GravatarI got nothin'.

GravatarThat's nice David. Now go upstairs and play with your imaginary friends.

GravatarStupid liberal moonbat idiots.

Fuck you, you pussy.

What you got for that?

GravatarA shroe, a shroe, my dingkom for a shroe.

GravatarWell, trollie's been watching the march on C-SPAN, he's probably beside himself with hate. I mean, did you see all those brown folks pronouncing their "R"s in that weird, Middle Eastern way?

GravatarIt's time for ignore the troll day!

Gravatari'm watchin the feed from 9th St NW & Constitution Ave NW, and can't tell if it's the tail end at this time or the bulk of the crowd has yet to get there...

GravatarHear, hear.

GravatarI wonder if there's much partying going on at the protest?

I used to love that part of the demonstrations. Blow a doob, swig some sangria.

Oh, and try and make a little time with the ladies.

GravatarThirteenth.

GravatarDoes anyone here think that the government's weak response to Katrina might have been a convenient excuse to attempt to suspend the posse comitatus act?

GravatarYo BD -

Whassup, my brother?

GravatarThreadheads are very sexy.

Gravatarconvenient excuse to attempt to suspend the posse comitatus act

Well, given that Bush has been yapping about an "expanded role for the military", it makes me kinda nervous about what they intend...

Gravatarconvenient excuse to attempt to suspend the posse comitatus act

And any challenge to executive authority will eventually see its way to the Roberts court.

GravatarYou can't ignore me. I have the power of God Almighty, which compels you to answer to my comments. You liberal devils will pay. The end times are at hand!!!!!

GravatarSup Billy? Sittin' here baked like a Christmas ham onna lazy Saturday.

You?

GravatarYa know, for the past couple of years, whenever I see Poppy Bush I have a mental picture of him being alone; with his head in his hands; saying "it was supposed to be Jeb! It was supposed to be Jeb!"
What a disappointment Junior must be to any parent.

GravatarFrom: http://stangoff.com/index.php?p=182

I was recently apprised by someone from Belgium of a bizarre and disturbing internet porn-swap. A porn site that is registered in Florida has offered US troops in Iraq free access to sexual pornography (ostensibly pictures of “real wives and girlfriends” a la Hustler’s “Beaver Shots”) in exchange for the more necrophilic brand of pornography — grotesque pictures of war dead, often collected as photographic “trophies” by troops in combat.

At last count, over 100 US troops were participating in this swap. Even more interesting is the fact that the Belgians who discovered this have repreatedly tried to get the US media to pick this story up, but to no avail.

---

Perhaps a little more attention is all the media will need before picking this story up?

Gravatarconvenient excuse to attempt to suspend the posse comitatus act

Devastation in the South led to the Act in the first place. Devastation in the South will lead to its demise.

Does Shrubco do any tricks other than irony?

GravatarYou cannot sit here like a Christmas ham onna lazy Saturday.
The power of Christ compels you to respond to me this very instant!!!!!!

GravatarIt's spinoza's fault that I wasn't first. Damn you spinoza.

GravatarWhat a disappointment Junior must be to any parent.

Why? I can only imagine how much richer and more powerful they are now than they were in 2000.

GravatarJust like a liberal to invoke the name of a third-rate philosopher like Spinoza. The only philosopher that I need to know about is the risen Lord Jesus Christ Almighty (May God Bless His Holy Name).

GravatarMeanwhile, the core of the Democratic party is on CSPAN

GravatarDavid McCullough?

GravatarYou will all burn in hell for persecuting men of God like Tom DeLay and Bill Frist.

GravatarThe trolls here are pretty untalented.

GravatarI was recently apprised by someone from Belgium of a bizarre and disturbing internet porn-swap

There's an article about a similar setup at Common Dreams, about a porn site that's mutating into a war-porn site. Obviously folks have way too much free time over there...

GravatarWell, george the incompetent is flying into Austin to pretend to help with the hurricane. It's funny because on CNN they are showing a split screen with AF1 coming down the runway and the hurricane's devastation on the other screen. Like what does one have to do with the other? They might as well show the Philadelphia Mummer's Parade or dogs performing tricks on skateboards because they have as to do with the cleanup as the incompetent one.

GravatarThe only philosopher that I need to know about is the risen Lord Jesus Christ Almighty (May God Bless His Holy Name).
David Patterson

Yeah? You've read all of the works that Jesus wrote?

GravatarI heard about the porn 4 bodies photo swap too. Profoundly disturbing!

Gravataris the fact that the Belgians who discovered this have repreatedly tried to get the US media to pick this story up, but to no avail.

Is that the US media making a Belgian waffle?

GravatarWell, george the incompetent is flying into Austin to pretend to help with the hurricane.

He had to take Air Force 1 'cause his super-cape is at the cleaner's.

GravatarMeanwhile, the core of the Republican party is at the laundramat, washing their sheets.

GravatarI watch CSPAN with the sound turned down and with Dark Side of the Moon on my stereo. You should see how it syncs up almost like it means something. I have to do it that way 'cause they use such big words on that goddamn CSPAN.

Gravatar... Billmon's got it - via The Nation....

GravatarFormer Democrat Presidential Candidate stands with one of the new idols of the anti-American left

Man with a peace symbol shaved into his chest (smooooth)

GravatarIt's spinoza's fault that I wasn't first. Damn you spinoza.

I am honored.

Gravatar Does anyone here think that the government's weak response to Katrina might have been a convenient excuse to attempt to suspend the posse comitatus act?

GravatarThere are more people reading this sentence than were in attendance at the anti-war rally in DC a few hours ago.

Still, I question the camera angles.

GravatarMan with a peace symbol shaved into his chest (smooooth)

At least it's better than football fan face-painting.

GravatarI hooked up with our local chapter of Veterans for Peace, so I could actually DO something. We have been collecting relief supplies at a gas station in Mission Viejo and repacking them for shipment directly to hurricane victims in the gulf. Borrowed a friend's pickup to go around to high schools, collecting what the kids have donated. I tell 'em that they are the true heroes of the people.

VFP nationwide has already shipped over 1000 tons of relief supplies
to people in need, and a guy I met who just returned from driving down there said the only obstacles they met in trying to help were FEMA and the National Guard, the control freaks and fear mongers...

Now we are partnering with a black-run relief group, SOS, already there, to reach people. We'll be back up, stronger than before, after Rita settles down. Then our caravans will go back in.

GravatarDavid Patterson-

You calling me a third-rate philosopher? I am going to grind your little eyeballs for that.

GravatarI don't have to read the works of Jesus Christ. I've read the whole Left Behind series twice. And I've got New Testament for Dummies.

