He just turned off the link to the comments. They're still here!
He's got a right to get away for a while and not have a 2000 message thread waiting for him.

Hmmm. What happens if they have a revolution but no one comes? I guess the Republicans take it for 12 more years.

All over the 'net I'm hearing gloating Republicans chortling that the 'East Coast elitists' have been defeated. Excuse me? The party of the CEOs beat the party of the labor unions and the Elitists lost? I don't think so.
I'll never understand how working people can think that because Tony Scalia goes hunting, that makes him one of them, or worse, makes them one of Scalia's cronies. The 'who would you rather have a beer with' litmus test has got to be the most pathetic excuse for voting yet. Hey, wake up, Gomer - Cheney is never going to have a beer with you. If he found himself in the same room with you, he'd call security.
When the corporate cronies who own the Republican party close down your factory and outsource your jobs, maybe one or two of you might get a job cleaning out their dogs' kennels, but don't kid yourself that they're ever EVER going to let you marry their daughter.
Honestly, the way Middle America consistently votes against their own best interests, you'd think they enjoyed being abused.

Arachnae
did you read in newsweek how advisors had kerry cut out "benedict arnold" CEOs out of this rhetoric after the primaries?
how about we apply jujitsu and counter "liberal elitists" with CEO corporate elitism who are mostly republican? foster resentment against CEOs who argue they have to hack your salary down to 7 dollars an hour while they get away with multi-million dollar salaries and golden parachutes up the wazoo.
expose the hypocrisy of CEOs who argue how they have to cut benefits in order to be "competitive" on the global stage by having our standard bearer point out corporations should start being competitive by first cutting CEO's salary.
there are so many ways we attack this "values" argument. values doesn't mean screwing your workers.

After winning re-election by the
slimmest majority in our nations
history, Bush thinks he has a mandate.
He is less popular than Nixon was.
Guys, all we need is four million
more voters. We got an extra 7
million to the polls last tuesday, and
that was mainly due to the weekend
volunteering of a bunch of college
kids. Let's focus here, victory is
in sight!

It's not that he thinks Atrios is irrelevant, it's that he's a masochist, loves the abuse.
