I'MMA LET YOU FINISH

whoooooo! whooooooo!

GravatarDang! Did you hear the huge cheer for Kerry as he walked off stage? Bush was already gone, and Kerry got a big cheer as he waved good bye.

GravatarBush the all-blining, all-smirking choke artist. How will they spin that?

GravatarJohn Kerry did extremely well. I found myself drifting off while Bush spoke. Bush looked hunched over, with strange grimaces on his face while Kerry spoke. He looked like Nixon.

GravatarGood lord! A "green party" person called in and said Bush was stronger, clearer and better spoken.

What an idiot. Bush fumbled and flustered and said the same 200 words over and over again.

Kerry clearly knew what was going on, he understood details about every single situation in the questions. He came across a strong, collected, clear, and thoughtful.

GravatarBush did a lot of um-ing and leaving dead air space. He wasn't impressive or convincing -- and yes, he sounded whiny. Oh well, he wasn't my first choice and I suppose it shows.

GravatarWhooo hooo!

CNN has Kerry winning 92 to 7!

Gravatarfact check - Bush implied that Saddam Hussein attacked the USA.

GravatarAny direct links to polls? I can't seem to find any.

GravatarHow can anybody vote for Bush after this? Did you see the way his beady eyes looked at us when answering those questions? He barely said anything. Just more of the same trash that the Republican party has been putting out about Kerry...

GravatarWhere the heck are the polls?

I've looked, what's the link guys?

GravatarAnyone who says that Bush did better than Kerry is mentally ill and needs to be confined. Sorry for being so dramatic, but Kerry was measured, focused, SPECIFIC, detailed, and had an aura of authority around him.

Mike Malloy is saying on Air America that Bush looked like he was going to lose it and how he had a lot of facial tics - I HAVE to watch this replay on C-SPAN!

GravatarHelp! I'm finding the major news network sites hard to get to; I've only managed to hit the MSNBC poll so far. I suspect there's huge amounts of traffic to all these sites, so if anyone has the direct URL for the debate poll on any of these sites, please post it here. Thanks in advance!

GravatarWatch the split screen on CSPAN-definitely the way to go!

Gravatarfirst online poll here

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6092749/

GravatarFox News link needs to be fixed.

GravatarFoxnews link is bad.

GravatarGet your asses over there to MSNBC, Bush is already ahead by seven percent.

GravatarFoxnews link is bad.

GravatarMSNBC here.

GravatarSo Do I understand that we need China to protect us from North Korea?

Hmm, I guess that's resolute.

Gravatarspin is actually going against Bush for now....

GravatarThanks for the heads-up on those polls, Atrios!

GravatarMonkey lost. clear and straight.

GravatarCNN.COM POLL

Who won the debates?

Kerry is kicking ass!

Front page, scroll down, right side.

GravatarThe photo of Kerry and Bush at their podiums on the MSNBC home page is great: Kerry tall and in the foreground, Chimpy shrinking into his podium.

The best shots were of the two on stage, with Chimpy looking extremely small.

GravatarWent to all the links, could only find MSNBC poll. Does USA Today have one?

GravatarUnfortunately it looks as though most americans think Bush won, and won BIG TIME.

GravatarNot a slam dunk, but I think Kerry's numbers will go up. As of when I took the MSNBC poll Kerry ahead with 73%

GravatarWhere is the ABC poll? Link?

GravatarOnline polls: Kerry is kicking the blinking slobbering chimp's ass.

Expect the media to break down and declare this a draw.

GravatarMSNBC Kerry 73, Bush 27, over 100,000 votes

Hail President Kerry!

GravatarI've seen Biden on two different networks now and he's really starting to smoke.

GravatarCNN is the only poll currently up.

GravatarI've heard two people say "Kerry coulnd't even call Bush a liar."

Well, you know, guys, you're not supposed to do that in a debate.

He did say Bush was factually incorrect.

GravatarAlterman, I wanna hear you gloat tommorrow.
GLOAT DAMMIT!!!!

GravatarHmm, no Fox News poll... hehe

Gravatarhttp://aolsvc.news.aol.com/ elect...930112609990001

Vote in the aolnews poll..bush is still a tiny bit ahead.

By the way, did anyone catch the abc program with the undecided voters in Ohio--all 8 said they would vote for KERRY.

GravatarDorothy, the word "liar" was specifically negotiated out of the debate by campaign staff on both sides.

GravatarWhere the heck are the polls?

I've looked, what's the link guys?

GravatarWhere the heck are the polls?

I've looked, what's the link guys?

Gravataraol poll results:
Did it change the candidate you support?
No 73%
Yes, I now support Kerry 17%
Yes, I now support Bush 10%

GravatarABC is 50/50.

Wow! I didn't know liar was specifically forbidden. I heard at least two callers on C-SPAN say "Kerry was too weak/wouldn't stand up for himself and call Bush a liar. How can he defend our country."

Scumbags.

GravatarThe slack-jawed yokels from Free Republic are freeping the Ms. Magazine poll on the Kerry/Bush debate. Shall we "help" them?

Click

GravatarUnfortunately it looks as though most americans think Bush won, and won BIG TIME.
Dave, in the contest for most facial tics, it was a slam dunk for Bush

GravatarOh, here's the URL for the Ms. Magazine poll:

www.msmagazine.com/debate_poll.asp

GravatarCNN poll no workie. Starts loading, hangs up. MSNBC OK, though.

GravatarAnyone else but me surprised by the quality of the debate? I think it was done very well, both sides had equal and adequate oportunity to make and rebut arguments. Because of this we really kicked his chimp ass. Bring on the next two.

Gravatarhttp://www.time.com/time/

GravatarWhile you're at it, another AOL poll...

http://aolsvc.news.aol.com/ elect...609990001#polls

GravatarRepeat after me: Online "polls" are a complete waste of time.