GravatarSo to get the accurate count for march attendance, do we just split the organizers' estimates and the MSM estimates? I've seen 100K-300K reported from different sources...

GravatarThere's more people at the protest with peace symbols shaved into their hair.

I hope.

As for the DC protest, it's probably 100 people or so. Nothing worth covering on CSPAN.

GravatarStole this from Americablog

'George Bush has become a hurricane hunter. Like those pilots who fly into the storm, Bush has been criss-crossing the country looking for the best ways to show that he’s offering a competent and compassionate response to Hurricanes Rita and Katrina.'

Bush trying to look competent. Mission Impossible

GravatarHaloscan, you bitch -

convenient excuse to attempt to suspend the posse comitatus act

Well, I could tell in his speech in NOLA that he meant that to be nasty. The way he said it: "I'm hearing you want more federal involvement, well I'll give it to you," was a fucking threat. It really was. I knew what he meant and that was the only part of that speech in which he told the truth and revealed himself for what he is.

"It would be a lot easier if it was a dictatorship. As long as I get to be dictator."

Dream on Commander CooCoo Bananas.

GravatarACCORDING TO THE LEFT:

Bush should have tried to micromanage before Katrina.

Bush shouldn't try to micromanaged before Rita.

GravatarLeave it to liberals to be protesting in Washington while our beloved Vice-President is having life-threatening surgery. You guys have no decency. I went to give blood today for Mr. Chaney, but they told me he didn't use the stuff. I bet he uses one of those new synthetic blends.

GravatarHaloscan, you bitch -

You have trouble accepting responsibility for your own actions, don't you?

Typical libbie.

GravatarSup Billy? Sittin' here baked like a Christmas ham onna lazy Saturday.

You?
Ba®ndog

Been hanging out here. I puttied and primed an exterior window this am and am waiting on the primer to cure so I can paint the top coat.

NCAA football on in the background.

I'm going to head to the likker store in a few to pick up some brew and work on that buzz, also.

GravatarSo getting things set up before a disaster is micromanagement. I guess for the gop incompetence is the new black.

Gravatar I don't have to read the works of Jesus Christ. I've read the whole Left Behind series twice. And I've got New Testament for Dummies.
David Patterson

If this wasn't posted by one of us to make fun of Patterson, then honest to god, there is no fucking use in talking to him. He's a fucking moron.

GravatarI saw Howard Dean on television standing next to a black guy. You wouldn't catch President Bush doing something like that. Not unless he owned him. And Condaleeza, because everybody knows the President likes the dark meat.

GravatarThere's more people at the protest with peace symbols shaved into their hair._

Someone's got a hair fetish.

GravatarBush deferred to Blanco on account of the issue of posse comitatus, and not because of her actual competence.

She is a dolt. She and Nagin should be impeached.

GravatarFunny how some new open threads just pick up where the preceding one left off, and others-- like this one-- are utterly disconnected from the previous discussion.

And maggot-infested, to boot.

I won't even bother to repost my laboriously composed long-winded screed deposited below.

GravatarTrolls? Phewey. Taste like shit and leave a bad odor.

GravatarI should have known the trolls would be here today. Nothing like a major peace protest to get the reich's collective pink panties in a wad.

GravatarACCORDING TO THE LEFT:

Bush should have tried to micromanage before Katrina.

Bush shouldn't try to micromanaged before Rita.

Gary Ruppert

There's a whole world of difference between micro management and preparation. And what we object to isn't his preparaing to respond to Rita it's his using it as a photo-op to compensate for his preious failings.

GravatarI found out I had a shop, earlier. Hey, I even started up the not-so-rusty chainsaw. Still runs like a raped ape.

Watch the fuck out, Dave. The target is locked on, and the chain is tight & rusty.

GravatarSo getting things set up before a disaster is micromanagement. I guess for the gop incompetence is the new black.

Racist!

GravatarFucking shit bastards.

Do I fit in now?

GravatarTrue trolls think Spinoza is the greatest of of the antipasti.

What we have here is a pseudo-troll.

Hail.

GravatarIt was a good screed, Little Brother. I've been pondering the same balance as well, going back to that rancorous Americablog thread.

GravatarI hope y'all read EMRosa's list of anti-war rally do's and don'ts over at the Daily Kos. I have a link to it at my blog, too.

Very entertaining.

GravatarACCORDING TO THE LEFT:

Bush shouldn't have hired useless political hacks to run FEMA.

Bush shouldn't have finished the back nine before attending to Hurricane Katrina.

Typical liberals.

GravatarThere were very few left-liberals there protesting today. Most Americans support Bush, want to stay the course and bring freedom, not make sacrifice of our brave soldiers in vain. And their whining is falling on def ears.
.

GravatarLittle Brother - I'm going to go down to the lower thread and read your long, carefully composed comment.

so there.

GravatarIt figures that a racist leftist is trying to steal my name.

Gravatar"You cannot sit here like a Christmas ham onna lazy Saturday."

hey bats - is it me or is this one of the more inane things he's ever said?

GravatarBush deferred to Blanco on account of the issue of posse comitatus, and not because of her actual competence.

Bush didn't defer to her at all. He avoided her calls, but went out of his way to coordinate with Republican governors.

GravatarACCORDING TO THE LEFT:

Fuck Bush

Fuck Bush

and, oh yes, Fuck Bush

GravatarWell, ya know taking the people to the Superdome worked. It was a refuge of last resort and had enough supplies for two days. Only problem is that the incompetent Bush adm. then screwed the pooch. And this thing has federalized days before.

GravatarLiberal lefty moonbat bias! So funny and pathetic at the same time. Thanks for 2004, Moore-ons!

GravatarSome facts:

Gore lost.

Kerry lost.

Your fault.

Keep whining.

GravatarThere were very few left-liberals there protesting today. Most Americans support Bush, want to stay the course and bring freedom, not make sacrifice of our brave soldiers in vain. And their whining is falling on def ears.

Oh really? Then why is it most polls have support for a pullout/draw-down at over 60%?

GravatarYou left one out: Fuck Bush!

Worst. President. Ever.

GravatarA prediction for Georgie-Boy- if Karl Rove gets taken down by the long arm of the law, the rudderless Bush won't make it to the end of his term. Indeed, it wouldn't surprise me if the in way over his head empty suit became the first president to commit suicide while in office.

GravatarTypical asshole liberals. Can't engage me in an honest debate, so you steal my name.

Toby, let's get out of here. I just got the new Michelle Malkin calendar.

GravatarTrolls are people who seem to spend a great deal of time accomplishing nothing.

