GravatarAccording to the previous thread Cheny was taken to the Vail hospital, cardiac center. Anything new on that?

GravatarSith!

GravatarIt never fails! Just as I finish writing a diatribe there's a new thread!

Well I don't feel I should suffer alone, so here you go, from the end of the last thread.

"The only reason that they're "fighting terrorism over there so we don't have to fight them here" is because the Bush administration has made it so very goddamn easy to "fight terrorism" (read: get blown up by IEDs) over there."

"As a vet, I find this highly objectionable."
-
Fielding Mellish

I agree, and also as a vet, I cannot abide the socalled strategy of pulling most of our forces out of Afghanistan and putting them in Iraq, just as they were beginning to be really successful. Especialy the 5th SF.

Iraq was obviously wrong from the very beginning from many points of view, particularly from a strategic one.

I mean, if your goal is legitimately to fight a war on Terrorism, you go to the immediately verifiable source and kick the shit out of them and don't stop till they're done.

You don't pull your troops out so that the Taliban can make a resurgence, as they are now, and then tie down your Army in Iraq; So we cannot now respond to any real threats in the world because Bush decided he had to use his 'capital'.

Obviously this PROVES that Terrorism was never a real issue to Bush and his cronies other than as a means to spread fear to the US and get what they wanted.

Bush was never interested in anything more than enriching his daddy and his daddy's friends; And he used his base to get the 'capital' to do so.

Any real President, who was truly serving in the best interests of our Nation, would've stayed the course in Afghanistan. Of course he/she would also have listened to their Generals.

GravatarNothing new about Cheney on CNN, BBC, Google or Yahoo.

I don't want the guy dead. I'm reminded of a story retold by Garrison Keillor, something like: "I was devastated to learn of his death. The only thing that's been keeping me alive was the hope of seeing him hanged."

GravatarI'm really beginning to believe that there were multiple reasons for going into Iraq. There were several people making policy, each of whom had their own agenda. W wanted to avenge his Daddy, Dick wanted money for Haliburton (himself), PNAC wanted to secure a U.S. presence in the Middle East.

Notice none of these reasons involve WMD or 9/11.

Since w is CEO, he bears the responsibility and it is his name that will go down in history as the worst president ever.

Everybody loves to talk to me
most of you dumb fucks just can't help from responding to what I say.

GravatarBad Jim: Having been raised a Quaker, I find it extraordinary that if he died, I would probably feel happy.

You had to ask? I'll take "anyone with a soul" for 200, Alex.

My money is on angry reg. Toby's not even on this thread, and nobody's talking to him, get over it.

If you want to discuss the issues, advance one other than Toby.

Hmmm?

Of course if you want to discuss trolls, I've noticed that 'don't feed the trolls' has kind of gone by the wayside, and I agree that we need to put them back on a strict forced diet!

They're getting way too fat!

GravatarHey, Duncan ... thanks for the advert on the left side alerting people to the dangers posed by so-called association health plans. It is impossible to understate just how dangerous and wrong-headed these things are.

GravatarIs this what kerry was thinking when he ignored the Swift Boat vets for truth?
Doh!

Toby for pres!

Suck Toby's dick!

I am sick and tired of this self indulgent troll lover shit I see here.

Yes, we should only pay attention to voices we like, otherwise we sould label them trolls and ignore them.

Only if someone says something that we like should we listen to them that won't work out badly. Yes, contrarian voices are always bad. Rebel voices should be extenguished.

Yes.

GravatarAlright Moonbats, I'm off to bed. Night!

GravatarADF and other conservative Christian law firms now wield enormous legal clout, said Frank Ravitch, constitutional law professor at Michigan State University College of Law.

"One of the huge mistakes that the (political) left has made in dealing with these groups over the years is ... to think these are a bunch of fanatics and to stereotype and characterize them that way. They may be zealots, but they're very smart, well-organized and well-funded," said Ravitch, author of the book, "School Prayer and Discrimination: The Civil Rights of Religious Minorities and Dissenters."

Maybe time to send some money to ACLU.

GravatarToby this, Toby that. Jesus.

Word of advice: Get over it. If you don't want to talk about Toby, talk about something else that'll interest people. If other people decide to talk to or about Toby, just let them. It's just a goddamn late-night thread, not a sacred grove.

