Dang! Did you hear the huge cheer for Kerry as he walked off stage? Bush was already gone, and Kerry got a big cheer as he waved good bye.

John Kerry did extremely well. I found myself drifting off while Bush spoke. Bush looked hunched over, with strange grimaces on his face while Kerry spoke. He looked like Nixon.
Good lord! A "green party" person called in and said Bush was stronger, clearer and better spoken.
What an idiot. Bush fumbled and flustered and said the same 200 words over and over again.
Kerry clearly knew what was going on, he understood details about every single situation in the questions. He came across a strong, collected, clear, and thoughtful.
Bush did a lot of um-ing and leaving dead air space. He wasn't impressive or convincing -- and yes, he sounded whiny. Oh well, he wasn't my first choice and I suppose it shows.

Anyone else but me surprised by the quality of the debate? I think it was done very well, both sides had equal and adequate oportunity to make and rebut arguments. Because of this we really kicked his chimp ass. Bring on the next two.

Bush's low point, and typical Shrub arrogance, was ducking the question about whether Kery win would result in more terror attacks. "I think I'm gonna win," so no need to answer Cheney's charges.
Kerry's low point and dumb wording: about a "global test" for pre-emptive strike. Bush jumped on that one pretty effectively and painted Kerry as wanting that European permission slip.
Overall, Kerry took Shrub to school, took his lunch money AND ate his lunch!

From the first blink to the last Bush showed himself to be a world-class marvel. So weak on his feet without a script and yet president of the planet's only superpower. He was demolished.
I loved the whole let's-hide-these-lights set-up. Kerry was a like a clock with a succinct summary right on the mark every time. Bush couldn't get more than 15 seconds in before he started repeating himself and the lights were right there to remind us how long he had to squirm.
Last thing: ABC showed split screen w/ heads level so an extra six inches of Bush's podium showed. They're going to hate that. He looked like a kid on oversized furniture.
Thanks for the unscientific poll links. They matter. MSNBC caved to the pressure after a single day.

Anyone who believes that Bush won is either blind to partisanship or just a bit insane.
Even the FOX News commentators conceded Kerry looked better and Kerry supporters should be hapypy. On MSNBC even Joe Scarborough said Kerry won.
Joe is a bit more fair than some. Him and Pat have decent things to say. joe had good ideas about what Kerry could do in the debate, and he scored it fairly. He's not so bad, conservative, but a decent guy for sure.