I have yet to see one non-troll say something like "God, I have been wrong all along, Go Bush!"

GravatarWell, ya know, you wouldn't hire a useless political hack to be your doctor or dentist or even lawyer. FEMA deals with people's lives and a professional should be in charge not a horse judge.

GravatarEverybody knows the polls are all manipulated by the Left to make the Bush look bad. I saw a poll over at Stormfront and they show Bush's approval rating being over 70%, second only to Adolph Hitler, who came in at 79%.
Give Bush another year, he'll pull ahead of the Fuhrer.

GravatarY'all are in a very small minority in this country, and that very small minority keeps shrinking.

Great theory. Now why do you keep losing elections?

Oh, right - it's hateful idiots like you who turn people away.

Ruppeepee, you don't debate. You spout lies like a little puss and expect folks to agree. You're a dildo.

Let's go over it again, Rupeepee.
Extinguish the pilot on the gas stove, crank up the burners, wait 15 minutes, and flick your Bic. BOOM.
You can do it.

GravatarOK, I changed my mind. I'm reposting after all.

I am of two minds on this.

I'm thinking of the interview in "Before Stonewall", or a similar gay rights documentary, in which one of the first public protestors to anti-gay discrimination pointed out that a conscious choice was made to wear dress clothes during their demonstration.

(Oh, and only the men wore suits and ties, and only the women wore dresses-- as far as the casual viewer could tell, at least.)

And to my sympathetic eye, those courageous pioneers, men, women and otherwise, indeed looked dignified and respectable.

Then I think of the "Queer Nation" phase, with hot video bites eagerly, even gleefully, broadcast on local news just to creep out not only Granny, but Daddy, Mommy, Bub, and Sis.

So I think, yeah, it's obvious that public demonstrations should be conducted to appeal to non-participants as far as possible, and let the solidarity and the "preaching to the choir" take care of itself.

But I also resent the pathological commoditization of culture, which dictates that life is an artifact of mass media rather than the other way around. And I can sincerely say that even intelligent people don't "get" that it's all "really" an infomercial.

It's like saying forget the heart, forget the moment, forget the natural energy of people uniting in a cause, i.e. solidarity, forget the soul, the kairos. It's all savvy product placement, clarity of "message"-- making the sale.

It's easy to claim that it's possible to craft a focused message and promote all of the above, but it's like the difference between being and acting.

I don't think that the "average" person is going to tune in to the coverage to help make up his/her mind anyway. Pro-war, pro-Bush types will tune in just long enough to confirm their prejudices.

They will scorn the yowling herd of cats.

GravatarLet's see, about three thousand showed up for Rummy's Reichstand rally. The lowest estimate for today is 50,000, and that's with no trains out of NYC and buses being diverted. Hmmmm.

Is it one troll or many that have infested.

GravatarNow was the BookTV deal on the Mall going on at the same time as the march?

Bobo could have scanned the crowd for any "real" Americans...

GravatarYou guys watch. Bush will win again in '08 and then you're really gonna cry!

GravatarNow why do you keep losing elections?

Gee maybe its because the Republican party hates democracy and does everything it can to supress or engineer the vote rather then letting the people decide for them selves.

Gravatar" rorschach -- Every minute of every day needs to be completely-and-utterly-ignore-trolls day. Their soul damage spreads like a virus.

GravatarGee maybe its because the Republican party hates democracy and does everything it can to supress or engineer the vote rather then letting the people decide for them selves.

You ever see how that resembles Christian "logic"?

If you actually won an election, then it would validate you. If you lose, it's a conspiracy.

Christians do something similar. They'll preach to you from the Bible. But if you turn the words of the Bible against them, they say that the Bible says that "unbelievers" were foretold to use the Bible against "believers", ergo, they're never wrong or at fault.

Woohoo!

Gary Qualls, 48, of Temple, Texas, whose Marine reservist son, Louis, died last year in the insurgent stronghold of Fallujah, asked: "If you bring them home now, who's going to be responsible for all the atrocities that are fixing to happen over there? Cindy Sheehan?"

Christians don't have evidence to support their logic. I'd gladly concede the last two elections to Bush if it wasn't for the exit polling in Florida and the statistical errors in Ohio. Or do you think its just coincidence that Bush came out ahead in a district that had 10,000 more people vote than were registered is a co-incidence? Or maybe you approve of conservative activists throwing Democratic voter registrations in the trash like they did in Nevada?

GravatarI enjoy watching the screws tighten on Jack Abramoff. His former aide, Susan Ralston was questioned, David Safavian was arrested, former partner Adam Kidan arrested, and Jack himself arrested too.

Abramoff's been on the inside for decades. He knows a LOT of dirt.

Wouldn't it be nice if he took down the entire Repuklican party? I'd bet he could.

The Elephant in the room it could be said.

GravatarTheo, which event traumatized you more: the 2000 Election or the atrocities of 11 September 2001?

GravatarHi, Moonbats!

Can't even begin to estimate the size of the crowd. Absolutely huge. Just back in and am going to collapse in a tub of hot water for a while, but the march was amazing. So many people that the crowd often had to stop and stand in place for long periods of time. Walked past the WH behind an amazing group of very young kids (late high school? early college?) dancing and chanting:

"It's bullshit.
Get off it.
This war is for profit.
Violence and occupation
Cannot lead to liberation.
That's bullit.
Get off it.
This war is for profit."

They give me hope.

Also spent some time just standing and crying with an old guy whose sign said, "I didn't fight in WWII so George Bush could lie to America." My dad was in the Pacific and this guy was in Europe, but they both fought to save an America that is fast disappearing under George Bush.

An incredible range of ages, colors, sexual orientations, religions. (My group walked for a while next to the American Baptist Coalition for Peace of North America.) When people chanted, "Tell me what democracy looks like? THIS is what democracy looks like," you knew it was the truth.

Very, very few police seen and the ones that I did see were fine. Saw zero pro-war protestors, but I heard that they were a few of them down by the Navy Memorial metro stop.

I'll check back in later, my old bones get tireder than they did when I marched against the Viet Nam war.

GravatarYou don't hear any Americans saying they wish Mother Sheehan were dead, do you?

Boy, someone's obviously never read through the Yahoo! message boards.

GravatarWhy does Terry want the President to die? I think that's excessive. You don't hear any Americans saying they wish Mother Sheehan were dead, do you?
Toby Petzold

Cindy Sheehan hasn't destroyed the country, made it hated throughout the world and trashed the economy.

What Bush has done to this country is "excessive."

Smarter trolls, please!

GravatarYou don't hear any Americans saying they wish Mother Sheehan were dead, do you?