Thread policing can get kind of disruptive too, after a certain amount of time.

GravatarQL in NY, I've had so many friends die in the last few years (serves me right for knowing so many old people) that I hardly know how to respond. I feel relief for the ones who were suffering, a gaping hole where the younger were torn from my life by accident.

A young man I know is in the U.S. Army in Iraq. He used to be married to one of my nieces, and whenever the latest death toll is announced I'm afraid that he'll be featured.

Cheney's days are numbered, and I doubt his death would cheer me, but I'd cheerfully pay a million dollars to see Bush keelhauled or drawn and quartered.

Gravatarbad Jim, that's a riff on this

Here, richly, with ridiculous display,
The Politician's corpse was laid away.
While all of his acquaintance sneered and slanged,
I wept: for I had longed to see him hanged.

Believe it is by the nasty and cruel, though very funny Hillaire Belloc.

I find that if I announce my departures from these threads it cuts down the namestealing a bit. Though I'm sure it in itself gets a bit tedious. Maybe only the most often stollen (I'm not one of those) should use it.

I know it's not nice but I can't get worked up over the death of evil people, remembering what they said when the funeral of the thoroughly evil Maurice Duplessis took place on one of the hottest days on record (back then) in Quebec. They said hell was opening up for him.

GravatarCheney's days are numbered, and I doubt his death would cheer me

Me neither. The problem is, death doesn't really solve problems. The harm that Cheney did will last long after the maggots have picked his bones clean. I won't be glad when he dies; I'll continue to be sorry he was ever born.

GravatarFrom the thread below:

They think they are the Psyops component of the 101st chairborne.

Gold star snark.

Cheney payed a visit to Portland, OR while we were there a few weeks ago. He stayed in a hotel one block away from ours. When he went out in the morning, in addition to three limosines, police cars and multiple SUVs, there was an ambulance in his motorcade. According to the news, he went there on his own time to visit a friend? Lotta taxpayer money went for that visit.

Gravatari was looking throught the other thread. can someone tell me what the fuck a "sacrifical anode" is?

Gravatarcan someone tell me what the fuck a "sacrifical anode" is?
Olaf glad and big

A "sacrifical anode" is an "anal cyst" the wingnuts use as an excuse to avoid service.

Gravatarclean sheets y'all.

GravatarWhere's the outrage?

Bill Bennett the hypocritical rightwing scold used to ask about Clinton's sexual peccadillo(s).

But meanwhile Bushboy invades another country based on lies & manipulated intelligence (see Downing St. Memos) and the US media, which went gaga over Monica, can't seem to find the time to tell the public about it!

After all, Michael Jackson, the missing (white) girl in Aruba and the recent run-away-bride were far more important stories.

GravatarThe Marine Inspector General says that the Marines fighting in Iraq are short of guns, ammo and armor and are thus much more vulnerable to being killed or wounded!

This has been known for over 1 year and what has the depraved moron, Bushboy, who sent them there done about it???

Zilch. Nada. In fact, instead of paying attention to the needs of our troops in the war zones, Bushboy has been touring the country trying to sell his SS scam or promote more tax cuts for his fatcat friends!!!

Bushboy was too cowardly to fight in Vietnam, too lazy to do anything when warned of an impending 9/11, and too depraved to care what happens to the poor bastards he sends to Iraq and Afghanistan to fight for the freedom of Big Oil to pump the oil out of Iraqs $22 trillion reserves!!!

GravatarBushboy the pretend POTUS and Cheneychins the Veep Creep are two of the lyingest bastards America has had at the WH since Nixon/Agnew.

And the fact that they haven't suffered the same fate as those two criminals of the 1970s is because the mass media has changed from being a journalism enterprise to being a profit-seeking enterprise.

"Truth" is always the first casualty in war and all politics is war!

GravatarSo now what?

Those nasty liberals, those nasty communist, those nasty Jews, and those nasty niggers....

I wonder if DeLay and Rove understand the meaning of the word prejudice and what it really means? What is labeling and what becomes of politial parties the employee attacks on the level Rove and DeLay use these ploy, as Bush's poll numbers fall.

The true colors of the Bush administration get uglier and uglier.

GravatarThe Reverend Billy Graham is dead.
