Before any indictments come down, the president could proactively tell the public what he knows about the Plame case and if need be rid himself of staffers whose conduct, criminal or not, is beneath his moral standards.
See, that's the problem. There ain't nothin' that's beneath his moral standards.

Howard Dean is going to be the exclusive interview on This Week. People on this blog always complain about the lack of access that Dems suffer from. What do people on this thread think should be the main themes that Dean should use to MAKE news next week? Should he go after the media? Should he talk about how shitty repubs are? Or should he talk about what dems will do once in power?

I noticed Isikoff on MSNBC early this morning ( !? ) saying that besides Rover and Libby, "others" probably will be indicted. I've also noticed that whenever Tweety or Wolf etc have more than one reporter on together, whenever a pointed question is asked about targets, indictments, that the reporters hesitate a beat or two, sometimes sorta glancing at each other before responding vaguely. Also, increasing use of a strange phrase - "publicly known". Interesting epistemology there.

Well, not so much. Let us remember that the Shrubbery is in no way anything like 'old-line' or 'aristocratic' or even 'upper' class. Babbsy's people were middle management from upstate New York and a mother who couldn't get an invitation to join Junior League. The Shrubs themselves were exceedingly minor robber barons, largely functionaries. Their pretense at superior background is twaddle.

For anyone who didn't see this last night -- now it's official, or will be come Oct. 24:
"Paul Hackett is running for U.S. Senate," said spokesman David Woodruff, who served as Hackett's campaign manager in his special election campaign for the 2nd District House seat against Rep. Jean Schmidt. "He is planning to announce his decision officially on Oct. 24," Woodruff said Monday, adding an event would be held that day in Cincinnati, from which Hackett would begin a statewide bus tour.
Hackett was flying back Monday evening from Washington after meeting with Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid of Nevada, Woodruff said. Reid's spokeswoman, Tessa Hefen, would not confirm the meeting too place, but Woodruff later said Reid gave Hackett the confidence to run.
"He found overwhelming support from the leaders of the Democratic Party, campaign organizations and staff," Woodruff said.

Old news. Now the dmes, in typical fashion are split b/c Sherrod was such a pussy that he had to wait for the seat to pretty much be guaranteed b4 he decided to get in, though Hackett will definately get more votes in Ohio then Brown. What if they rip each other to shreds and DeWine somehow wins and as a result there ends up being a 50/50 tie in the Senate. Dems are FAMOUS for ripping defeat out of the jaws of victory.

I think he made the claim orally, as it is unusual for the judge to respond to an evidentiary assertion in a motion.

Delay does not have to pay attention to liberal "facts. They are biased, as is this whole one-sided, flimsy pursuit of Delay. You will regret it, liberals.
Facts are simple and facts are straight
Facts are lazy and facts are late
Facts all come with points of view
Facts don't do what I want them to
Facts just twist the truth around
Facts are living turned inside out
Facts are getting the best of them
Facts are nothing on the face of things
Facts don't stain the furniture
Facts go out and slam the door
Facts are written all over your face
Facts continue to change their shape

Yeah, he was; and the tours that made up the "Yessongs" album proved it. I was listening to Yes last night (circa Fragile) and was struck at what a phenomena; axe man Howe is. And I didn't used to think so.
He's certainly the most eclectic guitarist in rock. And he did some great stuff, especially on The Yes Album and Fragile.
Tales From Topographic Oceans, not so much. Maybe the worst tone I've heard in my life.
But I'll always give props to Howe for The Clap. Still one of the most fun tours de force on acoustic.
I was a bass player when I was into Yes, so Chris Squire just amazed me. And Bill Bruford, tremendously underrated drummer. Had a real knack for snare placement, instead of usual Charlie Watts "boom-tap, boom-tap" shit. Really hit his stride in King Crimson.
Final vague Yes memory: the old Yessongs concert video (still have it on VHS somewhere out in the garage), with Rick Wakeman blazing between two keyboard setups, one of them completely covered with empty beer bottles. Wakeman, along with Keith Emerson and Jon Lord, actually made keys seem cool for several years there.

Eh, I think these guys' "wolf" cards are pretty well used up now. And if they actually could produce OBL, Musharraf would instantly be assassinated, and that whole region would be even more fucked up than it is. There's a reason they haven't looked to hard for Osama.
The NYC hoax divered the media for less than half a day. It's all Dear Leader can do now to have his little Potemkin town halls and improvised chats with random troops (heh indeedy). He can barely shore up his own base these days.
The media smell blood, and as long as Fitz comes through with something, anything, they're on the Mayberry Mafia now. It just comes down to whether the Democrats want to start getting proactive for next year, or just continue to stand there with their thumbs in their asses.
