I'MMA LET YOU FINISH

So clean, so fresh...

Frist!

I can't get the page to refresh when you put up a single post (I came in through the back door).

Two open threads at once?

GravatarOld Hat - don't rub it in - I crossed posted with Atrios and I feel sheepish.

GravatarI'm sort of new here--what's the difference between the "evening thread" and the "open thread"?

Don't wanna commit no faux pas.

GravatarOh my GAWD, Tena! I'll never read anything you write EVAR.

GravatarDid I kill it?

GravatarEr, nevermind.

This is weird.

GravatarWow! So many clean threads to choose from... I'll have a little of each, please!

GravatarWe Are Not Terrorists!

GravatarAnd the winner is... Tena's thread!!!

GravatarHey "pie" glad to see you practicing your keyboarding skills in this thread. I hope someday you learn to compose with that keyboard too - 'til then, I will continue to enjoy your trite, meaningless comments and contrast them with the thoughtful posts that most users leave here. Perhaps you could dazzle us with your technical command of the Internet and other worldly computer skills,

GravatarMy computer has gone Eve Plumb-loco. The wolf packs post was from me!

GravatarPerhaps you could dazzle us with your technical command of the Internet and other worldly computer skills

Nah, not so much.

I hurt a troll's feelinz.

I'm desolate.

GravatarMr. Bill = America's Mammary = troll

GravatarFirst I felt sorry for Tena for cross-posting (not that there's anything wrong with it!)... now I feel sorry for Atrios' thread 'cause Tena's is more popular!

Hey guys - I love you both! Group hug!!!

Gravatar"Paging America's Nemesis...paging America's Nemesis, pick up the white phone in the concourse please. Your swatting skills are in demand."

(Not that you don't handle a flyswatter masterfully your own damn self, pie. You're great with the devastating one-liner, especially in your own defense. It's just I'd really enjoy hearing AN's take as well; I enjoy his postings.)

Gravatarlooks like there must be more sensible places on the Internet to be tonight -- Usually, the comments here reflect fairly insightful observations and opinions and, considering the polical nature of most comments, are fairly tolerant of others. It seems many here believe that a troll is someone that has a different point of view. I am sure that come next week, when there is real news to discuss, the comments here will become more meaningful. Until then, I hope pie, dr penant, and the various "anonymous" have fun with their online "pissing" contest. In the end, however, it is just so much urine.

Gravatarsnuff goes mainstream:

last night i went to my favorite taco truck for a bite to eat. while waiting for my order i scanned the bootleg dvds for sale. i noticed the cover of one showing a hooded man wearing an orange jumpsuit and several black clad and hooded individuals in the backround.
i asked the guy selling the dvds what it was about as the title was in spanish. he said it contained all of the iraq beheadings downloaded from the internet plus other gruesome stuff from the war.
the translated title is: the real faces of death. $5 a copy.

Gravatarnice cruelruler -- i'm sure roger stone is the mastermind behind that iraqi faces of death crap being sold

Gravatarharold trevor - you're a parody right? you have to be.

GravatarIn the end, however, it is just so much urine.

If you watched CSI the other night, troll, urine played a most interesting role.

GravatarNo wonder everyone went to Tena's post. You guys are sicko.

GravatarNice jab, tena, your hot tonight -- must have a stronger stream than the rest of us. I just pray that the wind doesn't change direction while you impress us with your powerful bladder and incredible control over bodily functions!

GravatarMr. Bill: All due respect, fuck off.

No, seriously. Fuck off.

Gravatar[...]

"Also, consider this Constitution and the oath I have taken this many times to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. This Constitution provides for adequate oversight. It gives the Congress the power, the oversight. This bill will, to a considerable extent, take away that power. I am not seeking to undermine the intelligence reforms proposed by the Governmental Affairs Committee. I seek only to ensure that the Congress retain its oversight functions in intelligence and national security matters. We owe it to the people who had faith and confidence in us and who sent us here. "

[...]

"We owe it to the victims of the September 11 attack and their families to get these reforms straight and to take time to study and debate them. Why not take more time? It would be a sad legacy if the suffering of these victims of the September 11 attack, it would be a sad legacy if their suffering and loss resulted not in the strengthening but in the weakening of our national security and intelligence service, leaving more Americans vulnerable to a terrorist attack. In summary, it is a critical mistake to hand to an unelected intelligence chief nearly unfettered budget transfer authority. We are handing off the ability to exercise oversight. When we do that, we cannot determine whether congressional intent for the people's tax dollars has been met. We will not know about transfers until some time, perhaps, after the fact. Millions of dollars--nay, billions of dollars--could be moved around at the discretion of one man, an unelected figure, with no one the wiser. Resources could be switched from one area of the world to another area of the globe at the discretion of one man. Secret operations could be funded without the prior knowledge of any Member of Congress at the discretion of one man. This is one-man rule. Intelligence could be manipulated by one man, with discretion concerning where to take away secret resources and where to add them. Absolute power, Senators just heard, corrupts absolutely, and the United States is about to aid and abet that truism. Senators, Republicans and Democrats, we will rue the day when, because of rushing and posturing and hurrying, we created a spy chief with such awesome power. I ask unanimous consent to add the names of Senator Leahy, Senator Dorgan, and Senator Burns as cosponsors."

