Be honest. What are you people? One percent? I'm really amazed that a community of people like you can exist: such an extreme minority view, with NO dissention! How does that happen? What weird bubble-universe do you people inhabit?
Now I'm really serious when I ask dissenting voices to speak up. I want to find out if there really is this weird dissentionless extremity. It just seems beyond possibility. Is this the land of the 20 watt lightbulbs? What IS this? Tbogger! What have you done???

Soft Cell
Tainted Love Lyrics
Sometimes I feel I've got to
Run away I've got to
Get away
From the pain that you drive into the heart of me
The love we share
Seems to go nowhere
And I've lost my light
For I toss and turn I can't sleep at night
(chorus)
Once I ran to you (I ran)
Now I'll run from you
This tainted love you've given
I give you all a boy could give you
Take my tears and that's not nearly all
Oh...tainted love
Tainted love
Now I know I've got to
Run away I've got to
Get away
You don't really want IT any more from me
To make things right
You need someone to hold you tight
And you'LL think love is to pray
But I'm sorry I don't pray that way
(chorus...)
Don't touch me please
I cannot stand the way you tease
I love you though you hurt me so
Now I'm going to pack my things and go
Tainted love, tainted love (x2)
Touch me baby, tainted love (x2)
Tainted love (x3)

British lawyers linked to $1m payment for favours at US Congress
By Philip Sherwell in Washington and David Harrison in London
(Filed: 08/01/2006)
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/...MC-
new_08012006
A British law firm is at the centre of the investigation into America's biggest influence-buying scandal in decades.
The London-based solicitors, James & Sarch, channelled $1 million (£565,000) into a conservative United States pressure group linked to Jack Abramoff, the disgraced lobbyist.
The firm, which was dissolved in 2000, made the payment by a single cheque in June 1998 to the US Family Network, a now-defunct organisation that had close ties to the embattled Republican Congressman, Tom DeLay, and was largely funded by groups associated with Abramoff.
The revelations that the $1 million is thought to have originated from Russian oil and gas executives seeking to shape US legislation have fuelled pressure for a shake-up in the Republican leadership in Congress.

Yeah, well the first ones that find the cell numbers of some of Henry Hyde's staff and buys the call records will be the one prompting urgent action on proper handling of consumer data by phone companies.

I've been in some rally REALLY rank houses, and I've been insiode million dollar homes. Most homes smell really great. Some of them have no smell and very few of them smell bad.
I had calculated a few years ago, that I have been in over ten thousand homes in my twentey one year career.

Okay, this is a great first step. It seems that Jennifer might think that a Mecca orientation would be significant, if I could convince her that, no, not everything is oriented towards Mecca.
Can't just ONE of you go to my posts and verify that the Mecca orientation of the crescent is REAL, so that those few of you who think that MIGHT matter can have reason to investigate further.

Alec Rawls is great. We must say that we enjoy history official and not, real conspiracy theory, disinformation ("crap") conspiracy theory, insane conspiracy theory, the occult, propaganda, and all creative nonfiction. This idea of Rawls' is the first we have heard of alignment with Mecca; the concept he mangled is that a structure or a rectangular (decidedly not crescent-shaped) niche point toward Mecca's general direction (with wild inaccuracy). Even this would mean nothing. We both thought that the 93 memorial was clearly a (spiral because of its uneven ends), or a dais being a big raised disk, not a crescent. The crescent is only tenable in the totally distorted colored-in version produced by freepers.

"My car, however, does smell of dog. "
The wife rescued two wet and bouncy dogs (they belonged together) and transported them to a nearby vet office. Turned out the vet knew them and called their owners. It all turned out well.
Except that it has taken two years for the doggie scent to clear out of the Van. One trip is all it took.

He yelps the whole way. I can hardly blame him since awful things always happen to him there.
Jon Stewart had a great bit about this in his pre-TDS days. His cat was enjoying being out of the house for the first time, right up until the rectal thermometer.
After that, the cat thought that was what "Outside" was all about, and every time Jon went out, the cat would give him this weird look like, "You *like* that???"

way back when, I had two cats that lived with my german sheperd, and thought they were dogs too ( they would fetch). I would walk the dog around the block and the cats would walk alongside him. It wasn't long before I started seeing the neighbors trying to walk their cats with long strings tied to them.

