the web.
The reason his housekeeper knew of Rush's drug addiction problem, but his wife did not is because his housekeeper saw a lot more of Rush than his wife did. "
People like Rush are their own worst punishment.

If you were a woman, and his wife, wouldn't you cheat on that fat slob who is probably as hung as a peanut?
If he was faithful to her and she cheated, wouldn't he be entitled to dump her ass?
Or is this a case, as I mentioned in the prior Rush/Divorce post, where he is dumping her before something bad comes along that compells her to testify against him or maybe he cheated and wants to cut out fast and accuse her of doing the same but figures if he gets there first he can lay claim to the moral high ground and label her accusations as malicious lies?

Rush is a hypocrite, so what? He's the flag-bearer for ignorant, lying, hypocrites and always has been. What's sadder is that he's right about the degradation of society, rising crime, divorce, and what have you. Society is in a state of crisis on many fronts, as he says. But he's completely wrong about the reasons, and if he read "Ishmael" or "Natural Capitalism" he might realize he's part of the disease.

I've heard of penis-envy and breast-envy, but could there be a pschological condition as marriage-envy? Where people feel they have to be married even though they have no clue as to why? Or could it be a coditioned-response to a stimuli, such as Pavlov's dogs?
Marta? The Maximum Gasbag was married to MARTA? Marrying a fleet of buses goes well beyond anything Santorum imagined with dogs or single refrigerators....

Damn Bill Clinton! Because she won't leave him I'm miserable. It's his fault I'm unhappy.

I sure wish somebody would put together a comprehensive list of all the Republican "family values" windbags who have completely fucked up their families.
Joe Conason devoted an entire chapter of "Big Lies" to just this topic. And that was before the Rushbo's third divorce.

I haven't listened to Limbaugh in years, maybe 10 or so, but does he still sound like that? I always was amazed he was supposed to be the top dog in radio. He always sounds like some guy who's wife just caught him checking out donkey porn on the internet and he's trying to explain his way out of it.
Oh, OT and no one cares, but...
I just got through playing a show with my band, a benefit to raise awareness concerning the PATRIOT ACT. U.S. Senate hopeful Doug Haines spoke just before we played - and he liked us, which was nice - and he continues to impress. Give the good man some turkee if the mood hits ya.

Does anybody find it suspicious that Rush gets a divorce the minute Nancy Reagan becomes available?
We knew he was dumb, had forgotten since reading that FAIR book on Limbaugh's point-by-point refutation how incoherent and unqualified for radio he is. The guy's no Janeane Garofalo.

I enjoy the unmasking of a winger hypocrit as much as the next guy/gal, but I always suffer a slight drop after that high when I realize that hypocrisy is irrelevant to their influence. After all, from a winger's perspective, a leader is "a man (with few exceptions) who restricts, condemns, and punishes." Any "mistakes," "transgressions," or "weaknesses" are merely their sinful human nature momentarily overcoming their god-fearing spirit, and it is whether they continue to restrict, condemn, and/or punish the sin that continues to gain them followers, not their actions.
This phenomenon is behind much of the ado about Clinton's indiscretion with Ms. Lewinsky. To anyone left of Billy Graham, the affair might be anything from silly to repulsive to disappointingly stupid, but we always seperate it from Clinton's job performance, which was outstanding in nearly every category. Yet, wingers continue to use it as a "gotcha" even when it does not register to us as a gotcha. We get a bit frustrated that wingers continue to argue that an irrelevant, personal event somehow proves Clinton a terrible president and leader (in direct conflict with any other evidence).
This must be how wingers feel when we bring up the obvious hypocrisy of their Moral Leadership. They don't see how "human weakness" undermines the wonderful condemnation said leader has heaped upon a particular sin (or group of sinners). To wingers it is paramount that certain behaviors and ideas (and people) be eternally vilified, not that the guys saying it make mistakes. That is not hypocrisy to wingers. To be hypocritical, for a winger, he would have to condemn something one day and praise it the next. THAT and only that is hypocrisy to wingers. It also accounts for why "flip-flopping" is seen to be a harsh criticism from them, while being "resolute," even in the face of fatal stupidity, is seen as the mark of a born leader of men.
Cole the Younger |

This also accounts for the wingers blowing off anything W did before being sworn in to office as "youthful indescretions" and do so with all sincerity.

