HULK SMASH!!!

GravatarLoverly. I'm enjoying all this. Does that mean I will go to Hell?

GravatarMr. President:

What did you know and when did you know it?

GravatarGet the popcorn out!

GravatarTo prison with the lot of them.

Then to Den Haag in front of the ICC.

GravatarThis is just too, too sweet.

GravatarNext thing you know, they are going to ask me some questions that need answering.

-

Gravatarand you know the Bush junta will only have themseleves to blame for their downfall.

This is Nemisis. Bu$hco's hubris has led them down this path.

GravatarWhat will K-Y Karl's defense be?
9/11, 9/11, TERRORISTS, 9/11, 9/11, WAR ON TERRA, yada yada yada

GravatarThe Unraveling begins.

Let's hope the story survives the long weekend.

Note to media: do your fucking job.

GravatarMany of the documents subpoenaed Friday relate to the White House Iraq Group, a little-known task force. Newsweek reported that the group was created in August 2002.

Oh, shit. This crap is all connected?!?

GravatarNewsweek better watch what they print...

Gravatar and you know the Bush junta will only have themseleves to blame for their downfall.

Nah, they'll have liberals to blame, natch.

GravatarHoly fuck!

GravatarTo prison with the lot of them.

Fuck that. Bring back the guillotine.

(Well, we never had it. So just...bring it.)

GravatarBreaking!

Second source confirms Rove as the leaker!

http:// www.editorandpublisher.co...t_id=1000972841

Frog-March, bitches!

http://img126.imageshack.us/ img1...rogmarch9hc.jpg

GravatarEarthMerm,
You forget Dem = traitor, but otherwise your Rovian rant is spot-on.

GravatarIt's not the crime... it's the coverup.

GravatarAre political operatives like Hughes, Matalin, Rove, etc. even supposed to have access to top secret shit? How did they know?

Gravatar¡Despida el Chimperador!

¡Thrrrow the bums out!

so.

GravatarBy the way, news.google.com has a total of FOUR, count them, FOUR, stories related to "rove plame".

GravatarComing soon to a theatre near you.

The Adventures of Miles Cowperthwaite with Karl Rove as Miles Cowperthwaite.

On board the swift boat "Raging Queen" somewhere on the Mekong...

Chapter Two: 'I Am Nailed To The Hull'.

"It having been determined by my benefactor that a term of service at sea would make me a man, I accordingly left federal court in the company of Captain Ned, and put out from Bristol aboard his ship The Raging Queen.

Captain Ned, I learned from my shipmates, was a very manly, virile, manful person, and a firm believer in strict discipline, corporal punishment, and nude apartment wrestling. How truly strict he was, I learned on our first day out of port, when out First Mate called all hands on deck for an important annoucement."

[ dissolve onto scenes aboard The Raging Queen ]

[ First Mate Spunk rings the deck bell ]

First Mate Spunk: Alright, please, everybody, please! Welcome aboard The Raging Queen! Now, of course, I can't possibly introduce everybody, so you're just going to have to wear your little name tags. And if that's the worst thing you'll wear on this voyage, you're lucky. Now, before I introduce Captain Ned, there's some quiche over here, some salad, and some banana bread in the bowl, and there should be a brie around, if someone hasn't eaten it. And now, here is our own Captain Ned!

[ Captain Ned steps up ]

Captain Ned: Thank you, Mr. Spunk. Gentlemen, we have on board a young man whose name is Miles Cowperthwaite! And I have promised his guardian to teach him the man's life at sea! To show him man's ports, such as Key West and San Fransisco! I expect him to be treated manfully! Well, Miles, have you anything to say?

Miles Cowperthwaite: [ stsnds, cheerful ] Well.. I'm very grateful for this opportunity, Captain Ned! Up 'til now, my life has been the most degrading, pathetic, soul-destroying, humiliating, awful grovel..