That's a shocking thing, tipping off the enemy. How dare anyone do that on their own analysis that it's really on balance for the good? How dare they, during a war?

Terry C, sweetie-- and I do not call you "sweetie" lightly-- even as a doubting Trollshunner I enjoy watching you regularly engage trolls.
It is like watching a really good skeet-shooter at work.
But I urge you consider filtering out any abominable and reprehensible personal insults and jeers flung by these buzzards.
You shouldn't even have to acknowledge, must less respond to, such scurrilous personal attacks.
(Actually, that part of your exchange is more like watching someone burn out a tick infestation with a lit cigarette. Kind of like indoor skeet shooting, in a way.)
I hope it's clear that I'm not faulting or criticizing you in any way. I just think it's a shame that you need to expend energy against cheap shots from low-lives.

Ministers Say They Blessed
Seats Ahead of Alito Hearing
By JUNE KRONHOLZ
Staff Reporter of THE WALL STREET JOURNAL
January 5, 2006 7:20 p.m.
http://online.wsj.com/public/art....html?
mod=blogs
WASHINGTON -- Insisting that God "certainly needs to be involved" in the Supreme Court confirmation process, three Christian ministers today blessed the doors of the hearing room where Senate Judiciary Committee members will begin considering the nomination of Judge Samuel Alito on Monday.
Capitol Hill police barred them from entering the room to continue what they called a consecration service. But in a bit of one-upsmanship, the three announced that they had let themselves in a day earlier, touching holy oil to the seats where Judge Alito, the senators, witnesses, Senate staffers and the press will sit, and praying for each of the 13 committee members by name.
"We did adequately apply oil to all the seats," said the Rev. Rob Schenck, who identified himself as an evangelical Christian and as president of the National Clergy Council in Washington.

How about, hey dumbasses, stop starting fires around here before you destroy half a city.
I am the god of hell fire and I bring you:
Fire, I'll take you to burn.
Fire, I'll take you to learn.
I'll see you burn!
You fought hard and you saved and learned,
but all of it's going to burn.
And your mind, your tiny mind,
you know you've really been so blind.
Now 's your time burn your mind.
You're falling far too far behind.
Oh no, oh no, oh no, you gonna burn!
Fire, to destroy all you've done.
Fire, to end all you've become.
I'll feel you burn!
You've been living like a little girl,
in the middle of your little world.
And your mind, your tiny mind,
you know you've really been so blind.
Now 's your time burn your mind,
you're falling far too far behind.

GREAT FALLS, Mont. - A cow that escaped a slaughterhouse dodged vehicles, ran in front of a train, braved the icy Missouri River and took three tranquilizer darts before being recaptured six hours later. News of the heifer's adventures prompted a number of people to offer to buy the animal.

Your butt is wide, well mine is too
Just watch your mouth or I’ll sit on you
The word is out, better treat me right
’cause I’m the king of cellulite
Ham on, ham on, ham on whole wheat, all right
My zippers bust, my buckles break
I’m too much man for you to take
The pavement cracks when I fall down
I’ve got more chins than chinatown
Well, I’ve never used a phone booth
And I’ve never seen my toes
When I’m goin’ to the movies
I take up seven rows
Because I’m fat, I’m fat, come on
(fat, fat, really really fat)
You know I’m fat, I’m fat, you know it
(fat, fat, really really fat)
You know I’m fat, I’m fat, come on you know
(fat, fat, really really fat)
Don’tcha call me pudgy, portly or stout
Just now tell me once again who’s fat
When I walk out to get my mail
It measures on the richter scale
Down at the beach I’m a lucky man
I’m the only one who gets a tan
If I have one more pie a la mode
I’m gonna need my own zip code
When you’re only having seconds
I’m having twenty-thirds
When I go to get my shoes shined
I gotta take their word
Because I’m fat, I’m fat, sha mone
(fat, fat, really really fat)
You know I’m fat, I’m fat, you know it
(fat, fat, really really fat)
You know I’m fat, I’m fat, you know it you know
(fat, fat, really really fat)
And my shadow weighs forty-two pounds
Lemme tell you once again who’s fat
If you see me comin’ your way
Better give me plenty space
If I tell you that I’m hungry
Then won’t you feed my face
Because I’m fat, I’m fat, come on
(fat, fat, really really fat)
You know I’m fat, I’m fat, you know it
(fat, fat, really really fat)
You know I’m fat, I’m fat, you know it, you know
(fat, fat, really really fat)
Woo woo woo, when I sit around the house
I really sit around the house
You know I’m fat, I’m fat, come on
(fat, fat, really really fat)
You know I’m fat, I’m fat, you know it, you know it
(fat, fat, really really fat)
You know, you know, you know, come on
(fat, fat, really really fat)
And you know all by myself I’m a crowd
Lemme tell you once again
You know I’m huge, I’m fat, you know it
(fat, fat, really really fat)
You know I’m fat, you know, hoo
(fat, fat, really really fat)
You know I’m fat, I’m fat, you know it, you know
(fat, fat, really really fat)
And the whole world knows I’m fat and I’m proud
Just tell me once again who’s fat

