- he won't take his physical
- seems like he's undergone a noticeable mental deterioration
- the mystery bulge under the clothes
- he's stopped running
- the sag on the left side of his face
- a lot of scary-ass pictures of his face floating around lately
- and now he's taking time off, even just one day, 10 days before the election?
What really made me come around to believing this was the fact that he quit running. They say it's a knee problem, but I don't buy it. Running was the closest thing to Jesus for him -- he's more proud of his 5-K times than anything else he's ever done in his life.

Local newspapers here in Jacksonville, Florida have been reporting that Bush will be at a rally in Jax sometime on Saturday, mid day. Must be going off to Crawford, or parts unknown, after that.

If he's going to be in Florida Saturday, I don't get why he would drag his ass all the way out to Crawford for the night. It sounds like another of those surprises where the plane from Florida takes off in another direction, and he pops up in Kabul or Baghdad on Sunday morning. OTOH, Baghdad is way too dangerous, and going to Afghanistan would just remind people that OBL is still on the loose. So WTF is going on? Maybe he really just wants to relax and ride his bike? well, JK is coming to Pueblo, CO this Saturday. As I was at the office handing out tickets, they said Bush is coming back to Colo. Springs. This county shoud be a dead-on, rock-solid, no-doubt sweep for him -- it's not!

The evangelicals, which are a gigantic demographic here, might not let the state turn, but they are gonna have to work for it. I'm from Meridian originally, and that is one depressingly backward town, even if some of the houses are pretty. My relatives there cite locals sighing & saying things like "I'd take a bullet for [GWB]", which seems to me to be a waste of a perfectly good piece of lead... or maybe not.

The difference between Tupelo schools and the schools in Itawamba and Monroe County were startling back when I was in high shcool. And the Klan's never had much hold in that part of the state. I remember a rally in Plantersville once...maybe 30 people showed up, and it was reported as the biggest Klan rally since the '60s. I got a small shot of pride out of that, weird pride though it was.

And I feel your pain about being from the unincorpirated part of a county. There's more people in my apartment complex than there was in my home town. Had to drive 35 miles to go to school. Wouldn't trade it for the world, though. Best part is when it gets dark out there - because there's no street lights or lights from town - brother, it gets dark.

Bush is off the ticket, and John McCain is taking his place as the Republican candidate for President. He has selected Joe Lieberman as his running-mate, who's switched parties quitely overnight. Bush makes a public statement that he felt "the country needs steady leadership, and I know McCain/Lieberman will provide it".
Not gonna happen, but I do wonder about his going to the ranch. I'd say either it's a cover for him going someplace else (maybe Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.) as many here have postulated, or it's to make some sort of big announcement. My bet's on a big announcement of some sort, but I have no idea what. I just don't think a trip to the war zones would tip the scales enough.

Starkville does suck much. However, the ag school makes some great cheese, some of the best I've ever had. And for a while at least, their chem lab was top notch.
And the high school once had a band director who figures in one of those little stories one hears that sticks with you, at least it did with me. He was an excellent trombone player and someone asked him how much he practiced. He replied that he always practiced one hour faithfully every day, unless he was sick. Then he practiced two hours, because when you're sick, you don't get as much accomplished in the same time.

I still think it's Hepatitis C contracted when he was doing cocaine. The treatment for Hep C is awful- like having a case of flu every weekend. I don't know how far into liver failure he is, thought: his eyes (sclera) don't seem jaundiced from what I can tell. But maybe it's just the pictures I've seen.

The Medical Hypothesis - It makes sense to me that Bush would go to Crawford to have some kind of needed covert medical check done, but then again, doesn't the white house have, like, fully operational surgical theatres in the fuckin closets? I guess the theory is that the movements of doctors and so forth would be more noticable in the panopticon of DC. If this hypothesis were true, I suspect it wouldn't be his heart. I'd expect he's getting some kind of treatment to manage his pre-senile dementia and the potential tests that need to be done are neurological.
2.) The Baghdad Hypothesis - For those of us who think an Iraq trip would be interpretted as a transparently political and pathetic campaign trick, I say you misunderestimate Mr. Rove. Obviously, if he just showed up and handled some frozen turkeys, it'd be pathetic, but they wouldn't do that, now would they? The question we must explore, if were are to truly aspire to tin-hat greatness, is what would they have him do there that WOULD make it a political plus? Personally sit down with Saddam and bitch-slap him? Strap on a codpiece and sidearm to mercilessly hunt down and slay Zarqawi? Seriously, if they're gonna do it, there's gonna be a catch. What is it? Maybe not even Bagdhad. Maybe somewhere else?

I'd expect he's getting some kind of treatment to manage his pre-senile dementia and the potential tests that need to be done are neurological.

They know they need every possible military vote to have a chance with this thing. They're not entirely stupid. They see the same polls we do.