Captain Ned: [ interrupting ] That's enough, Miles.. [ Miles sits ] Now, men, I run a mans' ship. I will run it in a manful and masculine way! I will tolerate no men under my command who act in such a way so as to discredit their manhood and manliness! Do I make myself clear?

First Mate Spunk: Three cheer for Captain Ned!

GravatarIF, and that's a big IF, this all turns out to be true, we need to use the right's own rhetoric against them. Words like "traitor," "treason," "high crimes," "impeach." The tone must be strident and grave.

The knee-jerk reaction of the White House will be to protect Rove at any and all costs. They will continue to spin and cover up. They don't know when to say "Uncle," and that could really screw them this time.

GravatarFinally, too late to affect the election, but maybe in time to save the republic, Josh Marshall's tectonic plate shift tease from a year ago is coming into play.

Gravatarthe sweet irony of outing Plame while riding in Air Force One as it hip hops across Africa.

reports of Irony's death were greatly exxagerated.

GravatarFuture pic?

GravatarNot to quibble, but isn't Mary Matalin a Cheney advisor as opposed to a Bush advisor?

GravatarOk, let me repeat this.... a SECOND SOURCE CONFIRMS ROVE as the source for the leak....

This and Tweety Matthews makes THREE witnesses.

GravatarHey, it was just a little conspiracy, OK?

The folks on the WHIG group saw Wilson as a threat to them selling the war policy (remember, that's what all this is about)

So they came up with a little plan, thanks to some info helpfully provided by Scooter Libby, to smear Wilson as the recipient of some kind of nepotism.

Rove and Libby started working the phones, telling anyone who would listen that Plame was a CIA operative and she got him the job.

Cheney approved it, Bush knew about it.

Then came the coverup.

The funny thing about a conspiracy is that the co-conspirators are all liable, even if they were not making the calls themselves. And this reaches right into Bush's inner circle, at least as high as Cheney.

So yeah, this is a big deal. Let's hope it's not another false alarm, we've had plenty of those.

Gravatar
Oh, shit. This crap is all connected?!?

We're all connected, you fool! You, me, Nipsey Russell, Ruth bBader Ginsberg...

GravatarOne word that makes it all meaningless: pardon.

The only thing that matters is Congress in 2006. Impeachment just isn't going to happen.

I'm digging that Live8 feed. I've checked in on MTV a couple of times and it was people taking over the music. As always.

Linkin Park and Jay-Z go together like peas and carrots.

GravatarShit. Did Mr. Matalin, James Carville know about this all along??? Fuckin' A. The enormity of this code of silence is astonishing. Throughout the whole election cycle. The mind boggles.

GravatarThis is an old story, I think. There is a story about subpoenas for Air Force One records from March of last year.

http://edition.cnn.com/2004/LAW/...cia.leak.probe/

The language is exactly the same.
Note the quote, "Government sources said the federal grand jury was seeking any information about contacts between White House officials and more than two dozen reporters and different media institutions."

Same in both. It has to be some confusion and actually the same story... or is in new?

GravatarI just like saying "frog-march."
FROG-MARCH!!!

GravatarStrangest thing...
No siren and gigantic headline banner over at Drudge for Turdblossom.
What's up with that?
Matt and Anne Coulter must be lunching and away from their 'puters.
Course, Matt's probably still trying to run down that Kerry affair story.

GravatarFuture pic?

I hope not. They're being way to gentle with him.

We're all connected, you fool! You, me, Nipsey Russell, Ruth bBader Ginsberg...

I did not have sexual relations with that man, Mr. Russell...

Gravatar'"We are complying fully with the request from the Department of Justice," White House spokesman Scott McClellan told reporters Friday.'

Yeah, we've heard that before Scotty - we're still waiting to see Dumbya's full military record, which you trickled out while promising full and prompt disclosure.

Somebody check the kerning on those documents.

GravatarWill the trial of the gang of four.. er... five... ah... however many be televised?

GravatarNewsweek's Rove is the one article is at:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8445.../site/newsweek/

Lots of comments from Rove's lawyers and lawyers
"sympathetic" to the White House. The spin starts today!