Some big fires at Fischer and in Blanco too. We are on a bluff overlooking Cypress Creek. Our drunken revels over the holidays revealed that yes, treated deck timbers will burn given the right conditions. Not a bad burn, but enough to inform. We need to remove the brush back from the cliff face soon.

I guess I am just an optimist in the heart of my cynicism. I really cannot abide the thought of three more years of absolute Republican control of my country. If we do not win the house or senate in the next election: America will cease to be - at least as I would recognize a state.
This is from Kos, "This actually sounds about right. While a huge wave could bring us control of at least one chamber in 2006, the odds are against it. Chances are we'll gain roughly as many seats as Cook says in the House and Senate, positioning us nicely for a 2008 takeover."

One thing that just dawned on me is a lot of the property around San Antonio used to be farm or ranch land. They would do burn back to clear brush or use other methods. Over the last decade a lot of that property has switched from agri to waiting for housing and commerical development. Just sitting. I seriously doubt in those areas the ownership has been clearing the brush unless beginning the development process proper. Meaning, a lot of brush.

We've been having constant forest fires (though not in the same places) every summer since 2000. Some of the forests have so much dead fall that you really cannot walk in them off the trails unless you like to climb over the dead logs. (4 to 5 feet high in some places.)
These forests if they catch fire will be impossible to put out.

Not an improvement; this is like the squad leader who slaps his subordinate when he breaks a plate in that awful Charles Laughton occupation film, then expects that to succor the owner of the house he's invaded. It's instinct for these things to rip to shreds anything that lacks the brutal will, power and success they worship above all else. snip
Abramoff's plea agreement came as no surprise. Last November, reports began circulating in Washington that he was negotiating with government prosecutors. In fact, Abramoff's team of lawyers, led by Abbe Lowell, had been in discussions with federal investigators for more than a year, according to those with knowledge of the investigation. U.S. News was told that initially, Abramoff faced the prospect of being charged with crimes that could have carried a prison term of more than 100 years. His lawyers "fought very hard for over a year," says a source, to get him a better deal.
Now, the government is preparing to reap the benefits. Investigators "will follow this guy into Congress and into the executive branch, including Interior," this person says. "Obviously, they will drain him dry about what he knows."
etc.

What of "life" is this if he does indeed survive?
JERUSALEM - Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's chances of surviving his severe stroke are very high, but his ability to think and reason have been damaged, one of his surgeons said Saturday.
The 77-year-old Israeli leader remained in critical condition, though his vital signs were stable and a brain scan Saturday showed a slight reduction in swelling.
Doctors are to decide Sunday when to begin lifting Sharon's medically induced coma to examine the severity of the brain damage.
"Tomorrow is the day of truth," Dr. Jose Cohen, one of Sharon's surgeons, told Channel 2 TV. "Tomorrow we will all know if what we did for him helped him or not."
Cohen said he was "quite optimistic" about Sharon's prospects for survival, which he said were "very high now."
But when asked about possible cognitive impairment, Cohen replied, "To say after such a severe trauma as this that there will be no cognitive problems is simply not to recognize the reality."

Doozer,
My problem with that statement is that it presupposes some things that I am not willing to concede.
Certainly if the election were held today, the damage to the Republicans might not be as severe as I would like. But it would still be serious.
At this point there are these scandals engulfing the party in power:
1. The Plame Affair - it ain't over.
2. Duke Cunningham's wire.
3. The Abramhoff Scandal
4. The continuing deaths of young people in Iraq: You do not know realize how devastating that last death was for my small town.
5. The bogus intelligence that was used to foist this war on the people.
6. The continued corruption of the DeLay Machine.
For this reason I am not willing to simply concede the next election and position myself for 08.
If I were to have written the comment on the Cook story I would have simply said, "This then is the problem, what are we going to do about it?"

