Liberal bloggers are facing a snark shortage that may have serious implications in the coming months, experts say. Blog readers are being warned to expect rationing and long lines at their favorite liberal blogs -- and that some blogs may not make it through the current crisis.

So many worthies, so little money. I've grown quite fond of Stan Mastsunaka in a very short time from looking at his entire face smiling over on the right of the screen. I'd like to see him get elected, too - Colorado needs some serious help; it is on the fast track to being worse than Texas. (Oh that's going to get me flamed, no doubt.)
But I might have another spare fiddy for taking back the Senate...

Species 8 - Ok, I won't forget about him if you won't forget about Morris Meyer, who is running against Joe Barton in Texas for the U.S. House. Barton is on the finance committee for the EPA. It has helped him in his lifelong quest to get all the biggest polluters in Texas exempt from EPA standards. Joe is the reason that Houston is now the country's most polluted city and Dallas is about 3d, IIRC.

The definition of optimism? BASRA, Iraq, June 18 — Oil could be flowing as early as Sunday through one of two major pipelines that were sabotaged a few miles from this southern Iraqi city earlier this week.
That assessment was made today by government and military officials, raising hopes that oil exports, the basis of Iraq's economy, may be back to normal within a week if there are no further attacks.
Because, you know, attacks are really an anomaly over there...

How Do I Vote for my Fav. Radio Station ... ie Air America
Since April, Randi Rhodes has been saying she can't tell us how to vote for Air America Radio Station or any of our favorite radio stations, so as to boost a radio station's ratings. We need let the executives know that we're listening to Air America Radio or any of our favorite liberal or music stations.
I've been asking this question for some months now ... finally I've gotten some anwsers...
Have you ever wondered,"How do radio stations decide what to put on the air?" or, "Who do they ask about radio listening? THEY'VE NEVER CALLED ME!" Well, if you're visiting this Web site, then chances are you've finally received the call—or will very soon. This is your chance to be heard!"
We invite you to take your time and check us out here on our Web site. If you have any unanswered questions, please call us at our toll-free number listed below. If you haven’t already agreed to participate, you can call us at that same number to say "YES!"
Thanks for looking us up on the Web, and we hope we can count on you. Chris Johnson

"We're gonna take back the Senate"
Yep, we are.
Colorado needs some serious help; it is on the fast track to being worse than Texas.
Tena, I have a good feeling about Colorado. The fiscal crisis created by the TABOR amendment, school funding requirements, and Bill Owens' screwing around on his wife with a staffer are all hurting the Republicans. They have been totally unable to field a strong candidate in a Congressional race. Scott McInnis is retiring, and Jack Salazar looks good to replace him. Jack's brother Ken looks really good to replace Ben Nighthorse Campbell. Marilyn Musgrave will probably survive, but faces a primary challenge and the Democrat she faced last time (when neither had a record to run on).
Colorado is attracting national help - Bill Richardson and Loretta Sanchez are helping the Salazars raise funds, for example.
There is much good news in Colorado.

An American citizen had his head cut off in Saudi Arabia. Why are the left-wing blogs so slow to blog on this? She touched on the economy, the deficit, foreign policy, jobs and unemployment, the environment, education, health care, judicial nominees...am I fogetting anything. All without a single notecard and no teleprompter. And she said nice things about Joe (who really needs a better speech, IMHO). But I like Joe and I hope to gawds he can oust Specter. I'm sure I read (some where) that the State Department issued the (get out) warning (to American workers in Saudi Arabia) only after the shooting and kidnapping.
What I'm reading here is that the responsibility falls on the shoulders of the (beheaded) victim (no pun intended).
I don't think he could have (left) even if he did get the SD's warning. He had been working in Saudi Arabia for ten years. His immediate "family" is located in Ft. Worth -- I know that because I saw the video of his son begging for his dad's life.
Now then, if you owed your economic life and your family's livelihood to the "one who brung you," what would you do?
Why are Americans less safe anywhere in the world today than they were three years and five months ago?

kei & yuri,
He was a tech rep for Apache helicopters -- an Aerospace Industry enterprise; he was not one of the "oil expats," as you say -- but, even if he were, are you insinuating his life was worth less?
Your comments beg another question: why do Americans go abroad (if I may paraphrase you) "to make bank and live better than they could here"?
Living away from your family for ten years is tough! I must assume that he was divorced (and in the video I saw, only his son commented).
So it wasn't really a "shall we do Paris this year or the Pyramids" type of choice.

What divorce? His wife was with him in Saudi, she appeared in a few photos and we heard her speak on TV.
What have we said that wasn't true? What other than massive rolls of money could get you to live in a shithole like Saudi in the first place? While we were in Kuwait a friend was offered money, on top of a residence and a car, to stay back as one of there contractors. Most of them are there for oil, although if this guy was in aerospace he would be part of this community of foreigners UBL was steaming about, not just the bases but also the community of Americans living there, semi-secretly drinking and helping to maintain the regime.

Hostage family learn the worst
From correspondents in Eagleswood, New Jersey
19jun04
THE family of Paul Johnson, the US national taken hostage by al-Qaeda gunmen in Saudi Arabia, remained behind closed doors today after news broke of his execution.
Relatives, who issued tearful pleas for Mr Johnson's safe return this week, had reportedly been informed that an Islamic website had posted three pictures showing that the 49-year-old aeronautics engineer had been beheaded.
Mr Johnson's captors had posted a video on the same website on Tuesday threatening to kill him unless the Saudi government freed detained militants within 72 hours.
Dozens of television camera crews were stationed outside the house of Mr Johnson's sister, Donna Mayeux, this morning. Several relatives were believed to have gathered at the home in Eagleswood Township, New Jersey.
The lawn in front of the house was dotted with yellow ribbons, which had also been tied on fences and trees around the town by the local community where Mr Johnson grew up.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the Johnson family," read a sign on a neighbour's porch.
Earlier this week, Ms Mayeux and Mr Johnson's son, Paul Marshall Johnson III, issued an impassioned appeal for Mr Johnson's captors to spare his life.
"He's an innocent man. Killing him is not going to solve anything," Ms Mayeux said. "Please don't murder him."
Mr Johnson's wife, a Thai national who stayed in Riyadh after his kidnapping, made a similarly emotional appeal on Arab satellite television before the execution deadline expired.
"I want him to come back to me. He didn't do anything wrong," she said.

"UnAryanness"?
I find the statement troublesome at the least, and horrific at the most.
They forgot to mention dead queers.
As for the Aryan authors, let me say this: of whatever god you worship, it is not loving and forgiving.
Although I assume you speak sincerely to all people of faith -- I doubt, seriously, either of you have ever felt the incredible power of the Holy Spirit through your hands.
The God which I worship is simply incapable of hate. God loves me, a faggot, and loves you, too.