GravatarIt's not the crime... it's the coverup.

Sorta like ... "It's not the sex! It's the lying! (Remember, trolls?)

GravatarIf my guess from Oct of 2003 for the two senior White House leakers, Karl Rove and Condi Rice, turns out to be right, do I win anything?

Gravatar Loverly. I'm enjoying all this. Does that mean I will go to Hell?
Echidne of the snakes

You can join Tena and I in the second circle. Lust. Only in this case it is a lust for vengence. (The other kind comes next)

GravatarI want SO BADLY to see Karl Rove have a "shower incident" in prison!
Karma is a BITCH, my friends!

GravatarIs it too soon to start getting paranoid about what they're going to pull out of their asses to distract the public from this?

Gravatar Here's the link to the story in E&P

Why did it take so long for this story to come out? They managed to drag their feet before the election - and the corrupt press helped them cover it up. criminals.

Dems need to run and actual BECOME the reform party. Absolute power corrupts, absolutely!

Gravatar I want SO BADLY to see Karl Rove have a "shower incident" in prison!

I want him to experience a "frat hazing".

GravatarI just did a google image search for "frog march" and guess who shows up, for no apparent reason...

GravatarWhen a reporter asked how confident he was that the Justice Department probe would trace the leak, Mr. Bush sounded pessimistic.
"You tell me: How many sources have you had that's leaked information that you've exposed or had been exposed?" he said. "Probably none."
Mr. Bush suggested that the chances for success were slim, "partially because, in all due respect to your profession, you do a very good job of protecting the leakers."

Washington Times, Oct. 8, 2003

In retrospect, that sounds like a passive-agressive threat to 'keep yer mouth shut if you know what's good for you'.

GravatarBoy, maybe before this whole sweater is unraveled we'll have President Cheney signing the orders for the 9/11 hijackings and Ken Lay behind the put options on American and United so he could resurrect Enron.

I'm kidding. I think.

Gravatar Loverly. I'm enjoying all this. Does that mean I will go to Hell?
Echidne of the snakes

No, goddesses are immortal, they don't go to Hell.

GravatarThis is clearly a recycled story. Look at the two:

March 6, 2004
http://edition.cnn.com/2004/LAW/...cia.leak.probe/

July 2, 2005
http:// www.editorandpublisher.co...t_id=1000972843

What's up with this?

GravatarThis is too good to be true.

Seriously.

GravatarMan we need to destroy these media ho's even more than the junta. But I guess they're pretty much indistinguishable at this point.

GravatarSo was Rove's liberal bashing in New York recently a cranial stress-fracture, or a cunning ploy set in motion, knowing that this was coming?

Remember, he is an EVIL GENIUS!!!

Frog-march, frog-march, frog-march. Say! That IS fun!

GravatarHa! Found it. http://snltranscripts.jt.org/78/ ...erthwaite.phtml

Someone ought to tell Karl not to eat the candy bar that gets thrown into his cell.

GravatarIt'll make him a "bitch."

GravatarYou can join Tena and I in the second circle. Lust.

If I read my Dante right, Karl and BushCo are going to end up down in Cocytus in ice up to their eyeballs.

Sweet!

GravatarRemember, grand jurys are made up of ordinary citizens. The truth will come out sooner or later no matter what. In a related note, I'd have LOVED to be on this grand jury.

GravatarFrom that same Moonie Times piece --

White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan lashed out at reporters and Democrats for publicly airing "rumor and innuendo and unsubstantiated accusations." For example, Bush detractors have floated the names of three officials as likely to have leaked the CIA employee's identity.
Mr. McClellan said he felt compelled to personally confirm that the trio had not leaked the information. The officials in question are White House political strategist Karl Rove, National Security Council official Eliot Abrams and Vice President Dick Cheney's chief of staff, Lewis "Scooter" Libby.
"There are a lot of names being floated and a lot of unsubstantiated accusations being leveled against good people," he said. "It's the ugly side of Washington, D.C."
Mr. McClellan said finding the identity of the leaker, if there is one, could be challenging.
"Obviously, it is difficult to find out who anonymous sources are," he told reporters. "We all know that that oftentimes doesn't happen."