Plame affair you say?
http://firedoglake.blogspot.com/
...668797025020378
from Vanity Fair:
Fitzgerald showed and instant aptitude for trial work; he was not one of those anal-retentive types who had to write everything out beforehand. And as disheveled as his files and personal life sometimes seemed, his brain was a marvel of organization. In 1993 he handled his first big case, of Mob bigwigs John and Joseph Gambino, associates of John Gotti's, charged with murder, racketeering, and narcotics trafficking. After a four-month trial -- during which Mob turncoat Salvatore "Sammy the Bull" Gravano testified -- a lone holdout hung the jury. So devastating was the outcome that Fitzgerald went into a deep funk and considered changing careers. (To avoid a re-trial, the two mobsters eventually pleaded guilty to lesser charges.)
By this point, Fitzgerald's mother had died and his father had Alzheimer's disease; still, when then attorney general Janet Reno gave Fitzgerald an award for his work on the Gambino case, he brought his father, then only intermittently lucid, with him to Washington and posed with him by the bust of one of the elder Fitzgerald's heroes, Robert Kennedy, in the Justice Department's courtyard. It was a moment that few there could forget. Invariably bringing his office work with him, Fitzgerald took terms with his siblings caring for his father at his home in Brooklyn until his death.
etc.

The last cat I was involved with who liked catnip was a calico named Hesslich. She was a slave to the herb. One day I put some in an old sock for her to enjoy...but unfortunately I had just waxed the wood floors. The nip paralyzed her back legs but she fought valiantly, placing front paw over paw to reach that sock of nip. She drooled and snoozed happily fo the rest of the afternoon.

Oh, joy! Heeeeeeee's baaaaack!
Everyone here is self-lobotomized. You will find SOME excuse not to be interested in the truth, some reason to dismiss what you take to be an opposing viewpoint rather than let yourself look into it.
This can't be a one time thing. This must be your typical cognitive style. You are a bunch of backwards thinkers. You start with your presumptions and you lobotimize any thought process that could threaten your presumptions. You regard your own intelligence is your own worst enemy, and you attack it ruthlessly. The last thing you would ever let your minds do is follow reason and evidence.
If there is anybody who wants out, it is easy to do. You just start following reason and evidence.
I'm off for the evening, but I'll check back sometime tomorrow. Add to the list of excuses. It's awesome. And if there is any dissent, do say so. 100% lobotimized is such a mark of shame.

Hamletta, I think the problem for the Republicans is this: there is almost a majority of people in this country who do not vote regularly and are not "politically attuned." There are definite rumblings of unhappiness among the non-voting segments of our population.
They would never be polled: they show up on no voters lists. Political thought is always centered on the "regular" voter. It is nearly impossible to guage the miscontent among the others.
One of my son's friends stopped by to pick up the rent for the two months little DWD will be in Australia. He said that he was amazed that the Homestead Bar in Muskegon was abuzz with political talk: and it was not friendly to the party in power. They may have pissed off enough people to cause them significant problems.
The activist then should be casting about for ways to harness this energy,

On the History Channel now - fascinating fellow
Tune In:
Sunday, January 8 @ 12am ET/PT
In 2001, Rick Rescorla was the 62-year-old head of security at the Morgan Stanley Bank situated high up in the South Tower at the World Trade Center. Rescorla was convinced that Osama Bin Laden would use jet planes to try and destroy the World Trade Center. Long before September 11th, he developed an evacuation plan for the bank, hugely unpopular amongst the city whiz kids who worked there who thought he was mad. His evacuation plan however ultimately saved 3,000 of their lives. Rescorla's plan was put into effect after the first jet hit the North Tower--even though WTC managers were instructing everyone to stay in the buildings. When the second jet hit the South Tower, he averted panic and organized a rapid evacuation. Rescorla went back inside to help those injured and trapped get out. He was still inside when the building collapsed. His body was never found. TVPG L cc

Doozer--laser pointers, the ultimate cat toy. I wear more of them out taunting the kitties than I do in class.
I keep hearing that, and I have a few laser levels around, so one day I tried it. For about 2 minutes they thought it was neat, then it might as well have not been there. A few days later, it was good for maybe 10 seconds. The Vet told me once I had a bunch of strange kitties...

