I'MMA LET YOU FINISH

GravatarOh.

Hunh.

GravatarPost the full headers please..

GravatarConsidering what gets spewed forth by freepers on a regular basis, i wuld have thought that the phrase "Illiterate Republican" was kind of a redundancy

oh, and "frist"

GravatarSecond!!!

Good thing fake Lockhart can't spell.

Gravatar"would," even

Gravatarare dopplegangers illiterate?

Gravatarafter the elction I will no longers surf the internets

Gravatarcant support him any longers? morans..

GravatarYou'd think someone smart enough to know how to spoof an e-mail address would be smart enough to know how to use a spell checker.

GravatarWhy are hoaxes always riddled with spelling and grammar errors? This is true with those anti-black voter flyers and even those emails from Nigeria? Is it considered more "authentic?"

Gravatarhe mey bee eliderit, but i bet preznit giv him turkee.

GravatarTo all Amercans?
Chief of Staffand President?
The Encumbent?
I can't in good consciousness support him any longers?

Is this some strange kind of practical joke? Or is some second grader pretending to be Joe Lockhart? What the hell is going on?

GravatarJoementum v2.0

GravatarI thought O'Reilly was the Encumbent.

GravatarPost the full headers please..

Agreed. It would be interesting to trace the origin of the email, assuming it didn't come from a zombie.

Gravatarheader please

Gravatarit's OBL

Gravatarsame writer as the Ms. Harrington's lawyer?

GravatarDamn! How could I have misilliterated encumbint?

GravatarWhat the hell is going on?

i've been asking myself that question about 789 times a day for the last 4 years.

Gravatarand the freepers will say that it really was Joe Lockhart, pretending to be someone pretending to be Joe Lockhart -- just so the Democrats can accuse the Republican's of dirty tricks.

GravatarHeh. This one comes from the heart, I guess. Not from the head, anyway.

Gravataryes, header please.

Gravatari thought you said June Lockhart?

GravatarSomebody found the crack stash at Dem HQ.

GravatarJoe Lockhart...

I can't imagine anyone wanting to fuck that rat.

GravatarHmmmm. Looks like they published "The Onion" early this week.

GravatarI wonder what mailing list they use. It would be interesting to see if that can be traced and a corrxn sent to every recipient -- that would then REALLY backfire.

Not a computer whiz myself

GravatarJoe is Joel's evil twin. Or mini-me.

Gravatarconsciousness???

So at his higher spiritual level he (Bizarro-Lockhart) achieves Nirvana and pulls the fascist lever.

At least his conscience won't bother him...

Gravatarha.ha.

GravatarI suppose it is impossible that the rat was masturbating?

GravatarI second the earlier motion.

Can we have the headers, Atrios?

GravatarHey, Condi-honey!

Heh-heh! I used the internets to pretend I was Joe Lockhart.

GravatarAnd the footers. I love the footers.

Gravatarjust wanted to say a quick hi and thanks to Atrios, Old Hat, Incognito, Tena, Pie and so many others who have entertained and educated me over the past year!
Go Kerry!

GravatarEncumbent President

...We need the Encumbent president to become the Recumbent President.

GravatarCheck CNN - the rest of the Bin Laden tape has been released and it's not good for GWB - he says that the USA is operating on emergency funds because GWB is squandering their wealth. He says to spare your children and wealth and not to follow "the liar".

GravatarAnd here we are back at square one:

- "Anonymous" trolls coming up with witless one-liners;

-and mis-spelled lame "dirty-tricks" attempted via the 'internets'.

Lordy, the Goopers have devolved right before our eyes. The meltdown is imminent, and they know it.

Can't wait for tomorrow's endgame - when the curtain falls and Chimpy McBackhump hears "You're Fired!".

GravatarDear Frind,

I worked for the Mr. George W. Bush for many years in a hig government position with extensive work in the government and have come into millions of dollars ($) that I need to get out of the US and to a bank in Nigeria.

Can you please help me?

I know this is a great imposition on such a grand personage as yourself and would with great humility and honor be willing to provide to you at a rate that does not include the taxes of 10% of the amount that I would like to get to Nigeria.

If you are willing to help me then nod your head. Then send me an email telling me that you nodded your head.

Your esteemed colleauge and humbled servant in the Grand Old Party,

Karl Rove, Esquire

GravatarThis is too good - a story that GWB as a business person looked for business with Saddam Hussein!!!

GravatarKerry in a landslide!

GravatarSoghanalian recalled in half a dozen phone interviews with the Voice that he met with a business associate of W's whose full name he cannot recall but who, like Soghanalian, was Armenian. The meeting was arranged, he says, by a friend who was a leader in Armenian charity circles. Soghanalian recalls that the business associate told him: "George W. Bush wants to do business in Iraq."

Gravatar"Unfortunately, I was pretty high-profile at the time," says Soghanalian, "and everyone was trying to get close to me. Why would I want their business? I knew his father. What did I need him for?" Soghanalian, who had a stopover in Newark on his way to Baghdad, says he can't remember any specifics about the suggested business. The businessman, he said, "was sent on behalf of Bush" and "said to me, 'This is an important man.' " Soghanalian claims that the man told him that W had "a lot of contacts overseas" and that Soghanalian replied: "I have contacts too. I don't need more contacts." Soghanalian says he has known the senior Bush since at least 1976, when Bush was CIA director. Soghanalian has had such a long-standing CIA relationship that David Armstrong of the National Security News Service calls him the agency's "arms dealer of choice."

Soghanalian says Bush's representative continued to "chase me around" after the airport meeting. Living in an overseas location he did not want disclosed, the 300-pound, 75-year-old legendary dealer said: "I am not where I am and have never been where I was." Though he volunteered the story of the Newark solicitation, he expressed concerns about "angering" the Bushes and repeatedly cut off later interviews, citing health concerns.

GravatarThe spelling gig - filling out my ballot here in Phoenix, three columns of deeply obscure and utterly vital competitions. Two of them involving schools, the local elementary/secondary group and the second, high schools; and son of a bitch, in the first, 60% of the candidates in their self-representations CANNOT SPELL, and in the second, 40%. I admit it - I'm prissy. But Chuy! A candidate for the school board who cannot spell?????

