It is now clear: There has been an element of pretense to the White House strategy of dealing with the Plame case since the earliest days of the saga. Revelations emerging slowly at first, and in a rapid cascade over the past several days, have made plain that many important pieces of the puzzle were not so mysterious to Rove and others inside the Bush administration. White House officials were aware of Plame and her husband's potentially damaging charge that Bush was "twisting" intelligence about Iraq's nuclear ambitions well before the episode evolved into Washington's latest scandal
Liberals should leave this country and find their socialist paradise elsewhere. We, The People, believe in hard work and keeping what you earn. Taxation and Eminent Domain are theft. Yet, you liberals support both. Who hates America, and who loves her? The people have already decided -- AND VOTED. Losers.

"A day later, Cheney's top aide, I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, told Cooper he had heard the same thing about Plame, and a senior administration official flagged the role of Wilson's wife, almost in passing, to The Washington Post's Walter Pincus."
A wapo reporter, pincus, was told about plame by a "senior administration official", but wapo won't tell us who that was. Was it turd blossom? Why won't they tell us!
Also:
In private, the senior White House adviser [rove] was meeting, on five occasions, with federal prosecutors to tell what he knew about the matter.

Does seem that way to me as well. The story begins simply enough: but then there are more and more stories furthering the original.
Someone today had an interesting thought: they stated that this was similar to Watergate in the sense that "someone" was mad about losing the war in VietNam. This anger enabled the furthering of the story. In this instance: the Iraqi Qwagmire is intensifying the action.
But I am feeling like '72 again

It's funny how much the Right whines about postmodern critique - a discipline that virtually all its practicioners declared dead some time ago - given that they're probably its biggest adherents and beneficiaries. I think it was Bruno Latour who worried recently that postmodernism had given the powers that be an extremely potent set of weapons...far more potent than they ever were for the Left. Hmm. Okay -- a couple more questions:
1.) Does your AC adaptor have a little box between the AC cord, and the cord that goes to the laptop? If so, does it have a little indicator light on it, and if so, does it light up?
2.) The problem may be the PC end of the power cord, but it perhaps more likely to be a broken connection inside the laptop. If it's out of warranty, take it to a TV repair place. They can fix either problem for very little money.

She said kitties usually like it, and it makes kitty fur shiny & beautiful.
So I got some & I did that -- and both kitties just *loved* it. So stay tuned for updates on the improved shininess & beauty of both kitty coats.

Laptop power adapters can be a pain. I've been through about three or so. There are semi-generic versions that are less pricey.
I hate the way they tend to loosen the power plugs in the unit, since they place such leverage on them, dragging cords, etc. If mine were just loose, falling off, I'd use rubber band technology to fix that. If it's loose solder up inside the laptop, it's usually absurdly troublesome to fix it. Technology - bah!

On Oct. 28, Talon News, a news company tied to a group called GOP USA, posted on the Internet an interview with Wilson in which the Talon News questioner asks: "An internal government memo prepared by U.S. intelligence personnel details a meeting in early 2002 where your wife, a member of the agency for clandestine service working on Iraqi weapons issues, suggested that you could be sent to investigate the reports. Do you dispute that?"

We should be having the local vendors (poor folk who make some side money going up into the mountains to pick them.) selling them where my road hits the main highway through here, by the end of this month.
Let me check on this but I think it's possible to ship them via overnight FedEx. Being berries, they are kind of hard to ship unless they are frozen, but then that's how I handle them every year. I buy many gallons of them, triple pack them in plastic freezer bags, & have them the rest of the year. I'm still eating off of them from last year, and being that it's getting close to this years season makes me think I should just cook up the remainder of them now.
Pretty tasty though in the dead of winter, when it's 20 below, the wind is blowing and I've got a crowd of hungry teenagers to feed in the morning. Couple of lbs of bacon, three doz eggs and a triple scone recipie with extra sugar and huckleberries.

Central Scrutinzer is correct. The "David Patterson" of this thread is not the David Patterson of Haloscan legend. The real David Patterson would never be so blandly generic. The real DP's posts were masterpieces of literary pretension and adolescent rage that glimmered with inadvertent psychosexual revelations. He was the Ed Wood of trolls, taking inanity to bizarre and often weirdly personal heights (or lows). The trolls of today can't hold a candle to him.

Sallyh and everyone else. If you are serious about getting some huckleberries, there some berry brokers (I kid you not) around kalispell MT and also, in Idaho. Because I can get them locally I just buy them from the local venders, though, they don't have the quantity as the berry brokers. I think I can find the phone numbers of the berry people.

"Central Scrutinzer is correct. The trolls of today can't hold a candle to him."