GravatarThanks for update, Hecate.

Looking forward to your account of the thing.

GravatarYeh, anonymouse, the gop controls everything and you STILL are a pathetic little man.

I can't believe how many psychics post here.

Perhaps you psychics should band together and make billions off of the stock market, then buy up all the major media.

GravatarMommie! The big bully stole my cheetos! wahhhhhhhh

GravatarTheo, which event traumatized you more: the 2000 Election or the atrocities of 11 September 2001?
Toby Petzold

One led to the other.

GravatarNow, I admit I didn't watch much of CSPAN's coverage (on account of my low nausea threshhold), but there weren't 50K anywhere near that thing. If you actually believe that, then you're hallucinating.

No Tobes, the folks were there. I saw at least 100K file by on the live traffic cam.

Facts is tough things, ain't they?

Gravatar"The only philosopher that I need to know about is the risen Lord Jesus Christ Almighty (May God Bless His Holy Name).
David Patterson"

It's too bad your philosopher never helped you to understand how the natural and eternal law of cause and effect affects both you personally as well as all of us collectively.

Cause and effect (karma) is sorta skimmed over lightly in the Bible, but it's essentially how we came to be here now, universally, in spite of whatever bullshit dogma you were raised with.

You might even say that these hurricanes are the collective karmic payback for all of us having a hard time figuring out how to treat each other with respect and dignity across the board, for a very long time.

GravatarAthenae has a picture up of the protest. Better take a look, wingers - it's America and it's coming for you.

GravatarTena, bonita, I believe eet was thees "Mrs Ibraham Al-Jaaffari" that first pointed eet out.

GravatarA prediction for Georgie-Boy- if Karl Rove gets taken down by the long arm of the law, the rudderless Bush won't make it to the end of his term. Indeed, it wouldn't surprise me if the in way over his head empty suit became the first president to commit suicide while in office.
Richard

Yes, his paranoia, teeth-grinding, and avoidances are very obvious. Suicide? We should be so lucky.

GravatarI am a witch and I have magical powers. I also have a friend from Mars. He's a little green man and we stay up late at night talking.

OK sweetheart, where did you show me to be wrong?

A-puss is getting delusional.

Gravataranonymouse, you constantly claim to know what people on this board think and do. And now you are whining about us being psychics. You really are a thin-skinned, defensive little twit, aren't you?

Gravatar" Does anyone here think that the government's weak response to Katrina might have been a convenient excuse to attempt to suspend the posse comitatus act?

GravatarNixon was a much savvier politician than Shrub/Karl.

Neither would Reagan.

Do you need someone to teach you how to point, click, and activate said link?

By the way, that's common knowledge.

GravatarMy goodness, what a rough playground it is at Ronald Reagan Elementary School.

Gravatardavid brooks on cspan 2, made an interesting comment during the q&a section. he was at the book festival. expounded on katrina and horror of seeing the same dead body floating in the water for 4 days. and that what with all the corporate scandals, the missing wmds, the war, something, something, and the inadequate federal response to the hurricane, it's all come to a head. analogized the feeling of mistrust people now have of the government to the rolling stones song: shattered. our world is in tatters.

GravatarTena, that's just a lot of colors. Like with the cops' safety yellow jackets and the outsized banners creating the illusion of size and motion. It's a fucking sham.

GravatarHi everyone--just a drive by.

I just got back from the protest--there was a pretty huge turnout and very few counter-protesters (less than 200--w/several bullhorns, of course--most were freaks like that guy with the flag codpiece).

It was very moving.

GravatarTheo, which event traumatized you more: the 2000 Election or the atrocities of 11 September 2001?

Well Toby while 9/11 was worse for me personaly it's clear the 2000 "election" did more damage to the nation as a whole.

Gravatarthick, I mean.

Oh, I don't know. I mean, it obviously showed a whole lot of people in this country from all walks of life weren't full-on gung-ho for the war as the government would like us to belive. In any event, protests in this form have rarely accomplished much beyond showing public displeasure for governmental actions. Look at the Civil Rights movement, for example. It took the Supreme Court and LBJ for the actual laws and interpretations of law to really change, but do you really think the government would do anything that's beneficial for the public at large if the public didn't express its displeasure?

Free speech, assembly and petitioning the government, the First Amendment in a nutshell.

I agree, he'll resign. Bush has a solid track record of breaking his new toys and casting them off to look for something new.

He did it with his TANG stint, with Arbusto, with Harken, with the Texas Rangers and even his governorship.

And look at his abysmal record in office - No Child Left Behind, the hunt for bin Laden, controlling the deficit, his Social Security Plan, the war in Afghanistan and now Iraq - his failures would be a joke if it didn't require someone to spend the next generation cleaning up his fuck ups.

In a world long since gone mad, one does what one can. Gravatar traffic cam picture:

Obviously a biased, liberal traffic cam.

GravatarEven the Democrats are having enough of the anti-America demonstrations:

"Watching clips of the Answer Anti-War Rally, all I see are things that I want nothing to do with. I am a staunch supporter of Israel, and its fundamental right to exist. I watch this rally and see people basically supporting the Hamas, etc., and the suicide killings of innocent Israelis in cafes, on buses, etc."

"If you want to break down the coalition of people against the war, turning this into a hate the Jews/Israel party is an easy way to do it."

Even they can recognize that the anti-War movement is very very anti-Israel

Gravatarrorschach - thanks for the picture.

GravatarThe number of Democrat politicians who have condemned ANSWER: 0

All opposition to the Iraq War is due to the efforts of the communist-front groups.

All opposition to the Iraq War is essentially treason

GravatarActually, I'm amused by them anymore. It's all so much spitting into the wind with them.

I don't much care, but it's kind of a drag when the back-and-forth with the trolls is the *only* conversation going on, especially since I am mostly inclined to abstain.

Gravatar[...] Sure, sneering's fun and satisfying, but does it truly accomplish anything positive?
The Mast Lurker - 4:45 pm

Well, sometimes it gives the sneerer an erection. Does that count?

GravatarI don't give a shit about Israel. There are friends of mine over in Iraq getting shot at and blown up for a lie. Simple as that.

.

GravatarHe may disengage completely, rather, more obviously, from the duties of president, but he will hold on, tooth and claw, to all the entitlements of office.

I think that pretty much nails it. Bush is *all about* the privileges of power, but wants nothing to do with its duties and responsibilities.

GravatarAlso, if America were invaded like in Red Dawn, the anti-war groups would be the ones collaborating with the enemy, like they are now

GravatarIs that what Scotty calls you when he squirts in your mouth?