GravatarIs BushCo crumbling before our very eyes? Are they on the way out. Matalin, Rove, Cheney, Libby? The whole lot of them indicted? Could we see the crew going down sooner than we thought possible?

GDoyle

GravatarMr. McClellan said he felt compelled to personally confirm that the trio had not leaked the information.

'cause god knows we can trust Simple Scottie to tell us the truth.

GravatarKarl and Condi wearing jumpsuit ensembles? Be still my heart....

GravatarI have an admission - I hope I'm not the only one:

I don't understand any of this.

GravatarWhat's up with this?
eric

Good catch, Eric. What IS up that that?

GravatarIf my guess from Oct of 2003 for the two senior White House
leakers, Karl Rove and Condi Rice, turns out to be right, do I win
anything?
George Johnston | Homepage | 07.02.05 - 4:05 pm | #

My undying respect?

Gravatarmaybe before this whole sweater is unraveled

Funny. I blogged this story, quoting Weezer.

GMTA!

GravatarRecycled or not, the fact is the grand jury has been looking for information directly related to top Bush advisors. This can't be good for them....

GravatarAnybody remember the movie Boogie Nights' "The Colonel" getting bitch slapped and crying in his jail cell? Somehow this image comes to mind when thinking about good ole Karl "The Backroom General" future...

GravatarRiesz Fischer ~ except maybe for Persephone
and Ishtar/Inana

One of the most striking Sumerian myths describes Inanna passing through seven gates of hell into the underworld. At each gate some of her clothing and her ornaments are removed until at the last gate she is entirely naked. The queen of the underworld kills her and hangs her corpse on a hook on the wall. When Inanna returns from the underworld by intercession of the clever god, her Uncle, Enki, according to the rules she must find someone to take her place

GravatarRecycled or not, the fact is the grand jury has been looking for information directly related to top Bush advisors. This can't be good for them....

I agree. I am just puzzled by this. I am wondering if there are new subpoenas and they just re-used the language or if their is some confusion at E&P about the date of the story.

GravatarGreen Day up now....doing an
interesting cover....

hehheheheheheh

GravatarBOHICA, Karl! No grease!
.

GravatarChartwell Dutiro are performing now at the Eden Project.

Chartwell Dutiro is a master mbira player from Zimbabwe whose interweaving rhythms and inspired singing has won the hearts of audiences all around the world

GravatarNow...what kind of dirt comes trickling out as retribution by Rove for not covering his ass?

Take them all down with you Turdblossom!

GravatarSorry folks, due to an editing glitch in our system, that Air Force One story (while true) is indeed out of date. We apologize. GM

GravatarWalter,
I'm confused by your confusion. Someone in the WH committed a felony, several felonies. We've known that for a while. Now we know it's "Bush's Brain." And that he, or someone else, was doing it from Air Force One. This is Very Bad, if you're a Bushie.

Anyone been over to Freeperville? How are they taking it?

GravatarThis is clearly a recycled story. Look at the two:

March 6, 2004
http://edition.cnn.com/2004/LAW/...cia.leak.probe/

July 2, 2005
http:// www.editorandpublisher.co...t_id=1000972843

What's up with this?

Eric, you're right, I thought the story looked familiar. So there is not a new request for information on the AF1 calls and the WHIG, contrary to what the E&P story leads one to believe. And it is a screwup on E&P's part.

GravatarAnyone been over to Freeperville? How are they taking it?

Where are the trolls here?

*crickets*

GravatarBTW, wasn't it Ambassador Wilson who actually called up the image of Rove being "frog marched" out of the White House during one of his speaking engagements?

GravatarHoneyBearKelly: Future pic?

