The profitablility of an ER depends on the hospital's location and whether or not the majority of visits are knife and gun club or heart attacks and auto accidents. The latter make money, the former don't - which is why public hospitals are often the only ones with ER's in inner cities.

It is possible to extract the cells from adults but this is a more invasive process and the stem cells are more differentiated compared to the pluripotent umbilical cord stem cells. Basically, there is no guarantee of finding the correct type. The cells we collect however have the potential to treat almost any illness imaginable.'"

What I find interesting here is that this is the only article I found using "Pluripotent umbilical cord stem cells" in google, and will look later into the multipotent stem cells that are usually associated with umbilical stem cells. All in all the situation is a little weird, since the public has been lead to believe that a stem cell is a stem cell, inwhich case there is very little reason to antagonize large portions of the population with this issue.