Thank you, Cole the Younger, for wisdom beyond your years (Younger than What, I ask?) Pointing out rethug hypocrisy is useless. They love hypocrisy, they have an foreign policy, a domestic agenda, and a religion based on it. They are proud of being hypocrites. Acting in line with your principles is, like taxes, for little people. Hypocrisy is their holy grail, their Nirvana, Satori, and heaven all rolled into one. To attain the level of affluence and influence which makes all hypocrisies A-Hokay (as H*y*m*a*n K*a*p*l*a*n would say) is their aim in life. And pointing it out only gratifies 'em

Thought about this more...wonder if Marta managed to live through Limbo's Oxycontin-induced constipation, nausea, somnolence, dizziness, vomiting, pruritus, headache, dry mouth, sweating and asthenia (non-serious side effects), but now can't live with the pompous ass post-Oxycontin because he's ALL there. Perhaps he's no longer a nice, easy-going guy since he cleaned up in rehab.
Yeesh. I can't even imagine anyone wanting him unless he was heavily sedated.
Or maybe her health records are being scrutinized now...whether because of some "health issue" that required doctor shopping or no...hmm. That'd be the last straw for me, in spite of the big paycheck.

"a 560 percent increase in violent crime, a 419 percent increase in illegitimate births, a quadrupling in divorce rates, a tripling of the percentage of children living in single-parent homes, more than a 200 percent increase in teen-age suicide rate and a drop of almost 80 points in SAT scores."
It's not clear from the post what time frame he is talking about, but it appears to be the 90s. If so, he's ill-informed. During the 90s there was a huge decrease in most crime stats. The # of illegitimate births nose-dived. The teenage suicide rate increase he cites sounds absurd, but I'd have to research it.
The fact is the 90s was a tremendous decade for a number of reasons and the right-wing blowhards refused to let us enjoy it while it lasted. The most important stat from the Clinton years was that real wages for ALL segments of the population rose and for the first time in a long while, the income gap was actually narrowing slightly.

Tonight on a very special "Reagan Is Still Dead":
A disconsolate Rush Limbaugh visits Ronnie's grave and delivers a powerful, moving twenty-two minute monologue on the break-up of his third marriage, how Al Franken is going to flay him alive, and how much money the whole shebang is going to cost him. A spectral Ronnie appears and comforts Rush with an uplifting story of how he and the space alien Alf personally liberated the Nazi death camps during World War II.
You won't want to miss this VERY SPECIAL EPISODE of "Reagan Is Still Dead," starring Dennis Miller as Ronald Reagan and the guy who played Cameron Diaz's mentally retarded brother in "There's Something About Mary" as Rush Limbaugh.

Well, the right-wing told us so, and we just didn't belive it! See what happens when you let homosexuals start getting married? It obviously harms the sacred institution of marriage.... oh, wait, that wouldn't explain Rush's first two divorces... never mind.

Why don't we all start a 2-strikes you are out movement? Anyone with over 2 marriages should be denied the right to marry, since they have proven they are unloving and unlovable. And they should be denied basic human rights. And hated by many.
There is exactly as much logic to that as there is to any form of discrimation against gays or gay marriage.
This madness must stop with these insane Rush Limbaugh types and all the rest. We need adults in the media, in the body politic, in the leadership halls of the military, and in the judiciary, not reactionary immature judgemental fools.
Where is tolerance?
Where is wisdom?
Where is heartfelt appreciation of humanity and a noble vision for mankind?
Where is honor?
Rush Limbaugh has none. He should shut up and attend 12 step meetings for the rest of his life and heal his demented, tormented, and dark heart.
I couldn't read that crap masquerading as language.
On our first trip I tried so hard to rearrange your mind, but after 'while I realized you were disarranging mine.