No, it's what your wife says after we get done making fun of you.

GravatarActually, I'm amused by them anymore. It's all so much spitting into the wind with them.
Tena

Yeah, my dear, I know. I should leave it alone, but I spent a lot of time playing the dozens growing up and it is almost a hobby.

Lately, they've been rather one-sided, as you say.

GravatarAll opposition to the Iraq War is due to the efforts of the communist-front groups.

Does Chuck Hagel know about his Communist connections? If not, I consider it the troll's patriotic duty to inform US Senator Hagel about his Communist activities at once!

GravatarI agree, he'll resign. Bush has a solid track record of breaking his new toys and casting them off to look for something new.

I don't know if he'll resign - though I can see it happening. But I do think he'll run as fast as he can once he's out.

Eli - nope, it's the torture that I find unforgivable. I can forgive people for voting for Bush; the media has been so complicit with this criminal enterprise that it's hard to blame most voters.

There's never an excuse for torture. None none none.

GravatarGeorge Bush is mein Gott. Er ist mein, ach! He ist my prezdent. You are all traitors! You vill be eliminated. I am the arm von George Bushes ....

GravatarSo -- let me get this straight.

When someone on the Left protests war, they're told "the Sixties are over".

When someone on the right drags out the old red-baiting trope from the Fifties, it's considered perfectly valid.

GravatarBilly B,
Oh, don't get me wrong. I point no fingers nor do I lay any shame. Personally, I think those on the left side of the political spectrum have every right to be upset, even feverently so, at the state of the U.S. government, the capability of either party and just the simple frustration of being called the source of all evil in the universe by moral degenerates like Limbaugh, Savage, Coulter, DeLay, Frist and so on and so forth. And while I don't much care for the partisan mindset, I understand where it comes from and understand why folks like to have a team they can root for.

Nevertheless, I must say - and this is only one cowboy's opinion, mind you - a whole lot folks let themselves get far too discombobulated far too easy by folks who are either just trying to stir up shit or have absolutely no intention of listening to a single word anyone with even the slightest ideological difference might have to say.

But what the hell, ya know? It's just the internet; it's not for real. People need to vent in these trying times, and I like to think such venting cuts down on the Eric Rudolphs and Jim Kopps and Fred Phelpses of the world. Feverent opinions are one thing. Actions? Quite another.

Gravatarbut does it truly accomplish anything positive?

At the bare minimum, I get plenty of laughs. And that's a good thing.

Other than that - who knows? Maybe.

GravatarAll opposition to the Iraq War is due to the efforts of the communist-front groups.

It's not even a war for fuck's sake. The Congress couldn't even be bothered to vote on the legitimacy of that shit.

GravatarOh joy, I just can't wait until we finally get outta Iraq, after fuck-ups infinity.

Then we get to hear about how the left was the reason we lost. All the protesting musta built a gigantic army of osamas...

.

GravatarDoes Chuck Hagel know about his Communist connections? If not, I consider it the troll's patriotic duty to inform US Senator Hagel about his Communist activities at once!

Hagel has been demotivated due to the efforts of the anti-America left.

The fact is that the Iraq war is a tremendous success.

GravatarThank you, Tena. Agreed on the aversion to the word "good."

I just cannot understand how anyone would do these things to other people.

Well, I mean, I can, having been beaten to a pulp by New Orleans cops. But I don't like it.

GravatarNo, it's what your wife says after we get done making fun of you.

That about right PeeWee?

GravatarNothing hurts me worse than knowing Americans have done those things to other humans.

I bet losing your Internet connection would hurt you much worse than that.

GravatarI would abide by the majority vote of Eschatonians (trolls excluded) as to whether to carry on with making fun of trolls.

I can't feel guilty about it, though.

GravatarEli - nope, it's the torture that I find unforgivable. I can forgive people for voting for Bush; the media has been so complicit with this criminal enterprise that it's hard to blame most voters.

I think enough got through the filter that I have a hard time forgiving Bush voters. By November, everyone knew about Abu Ghraib, and I think most people knew there were no WMDs or ties to al Qaeda or 9/11.

I think the Bush voters just didn't care.

GravatarThe fact is that the Iraq war is a tremendous success.
Gary Ruppert

GravatarDepersonalization, fantasies, and coping behavior in clinical context.

Wolfradt U, Engelmann S.

Department of Psychology, Martin-Luther-Universitat, Halle, Germany.

The main purpose of the present study was to determine the relation between specific dissociative experiences (depersonalization, fantasies) and self-reported coping behavior in a clinical (depression, anxiety, schizophrenia) and nonclinical sample (normal adults). Dissociative experiences were assessed with the Questionnaire of Experiences of Dissociation (QED) of Riley (198 and coping behavior with the Stress-Process Questionnaire (SPQ; Janke, Erdmann, & Boucsein, 1985). A factor analysis of the QED items revealed a two-factor extraction: Factor 1 "depersonalization" and Factor 2 "fantasies/daydreams." The clinical group scored higher on the QED factor "depersonalization" and had more passive forms of coping behavior (resignation, social isolation, self-compassion, self-blame) than the normal adults. Similar correlation patterns were found for both groups: The QED factor "depersonalization" correlated highly with the coping behaviors "resignation," "social isolation," "self-blame," "self-compassion," and "rumination." No correlation between Factor 2 "fantasies/daydreams" and the coping behavior was found. Finally, correlations between depersonalization, trait anxiety, and personal need for structure were reported.

You have no idea how reassuring your saying this is.

GravatarNo, just a damn good guess.

Oh, I don't know. Seems to me you're assuming an awful lot about a person who is basically a complete and total stranger. And you really don't expect me to believe that you're doing it for any other reason than to be a pain in the ass.

Of course, the theory will never be tested, sadly.

Again, I think you're assuming too much, but frankly, I'm not really concerned with what someone else does with his/her free time. If Tena wants to spend it all on the internet, who are you or I to say she's out of bounds? And isn't it a little, well, precious to use a medium (quite a bit if my cursory glances reveal anything, which of course, they might not) to condemn someone else's use of said medium? Isn't that like having a tv show where you basically spend your time bitching about how bad television is.

What, in your opinion, should someone do rather than kill time on a blog's comments board? Or do you really care that much about someone you don't know and will probably never interact with and who's actions affect you in almost no way at all? Why?

GravatarYou have no idea how reassuring your saying this is.

Not really, but one connects through the medium where people congregate. It doesn't dilute any message that may be communicated.

What, in your opinion, should someone do rather than kill time on a blog's comments board?

