As the American Prospect's Greg Sargent noted, "Dropping an obligatory snide generalization - or an outright distortion - about liberal Dems into his columns seems to be an occupational requirement for him these days...These omissions and distortions are beginning to suggest a pattern which borders, at best, on professional negligence, and at worst, on rank dishonesty." That, in a nutshell, is Joe Klein.
And that's why Klein is so gainfully employed.
He is Mister Truthiness.

Not clear if this is good news or bad news
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - If there was any remaining doubt that Florida's top Republican leaders weren't behind Katherine Harris's run for U.S. Senate, those leaders did their best Saturday to cast it aside.
At the state GOP's quarterly meeting, Gov. Jeb Bush said he would campaign for Harris and encouraged a crowded room of Republican activists to do the same. At a separate rally following his speech, Lt. Gov. Toni Jennings gave strong praise to Harris and told her "Go, run and win."

The comment that summarized Klein for me, in all his combination GOP-sucking up and contemptuous ignorance of the voters, is his cretinous line on TDS last year during Bush's Social Security fiasco: the Dems were 'like the guy in the Capital One commercial - 'Social Security? NOcial Security!''

I wrote that he gave campaign money to both parties and their members of Congress. He didn't. I should have said he directed his client Indian tribes to make campaign contributions to members of Congress from both parties.
Deborah Howell still has it wrong. Abramoff did not direct any tribes to contribute to the democrats for any kind of quid pro quo.

The whole point of Klein's writing Primary Colors was that he wanted to take a nice juicy lie that the Republicans were trying to spread about Bill Clinton (a lie that still lives on long after it was conclusively debunked) -- namely, that Clinton had fathered the child of a black prostitute -- and find a way to get it into media play without suffering professionally.
Now, remember, Primary Colors, though a novel, was promoted as being allegedly realistic and based on true events by a Washington insider who had to resort to anonymity and fiction to tell the truth. In fact, it was all so Joe Klein could spew lies on behalf of the RNC.

Klein's been a wanker for a long, long time, a Faux News "liberal" before Faux News even existed. When he was covering local politics for New York Magazine and appearing as a regular on a TV bloviator show, he never missed a chance to sneer at liberals, to suck up to ReTHUGs, or to promote Dem backstabbers like Ed Koch.
But that's his meal ticket: posing as a liberal yet never failing to trash liberals. On one level, I suppose it's understandable, since actual liberal commentators rarely get their mugs on TV.

. . . wow, this is sure amazing: One thing that's interesting . . . is when the RNC commits to something, and then they are blindsided . . .
For those of you who want to enjoy a sinister laugh, compare the following:
-----------------
Some people talk, others actually have something to say.
A. Consider this
What they said:
QUOTE: Joe Klein turns his nose up at bloggers: "Well I bow to nobody in, in my disdain for bloggers. They're all opinions and very little information."
The RNC has missed the information they most need to pay attention to: The link outlines how to impeach the President, and bypassing the House Judiciary Committee. This has been brewing, waiting for the RNC to commit to a national strategy. Now, with the details in the above blog-link, you'll quickly see that they're going to have to adjust.
Share the link with your friends -- let them know there can be important information in a blog, espeically one that has been designed to be ignored by the RNC. The RNC took the bait, refused to act, and now they are going to be surprised: There is a House Rule permitting a State Proclomation -- and the House can vote on this Proclomation, without it going through the House Judiciary Committee.
In short, this State Proclomation will put the RNC in a no-win situation. And what makes it worse: The RNC has to content with the real possibility that there are 50-state legislatures who may soon debate this issue. There is nothing the RNC can do to stop this process. Thankfully they have long ignored certain blogs while they naively believed there was no threat of an impeachment resolution.
State action has already commended. The RNC made a poor choice in ignoring blogs. As he said again, ""Well I bow to nobody in, in my disdain for bloggers. They're all opinions and very little information." -- Here's a fact -- the RNC is going to lose, and there is nothing they can do to prevent all of the 50 states from taking actoin at the state level.
Pass the following links to your friends, and ask your State Legislators to carefully review the Senate Judiciary Cmte hearings into the NSA domestic spying -- your state representatives may soon have an important role in this impeachment issue.
Remember, you read this in a blog, and Joe Klein is going to be surprised. Joe Klein -- a man of many words, but no reason to believe him: Blogs have valuable content, you just have to know how to use it.
Stay positive -- there is a way to do this and impeach Bush: Your state may be the one that lights the spark.
I couldn't help but notice how nervous and embarrassed he (Klien) looked. He should be. It's disgusting to watch the so-called liberals in the media desperately trying to curry favor with the right-wing. It's clear they value their careers more than their principles. I'm so sick of it - this complete right-wing take over of the MSM, that I'm going to cancel my cable - it's worthless.