All politics is local, mijos. Too many bad people have gotten their start in school board elections. Make them spell correctly! Punctuation for everyone! Solidardidad para siempre!

GravatarIf it had been in all caps then people wouldn't even request the headers...

Gravatardissenter,
Sounds like you got the goods on him this time!

GravatarWhat a bunch of wankers the wingers on.

They couldn't find their own dicks with a map.

GravatarFalstaff you beat me to it...but then I wondered about the Encumbent becoming the Encumbered - encumbered with an invitation to defend his actions in front of the International Court of Justice, for example...

GravatarI am sitting in my office cubicle in Alabama.

as I type I hear two highly-paid government IT contractors on the other side of the cubicle fence agreeing that there's no point to voting in the Presidential election.

GravatarSoghanalian replied: "I have contacts too. I don't need more contacts."

I guess he got that Lasek surgury.

GravatarPost. the. freaking. headers.

GravatarI'd have to be unconscious to vote for Bush, too.

all of them in good time, of course; but kissinger first.

GravatarI can't type today- it's what I get for trying to juggle two computers at once.

I meant to say, what a bunch of wankers they are.

But you guys knew that.

GravatarWe can no longer support John Kerry in good consciousness either, because
we shall become fucking blitzed at the time of the celebrating of Kerry's landslide.

but he'll still wind up in the White House.

Just like last time.

So, what are YOU going to do about it?

Gravataralabama contractors not voting? say it ain't so!!

If there really were a god, he'd rapture all the little winger fuck tonight and save us all the anxiety.

Anyone have that number?

GravatarYes, "FreedomGuy"...

GravatarI have a Crack Smoking Curs velvet painting hanging in my family room.

GravatarI just read the entire bin Laden tape and it really isn't good for Bush - it is amazing. I don't know what is going on or why the hell he'd do this unless he's tired of all the killing, which - I know, it's OBL, he's a monster - but I think that has been the goal, at least in part. It's a pretty breathtaking read, really.

GravatarEncumbent President

...We need the Encumbent president to become the Recumbent President.
Falstaff

he'd prolly fall off that too

GravatarMiss T, I pity the fool who thinks Bush is going back to the White House. That's just a bunch of jibba'-jabba'!

p.s. Stay off school and stay in drugs.

GravatarCrack smoking curs.

It's either a band name, or the title of some pulp novel about drug-addled werewolves

GravatarAll politics is local, mijos. Too many bad people have gotten their start in school board elections

Truer words were ne'er spoken!

GravatarCrack smoking curs

What a great name for a band! I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP.

GravatarI read parts of the OBL tape, and the guy is pretty honest about what he wants and provides a decent critique of Bush's failures.

So, in some ways, I agree with the freepers when they say OBL is spouting DNC talking points. They are technically correct.

Then they make the Magical Logic leap to OBL = Kerry. Of course.

GravatarMiss T, I pity the fool who thinks Bush is going back to the White House. That's just a bunch of jibba'-jabba'!

p.s. Stay off school and stay in drugs.

GravatarWherewolves?

There. Wolf.

I love those puppies.

Well, the Christian religion does teach that no one is beyond redemption...right, Jerry?

It's funny how the Right takes him at face value when he "endorses" Bush (by not endorsing him, natch), but treats him as totally insincere in everything else he says. It must be nice to be able to read a madman's mind so infallibly.

Gravatar"THEY SHALL NOT PASS"

GravatarWhy can't republicans spell correctly?

GravatarOBL is just annoyed with Bush since he turned out to be such a pussy.

GravatarI think it's supposed to be a joke - they meant to mispelle.
ya think?

GravatarThe freepers are spinning the OBL tape to say that states that vote for Bush will get nailed. They discuss the meaning of a particular Arabic term (just like some preachers like to drop the H-bomb (some irrelevant Hebrew word or expression) in the middle of sermons to provide a veneer of education over their pasteboard ideas).

Then they publish the transcript and there is no way it could be interpreted to mean "blue states are safe".

GravatarOBL --> born again?

GravatarOBL is just annoyed with Bush since he turned out to be such a pussy.

It was basically a "Is that the best you got?" jab.

GravatarI agree with the freepers when they say OBL is spouting DNC talking points. They are technically correct.

I wonder how they read the anti-Bush stuff from FT or the Economist or Pat Buchanan...do they all = OBL too?

Personally, I think that when OBL has a better grasp of your president's ability's than you do, it's time to be scared shitless.

BTW, has it occurred to anyone else that the people most frightened by BushCo's terrorism talk are also the people least likely to visit a polling place tomorrow?

GravatarI read parts of the OBL tape, and the guy is pretty honest about what he wants and provides a decent critique of Bush's failures.

...Right up there with the unibomber manifesto. OBL=Dead Man Walking. Kerry's job #1, scrag OBL's ass.

Gravatar"THEY SHALL NOT PASS"

Like a frickin golfball sized kidney stone.

GravatarThen they publish the transcript and there is no way it could be interpreted to mean "blue states are safe".

And if it could, so much the worse for BushCo. His supporters have demonstrated that they're sniveling chickenshits who'll buy safety at any price.

GravatarFrom the Center for Public Integrity:

WASHINGTON, November 1, 2004 - Sen. John F. Kerry may have a $24.8 million advantage over President George W. Bush in pursuing any recounts that result from Tuesday's election, according to the campaigns' most recent financial filings.

Under Federal Election Commission rules, both candidates are allowed to use remaining funds from their primary election committees to conduct recount activities, which in Kerry's case amounts to just under $45 million. That compares to just more than $16 million left over in the Bush/Cheney primary election committee's coffers.

To read the full report log on to http://www.publicintegrity.org.