I believe SCOTUS is going to hear it. I don't know what will happen if it's struck down.
Will they order new elections? I have no idea. Or will they revert back to the old map in this next election?
four legs good
I believe I read somewhere that the case will be heard in the next few months.
Whether it affects the 2006 elections or not depends on how egregious the violations are determined to be, I suppose. However, the only options are redrawing the map, or reverting to the old. Since the old one was drawn by the courts, I bet they revert to the old one.
But there hasn't been any real news since the originial announcement.

Amy Goodman: What made you decide to come forward? You worked for the top-secret agency of this government, one that is far larger and even more secret than the C.I.A.
Russell Tice: Well, the main reason is that I'm involved with some certain aspects of the intelligence community, which are very closely held, and I believe I have seen some things that are illegal. Ultimately it's Congress's responsibility to conduct oversight in these things. I don't see it happening. Another reason is there was a certain roadblock that was sort of lifted that allowed me to do this, and I can't explain, but I will to Congress if allowed to.

Well, you missed the rest of the interview, where Fineman explained that the WH's "notification" fell far short of actual Congressional oversight. When Rockefeller was notified, the information was highly classified, and as he explained in the letter, it precluded his even consulting with legal or tech experts, much less informing the public.
Jane Harman has been explaining to the assholes that they violated the law, that such limited notification is only allowed for covert overseas action.
In addition, Howard Dean solicited signatures from voters for an FOIA request on the matter, which were delivered last week.
I'm sure there's more, but to answer the original question, yes goddammit, the Dems have reacted strongly to the NSA spying business, and fuck anybody who whines they haven't done anything without even paying attention to, oh, this fucking blog.

they don't understand narrative but they want to know when they get to start acting. They haven't the faintest idea what plot structure is about or anything else and they vehemently do not want to learn.
I could literally spend my entire day writing disciplinary referrals. I have kids who come into class and drop their pants, I had one pull a knife just before Christmas, many spend the whole time applying their make-up unless I take it away from them. I am informed that my classes are much better behaved this year than they were last year however...cold comfort that.

After I mentioned him here a couple times, I read why he's ex-NSA; he tried to tell them a co-worker was a Chinese spy, and persisted to the point they demoted him to the motor pool, then, a couple years later, fired him. SHG have stickhorse will trave,
Can I make a suggestion? I have been doing this for twenty some "odd" years and have developed a plan that actually works.
I keep a record of class infractions for each student, each day. For every infraction of the rules, whatever it might be, they receive a check on the discipline sheet. When they reach three, they have worn out their welcome. The fourth one causes me to call their parents and explain what exactly the problem is. When I speak to the parents (as I do nearly daily) I always am calm and state the problems that they have been causing and why this is a problem. Often, this will work. If it does not, take the kid to the administration with a written record of the pattern of their misbehavior and the efforts that you have gone to in trying to solve the problem.
If you would like, I will post the ten rules for surviving in Mr. DWD's Class.

DWD, I'd really appreciate it. This is my first year teaching. At the bottom of the referral form there is a line for "corrective measures taken" I'm at my wit's end as to what to do with many of them.
The kids don't care what I do,they have no fear of disciplinary measures and many of their parents don't care what the kids do either. I have spoken to maybe 10 concerned parents out of 108 students in this past semester.
The girl who pulled the knife lives up the block from me... she likes the alternative school she was sent to and is going to do whatever she can to go back...she told me so last week.
I will need a shorter list. I had a list of 10 rules at the beginning of the semester. I have several who can't read and most of them couldn't get through the original list, their attention spans are too short.