Gravataryour hot tonight

You're not, kid.

Gravatar"harold trevor" troll

Lemme guess... Sophomore?

GravatarWhy thanks silleigh -- it is an honor to be told, with all due respect, to f@ck off -- posting that remark here is not as "classy" as making the proclaimation on the senate floor -- but pretty good stuff. Glad you speak Cheney's language and I am sure you are just as credible too! Thanks again

Gravatarthat was me at 7:48 quoting senator byrd, sounding the alarm about 9/11 recommendations and intelligence reorganization.

Gravatary -

Thanks for that post. I love Senator Byrd, he's a true patriot and a hero.

My hope (and I think it's not just sunny optimism) is that President Kerry will do everything he can to undo the hideous intelligence shenanigans going on right now. Porter Goss will be kicked to the curb, where he belongs.

GravatarMr. Bill, always happy to oblige, especially when you feel the urge to jump down Pie's throat with your own "trite, meaningless" comments. Really, come to me for a nice big Cheneyesque heapin' helpin' of FUCK YOU anytime at all -- especially since your "u" key seems to have developed problems.

(Sorry, all, I'm just really not in the mood for pompous asses tonight.)

Gravatar0ct. 25. 2004

Isreal bombs Iranian nuke site.
just one to send message.
Bush strongly supports it.
Kerry is left mumbling about supporting Isreal, effectively neutralized in "bush is all
wrong in foreign policy".
Bush gains just enough credibility back to eke out a win.

How's that for an Oct. surprise?

Gravatarshoot, homepage didn't work.

here is the link for the byrd speech.

GravatarWell, I am sure that if you went to a public school, it was a very humbling experience -- what with all those people that learn big words, can do math, and actually listen to another human being. No, its much better to be a "know-it-all" and react profanely to anyone you might think you disagree with -- even before you have taken the time to look at (much less) think about what they say. Sorry if I come across as "pompous," but I didn't want to sink to the level of our vice-president. I will remember you kind offer, however, and will look for you here anytime I want to get "Cheney's best retort." Oh, no need for an apology -- I have seen your comments here before and you are just being your regular self tonight, so please drop the BS excuses. I guess there aren't enough trolls here tonight and people like you just need someone to go off on. Glad I could be of some service to you tonight -- though I believe that there are usually much more sensible comments posted here than what you have to offer tonight. Best wishes!

Gravatar{Mr. Bill types some crap}

You're really bored tonight, aren't you?

Gravatar{Mr. Bill types some crap}

You're really bored tonight, aren't you?

GravatarYes, just me, I am bored -- the baseball game hasn't gotten interesting yet -- and it is fun to see who has a bug up there ass about the piddly crap being posted here. I just keep the site bookmarked and check back periodically while I read some other sites. I am sure the discussion focus on more real issues another time, it is a Saturday night and it is too early here to go out for dinner yet. I am sure that come Monday -- the comments here will be back to their usual, thoughtful level. Until then, please keep me amused with your wit and amazed with your keyboarding and computer skills. Thanks again!

GravatarIt's just I'd really enjoy hearing AN's take as well; I enjoy his postings.)

Um... er... Poopy head?

Sorry, I was distracted by something else entirely. Add OneClickPC to PCParts.com as an online dealer you really don't want to deal with

*sighs*

Oh well, at least I know what job AM does now. He's whacking off over Tena and Pie instead of paying attention to incoming orders at the above companies.

AM: "You didn't state which country your order should be shipped too"

ME: Yes I did. Look, it's there on the receipt

AM: "Honk honk quack, vote nader, Al sharpton, mrbillclintonsbookblog woooooHOOOOOOOOOOO"

ME: Quite. Tell me, do you have anyone in your tech department who hasn't been chasing the powdered chimp all day?

GravatarBob Novak gave the finger to Tom Davis (R) VA tonight. Anyone have a TiVo of this? My wife and I both saw it. It was in the segment on polls, I think. What a sacko. Troubled times for Rethugs. How much has Davis taken from BugmanPAC?

GravatarLet's make this the thread for trolls to post their dreck. Perhaps they can have a conversation using just GOP-approved lines?

That way they get paid their dime-a-comment by Karl, and we can enjoy the break.

Gravataryou're welcome kate. but i messed up in my postings. it's out of sync. i fixed it on tena's thread above.

byrd's warning is frightening. he's saying we're at risk giving the spy chief this much power, even with a democrat in the whitehouse.

with this kind of pressure to rushrushrush to pass the bill, suggests to me that this power grab was pre-coordinated. was the "bipartisan" reputation of the commission a sham? some real big names are questioning these security recommendations, like sam nunn.

Gravatar"Public school"???

