I've been thinking about the memo that identified Wilson's wife as Valerie Wilson, and how Novak's column called her Valerie Plame, and wondering at the discrepancy. Did Novak use Plame because that was her undercover name? If it is, then it seems sure that some crime was committed.

Iraq has become a charnal house and it has the dead bodies piling up to prove it.
The poor people are caught between two forces of depravity.
Bushboy & the Insurgents.
Neither cares about human life. All the ignorant and vain Bushboy cares about is making his blunder in Iraq "look good," while the criminally insane Zarqawi only cares about proving his commitment to jihad by blowing up innocent people.
It's a hell of crossfire and if the US had a leader we would get the hell out and let the Iraqis settle this among themselves!

I wonder if all of the same pompous fucks who were calling for Muslims to accept their collective guilt for the London bombing are going to think about the collective guilt we Americans have for buying into the "flypaper strategy".
After all, even if it does work, it still means we consciously lured terrorists to Iraq without any qualms about the civilians they'd kill there.
If I lure a serial killer and pedophile to a working class school in Bridgeport so I don't have to fight him in Greenwich, what am I but his accomplice.

You know, you read this kind of news, and it just makes you sick with rage that anyone would complain about the White House lying and outing spies and smearing people who opposed going into Iraq in the first place. I mean, what kind of anti-American scum would have tried to thwart our glorious mission and deprive Dear Leader of at least one shining success in the long long line of failures that constitute his life's work? You liberals are sick and sadistic fucks for trying to keep from him this one pearl of accomplishment. So some other people had to die for it...a hundred thousand give or take...but so the fuck what? This is Jesus W. Bush we're talking about here! Them that have died were as paramecium on the scale of significance, as it were, to such a man as George W. Bush. A man who not only says he loves Jesus, but claims to be like Jesus himself - free of sin and immune to error.
You have debased yourselves in the eyes of the Lord by your doubting of His one true emissary, George W. Bush, and should all just go shoot yourselves.

50 people/day are blown up in Baghdad and it's environs and it gets brief and perfunctory note from the mass media.
50 people are blown up in London and it is covered 24/7 on all networks, while being condemned for the atrocity it was.

On Washington Week in Review, Martha Radditz of ABC News, to her great credit, did a first rate job of reminding us that what the Londoners suffered last week, the Iraqis suffer every day. She emphasized the numbers of Iraqis killed per month, which averages 800. She laid it out in a way I do not see it often laid out in the MSM. This show, which at one time was a good one, has become dreary and predictable, but it came alive again when Martha was speaking.

Someone up thread called zarqawi someone who is blowing iraqis up just to prove his commitment to low jihad, but that kinda makes him and al qaeda two dimensional actors in this grand play of bush's, what do they gain by blowing up random iraqis?
And would we have been told if the civil war had started?

The interesting thing is that none of the "liberals" like Tom Friedman who were screaming about how Muslims should denounce the London bombings will scream about how Muslims should denounce this one.
And yet barring any wild conspiracy these were still Sunni Muslims blowing up Shiite Muslims.
The "liberals" who were screaming about Muslims needing to accept some form of collective guilt, why don't they think Muslims should accept collective guilt about this?
I guess it's because they're blowing up "them" and not "us". We won't hear much about "Death Cults" or the "Islamic Culture of Death" about this one.
The right will give us talk about how this proves they're in their "last throws".
The "left" will talk about the 1700 American soldiers killed.

Ok SWR, here goes from this liberal.
Muslims need to take responsibility for this shit. Both for when they kill Westerners and themselves. What you say about Friedman is wrong, too, of course, but that's another story. There's not enough outcry from Muslims against suicide bombings and terrorism. There was more of an outcry over a stupid book being flushed down a toilet, than there has been with all of these Muslim killing Muslim bombings.
And the West is culpable too! It seems like a double standard to have a moment of silence for the victims of the London bombings, but to have nothing for the victims of the Baghdad bombings.
Muslim lives are being devalued by both sides. And as such, the cycle of terror will continue on.
Adam 4-4-2 |
07.16.05 - 9:06 pm | #
Actually, outrage following suicide bombings floods the Arab press.
Since we don't read Arabic and don't watch Middle Eastern and Muslem TV, we cannot comment on outrage or lack thereof.
And since we obviously don't give a shit about Muslems and the peoples of the Middle East, why should they share their outrage with us.
If someone kills my father, rapes my sister and humiliates my uncle in a prison run by the infidels, I'm not going to be outraged...I am going to get my revenge on the motherfuckers who unjustly invaded my homeland and systemtically destroyed my society.

The group responsible could be one of many, since you can't break down the Iraqi people into just two sides.
They could be insurgents (my guess), one of many terrorist groups, one of many militia groups, freedom fighters, or individuals trying to foment a civil war.
Why don't you head to Iraq right now and find out?