Also at the Center for Public Integrity:

The Abu Ghraib Supplementary Documents New installment of classified documents shows abuses at other prison camps

WASHINGTON, October 31, 2004 - Classified documents, obtained and posted by the Center for Public Integrity, reveal the extent to which problems at Abu Ghraib prison were mirrored in other confinement camps in Iraq. Above all, what emerges from the documents is a picture of troops tasked beyond their ability, lacking adequate training, support or supplies and hampered by inadequate or non-existent communication across different units and levels of command.

This second group of documents, including but not limited to supplements from Major General Anthony Taguba's investigation into the abuse of detainees, offer one of the most revealing accounts to date of the several prison camps run by the U.S. military in Iraq and Kuwait.

GravatarIf Kerry gets OBL in six months, that would be cool.

I wonder if some CIA dudes are sitting on it like Bill Casey sitting on the Iranian hostages til Reagan inaugarated. I know, I know.

Heard Carter interviewed and he said that was the happiest moment of his life. Now that is class.

GravatarI'm tired of trolls in the haloscan. Is there a repube site I can go to for a bit of my own trolling? Or don't they allow open discussion.

Gravatarkinda OT- but necessarily said.

In an interview broadcast Monday on CBS' "The Early Show," Kerry said voters should reject Republican charges that he's not tough enough to take charge, and he recalled his own Vietnam experience.

"When I turned my boat in Vietnam into an ambush and I went straight into the ambush and overran it, I didn't see George Bush or Dick Cheney at my side," Kerry said. "So I'm not going to take a second seat to anybody in my willingness to be tough to defend the United States of America. I did it when it mattered, and as president I will defend the United States of America with everything I have."

GravatarHeh. He's the Encumbered President (intellectually, morally), and I say "good riddance" to him.

GravatarHelp This Guy Out!, Donate Today

Fri morning - restore constitution, accept for those parts superseded by the new presidential directive/PATRIOT ACT II.

Fri evening - Party!

GravatarWell, the Christian religion does teach that no one is beyond redemption...right, Jerry?

depends on your theology. there are those who hold that Hebrews 6:4-6 says that it's possible to screw up so badly that nothing can save you.

and then there are calvinists who claim that christ only died for the elect.

basically, there's theology to back up just about whatever kind of wacko belief you want to hold, and even so lots of people manage not to really believe what their churches are teaching.

GravatarI thought any recount was open season on soft money since the FCC refused to rule on it.

GravatarSigh.

Why is it lefties can argue spontaneously and come out with paragraph-long well-reasoned critiques that have things like logic, sense and even subordinate clauses...

And freepers' oratory always boils down to "You poophead!"

GravatarIs there a repube site I can go to for a bit of my own trolling?

Yahoo message boards only allow trolling.

GravatarIn the words of Lyndon Baines Johnson.."the man wouldn't know how to pour piss out of a boot if the instructions were written on the heel"....he was a real Texan, not a New England transplant with no where left to go

GravatarThe NYT message boards used to be troll-a-licious. But I haven't been there in a couple years.

GravatarWhy is it lefties can argue spontaneously and come out with paragraph-long well-reasoned critiques that have things like logic, sense and even subordinate clauses...

And freepers' oratory always boils down to "You poophead!"

Because they always project.

GravatarWell, the Christian religion does teach that no one is beyond redemption...right, Jerry?

Just like the ending of "Return of the Jedi" when Anakin is saved.

So mass murderers only have to say "I'm sorry" and they get into heaven.

Sounds like a good system to me.

No wonder that cult was called Heaven's Gate.

GravatarWhat's the world coming to when OBL sounds more coherent than our current administration?

I think even god is shaking his head over the stupidity.

Gravatarnew republic has article 'replies" some are hilarious ( in a scary kind of way)

GravatarIn the words of Lyndon Baines Johnson.."the man wouldn't know how to pour piss out of a boot if the instructions were written on the heel"....

Bush would put the boot on first.

Gravatardade county dem here...just voted early after a 3 and a half hour wait in line at local library. im not quite sure about the partisan makeup of the crowd (id say about 30 percent retirees, 50 percent middle aged, 20 percent under 30) although this particular early voting site is in a traditionally dem part of town.
at any rate, i asked the dept of elections rep at the site the following question: if you get to the polls tomorrow at 7 pm, can you vote so long as youre in line at 7. the answer: absolutely. in fact, he said that the state vote input system is setup to compensate for this likely possibility. he continued, votes will first be counted in lesser-populated regions of the state. they expect that votes from tampa, miami, orlando, jax will begin to be counted somwhere in the 8:30-9 pm window. so to all the dems out there: dont panic if you see bush 60 kerry 40 with as high as 40 percent of the precincts reporting. the urban areas will report at the end. looks like another late night...

GravatarBut of course! Adenoids whirl in predecisive pointing-up, but in the perspicacious analyses, the culprit--or, excuse me, the vaginal mucus viscosity, post-coitus--must and of necessity needs be Alan Keyes. It's a C-O-N-spiracy.

Gravatarpjnike,

Did you see dead people?

Gravatareye am gorge dubya bush and eye aprove this mess!

Gravatar"Bush is an incompetent coward." is not a DNC talking point. It is a universal truth. So its no surprise that OBL agrees with the rest of the reality based world.

GravatarWhy is it lefties can argue spontaneously and come out with paragraph-long well-reasoned critiques that have things like logic, sense and even subordinate clauses...

bj

Is this a trick question? Cause it sorta answers itself, doesn't it?

GravatarYeah, that's the mark of a desperate campaign. Maybe the little charmers behind "Kommunists for Kerry" are behind it. Quick, call Fox with the news!

Speaking of news, Mara Liason needs to get herself gone from NPR. She delivered a completly biased campaign wrap-up. More info at my blog.

GravatarBecause, ironically, they aren't "master debaters."

Gravatardoes anyone know what's up with the My Polling Place site? all kinds of weird stuff happen when you try to get into it--redirects, "forbidden" access junk...anyone know if it's being freeped or something?! or is it truly just really really legitimately busy with actual voters actually double-checking their info? it worked fine on Friday...

Librarian is LOSING her patience...