I honestly don't care what people do, though I think it's pitiful to constantly harp about problems and indulge in impotent fantasies about revenge etc when you're really doing nothing to make that happen. It's not only not productive, it's unhealthy. And if people don't want to be exposed to critiques when they share their lavishly, then they're just childish.

Or do you really care that much about someone you don't know and will probably never interact with and who's actions affect you in almost no way at all? Why?

"They've never had it so good."

Yes, being ignored and left for dead, weather a category 4 hurricane with floodwaters coming up to drown them, losing all of their possessions, being robbed by looters, wading through toxic waters not knowing their fate, maybe escaping to the superdome or convention center where they were threatened with harm, then being starved and dehydrated, only to watch babies and disabled people die right in front of them, then being whisked away after many days wondering if they themselves would die...then ending up on a cot in the Astrodome.

By the time Corn got around to writing his deal, the damage was good and done, if what I've read from CIA folks is gold.

If it doesn't, then why bother? I'm serious, why stir up shit if you don't really care about the topic at hand. Sure, things do have the tendency to get rather territorial and insular - "childish" as you say - but that's the whole point, I'd think. As I said earlier, a place to come and vent. Do you go to Free Republic or LGF and do the same thing? If not, why not?

There's something to be said for venting, allowing people to blow off steam in a safe, familiar and, above all, friendly atmosphere. This is a country with a serious anger problem, and personally, I'd rather have folks shooting off in a comments board than in a crowded room.

Still, if you don't care and you say it doesn't matter, why even bother? What do you get out of it? You're not really adding to the discourse in any way - be fair - nor do you take the hard-line opposite in ideology. What's the point?

I remember seeing a real smart guy - great writer, perceptive, a strong sens of justice - go completely nuts when he started thinking there was some grand conspriracy to get him.

The details are vague, but I think he ended up flying to different places around the country to confront his "enemies" from the board, filing suit against some of them, taking on the provider of the message board, etc.

He ended up moving to a whole other town and trying to "disappear", having lost his job, wife, and his sanity.

GravatarIn a sane and sensible society, Bushboy would be removed from office and frog marched to prison.

In a sane and sensible society, Bush would have risen to the limits of his abilities, and thus would be getting fired for putting customers' eggs in the bottom of the bags, and for always going out behind the dumpsters to sneak some booze when it gets busy.

GravatarIs Sallyh here yet? its almost time for canape's and a G&T.

Anyone care to join me?

GravatarSo? How many belts of Jim Beam has Little Bootsy McCokespoon had today?

Gravatarerm, here's the link: linkee.

GravatarWay way lower than the Clenis™ , Shaw - after the Clenis™ was impeached.

His ratings were never as low as Bush - who has the worst numbers ever, as you pointed out.

Bush is having the worst second term in history - it's just a shame that so many people have to suffer for it.

GravatarAnon. I'm feeling better about it all the time.

Looks like you're already in too deep.

Best of luck. That guy I mentioned still hasn't recovered from his struggle with lunacy.

GravatarEli, I'm pretty sure it's spelled "sykiatrist."

GravatarFriday, September 23
Nashville - A white Republican lawmaker from Knoxville asked about joining the Legislature's Black Caucus, saying he wants to know how the group spends its money. Campfield, who said he has black constituents, said he was just curious about how the caucus operates and also asked its Chairman, Rep. Johnny Shaw, for the bylaws. Shaw, a Democrat, denied both requests.

GravatarLet me just say that Blitzer is SUCH a Bushwhore & that Kay Bailey Hutchinson needs to be ground up and transported to a trout farm.

GravatarEPT? Are you from the Volunteer State?

GravatarWho left the door open this time?

I wish all of you could have been in D.C. today, if for no other reason that to realize what massive numbers of our fellow Americans are against this war -- against it enough to travel to Washington, D.C. and spend Saturday marching. What we see on the tv and read in the newspapers is not really America. America was in the streets today and America wants this war over now.

GravatarIf I answer Anonymous again, please, some sane person tell me that he has a point.

GravatarI'm confused. On one hand you tell me I shouldn't be concerned why people are here, then on the other hand you're very concerned with *my* motivations for being here.

Well, don't be confused. I'm just curious as to why you care or don't care. Do I care about you, whoever you are? Well, no, not really, beyond a general good will for the grand scope of humanity. You say you don't care, then you got on and on about how one poster needs "help" for his/her presummed psychosis, but you also claim it "really doesn't matter". You don't seem to be making any real stands on any issue - like Mr. Ruppert, for example - just stirring up the shit for the stirable.

I'm just curious about the mindset of folks who go into chatrooms, message boards, etc. just to fuck shit up and be pains in the asses. I never said I didn't care; I just wonder if you do. About anything.

Gravatar Let me just say that Blitzer is SUCH a Bushwhore & that Kay Bailey Hutchinson needs to be ground up and transported to a trout farm.
bo

What did a trout ever do to you?!!

Gravatar Eli, I'm pretty sure it's spelled "sykiatrist."

I believe that is the officially accepted Kentucky variation.

GravatarWhy would Dobbs come in on a Saturday just for this?

His investments aren't going so well. He needs the overtime.
.

GravatarSo, you do care.

Of course I do.

It's one thing to play around for whatever reason. It's wholly another to see someone going off the deep end and not at least trying to throw them a rope.

The problem with paranoid delusions is that help is usually seen as part of the "conspiracy", so it usually just ends up strengthening their resolve rather than diminishing it.

No real way to deal with it past a certain point.

Some people can't deal with the lack of certainty and anonymity that exists on message boards. They need to KNOW.

Drives a lot of people to the funny farm.

GravatarBest of luck. That guy I mentioned still hasn't recovered from his struggle with lunacy. - Anonymous
He said, looking deep into the mirror.

Pathetic.

Go study for your driver's license, sonny.

GravatarKay Bailey Hutchinson needs to be ground up and transported to a trout farm.

School chum?

Gravatar13 Overlooked everything else that was happening around us, and didn't even notice that the 12 previous reasonings led us to delusion.

GravatarI'm a native of Maine.

(boom, boom)

The expected joke from Anonymous in this space.

GravatarKay Bailey Hutchinson needs to be ground up and transported to a trout farm

What did the trout do to deserve that?

Gravatar400th?

GravatarBushboy's EPA trying to make it easier for chemical companies to NOT report the release of toxins into the environment.

Bushboy's EPA wants to extend their self-reporting of released toxins to 2 years instead of 1.

Why give first responders and citizens current information about toxins that could kill them?

And I thought that Bushboy was "pro-life". Corporate profits obviously trump human life! Does that also apply to fetuses???

