this is why I never know what's going on. It's all too fast, while I hobble along with my cane, trying to keep up.....

I was outside lighting the charcoal (in 60 degree weather, no less), and I thought I would come back for a moment to say, politics and sex, which is more important?

Dr Cap'n... I gave you props downstairs!
And you know what, you are actively hindering my productivity to get some actual work done, which in tern interfeers with my blogging. I will just have to blame you, and the character who does the Altmouse blog!

I offer the worst dish of all time.
I found it, half chewed and mangled, by Arthur's laptop. I'm glad he has better sense.
Scottish Herrings in Oatmeal
Serves 4
4 Medium herrings, cleaned, heads and tails removed.
110g (4oz) Medium oatmeal
25g (1oz) Butter
2 tbsp Vegetable oil
Lemon wedges
Salt and Pepper
Wash the fish, remove the heads and trim the tails,
Make a slit in the belly and remove the guts and the backbones.
Pat dry with kitchen paper.
Fold the fish in half and coat with seasoned oatmeal.
Heat the butter and oil in a large frying pan.
Fry in for 5 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
Drain well.
Serve immediately with the lemon wedges.

As an utter G&S geek I must point out that the correct title of this thread should be "No, I am brave!" (Atrios, did you ever see the G&S productions by the 'Penn Singers' at UPenn?)
