I think Strickland has a good chance to win the governor's race. The other races aren't as clear. We need strong candidates for Attorney General, Auditor, and Secretary of State, and I don't see them yet. But getting Strickland in the governor's office will be very helpful. I'm also curious about the Reform Ohio movement, which seeks to take power away from the Secretary of State's office. If Reform Ohio succeeds, that may make the Secretary of State's race less important.

Chimayo: Rancho de Chimayo is great. Have a Chimayo Cocktail, a drink which i invented; the food this time of year will be designed for the natives, so will be spicy...
Pojoaque (is at the intersection of the los alamos hiway and the espanola hiway): the restaurant in the Pojoaque Casino hotel is quite good; it has a distinctilvely Indian flavor, as opposed to Chimayo's
latino flavor...
in espanola/riverside, el paragua used to be quite good (on the road to Chimayo, but only a block off the main highway; delia's is a classic cheapy, on the west side of Riverside Drive, toward san juan pueblo; matilda's, just north of the bridge over the Santa Cruz river...there's a great place on the espanola side, on the road out toward Santa Clara pueblo, on the west side of the road, just opposite the road over the Santa Cruz bridge...
i cannot speak for ANY resaturants in Los Alamos...there's a blake's Lottaburger there, which is a good choice anytime...
i don't know too much about taos, or raton...
Vestal Vespa has been through Raton a few times, so she might have recommendations.
Taos is such a maven-haven, everything there's likely to be pretty pricey...their 'good' restaurants are excellent but dear...

I have a lot of affection for incog and when he goes off on a tear I try to say something helpful or kind. But the others. I really worry about how their exchanges here carry over into their real lives, I worry about the people around them, I worry ... Well, I guess I just worry. So much negative energy seems to go out into the world when these exchanges begin to occur.

I am duty-bound to report the talk of the New Orleans warehouse district last night: there was rejoicing (well, there would have been without the curfew, but the few people I saw on the streets were excited) when the power came back on for blocks on end. Kevin Tibbles was positively jubilant on the live update edition of Nightly News that we fed to the West Coast. The mini-mart, long ago cleaned out by looters, was nonetheless bathed in light, including the empty, roped-off gas pumps. The motorcade route through the district was partially lit no more than 30 minutes before POTUS drove through. And yet last night, no more than an hour after the President departed, the lights went out. The entire area was plunged into total darkness again, to audible groans. It's enough to make some of the folks here who witnessed it... jump to certain conclusions.

moi - in Santa Fe, I would recommend skipping Geronimo's. It's one of the most expensive places in town, it's over on Canyon Rd where the galleries are. It is supposed to be about the best, so it comes highly recommended.
I find it egregiously overpriced. Last time I was there with a friend, she had one glass of wine, we had a meal and desert and it was $300. Don't do it.

Tia Sophia's in the trainyard is great and cheap...Cowgirl Hall ofg Fame on Guadalupe is good food and funky...Guadalupe Cafe, wherever it now resides, was always a good place; the Shed is justly famed for its blue corn red chile enchiladas; the palza cafe if still open, is good food, and downstairs from the re House, which has a balcony that overlooks the plaza; the pink adobe, on College is famously popular; Maria's on Cordova Road, is an old favorite; tapas at El Farol are pricey, but the bar is famous and fun; Harry's Roadhouse, on the Las Vegas Hiway; there's so many good restaurants in santa fe it's embarrassing...

I like the Commander's Palace downtown, too. It's an old place, very popular bar with locals. It's somewhat expensive but the food is wonderful. Love their patio.

I regret to inform you that the Palace, of the flocked wallpaper and naked 'Indian Princess' over the nar closed this year. A couple of years ago new owners tried to change the joint from traditional prime beef and cigars in the bar to a North Italian menu and it failed. There's anew owner, I'm told it's an upscale Mexcian, but my fond memories of the old Palace prevent me from going there to see what travesties they've inflicted on the place.
Other great New Mexican restaurants:
Tomasita's, on Gaudalupe, Maria's on cordova road, Horseman's Haven out on south Cerrilos. Tecolote for Breakfast ! 7:30am to 2pm closed on Momday. Have the sheepherder's breakfast an you won't need to eat until dinner.
other good restaurants in SF:
India Palace - downtown and their cousin, India House out on Cerrilos.
Japanese - Shoko
Chinese - Mr Chow's out on St Mike's or Hunan on Cerrilos. Hunan more traditonal menu. Chows has sprng rolls to die for.

It would be in Thomas Aquinas's "Summa Theologie" -- I know the Domincans came up with a new improved translation in the 1970s -- we have the old version (incorrectly titled "Summa Theologica" according to the pedants, thought they both really mean the same thing) -- usually the indices & the organization are pretty good for helping you ginf things -- I just am not into scholasticism (I respect the attempt to use reason in theological inquiry, but reason can only get you so far & sometimes "reason" will lead you over a cliff)