(AND i am stuck at work all night with the colleague i came here to complain about some weeks back--you know, the Nader Voter who is otherwise a really really nice, smart, decent, educated, ACTIVE person?! but who i nevertheless am going to have a hard time not getting mad at this evening? THAT person? what has Librarian done to deserve this?!)

-L.

GravatarHeaders! Where are the fricking headers?

Or is this a hoax by Atrios??

Gravatarthe vaginal mucus viscosity, post-coitus--must and of necessity needs be Alan Keyes.

so long, of course, as the aforementioned fluid is not from a blood relative...

GravatarEncumbent?

I can’t in good consciousness support him any longers.

It would help if *Joe* was conscious. He's in seventh grade and is failing spelling and composition.

He apparently lacks a conscience.

GravatarI'm tired of trolls in the haloscan. Is there a repube site I can go to for a bit of my own trolling? Or don't they allow open discussion.

Nope. They allow NO dissent.

You can get thrown out of Free Republic for typing two words;

GO KERRY.

Used to be, the guarnteed ejection phrase was: BUSH STOLE THE ELECTION. That's the one that got me thrown out. [polishing Badge of Honor]

GravatarBecause, ironically, they aren't "master debaters."

The Republicans are, however, master 'baters.

GravatarOT: Pop Quiz, hotshot.

How many of these assholes ever wore camouflage as a member of the military?

GravatarThis person can't vote for Kerry in 'good consciousness' but I guess s/he can vote for Bush in a bad coma.

GravatarLibrarian, what state are you in? the mypollingsite.com site works fine for me in VA, but since it redirects to your local election people, there might be a problem on your state's end.

Gravatarbj - re "poophead"
That's why I love watching Gov Ann Richards.

The other night she explained Kerry's vote on the war resolution as "he voted to put a bullet in the gun, not for george to shoot himself in the foot with it"

GravatarRe: answers to my post.

Funny stuff, people, funny stuff!

I have to be home tomorrow morning to wait for the plumber (wifey & I are learning the joys of home ownership the hard way) -- the good news: he should done & gone by 10 so I can go vote before I go back to work for the afternoon.

I'm wondering how long the lines will be here in New York City -- Brooklyn, specifically, where the Kerry/Edwards signs are as thick as mushrooms after a spring rain. I don't care, I will wait as long as it takes....

KERRY IN A LANDSLIDE!

Gravatar"The Republicans are, however, master baiters."

cf RMJ, op. cit.

GravatarIf you liberals had a conscious you would not go around unconsciencely insulting persons and peoples of other grammatical persuasions. Poopheads.

GravatarYou can always go to nicedoggie.net and rile them up a little bit. They usually won't ban you if you're polite (of course, they'll heap all kinds of abuse on you). But if you keep it up too long, you usually will end up banned.

Kimmit, who sometimes posts at Pandagon now (and I believe has his own blog) lasted like a year there before giving up in disgust. Though he was more of an Erik the Conservative type (honest and diplomatic contrary argument) than a troll (provocation just to provoke).

I tried troling there, but found out that 1) trolling wasn't something I really wanted to do, it being psychicly draining and 2)the moral sickness of the people of that site took its toll on me as well.

GravatarL.
Librarian

Upthread said that the site had been hacked.

KERRY/EDWARDS IN A LANDSLIDE!!!

GravatarIsn't forging email a crime?

GravatarCheery Thoughts from the Great Southern Land:

Because the world is a big spinning ball or something, it is still 1 November in the USA, but here in Australia, it is already 2 November, which means therefore that, here, Kerry has already won in a landslide. Already, here, the Bush phoney has shuffled in ignominy from the world stage, never to return, except for poorly attended small-town book signings. There will be brief discussion about doing a "where are they now" segment about him on Crawford-TV, but nobody can be bothered googling for non-embarassing photographs of the ugly, drunken gimp.

Nevermore should his name be uttered in civilised company. Nevermore shall it be necessary to surround the word "President" in inverted commas before that office-holder's surname.

Welcome back to the world's friendly embrace, America. It's been a long cold winter, but finally there is a President in the Whitehouse again.

GravatarSince the Repubs have set up a sham "Democratic Smear" hotline (for rightwing supporters to report non-existent Democratic efforts to suppress the vote), I suggest we call the Repubs' line and report their own misdeeds.

Anyone have that number?
S | Email | Homepage | 11.01.04 - 5:38 pm | #

I think we should call the number all night and order pizzas.

Operator: Republican hotline. How can I assist you?
Angry: I'd like to order two large pizzas. One with mushrooms, the other plain...please.

Gravatar"he should done & gone by 10 so I can go vote before I go back to work for the afternoon."

HA, HA, HA, HA, HA,HA, HA, HA, HA.....

I'm so sorry, darlin', I really am. But no plumber has ever, ever, ever been done and gone by anything except his/her own time..... Trust me on this one. Schedule your voting some other way.

GravatarErinPDX --

That's been one of the mysteries of the campaign to me -- everyone BUT Kerry has explained his war authorization vote very well, whether it's Ann Richards or Randi Rhodes. But it's the one issue Big John has always fumferred -- but it's really easy to explain!

Oh, well, it won't matter tomorrow.

KERRY IN A -- oh, you know!

Gravatarthey should have came dressed as 1100 hundred or so caskets... war is such a hoot!
four more tears till these murdering fools scurry back into the silver sewers that spewed them; c'mon Hague

GravatarWHOO HOO! SURFING THE KERRY LANDSLIDE!

GravatarGWPDA --

No, really! We used these guys once before and they came when they said they would, and the job lasted exactly as long as they said it would!

Or was that just the come-on?....

GravatarYou don't need an anchorman to tell you which way the wind blows.

Gravatarof course my post referenced

OT: Pop Quiz, hotshot.

How many of these assholes ever wore camouflage as a member of the military?

sorry...hard to focus with the anger and all..

GravatarBut it's the one issue Big John has always fumferred -- but it's really easy to explain.

I disagree that it was easy to explain, and I hope that he's been careful enough that anything he said or didn't say can't be used against him in the future.

This has been a deliberate, careful campaign.

Gravatarthe Nader Voter who is otherwise a really really nice, smart, decent, educated, ACTIVE person

WOW!