GravatarSay, have we heard from Incog today? The weather maps show Rita dropping rain like crazy around Shreveport. That's where he is, right?

GravatarWhat did a trout ever do to you?!!
ZuZu's Petals

Oops! Sorry about the brainwave theft, ZuZu. Purely inadvertent.

GravatarCan we now call them SCLB; so called liberal bloggers in name only.
Seems some bloggers will only support activity they headline and fuck everthing else.
Referring to the lack of blog interest in todays anti war rally.
Can we now place some bloggers as no better than the washing whore post.
Maybe the bucks just arent there for their support. Fuck em...

Great minds, SteveNs, great minds!!

GravatarEli, I'm pretty sure it's spelled "sykiatrist."

I vote for going back to "alienist".

It's easier to spell and it sounds cool.

GravatarTrout are carnivorous and will eat any thing, including the macerated guts of their freshly caught, recent compatriots. I think it's poetic justice, though, if she were to make it into the pate` for a Republican fundraiser, that would be even better.

GravatarI just wonder if you do. About anything.

Of course I do.

Explaining what someone is doing sometimes ruins what they're doing, right? It's like how explaining a joke stops the laughter and knowing how a magic trick is done makes the "magic" go away.

Would you rather I come here and just agree with everything and get along and shake my tiny fists at the world? Not sure how much point there is to that, either, so who's to say whether what I'm doing matters or not?

As I said, at least I get a lot of laughs out of it and plenty of people get their "troll" to feel superior to. Win/win.

GravatarI've got to go.

Those jokes, and they are some of the meanest I've ever written, are waiting to be unleashed to a campus town in Southern Maine at the least provocation.

I hope you have a relatively troll free evening, Friends. Gary, get help.

GravatarI've been reading at Eschaton for about two years now. I've often wondered why trolls even comment here. Mostly, I just ignore them. A couple of times I have responded to one of their comments. Do they think they will change our minds? What is their purpose?

GravatarGreat minds, SteveNs, great minds!!

Whoa! I was going to say that, too!

Gravatar Pathetic.

Not sure what you think is pathetic, but I was telling the truth.

Again, whether you believe it or not is immaterial. It doesn't make it untrue.

GravatarA couple of times I have responded to one of their comments. Do they think they will change our minds? What is their purpose?

I think the primary goal is more to demoralize and disrupt than to actually persuade.

Gravatarcollege republicans

GravatarTrout are carnivorous and will eat any thing, including the macerated guts of their freshly caught, recent compatriots.

Just like Republicans!

Gravatar"Got to keep the loonies on the path..."

GravatarIt's one thing to play around for whatever reason. It's wholly another to see someone going off the deep end and not at least trying to throw them a rope.

Now, that is a noble goal indeed, but can you blame someone for being skeptical of your intentions? I mean, I've just made a cursory glance of the various threads in the past little bit, and frankly, you seem to doing more of the "stirring up shit for the sake of stirring up shit" thing than any genuine concern. In regards to EPT's tome you alluded to, if you were really concerned with his/her sanity, why bring it up by basically saying "Dude, you're insane, you know that!" There are better ways of approaching the subject, in other words, if one is truly concerned with another's mental well-being.

Since I haven't read EPT's deal, I don't know if it's a sign of mental whackiness or not. Again, I am forced to assume that you're assuming way too much with way too little information. I mean, neither of us knows the details of his/her life, so it's a bit presumptuous, don't you think, to make such a sweeping declaration - and you gotta admit, "utterly insane" isn't exactly a benign-sounding diagnosis.

And why should EPT pay any attention to what you say about his/her mental stability? What credentials do you have in any area that it might pertain to? All I see from you on this matter is "Because I said so", so I just have to wonder, you know.

Of course, I could be entirely off-base, but I'm willing to run that risk.

GravatarA couple of times I have responded to one of their comments. Do they think they will change our minds? What is their purpose?

Who among us doesn't like pwning a group of libruls from time to time?

Or something like that, I dunno.

GravatarWhat is their purpose?

What's your purpose? What are you accomplishing?

GravatarHecate:

My thanks to you and the hundreds of thousands of other Americans who were able to make it to Washington today to show the nation that the Iraq war is draining America of lives and money that is needed here at home and that Bushboy & the Goopers are irresponsible and incompetent and should be removed from power.

GravatarIf you do not learn to master your rage...

Gravatar"Say, have we heard from Incog today?"

He was commenting on a thread early this morning. Saying, "Rain, rain." I think he mentioned he had a generator if the electricity went out. Hoping he is okay.

GravatarWhat's your purpose? What are you accomplishing?

What is your favorite color? What is the average airspeed of an unladen swallow?

GravatarHecate - Thank you so much - for going and marching and coming back here and telling us.

I so wanted to be there.

Gravatarhow was kerry's speech today?

GravatarPurpose? Ask Xenu

.

GravatarHecate,
Seconding Rudy & Tena.

GravatarHecate, William Rivers Smith says around 300,000+. That's fucking amazing. Even CNN says it's the biggest anti-war march since the war began.

GravatarWould you rather I come here and just agree with everything and get along and shake my tiny fists at the world? Not sure how much point there is to that, either, so who's to say whether what I'm doing matters or not?

Oh, I have no real desire to have any sort of control of what you do, I'm just curious as to the why. Do you think insulting people and being contradictory for contradiction's sake is in any way productive?

I am genuinely curious as to the goals of your little endevour - I'm an admirer of James Randi, so I always want to know how the "magic trick" works - and, frankly, if you actually do stand for something, anything, I for one would much prefer hearing that and damn them that don't like it. You don't have to do anything you don't want to, of course - especially in this particular medium - and if any of us had something better to do, we'd be doing it.

If you do stand for something, anything, do you really think just pissing off random people is the best way to go about accomplishing those goals? Is it some sort of philosophical thing, fucking with people for no good reason, like the Discordians or Libertarians?

GravatarAgain, I am forced to assume that you're assuming way too much with way too little information.

That's possible, I guess, though when I read that piece, it just reminded me of that poor sap from another board I used to go to.

There may be some truth in it, but these things can sort of snowball and turn into this really big conspiracy in someone's mind. Then they let it rule their lives. As I said, this guy I'm talking about took it to meatspace, which in my view is so reckless to defy explanation.

Maybe it's just because I have things to live for and things to lose that going to confront other nuts in meatspace, not knowing a damn thing about them in real life, seems like a very dumb thing to do.

From the looks of it, he's an old guy prowling around a college campus, convinced some fraternity is "ratfucking" this board or something more.

Could be true, I suppose, but even if it were, would it make sense to confront people who were doing that?