After two years of the South Beach Diet -- no cheating!
.

GravatarAnd it is a screwup on E&P's part.

Scroll up a bit.

GravatarKeane up at Live 8.

Not impressive......

Anybody here a fan?

GravatarKeane... eh.

Another attempted Coldplay copy.

Not impressed.

GravatarCAN a President pardon acts of treason?

Perhaps it is within his authority to do so.

I'd like to see him try!

The political blowback to the GOP would be devastating.

"Sen. Frist, yes or no, do you support the Presidents pardoning of the traitor Karl Rove?"

You know, the worst thing about this, is that I'll HAVE to watch Fox News for the oh, so entertaining spin efforts of The Falaffle King and Joe "There's another dead girl in my office!" Scarborough.

GravatarKeane, no guitar, only piano. I like it, and NO, its not a Coldpay copy.

GravatarAgain, yes this story from last year (while true) was inadvertently posted on our site and has now been removed. GM

GravatarLittle Grasshoppers, please
note:
a. Karl was on the attack one week ago. It's remarkable how agile he is at manipulating the press.

b. The office of the president is immensely powerful now and could influence how these events unfold.

c. In the end, potus could grant pardons.."to protect a lot of good, decent people from the 'gotcha' game they play in D.C."

Take a deep breath; enjoy the long weekend; don't count these chickens before they start cheeping.

GravatarKeane up at Live 8. Not impressive...... Anybody here a fan?steve simels

Not when you've got Roxy Music in Berlin.

Gravatar"I just did a google image search for "frog march" and guess who shows up, for no apparent reason...
FeithHeale"

My guess was John Philip Sousa

GravatarThere's one big fat IF that is impairing my ability to enjoy mental images of Turdblossom being frogmarched off to jail:

According to the E&P story referenced by JC above, Rove's lawyer (Luskin) told newsweek that "Rove had testified before the grand jury 'two or three times' and signed a waiver authorizing reporters to testify about their conversations with him." If this is true, then Rove must be pretty confident that no one can tie him to the original leak (to Novakula). All along, Rove has been claiming that he talked to reporters about Plame *after* the Novakula column -- that is, after the illegal outing of a CIA agent occurred. So, unless Novakula has already secretly testified that Rove was his original source, it's possible that Rove will KY Jellyslide his way out of trouble here.

GravatarWow. Just -- wow.

GravatarTHIS IS OLD NEWS

Check the link to the E&P article. It's been pulled. The Grand Jury hasn't supeoned anything new.

Gravatarflobee-- I think Fitzy is on to some information he didn't originally have. Anyone know how long it's been since Rove "testilied"

GravatarHmm. Who else served on the White House Iraq Group?

And wasn't "Jeff Gannon" one of those "two dozen reporters"?

Gravataryou know...seriously...

five hours later....

the readers notice...greg mitchell leaves a comment...yet the fucking post is still up...

when the media does shit like this we go off on them...but this isn't the first time nor will it be the last.

And this site had 3 open threads before the Rove thing was confirmed.

Is anybody home? Does anyone read comments? Does anyone read emails?

but subscription rates to the magazine remain sky high and anyone that complains is ridiculed and dismissed

but shit like this does not look good...all i'm saying.

GravatarI've been reading a lot of blogs calling for Karl Rove to be indicted for treason for leaking a CIA operative's name to the press.

Sadly, it will do no good. Why?

He'll be pardoned instantly.

GravatarNixon didn't pardon anyone, did he? I think he probably thought that in itself would get him impeached.

Bush (or Cheney) might take note of this and not make that "mistake". They might pardon everyone real quick. The press would murmur about it, but they've let him get away with worse.

Gravatar"It's remarkable how agile he is at manipulating the press."

True.

Now let's see how agile he is at manipulating a grand jury.

GravatarNewsweek reported that the group was created in August 2002.

Don't worry. They'll retract it as soon as the WH denies it...

See, nothing to "worry" about fellas.
