Samrtest thing the Abramoff machine did was to make some token contributions to Democrats. A little selective naming and it's not a GOP machine, it's bi-partisan crookery!
These are idiots-savant. Totally useless in every other field, brilliant in corrupt political manipulation.
She should buy Matthews a grand worth of tickets so he doesn't have to take the Abramoff freebies... what with them able to raise campaign funds at games it means Matthews can afford to return the favor more than he already does.

Did MM send Tweety a trophy, or a plaque, or something to commemorate his "Misinformer of the Year" win? If not, perhaps they should. Or maybe it would have a greater impact to send him a mini-trophy every time he misinforms in 2006, with a note along the lines of, "Keep up the good work, asswipe."

I liked this: Matthews never informed his viewers that Bush had received money from Abramoff or his clients. It was left to O'Donnell, who remarked that "when it comes to personal contributions by Abramoff and his wife, he only made personal contributions to Republicans. Those Republicans have got to return those personal contributions, just like President Bush returned those contributions." At no point were viewers made aware that Bush has decided to keep more than $100,000 in contributions that Abramoff raised for the campaign during the 2004 election.

"The analysis, by the Congressional Research Service, a nonpartisan research arm of Congress, was the first official assessment of a question that has gripped Washington for three weeks: Did Mr. Bush act within the law when he ordered the National Security Agency, the country's most secretive spy agency, to eavesdrop on some Americans?
The report, requested by several members of Congress, reached no bottom-line conclusions on the legality of the program, in part because it said so many details remained classified. But it raised numerous doubts about the power to bypass Congress in ordering such operations, saying the legal rationale "does not seem to be as well grounded" as the administration's lawyers have argued."
Has Powerline already explained that the Congressional Research Service is an arm of the Democratic Party, and was created by Clinton, stuffed with rabid Clinton loyalists, and has been plotting to tear down W ever since 2001?
If not, what's the over/under on how many hours before they do?

Chris Matthews as Dr. Evil
I'm not sure that that Chris Matthews could qualify as "Dr. Evil" -- because that would required a certain Machiavellian genius, which the Tweetster is clearly lacking, to say the least.
How about Dr. Stupid? Now, that is a perfect fit!
In fact, the Tweetster feels the need to be a perfect shill for NBC, MSNBC, General Electric, and the military industrial complex, and if that means groveling at the cloven hooves of Bush, then so be it.
Moreover, the Tweetster claims to feel "real sensitive" with Bush at those get-togethers at which the chosen court stenographers are invited into the White House during the holidays to enjoy an invitation-only fête with Bush royalty-- that is, if they've been nice instead of naughty, in which case they are severely punished and banned for life.
The poor-hapless Tweetster doesn't even write his own material -- he is just given copy to read between commercial breaks, and he does his best not to fuck up his lines or go too far off the reservation, so to speak.
Remember, the Tweetster just bought that big new house on Nantucket, and he knows only too well upon which side his bread is buttered and in which cosy (and expensive) nooks-and-crannies his nest is feathered.
Certainly, by being "tough" on the Democrats and very gentle, kid-gloved, and even tender, with Republicans will help the Tweetster to pay the mortage and taxes on his idyllic "summer place" by the shore.
Unlike most Americans these days, the Tweetster still longs to have a beer with Bush -- it's pathetic! The poor-silly bastard is actually that far behind the learning curve!
But, then, so is the Tweetster's favorite right-wing protégé-in-residence, Norah O'Donnell!
What is it? Do the Tweetster and Norah O'Donnell share some mystical bond deep within their Roman Catholic souls? Is it the abortion issue? Just wondering, because she longs to have a beer with Bush, too. Perhaps a threesome?
Multimillionaire right-wing hucksters like Tweety Matthews (aka 'LOUDBALL')don't think twice about throwing around $1,000, but to impress the little people out in the flyover states, I guess this is big stuff.