Wussies!
SALT LAKE CITY - A movie theater owned by Utah Jazz owner Larry Miller abruptly changed its screening plans and decided not to show the film "Brokeback Mountain." The film, an R-rated Western gay romance story, was supposed to open Friday at the Megaplex at Jordan Commons in Sandy, a suburb of Salt Lake City. Instead it was pulled from the schedule.
A message posted at the ticket window read: "There has been a change in booking and we will not be showing 'Brokeback Mountain.' We apologize for any inconvenience."
Cal Gunderson, manager of the Jordan Commons Megaplex, declined to comment.
The film, starring Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal, is about two cowboys who discover feelings for one another. The two eventually marry women but rekindle their relationship over the years.
The movie's distributor, Focus Features, said that hours before opening, the theater management "reneged on their licensing agreement," and refused to open the film.
Gayle Ruzicka, president of the conservative Utah Eagle Forum, said not showing the film set an example for the people of Utah.
"I just think (pulling the show) tells the young people especially that maybe there is something wrong with this show," she said.
Mike Thompson, executive director of the gay rights advocacy group Equality Utah, called it disappointing.
"It's just a shame that such a beautiful and award-winning film with so much buzz about it is not being made available to a broad Utah audience because of personal bias," he said.

How sad!
PHILIPPI, W.Va. - In the darkness of the Sago Mine, one of 12 trapped coal miners scrawled a timeline detailing how he was alive but losing air at least 10 hours after an underground explosion, his daughter said Saturday.
"Each time he documented, you could tell it was getting worse," Ann Merideth told The Associated Press of the note written by her father, 61-year-old shuttle car operator Jim Bennett. "Later on down the note, he said that it was getting dark. It was getting smoky. They were losing air."
If he was lucid enough to be writing 10 hours after the blast, he could have been saved _ but the rescue operation didn't move fast enough, Merideth said.
The first rescuers didn't go into the mine until 11 hours after the blast, a lag officials said was necessary to clear the mine of high concentrations of poisonous gases. When the miners were brought out more than 40 hours after the blast, there was only one survivor.
"I'm not sure how many miners went and was able to live as long as my father had, which I'm sure most of them did, and it really bothers me because it took them so long," Bennett's daughter said.
International Coal Group Inc. chief executive Ben Hatfield, whose company operates the mine, said rescuers had to follow state and federal laws that requires a methodical approach to avoid rescuers getting trapped, injured or killed themselves.
"It is painful, and it's slow, and it was maddening as we were all just doing our level best as we were attempting to get there," Hatfield told the AP. "And we're going to do our best to make sure that families understand."
Bob Friend, the federal Mine Safety and Health Administration's acting deputy assistant secretary of labor, echoed his words, saying a primary concern in such a rescue operation is the safety of the rescue teams.
Monday's explosion killed one miner immediately. Eleven others were found huddled two miles inside the mine behind a plastic curtain they had erected to keep out deadly carbon monoxide.
The lone survivor, 26-year-old Randal McCloy Jr., remained critically ill Saturday with possible brain damage from oxygen deprivation and carbon monoxide poisoning. However, doctors at a Pittsburgh hospital said he was showing dramatic signs of recovery, including flickering his eyes, and was well enough to be flown back to a hospital closer to his West Virginia home later Saturday.
Merideth said her father's note, given to the family Friday by the medical examiner, has three or four entries, the first at 11:40 a.m. Monday, about five hours after the blast, and the final entry, with words getting fainter and trailing off the page, at 4:25 p.m., nearly 10 hours after the blast.
She said she had suspected there would have been a last note from her father, a deeply religious man who prayed for his fellow miners every day and planned to retire this year.

Message to America Love it or Leave it:
Dear Mr. Leave it:
We keep hearing that the troops are fighting to protect the freedoms of Americans. One of the most cherished freedoms of Americans is to disagree with their government.
Every American who exercises his or her right to dissent is also helping to assure that the troops are not fighting in vain.
We do support the troops, by the way, and we express that support by wishing for every single one of them to return home alive and unharmed.
With regard to your assessment of General Pace's comments to Jack Murtha, everyone here is aware that Pace, while he disagreed with Murtha, did not tell Pace to "shut his cakehole". That was just editorializing on the part of some immature right-wing spinner.
Additionally, I eagerly await for the day that you enlist in the armed sevices, travel to Iraq, and start blogging from the world you mistakenly believe you understand.

I just shoot latecomers in the ass with a BB gun.

And by "grabass", I don't mean anything the trolls have to offer...

I don't think any of them get close enough to a woman's ass to do any grabbing.

Old Man, did you ever get an answer from NTodd on his digital camera? The reason I laughed the first time you asked was that it's the same one I have - Nikon D70.
If you're trying to decide between the D50 and D70, I would recommend comparing their features, and trying to determine whether there's anything unique to the D70 that you really have to have. I'm pretty sure the picture quality is identical.