Suicide Blast Kills 54 at Iraq Gas Station
By ROBERT H. REID
Associated Press Writer
Published July 16, 2005, 9:53 PM CDT
BAGHDAD, Iraq -- An insurgent suicide bomber detonated explosives strapped to his body Saturday, triggering a huge explosion at a gas station near a mosque south of Baghdad and killing at least 54 people. The attack capped a string of three major bombings over the past four days that killed at least 120.
Police Capt. Muthanna Khaled Ali and Dr. Adel Malallah of the Jumhuri General Hospital in Hillah, the provincial capital, said the gas station blast in Musayyib, about 40 miles south of Baghdad, killed 54 and wounded at least 82 others.
In Baghdad, the Interior Ministry put the casualty count at 51 dead and 82 wounded, but the report was believed based on a preliminary count.
Witnesses and police said the fuel tanker was moving slowly toward the pumps when an attacker ran to it and detonated his charge. A cluster of houses near the city-center gas station caught fire, the witnesses said. Gasoline stations in Iraq routinely include a number of small businesses selling tea, soft drinks and snacks and are often crowded with people.

For all the trolls, Bush apologists, and propagandists:
Just now, from Seabisuit:
David McCullough (VO):
"They called it Relief, but it was a lot more than that. It had dozens of names - NRA, the WPA, the CCC - but it really came down to just one thing; for the first time, in a long time, someone cared. For the first time, in a long time, you were no longer alone."

Creepiness Factors Surrounding the Bush Clan
or
Tricky Dick Was Bush-League Compared to Chimpy
I am sure it will offend some, just one interpretation of history. Lets just look at the “creepiness factors” here.
The Bush family fortune did not come from oil -- it came from financing the Nazis in WW I. There was an investigation (official record) and I believe some assets were frozen and even seized.
In fact, some say the Prescotts and other powerful elites were actually behind Hitler's rise to power in Germany. Think about this – it is a fact that the propaganda techniques had their roots in America. Was Hitler an evil genius or a stupid puppet -- anyone else see some scary possibilities here.
Georges grandfather, Prescott is responsible for bringing Richard Nixon into politics, set him up, and provided direction and support.
George I was involved with the CIA many years before being its director under Gerald Ford. He was involved with the Bay of Pigs. Some believe he has connections, direct or indirect, with JFK assassination. If you do not accept the Warren Commission, and most Americans don’t, then the murder of an elected president was nothing less than a coup d’etat. It is a verified fact, that the rest of the world accepts though it was never given the press it deserved, that chimpy did not win in 2000 – another coup d’tat?
If you think the JFK case is convoluted and full of lies – check of the RFK murder! Most certainly this paved the way for tricky dick to get into the Whitehouse (remember, this is Prescott’s main man). Isn’t this, in many ways, a coup too? While where at it – Martin Luther King’s murder was the result of a conspiracy – at least that is what a judge and jury decided when they heard the evidence. How come the rest of America never heard the evidence.
Nixon could not have possibly resigned over the Watergate burglary -- this is minor league stuff, especially by today's standards. What possibly could have been on that 18-minute gap that cannot be recovered with today's technology? You know that you cannot actually erase your hard-drive this clean. A secretary certainly did not erase these tapes in this matter by herself. No -- this is not a direct Bush thing, unless there was direct, indirect involvement with JFK murder. Any other speculation as to what was on that tape?
The Reagan assassination attempt was done by the son of a close bush family friend -- while Ronald ran as an aggressive, "reform" type in 1980, he became a passive "hands-off" delegate after the assassination attempt. Coincidence -- Nancy Reagan could not stand the Bushes.
If you can accept that their was Bush involvement with the CIA and perhaps even the Reagan assassination attempt, then please look at this link:
Neil Bush was a major player in the Savings and Loan scandal -- cost us billions. He told congress that he received million dollar loans that were "forgiven" and that this "happens all the time." Does anyone else think this makes chimpy's Social Security con more reprehensible?
Bush Sr. was having breakfast with Bakr bin Laden, brother of Osama, the morning of 9/11 at a Carlyle Group shareholders meeting.
Is it possible that the Bush family has connections to some of the most disturbing events in the past 100 years?
I humbly present this for discussion only, not as fact – “Gemstone” files style, seeking to promote ddialog. Much of this would never be verifiable if true – run these topics through your favorite “search engine,” see what you find, decide for your self, and share your ideas.

The key word is "analyst"; the specific business is not so important.
It sounds like you're in the business I escaped.

Eli, I'm dumb as a stump. What are you saying here?
Just that while I have no especial fondness for banking, I *do* have an affinity for being an analyst, with all its attendant problem-solving, troubleshooting, project management, and database/spreadsheet construction.

Well, THAT's a relief.
OT but lion kitty Maxx is home and doing remarkably well considering that, in the words of the vet this evening, "he actually visited the other side."
I wonder if kitties see a bright light and a tunnel too?

Hey, when do we get to frog-march Sandy Berger?
Is pilfering NSC documents and shredding them prior to appearing before the 9/11 Commission a crime?
Just wondering.

If castigating your country is patriotic, is castigating your spouse love?
Do you freely point out his/her faults and shortcomings? Profanely? In public?
If not, why not?
Perhaps, then, castigating your country is not patriotic.