A person of conviction?!

You should take lessons, Librarian.

GravatarGWPDA: Back when I was just a little voter, I would often vote -- particularly in local races -- solely on the basis of relative literacy. For this election, though, I say screw literacy and vote for the Democrat regardless. Even if a local race had a Harvard Ph.D Libertarian/Rockefeller Republican running against a semiliterate, new-age, LaRouchite Democrat, I would vote for the Democrat. Because at this point, a vote for any Republican, anywhere, will simply encourage them. Republican numbers need to be down in this election from the White House to the Water Commissioner. It's too important strategically.

(NB: In the 2002 Cincinnati council elections, I applied the literacy standard to candidate statements without knowing their party affiliation. Every single candidate I eliminated in the first round was a Republican. This is what happens when a party embraces anti-intellectualism.)

GravatarI suggest we call the Repubs' line and report their own misdeeds.

Anyone have that number?

If you're our usual Nader troll, you may be all of the others, but those missing attributes sink you.

Gravatarwasn't there a post on the main page that linked to this thread?

something about an ignoramus spoofing email addresses?

where'd it go?

GravatarChrist, they can't do anything right.

GravatarHp - I agree with you - these guys were the ones who made the cut!

Scary, scary. I was left with people who sort of didn't mind the AIMS test, thought Spanish was an okay language and by and large, didn't want to force children to recite a prayer of some kind.... Good enough for me.

GravatarWill someone please take a crap in my mouth? I've run out of things to say.

Gravatarand bj - from your mouth to God's ears. But in the only terms that matter - trust, but verify....

And make valid alternative arrangements!

GravatarOK, that Freedumguy post was mine.

Gravatar
You don't need an anchorman to tell you which way the wind blows.

I actually sang this line (the original version) a few minutes ago during our local weather forecast...

the weather guy, who regularly points out that he's "been doin' weather here in South Mississippi for 40 years" actually said, while looking at the live outside camera shot "it's getting dark earlier".

Wow. His parents must be really proud that they spent that $25,000.00 on his college education instead of that two-week South Pacific cruise.

GravatarMean, indecent, smart, educated, active...

I can live with that.

The Dems could use a mean streak willing to do what it takes to make sure the Bush administration are held personally and intimately accountable for their crimes against humanity.

Or they could continue being limp dicks who not only let Bush get away with murder but enabled him to commit it.

100,000 civilians the brave US soldiers killed to capture Saddam and hold him accountable.

Will it be worth it if it takes that many US casualties to capture and hold Bush & Cheney accountable?

GravatarOK, this is so freakin' obvious, someone else *must* have posted it already, but here goes:

GravatarSpeaking of Bogus Emails has anyone seen the one that says that if Kerry becomes President the Secret Service will secure ALL the Kerry properties?

Here's a snippet:

Most of us haven't thought about this -- no matter how much we like or
>dislike John Kerry. Even an estimate of this cost is staggering.
>
>If elected, you and I (or those of us who actually pay taxes) will pay
>upkeep and secret service protection for five Kerry mansions here in the
>United States plus those he and his wife own abroad. It is good to be John

>F. Kerry...the F stands for Forbes in case you ever wondered. He is one of

>the richest senators in government and he married even richer. Their
>properties certainly reflect their opulent lifestyle. When someone is
>elected president, the Secret Service has to protect this person and family

>as well as their property - for as long as the president and his spouse
>lives!

Of course this is easy to debunk as I did for the sender. Just wondered if anyone else had seen this going around.

GravatarI love the smell of desperation in the morning!

GravatarYou'd think someone smart enough to know how to spoof an e-mail address would be smart enough to know how to use a spell checker.

I once thouht so too -- until I worked with many young computer "experts." Of course, some "techies" just are anti-social and conforming to the expectations of others (even spelling) will never happen. Others wear their innumeracy or illiteracy as a badge of pride. Of course, innumerate and illiterate computer professionals are not likely to be on the "cutting edge" of technology for long -- it literally changes that fast. All I am trying to say that just because most of us do not choose to learn how to "spoof" address (or any number of other feats with computers) does not make those skills hard to learn or special. I am sure most posters here could find info on the 'net to do all types of things that we just don't have enough interest in doing. The big "lie" of our times (besides the fact that all of our children are "above average") is that today's youth all know everything about computers. Of course, I have no way of knowing the relative age of the person in question here -- but being able to perform some feat with "information processing" technology is not the same thing as being "information literate."

GravatarThe other night she explained Kerry's vote on the war resolution as "he voted to put a bullet in the gun, not for george to shoot himself in the foot with it"

Damn. I miss Ann Richards. That girl had some snap in her garters.

Well, I can't.

Stop insulting posters. You'll get nowhere.

We need to work together. People here are not that far apart. Most people in this country are not that far apart.

Grow up. You're going to have to work with us if you want to effect change. And making asshole comments about posters gets you nowheresville, darling.

Gravatar"Only in America can a one forsake his military and country,"

By going AWOL, and refusing to take a drug test.

"apply for his own medals,"

Wear unawarded medals.

" urinate on the United States Flag,"

Urinate on the Constitution.

" write a book like The Winter Soldier,"

Not know how to spell, be unable to use grammar.

" get elected to congress, be in absence 76% of the time,"

Never get elected except through personal attacks, vote fraud, and court challenges.

" have 250+ vets who served with him denounce him as unfit for command,"

For the money they got from Scaife. Bush, by contrast, sent 40,000 soldiers into an unnecessary battle with Vietnam-era gear, and released nuclear material, 650,000 pounds of ammo, and 380 tons of high-explosives to their enemies.

"contradict himself on major issues,"

Bush: who said he opposed nation building.

" vote against every bill to support the military during his career,"

With Dick Cheney, or against obvious pork, or failed systems like Star Wars.

" including funds requested during wartime and reconstruction"

Funds which weren't spent by the AEI interns given the awesome duty of rebuilding Iraq, billions of which are now missing.

" - go to the beauty parlor; the tanning salon and get his nails done"

Bush's $1000 Italian shoes and his vanity vacations ignoring warnings of imminent attack on America.