You might want to go back and proof your posts before making asinine comments like that one. Yes, I did go to public schools. Amazingly, I can punctuate. I can also spell "proclamation," know how to create the contraction of "it is," and have no problems with subject/verb agreement -- and you couldn't force me to type a phrase like "who has a bug up there ass" at gunpoint. I'd continue but it's getting boring.

And all I needed to see was your post at 7:19 to know precisely the kind of response it deserved. I don't care what your political views are if you can't be reasonable, and anyone here who's familiar with me knows I rarely go off on people. But DO have fun entertaining yourself with your own bullshit this evening -- oops, another word that will draw your ire -- I need a shower and have company on the way, so if you go back to insulting Pie I'll have to offer you a raincheck for the "fuck yous" you'll be craving.

GravatarWhere's Mr. Sluggo when you need him?

GravatarGreat silleigh -- oh, guess if I thought you were important enough, I might be more careful with my posts -- but I just having to much fun waiting for your replys so that I can post a few of my own. I am sure we probably agree on more than we disagree on, but I am happy to keep up the discourse tonight. I am glad you are proud of your spelling and punctuation though. Please keep up the good work -- self-improvement and
personal growth are important. I hope I made you feel better tonight by letting you continually put me down with your quotes from Cheney!

Gravatarand why aren't kerry and byrd on the same page on this issue? kerry wants to pass all of the 9/11 recommendations immediately. byrd is arguing for more time to review and not to rush to abdicate congressional oversight like they abdicated their war powers.

why doesn't kerry share the same regard and concern as byrd does for preserving congress' constitutional powers? vital in maintaining checks and balance against executive power.

GravatarJust a heads up for Jon Stewart on c-span in a couple min.
-

Gravatarsilleigh,

One of the distinguishing characteristics of this particular-troll-of-very-little-brain-but-many- names is his insistence on the last word. He'll keep going all night, if you let him.

Just sayin'

GravatarCan we all get along...please?

GravatarShut up! Everybody just shut the fuck up! We run all the threads here, and you may not express a different opinion!

Gravatarsee?

GravatarCan't we all get a long what?

GravatarSilleigh -- in case you can't tell, I haven't actually read your posts. The Cheney quotes stand out, however, and I am just responding to that. Don't take it personal -- I am not even reading what you have to "say." Usually, there are interesting ideas and links shared in the Eschaton comments. Must be other important things going on tonight. I will check back to see if you tell me to "F@ck-Off" again. If you want me to read your childish replys -- please keep them short. It doesn't matter, though, I can go on all night like this (or at least until I find more sensible comments here or other Websites that are worth reading. Until then, please keep posting something with your name on it, preferably in bold, so I don't have to read your crap too! Thanks and I am glad that I could relieve some stress for you tonight!

GravatarDid you know we're all sympathetic to Al Qaeda, folks?

Some asshole was on C-Span today pluggng his book that states that lie.

Gee, maybe someone should fix him up with (M)ann Coulter!

GravatarWhat the crap is it over here with this 'Mr. Bill' clown? Jeeze, no wonder everybody's closed down the joint and left.

Trolls. Whatever will they do on the 3rd?

Gravatar"sreal bombs Iranian nuke site.
just one to send message.
Bush strongly supports it.
Kerry is left mumbling about supporting Isreal, effectively neutralized in "bush is all

I'm SICK of hearing about Israel.
We have enough problems here to clean up - fuck Israel!

GravatarThis thread - more specifically, "Mr Bill"'s posts to this thread - should be preserved as the dictionary definition of "trolling".
I've never seen such a content-free, almost Platonicly ideal "troll" before.

Gravatar"THEY SHALL NOT PASS"

GravatarPeople around Eschaton have a strange definition of troll. The Interactive Glossary of Internet Terms deines a troll as:

GravatarI still want to know who's god was lying to whom...Dubya's or Robertson's. I never did get that figured out.

GravatarTeds: supporting Israel means supporting Israel. People who respond to that kind of question with insane hallucinations about how a rapist has the right to defend himself from his victims are not going to mumble, but cheer, when the perpetual inherent victim fights back.

Terry C: yeah, it gets really tiring hearing about Israel, Iraqi casualties, Moon and his cult, peak oil, the inefficacy of USAPATRIOT, and all the other things the media is keeping us so aware of.

GravatarSome of the loud mouthed rightwingers that infest the otherwise decent blog at politica1 are talking to each other about something big breaking on Monday.

One or two of them are insiders. I'm a little concerned. Anyone know anything??? (They said it might be a front page story in one of the Monday editions of one of the Washington newspapers.)

They may just be blowing smoke.... but (unfortunately) I got the impression from their comments that they might really know something.

Has anyone heard anything?

GravatarI viewed something very positive today. Elizabeth Edwards was on C-Span at a Pennsylvania town-hall meeting - Up front, she informed the audience that no question was off limits - to ask her anything - and boy, she sure did answer everything - in depth and with figures - she covered every issue from health care to nuclear proliferation and everything else in between - but the important thing is that she actually covered all issues better than Kerry or her hubby as to depth and clarity. She's our secret weapon.
