Why? In a development sure to rip the heart right out of the liberal radio network's already ailing body, it appears extremely likely their leased New York City flagship station WLIB-AM will soon abandon Air America programming.
Even worse, litigation looks probable over the station's lease.
While the network's last day on WLIB isn't known for certain, an internal source providing backing documentation points to the end of March. At this time, Air America parent Piquant LLC has no firm back-up plan for where in the nation's largest radio market its programming will now air...

TROUP, Texas - The police chief and a sergeant in this eastern Texas town were arrested on drug and evidence tampering charges and the department shut down.
Police Chief Chester Kennedy was charged Friday with tampering with or fabricating physical evidence. He was released from jail on a $400,000 bond.
Sgt. Mark Turner, last year's chamber of commerce Officer of the Year, was booked into Smith County Jail late Thursday on a misdemeanor delivery of marijuana charge and a third-degree felony charge of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.
Turner was being held on bonds totaling $500,000.
The department's equipment was seized by officers from other law-enforcement agencies.
Lt. Larry Wiginton of the Smith County Sheriff's Department told the Tyler Morning Telegraph that the arrests followed an eight-week investigation by the FBI, sheriff and the Smith County district attorney after Turner allegedly delivered marijuana.
The police department's three other officers were placed on paid leave.

Then I would argue that the term "projection" is abused, because it suggests a subconscious activity, rather than a deliberate one.

Phoenix didn't lose theirs because of ratings - they were ever-increasing.
The station was sold and the new owners had a different plan - religious programming - the driest, least inspirational I've probably ever heard by the way - replaced it. And that was only March 1.
Now my guess is the guy who sold it has plans. He may be contractually limited from those plans for a year, but the dial goes from 540 to what, 1650. plenty of space

My quick survey of the major liberal blogs turned up not one mention of this sell-out. I'm sorry, but I've hit my limit: Don't expect me to get all riled up about the latest Republican travesty (of which there's no limit, granted), when I can't see any difference between them and the supposed "opposition" when it comes to core, bedrock issues.
At least with the GOP, you know what you're getting. Sure, it's invariably stupid, and intended to make the already powerful even more so -- but at least they live up to expectations. I've met sponges with more spine and intellect than the Dems offer.