" and allowed to run for the position of commander of chief of the forces he voted against for 20 years"

Actually faced machine guns for his country, unlike you or Bush.

" and look like a metrosexual."

"You have a pretty mouth." --GW Bush, as president, to the Canadian press secretary.

"And it's said that there's is not equal opportunity in the United States for someone who's just required to make a living."

Equal opportunity to die for one's country -- not in the Texas Air Guard. Kerry faced combat; Bush ran from it.

And now he sits back and profits from the death of 1,115 soldiers, the maiming of 20,000, the destruction of a sovereign country, and the railroading of the American democracy, through anthrax threats, thuggery, bribes, and stolen elections.

No more.

GravatarBlogger is being weird... I'm still having to access new posts via the Archives.

On another note, are the trolls getting stupider, or are their tiny brains seeping out through their pointy ears as they slowly come to the realization that BUSH IS GONNA LOSE?

GravatarI have never been prouder of my homestate as when Ann Richards was elected governor. I was not pleased at all when that smarmy. smirking twit beat her the following election. But let's end with happy thoughts:

A little over ten years ago - GWB was elected gov of TX and began his rise in the republican party. Ten years is too damned long - and long enough. He's done. I share a wedding anniversary with the Bushes - my wish for them this year - going home to Crawford (or wherever the hell - just out of OUR HOUSE!)

GravatarDeepThought_42 -

my sister in law thought well enough of that email to send it to me, i guess sorta like a, "see! see! see how evil kerry is", but I quickly debunked several of the lies in the email. it was just a bunch of repug nonsense. problem is that they will believe anything.

hell, someone sent it. it MUST be true.

bye bye king george.

Gravatari'm not from texas, but i was hoping kerry would pick ann richards as his running mate.

GravatarOT, but more vote shenanigans courtesy the GOP, this time in Oregon. Link is from KGW.com, which is subscription only, so here's the text.

Oregon Republicans sought to distance the party on Monday from a letter sent by a Portland attorney to Multnomah County's election director that questioned ballots cast by new voters who were not asked to provide identification.

Because of Oregon's vote-by-mail system, residents are currently not required to present a driver's license or an alternate form of identification when registering to vote.

Spokeswoman Rori Smith of Victory 2004, an arm of the Bush-Cheney campaign, said the attorney who transmitted the letter is a campaign volunteer, who had not been retained by the Republican party.

But Republican officials would not rule out the possibility that the party might in the future challenge some votes on the lack-of-identification grounds.

"The attorney is working as a volunteer on behalf of our campaign who filed a letter late Friday taking a position on challenges to certain votes and we had not formulated any position on that and there was a miscommunication with GOP staff and the attorney," Oregon GOP state chairman Kevin Mannix told KGW. "So, the attorney thought it should be triggered when it had not been approved by those of us at highest level who have to look at policy issues."

Mannix said the party had no plans at this time to go to court over the ID issue. And Oregon election officials maintained the GOP would likely have a tough time making a case if they did decide to try and pursue legal action.

Kelly Clark, the attorney whose law firm sent the letter to Multnomah County, told KGW Monday that he could not talk about the issue -- maintaining to discuss it would violate attorney-client privilege.

Clark identified Victory 2004 as the "client" and said simply his firm "believed we were authorized" to send the letter.

Right. The way you "work" with Nader supporters? I'm happy to "work" with you that way.

"he voted to put a bullet in the gun, not for george to shoot himself in the foot with it"

So, Kerry gave bullets to a known malevolent retard with a gun?

That only shows they are both unfit for office.

Gravatarmyrna minkoff, heh. great nick.

Gravatarright back at ya, olaf!

GravatarOT, but apropos of general stupidity. Over the weekend here in Boulder we had one of the typical "house party shut down by police leading to drunken student riot" Halloween spectaculars, including random wanton destruction of property. Particular joy is apparently taken by flipping vehicles.

Not in any way to condone these spoiled boneheads, but I was struck by the anti-Kerry bumper sticker prominently on display in a photo of a smashed and overturned SUV. I'm unclear whether that was a selection issue for the students or perhaps a statement by the photographer.

And let me just add that we're workin' hard out here to close the gap on Bush. I can't find solid numbers on early voting (ended Friday here), but all indications are that a lot of votes already have been cast. And the Democratic party around Denver seems unusually well-organized to GOTV. Salazar looks like a shoe-in for the Senate, and the proposal to split the electors with the popular vote looks like it's going down hard (2:1 against).

GravatarThe Frontline feature of Kerry and Bush's career is being rebroadcast at 9 pm est.

Let's be fair...

Kerry voted to put bullets in 100,000 Iraqi civilians.

Don't forget it.

Gravatar"So, Kerry gave bullets to a known malevolent retard with a gun?

THAT shows that you are unfit to vote. Listen, Anonympous, this ins NOT a game. This is not about you getting laid by some pro-Nader chick.

Human lives are at stake here, for god-sake.

A vote for Nader is a vote for Bush. Any way you play it, that is the cold, simple truth. You can pretend that you are doing something valuable, but you are not. Nader will NEVER be president. NEVER. It is either Bush, or Kerry. Which one of them do you choose, because your choice, WILL benefit one, or the other, no matter what you do, and no matter what moral high ground you claim to inhabit.

This is about getting Bush out of YOUR White House. Like he said himself, you are either with him, or you are against him. Kerry or Bush - Who do you choose?

GravatarThis has been a deliberate, careful campaign.
pie

The A+ Analysis. Kerry has run a masterful campaign, win or lose manana.

GravatarWell... 11.5 hours (+/- 15 minutes) till polls open in Ohio (hahahaha!)

I get the feeling everyone is a bit TOO happy... don't even think about not voting people - this is the GOP we're talking about - they could still pull a rabbit out of their asses (hell, they pulled OBL out!).

They probably have and we just don't know about it (or is it that impossibly wonderful Gallup poll?) - so please make sure you actually vote!

Get REAL happy when it's...
K/E in a freakin' landslide!!!

