It is very odd that pictures of dead people and porn would be on the same website, though. Some sort of a border crossing of weirdness? Or something more sinister?

Echidne - it's sinister enough - the guy was trading pictures of violence porn for pictures of nekkid womens. To see the nekkid women, soldiers had to post pictures themselves. They posted pictures of violently dead Iraqis.

Well, natural selection wouldn't have it any other way.
Likewise, gay sex is icky because it isn't "productive" in the evolutionary sense.
As for abortion, however miserable the lives of unwanted children, at least they have a shot of fulfilling the Darwinian imperative to reproduce themselves, unlike aborted fetuses.
Ironically enough, it seems that the folks who define themselves as mystically superior to all other species are actually more like gland-driven animals in human form.
Hence, their discomfort at even conventional sex and certain other "dirty" body functions. It reminds them of what we really are.
In 21st Century America:
Human body = evil
Sex = taboo
Biological functions=immoral
Mass murder, mayhem and torture= OK
Sort of like the "decency" standards for TV and movies. You can show a person being graphically tortured, having his head blown off, even watch someone machine gun hundreds of people to death (think almost any Schwarzenegger movie). That's appropriate for just about anyone to watch. But two people having consensual sex, well that's just plain immoral. Lets make that XXX-rated, label it perversion.
America seems to have a strange obsession/fear of sex, perhaps due to our puritanical roots? In any event, I would imagine it is psychologically healthier for teenagers to watch a movie with a graphic sex scene rather than a movie with gratuitous violence. Is there a doctor in the room?