Spend the time instead emailing someone you know who is undecided, or a Bush leaner who is "persuadable," and explaining why they should vote for Kerry.

Gravatarp.s. bogus online "polls" are even more of a waste of time after a debate, when the networks are all doing *real,* scientific polls. I bet they won't even report the bullshit online stuff (though their web teams must be thrilled with the traffic they're getting).

GravatarIt looks as though Kerry's ass is cooked. He stunk up the house something awful. I'm ashamed to ne a Democrat.

Gravatari'm depressed...kerry sucked.

GravatarUnfortunately it looks as though Dave has been smoking crack... BIG TIME.

GravatarTime poll; Kery 51.7 Bush 45.6
http://www.time.com/time/

GravatarTroll Alert!

GravatarWow, the trolls are desperate.

GravatarKerry embarrassed me. I have practically given up my reputation as a respected economist in his support...and this lousy performance is my reward??? What a fucking loser.

GravatarWhat would we do without our trolls to make life merry?

Gravatar"p.s. bogus online "polls" are even more of a waste of time after a debate, when the networks are all doing *real,* scientific polls. I bet they won't even report the bullshit online stuff (though their web teams must be thrilled with the traffic they're getting)."

Whatever--if all the online polls show Kerry winning the debate, it will help cement the media's perception of a Kerry upswing. Please vote!

GravatarThat was very interesting. People who expected a firm Bush and a defensive Kerry got just the opposite. Now to see what the media spin is...

GravatarThe trolls just saw the face of their doom but, as usual, are too cowardly to admit it.

You're all done, face it.

GravatarBush's low point, and typical Shrub arrogance, was ducking the question about whether Kery win would result in more terror attacks. "I think I'm gonna win," so no need to answer Cheney's charges.
Kerry's low point and dumb wording: about a "global test" for pre-emptive strike. Bush jumped on that one pretty effectively and painted Kerry as wanting that European permission slip.
Overall, Kerry took Shrub to school, took his lunch money AND ate his lunch!

GravatarVote here too please!!!
http://kutv.com/topstories/ local_story_274162448.html

GravatarBe careful on that Time poll - it asks who WILL win. I couldn't find who DID win. Still Kerry ahead.

JFK kicked ass.

GravatarFrom the first blink to the last Bush showed himself to be a world-class marvel. So weak on his feet without a script and yet president of the planet's only superpower. He was demolished.

I loved the whole let's-hide-these-lights set-up. Kerry was a like a clock with a succinct summary right on the mark every time. Bush couldn't get more than 15 seconds in before he started repeating himself and the lights were right there to remind us how long he had to squirm.

Last thing: ABC showed split screen w/ heads level so an extra six inches of Bush's podium showed. They're going to hate that. He looked like a kid on oversized furniture.

Thanks for the unscientific poll links. They matter. MSNBC caved to the pressure after a single day.

Stick it, fucksticks.

GravatarI cannot find the FOX or USA Today Poll on this. However the MSNBC poll with 360,000 votes has it:
Kerry 71% Bush 29%

Wooohooo!

GravatarDU has an excellent list of polls/media contacts for your post-debate enjoyment.

http:// www.democraticunderground...2x927474#928164

GravatarI was disappointed Kerry didn't zing Bush when he stated the biggest threat to America being a nuke in the hands of a terrahist group and yet justifying Missle Defence in the same breath.

GravatarI was disappointed Kerry didn't zing Bush when he stated the biggest threat to America being a nuke in the hands of a terrahist group and yet justifying Missle Defence in the same breath.

GravatarBush made countless moronic statements and looked bewildered and weak through much of his blabbering.

The trolls out here spewing their vomit and sadness certainly are a sign of Fearless Leader's obvious emperor with no clothes Bullshit for all to see.

Same olde talking point crap without addressing reality. Same old Bushitism, no clarity, no presidential demeanor, even tried his "I am just an ordinary man phony crap", but no substance. No leadership. No track record. No wisdom. No tolerance. Spin, lies, distortions.

Kerry looked presidential. Kerry sounded presidential. Kerry sounded real, trustable, committed, mature, intelligent, informed, thoughtful, wise, honorable, and human.

The Edwards-Cheney debate will be a great moment, Darth Cheney will look like a grumpy old corruptocrat compared with the Sunshine of Johnny E.

GravatarI saw a picture of the two shaking hands on foxnews.com. Was Bush wearing lifts?!

GravatarGood lord! A "green party" person called in and said Bush was stronger, clearer and better spoken.

What an idiot. Bush fumbled and flustered and said the same 200 words over and over again.

-Maybe the caller was Ralph Nader.

GravatarThe "mixed messages" that apparently came from Kerry were straight from Bush this evening.

GravatarThe LA Times has Kerry 86.8, Bush 10. Gotta love California

GravatarBBC Poll

GravatarWhere's the FAUX poll? Kos had a link about hitting the polls as well and I couldn't find USATODAY or FAUX polls... where are they?

GravatarThe Freeers are controlling this one, 60-40

Go there now

GravatarThe Washington Post is taking comments - get on over there!

GravatarAnyone who believes that Bush won is either blind to partisanship or just a bit insane.
Even the FOX News commentators conceded Kerry looked better and Kerry supporters should be hapypy. On MSNBC even Joe Scarborough said Kerry won.

GravatarJoe is a bit more fair than some. Him and Pat have decent things to say. joe had good ideas about what Kerry could do in the debate, and he scored it fairly. He's not so bad, conservative, but a decent guy for sure.

Gravataranother poll:

GravatarFox poll is up. Bush is winning, but the numbers are small (2746 to 2273). We need to get over there.
