Kerry ripped 20 new Bush assholes. No way around it. DON'T let the sold-out media spin this into some kind of a "prez resolute on message blah lie etc." The alledged prez looked like a monkey on Zoloft and made NO sense. It is so sad for the greatest country to be mis-lead by such a feeble-minded moron.

My friends and family know my party affiliation and tease/mention my vote. I want you to know how difficult it is to put on a republican face and attempt to defend my party knowing that when I go into the voting booth I will cast my vote for Mr. Kerry.
It also pains me to contribute to Mr Kerry's victory. I have to admire his dedication but do not understand why in the world anyone would want to take on the "Iraq" disaster. This speaks volumes about his courage. With my vote I would feel responsible in giving John Kerry the duty and task of cleaning up "W's" quagmire....and there again, someone is cleaning up another one of "W's" mess.
For the first time, as a voter I see my responsibility to choose wisely on four years of facts rather than on past allegiance or ideology.

Has anyone heard information about the number of people who watched the debate tonight? The media's attempt to diminish Kerry's victory should be neutralized somewhat if they're saying "it was a draw," but 50 million people know what they saw and heard with their own eyes and ears.
The debate showed that we have a weak man in office now. A weak, inarticulate man running the most powerful country in history. But the debate also showed what a real president looks and sounds and acts like.

choice line that flabergasted even me, and one we should hear more about than we are:
Mr. Kerry Well, first of all, I appreciate enormously the personal comments the president just made, and I share them with him. I think only if you've - if you're doing this, and he's done it more than I have in terms of the presidency, can you begin to get a sense of what it means to your families. And it's tough. And so I acknowledge - his daughters, I've watched them, I've chuckled a few times at some of their comments. And -
Mr. Bush Trying to put a leash on them.his own daughters? no wonder it ends up as policy

John Kerry finally showed America what he's made of in his first debate with George Bush. While the President evaded most of the questions, stopped and stuttered, and stumbled over his talking point notes, Senator Kerry presented a clearcut case as to why he would do a better job at winning the war on terror. The best judge of this interpretation would be President Bush himself who proved Senator Kerry right in his assessment that Iraq was a detour in the war against Al Qaeda when he couldn't even remember Osama bin Laden's name.

And that's what we're doing. We've got 100,000 trained now, 125,000 by the end of this year, 200,000 by the end of next year
From MSNBC September 24
"The Pentagon also said on Monday that only about 53,000 of the 100,000 Iraqis on duty now have undergone training.
The documents, obtained by Reuters, show that of the nearly 90,000 currently in the police force, only 8,169 have had the full eight-week academy training. And it will be July 2006 before the administration’s new goal of 135,000 fully trained police is met."

Kerry is a "details" man. He may not be pretty, or hugely charismatic, but he knows how to read up on a subject. He is obviously the kind of man who would base his leadership on knowledge.
This type of person tends to be very poor at campaign politics simply because they tend to believe that "all truths are self evident" and are often oblivious to the need for presentation.
The solution, as I see it, is this: arm Kerry with the facts and just have him repeat them over and over. No fancy stunts, no "cult of personality", just the facts.
This is what worked so well lest night.

George Bush: You're confusing me
John Kerry: Simple sound-bite worthy truth.
George Bush: Won't someone please think of the Children (okay, he said troops and allies, but it felt the same).

The "training" (for, say, cops) is done by Beltway Bandit companies - gummint contractors sucking on the Pentagon's teat. Sometimes they hire competent people to send to Iraq, oft times they just get warm bodies.
I personally know of one of those people now in Baghdad "training Iraqi police." He's an ex-cop from a rural Alabama town who quit his small town police job after getting himself and his town sued for -- while on-the-job -- sexually harassing and assaulting young women. He's scum. The cases (there were several) have recently settled.
Now, either his employer didn't even bother to check this creep's background OR (just as bad, if not worse) it *did* check his background and just didn't care.
THAT'S an example of some of the people over in Iraq "training" Iraqi police.
God help us all.

The things a fustercluck, and the country hates us. Allawi is a U.S. puppet (and having Dubya's speechwrtiters write his speech here confirmes this). But that's immaterial; what matters is what the Iraqis think of Allawi, and he's dead meat there. Any real popular leader there will be anti-American, and we can either have an indefinite and bloody occupation/puppet-regime or we can have a more democratic regime that's a sworn enemy (those are the good alternatives; the bad ones include outright civil war and worse). Thank you, Bush. You made this possible.