Most likely, it's just one illusions layered on another.

GravatarOh, and add my thanks, Hecate for being there and giving us first hand accounts.

GravatarKay Bailey Hutchinson needs to be ground up and transported to a trout farm.

Can we feed her to the catfish, instead, please? I can't stand the thought of catching a big old Brown trout that's been dining on Kay Bailey Hutchison.

Oh ick.

Gravatar"I so wanted to be there."

Why weren't you? You obviously have abundant free time.

Living in a very republican area of the country, I have connected with people who think like I do. Information I have found at this site has given me the ability to respond and contribute to the causes I believe in. Plus, I like the people here. They are intelligent and have a sense of humor, which I find valuable in these troubled times.

GravatarHecate, William Rivers Smith says around 300,000+. That's fucking amazing. Even CNN says it's the biggest anti-war march since the war began. - ZuZu's Petals
Any idiot troll want to say this is not Vietnam all over again?

Same size crowd as the DC demo in Nov. '69. I was there for that one.

GravatarIsn't the idiot Cornyn the other Senator from Texas?

Jesus! Texas has Hutchison and DeeeLay misrepresenting them and now Cornyn!!!

Texas should rename itself Bananarepublic, USA.

GravatarI'm no republican,

Now why do you think that he would feel it necessary to deny that particularly glaring truth? Could it be that he's in trouble for blowing the cover off of more than a local operation? Haven't found the public document to prove the link to an official Republican group yet but have every confidence that it is there.

Everything I have revealed about Little g. and his band of socially maladapted ratfuckers has been based on publicly available documents. All can be found online, including that police blotter item mentioned above. Using a computer that can't be linked to me I've found his own shit pile has been useful for gleaning coprolites of information about the little shit himself. Stupid, people are so careless about this kind of thing.

That is everything I've revealed about the little bedwetter SO FAR has been based on publicy available information. I've got some information not based on public documents that I am holding in reserve for the right venue.

I did see the ratfuckers' nest in person again but as it is rather difficult for someone with grey hair to mix in with college students I will have to figure out another way of observing them more closely. I know of several opportunities for this, but I will not involve students. From the stories I've heard these ratfucking thugs are not above violence and intimidation, though cowards themselves when not in a pack. I must confess that it is rather disappointing to see that this generation of greek boys is just as pointlessly puerile as those I was unfortunate enough to know closing in on forty years back. Pimp, I ask you.

If the national organization likes a partisan ratfucker operation in an official location and what tax implications that holds..... we may see.

Here's a clue Little g. when you try to play ball with the big boys, make sure you've got at least one.

That goes for you too, Ted. When I have located the line I will expose it.

Now I have imposed on the Eschaton community enough. My excuse is that I was asked to share what I found and I am more than willing to share with my friends.

Remember, ratfuckers, it's all available in public documents. Stew in that.
EPT | 09.24.05 - 3:42 am | #

I reread just to be sure. It was written for one person, actually. I'm sure that Little geoffy understood it perfectly. Compared to his stuff it looks like Morris Cohen, if not Suzanne Langer.

Now, I've got to go.

Gravatardieselcreek--

Your comment on these troll things was spot on.

GravatarEPT | 09.24.05 - 5:58 pm | #

Yeah, that's the rant from this morning. Thanks for reposting it.

GravatarTo watch CNN, you'd think that the only thing going on in America today was the hurricane Rita.

It's Rita non-stop, while a massive anti-war demonstration in Washington against Bushboy's mess in Iraq has not been mentioned.

But then it's only 57 minutes into the broadcast. Maybe they'll show American citizens disagreeing with their anti-government government in the next hour.

But I won't hold my breath.

GravatarSame size crowd as the DC demo in Nov. '69. I was there for that one.

Me, too, bo! One thing that made me cry today was seeing the signs that said "War is not healthy for children and other living things." I carried that sign in the Viet Nam protests. If I'd known it would still be necessary 35 years later....

Gravatar• I was being a little too clever with my Whack-a-Mole comment, and now The Mast Lurker is compromising my principled disdain for troll intercourse. It's like watching "Nature" footage of a spider patiently spinning an elegant web around a plodding stinkbug.

• Meanwhile, chicago dyke, your comment fit in with some discussion earlier.

A lot of people were bothered by the televised pre-march presentation. Too many speakers espousing too many causes, not presenting a focused, concise message, etc. There was some frustration and impatience expressed at the Left coming off like a pathetic caricature of itself, as usual, and not achieving a style and message that would appeal to, or constructively engage and persuade, the congregation not already in the choir.

I posted this twice. I'd appreciate your input.

Your post, and Hecate's, reinforced my sense that one can't rate or value these events as essentially an infomercial. It will be interesting to see if the bobbleheads downplay or otherwise deride the event tomorrow.

One of the nagging problems I have with the stance that the primary purpose of the event is to expand the support base, necessary and desirable as that is, is that I keep sensing incipient self-hatred.

The "Left", like the Democrats, has and should have a gnarly aura and tradition. Like the Statue of Liberty, it beckons the poor, tired, huddled masses, etc. It does not always insist on being polite and well-groomed. Any Pharisee can make a good appearance, and capture the regard of the foolish and superficial.

I'm not sure all of the raucous and edgy and odd-looking people can be airbrushed or hidden sufficiently to allow the Normals to warm up to us.

But then, I felt all warm and runny inside when Joan Baez visited Cindy Sheehan in Crawford last month. Fuck carping that such actions undermine the perception of the peace movement on Main Street in Tinyburg, USA.

Fuck the Ghost of Al Capp, I say.

GravatarMaybe they'll show American citizens disagreeing with their anti-government government in the next hour.

But I won't hold my breath.

Of, of course they won't.

Can't criticize DUMBya & Co. Not permitted!

GravatarNashville - A white Republican lawmaker from Knoxville asked about joining the Legislature's Black Caucus, saying he wants to know how the group spends its money.

Maybe he needs to ask his own party that question.

GravatarHow about that Cardinal Rigali? What a guy!

Over 400 pages in the grand jury report describing the systematic sexual abuse of little boys and girls, and the systemic Church cover-up by cardinals and their minions, and he complains that they were too tough on Cardinal Bevalacqua! Such a pathetic and pitiful rsponse! I am sooooooo embarrassed and outraged.

Bevalacqua should be in jail!

If Christ were in His grave he would roll over. If He were around today, surely He would first console the victims (and families) of these horrific crimes, ensure that their physical, psychological and spiritual needs were tended to, fire every last sitting cardinal and weed out all the remaining perpetrators. Additionally, He would probably give the Church back to the laity to which it really belongs.