GravatarHoly cow, people!

Go to the link posted by james at 6:22 and take a look at that farkin' picture!

Karl Rove in a wig!!!

Un-farkin-believable!

I think he's in full melt-down mode. He done lost his marbles permanently.

GravatarWe need to work together. People here are not that far apart. Most people in this country are not that far apart.

pie, with all those lawyers on standby, the odds of a happy ending to this election are small. Still, it is good to see you are confident of victory. Why else would you suddenly be eager to get along?

GravatarKate,

It's a childish Halloween costume.

Though Karen Hughes looks more like an evil man in a wig than Rove does.

GravatarOn tv tonight (if you're like me, you watch while you post here at the same time):

In case you missed it 2 weeks ago, PBS Frontline is repeating their parallel portraits of Kerry and Bush. An excellent documentary. Karl Rove must not be happy about it. (9-10pm east)

on NBC: Saturday Night Live Presidential Bash 2004: old clips and newer ones. Hss to be better than the very crappy episode last saturday.

I think it's a repeat on The Daily Show with Chris Wallace as guest. But TDS is live tomorrow at 10pm!!!

oh there's some football as well...

Gravatari am absolutely baffled at the hatred that bush backers have for kerry.

they've controlled all branches of gov't for 3 1/2 years. what do they have to be pissed at. are they just pissed that the dems had the nerve to field a candidate this election to oppose their god-king ?

kerry has run dignified campaign, he never once got into the gutter with bush.

kerry with over 300 EVs

GravatarAntichimp, thanks for responding. Yeah, it was a pretty ridiculous tactic, I couldn't believe they were actually sending that crap out.

Cheers

Gravatarpie, Billy B - on the campaign being well run, yes. It has surpassed my wildest hopes. He went around the media, which I hoped he would do, took it to the people and rested up for this huge momentum at the end. Just beautiful. The debates were well timed, I thought, too.

GravatarKate,

That's not a wig - it's one o those arctic hats with the huge ear flaps.

But bad enough they're traipsing around in camo. Tomorrow is not soon enough to hand each and every one of them their walking papers, believe me.

GravatarKate,

AWWWWWW, that post was uncalled for! I just ate dinner. Another meal gone bad. BTW, Karen Huge looks particularly striking in that photo.

heh.

GravatarWhy else would you suddenly be eager to get along?

Oh, good grief.

Suddenly, electionthief/anonymous/every other stupid name you've ever used?

Why don't you get help?

I know the answer.

You don't think that you have a problem.

It's an old story.

Gravatar"How many of these assholes ever wore camouflage as a member of the military?--james"

Rove and the other traitors wear camouflage as another ass-showing exhibit, celebrating their stealth takeover of America.

Look carefully, you will see a trillion dollars sticking out of Rove's camo.

GravatarTena,

I am very curious about TX (particularly since my niece lives there now). What are the odds of getting some major wingnuttery out of office?

Peace!

GravatarHmmmmm...Maybe they are ear-flaps in that picture, but the fact that he's willing to step out in public looking like that is just amazing.

It reminds me of him sitting on that tarmac leaning up against the wheel of AF1. I really do think he's losing it. (His marbles, I mean. I think he already lost the election. But keep on working like we're still 10 pts behind. We want a farkin' mandate!)

GravatarWho is the lame-ass "democrat lawyer" that the "republican lawyer" is wiping the floor with on PBS/McNeil right now? Who put him on?

Doesn't matter, really--we're winning tomorrow!

GravatarWhy don't you get help?

I know the answer.

You don't think that you have a problem.

It's an old story.
pie

Yeah, I can just see you getting along with people, pie.

GravatarWhy are hoaxes always riddled with spelling and grammar errors? This is true with those anti-black voter flyers and even those emails from Nigeria? Is it considered more "authentic?"

that, or it's democrats that are putting up these anti-black flyers, knowing they're gonna get major play in local and national media and make repuklicans look bad, and they think bad spelling furthers the believability of a supposed 'republican creation'.

which it does.

hey, i know people might not like to acknowledge it's possible, but i for one hope there are some democrats out there capable of giving the repuklicans and rove a taste of their own filthy medicine.

Gravatari am absolutely baffled at the hatred that bush backers have for kerry.

It's the same hatred they had for Clinton.

It's the same hatred they had for Gore.

It's the same hatred they have for Liberals, Gays, African Americans, Tree Huggers, Rock and Rollers, etc.

I tend to reciprocate their hate. And, win or lose tomorrow, I am still committed to kicking some hard right ass in the future. Guaranteed.

GravatarYou don't think that you have a problem.

It doesn't matter what people say to you. You can't be civil.

Whatever, my darling. Be well.

GravatarWhy? Because The Encumbent President has pulled this great country together in times of war, terrorist attacks and recession.

Let me guess -- this guy was homeschooled, right?

Our knowing they are wrong and never letting them forget it has taken all the joy from the election they stole. Poor babies.

As you mentioned, they are in power. Why would they care what we think, unless it resonates with them?

Gravatarpie,

no problem. i notice that Team PHAT has been drawing a lot of troll attacks here lately... so to all of you, thanks for putting up with the trolls and contributing to the community. this site has been invaluable to me this election cycle.

GravatarRethug dirty tricks are especially brain dead this year. Not even up to the Donald Segretti/Chuck Colson level.

Rethugs are pretending to be pro-gay marriage, pro-Kerry demonstrators in African American precincts in Florida, and it isn't working!

And they run away when folks take pictures of them!

Good omen for Michael Moore's project in OH and FLA.

GravatarNorman Schwartzkopf is endorsing Kerry!!! Priceless...

GravatarWe had to struggle with the old enemies of peace--business and financial monopoly, speculation, reckless banking, class antagonism, sectionalism, war profiteering.

i am absolutely baffled at the hatred that bush backers have for kerry.

xegar, your statement rang a bell with me. It triggered a memory of words from FDR in his October 30, 1936, campaign speech, announcing the Second New Deal:

"They had begun to consider the Government of the United States as a mere appendage to their own affairs. We know now that Government by organized money is just as dangerous as Government by organized mob.

Never before in all our history have these forces been so united against one candidate as they stand today. They are unanimous in their hate for me--and I welcome their hatred. "

Love to see Kerry say something like this, but I suppose he'll have to be more statesmanlike in his acceptance speech.

You liberals always find yourself thinking you are super-intelligent psycho-analysts. I always see you trying to brain hump conservatives (figuratively speaking of course) and I see the same stupidity from the far right.

Strangely none of you say anything about an actual party funded hoax by the Democrats who tried to use General Schwarzkopf in a phone call supporting Kerry, even when it's a widely known fact that Stormin' Norman is a Bush supporter. That's far dirtier than a stupid fake email.

For the curious, the whole speech is here.

Worth looking at, to see what we are fighting for: the gains liberals, and especially liberal Democrats, won for us in the 20th Century, and which the Rethugs want to roll back.

Stormin' Norman IS for Kerry.

And YOUR Naderite ass needs to be barred from the INTERNETS!

GravatarUgh. These people love to point out that the man's middle name is Forbes. First, it's a middle name. Second, "Walker" isn't a nod to "Walker, Texas Ranger". The Walkers might not have a magazine named after them, but they aren't exactly humble stock.

Gravatar"So much for silent martyrdom. Do you guys actually believe that Kerry is more hated than Bush. (I don't care whether justified or not) The point is that Bush is hated more openly by the other party." - Anonymous (O no, my anus!)

Yeah, so? The hatred of Democrats and other liberals (and real conservatives and plenty of Republicans) is one of the very few things George W. Bush has earned. Kerry is hated less because he deserves to be hated less.

Gravatar(And- after Kerry is president, he will receive much more hate, and much less deserved, then he is now.)

GravatarWill the hate-Bush crowd start hating Kerry if he loses?

Susan Estrich thinks so...

Gravatar"Kerry is hated less because he deserves to be hated less."

True that! After all, Kerry only falsely accused a few drunk and homeless vets of atrocities.

Bush actually sent the homeless to an illegal war for oil.

GravatarNo, Kerry is more openly hated. Consider that "negative campaigning" is yet another dishonest framing. The "negative campaigning" against Bush consists largely in absolutely truthful statements about the man (he used to be an obnoxious drunk, his life is a record of failure and bailing-out by parents and bin Ladens, etc). The lies against Kerry are outright lies and most of them are extremely vicious (he has no clear record, he's never dopne anything against terror, in going to Vietnam and saving a man's life he was being cowardly, etc).

Gravatar After all, Kerry only falsely accused a few drunk and homeless vets of atrocities.

This is not true, and has aleady been smashed many times.

Jesus, it's Clinton all over again: we want to hate the guy for things he actually does in reality, on planet Earth (gutting welfare, fucking the environment, warmongering, etc), but we're stuck defending him from laughably insane charges (enlisting the PLA and the Martian Expeditionary Fleet in murdering Vince Foster).

GravatarThere's not a lot left to say here. Anonymous the Nader troll, when this is all over, you can NOT be my pool boy.

Ajoblike that takes the courage of one's convictions. Which you would understand, if you ever got to see my pool, that is.

Gravatarthe Nader Voter who is otherwise a really really nice, smart, decent, educated, ACTIVE person

WOW!

A person of conviction?!

You should take lessons, Librarian.

Hey now, let's be nice. Librarians all across the country have been literally on the front lines of asscrofts war against information spread. My hats off Librarian.

GravatarWhere are the fucking headers?

What was the point of this if you didn't post the headers?

It's like calling the fire station and not giving your address. POST THE FUCKING HEADERS.

GravatarThe lawyers I know who are working the hours are working pro bono...

GravatarFirst, it's a middle name.

it's his mother's maiden name.

Second, "Walker" isn't a nod to "Walker, Texas Ranger". The Walkers might not have a magazine named after them, but they aren't exactly humble stock.

there's not much point in trying to distinguish between these two men in terms of social pedigree. both of them are about as blueblooded as you can get in American society; but only one is a total fuckup.

Gravatartheodoric, don't sneer. It takes generations of inbreeding to produce that big a fuckup.

GravatarDo you guys actually believe that Kerry is more hated than Bush. (I don't care whether justified or not)

no, you've already demonstrated that you're incapable of making such fine distinctions.

The point is that Bush is hated more openly by the other party.

You'd like this to be true. The actuality is that most Democrats, having had the Presidency stolen from them in 2000, have been wishing Bush the best possible under the circumstances, hoping that he would turn out to be a decent President despite the illegitimacy of his appointment.

This is in sharp contrast to what the Right has brought to this year's game; it was only late in the primary season that the average GOP ideologue finally realized that he would be running against someone other than Bill Clinton and started marshaling a case against John Kerry.

In fact, rational, intelligent opposition could have put together a far more persuasive case against Kerry than they actually did; in particular, it would have been reasonable to expect better from a lawyer of John O'Neill's credentials than the pathetic, disingenuous, fraudulent slurs he was actually able to muster, so blinded by hatred as he turned out to be.

GravatarSatire? Irony?

Gravatar"wishing Bush the best possible under the circumstances, hoping that he would turn out to be a decent President despite the illegitimacy of his appointment."

Yeah, that lasted until 11 Sep 01, when the doors on the armored car were blown open, and a trillion dollars poured into Bush's coffers, simultaneous to a whole lot of innocent people dying.

GravatarTomorrow better be worth the dead goose.

GravatarThat are pittifull and desprate.

Gravatar"Yup, me and my wife, we done lost our jobs to folks over thar in India...I knowed it was one of them thar countries overseas. We don't have no health insurance now.

We're livin' in a homeless shelter 'cause we done lost our house.

Our only son, he got killed over there in Iraq last month, but we're still gonna vote for Bush 'cause he's a good Christian and he ain't gonna let them thar women kill their babies or allow them thar queers to git married.

Yup, we're homeless and livin' on food stamps but we'll still be gonna allowed to read the bible and keep our guns because of Bush.

Praise the lord!"
