I'MMA LET YOU FINISH

Whoohoo, it must be the nice thoughts I'm having.

Plans are astirring. Secret plans. Whoohoo, this is fun!

A homerun. Aw come on. Couldn't be.

Alright, this is ridiculous.

No. 6 at prime time.

Heading into record territory. No. 7

the cold moon, the lidless stars see all dims, even in your cities.

GravatarIf Bush is So anti-gay, why is he hanging around with These guys.

It's cheap, but a funny image.

GravatarStop

GravatarAnd not a typo to be found, despite the pressure.

GravatarThis thread starts out with a sustained solo, not unlike Act III of "Tristan."

GravatarSpocko has prevailed upon me to watch Network again. Good stuff.

GravatarGood afternoon.

GravatarNice work ql!!!!

GravatarMy blog currently has three photo posts in a row at the top, for those who are into that sort of thing.

GravatarMy blog currently has three photo posts in a row at the top, for those who are into that sort of thing.

My blog has nothing of the sort, since I just woke up.

But I'll go look at yours.

GravatarMy blog has nothing of the sort, since I just woke up.

Well, two of them are from last night...

GravatarGak. Monsieur has turned the AC on.

I suppose this means I could bake something for you guys.

GravatarSo does Gollum belong to someone?

GravatarHe looks pretty healthy for a stray.

GravatarSo does Gollum belong to someone?

I honestly don't know.

GravatarHe looks pretty healthy for a stray.

He's certainly way too friendly to be feral.

GravatarGood early evening. It's not evening here yet, is it?

I suffer from blogging burnout, a cyclical condition caused by something or other. Mostly the latter.

GravatarRe-HICA (see? I just had to post, below, and...)!

.

Gravatarql in ny, for this time of day, you deserve a prize!

Eli, heading over for a look.

Bless Atrios for keeping the threads spinning. Sometimes I don't know why he does it.

GravatarThe first 7! Congrats, ql in ny.

Mr. emma and I are off to see Al Gore's movie in a couple hours - it's promising that Edwards University theater in Irvine, Orange County, CA is showing it every hour in 2 theaters - that's some kind of popularity in this bastion of GOP-think.

GravatarEli, heading over for a look.

Woohoo! Hope you like paint buckets.

GravatarNed Lamont on Ring of Fire now.

GravatarEli, thanks for the 9/11 post. What a selfish fuckwit.

GravatarI'm mad as hell, and I'm not gonna take this anymore!!!

GravatarI'll have a big clinton report monday - looks like hillary is smuggling documents in her pretty yellow jumpsuit (sniff, sniff)

GravatarEli, thanks for the 9/11 post. What a selfish fuckwit.

Fucking creepy, isn't it. If the Guinness Book Of World Records had a tone-deafness category...

GravatarQL, you are doing well, eh?

Gravatar Heading into record territory. No. 7

That has to be the all time record!

GravatarSallyh, and the movie on SciFi this evening is?

GravatarLamont and RFK Jr nailing Lieberman on the environment and Social Security....

GravatarEli, is this the one that someone said was actually sort of decent?

Is it in the seven or nine o'clock slot?

Questions questions questions. (sorry)

GravatarBlogger's been screwing with me once more, refused to show the new thread for a bit.

I think it's just jealous of haloscan again.

GravatarSunny day, uninterrupted by any form of precipitation in London.

Lots of pasty white skin burned to a pink that resembles tekka maki.

GravatarHose in a rusty wheelbarrow.

That sounds ... so uncivil!

Gravatar2006 GOP Mullethead Appeal™ Launches.

GravatarEli, is this the one that someone said was actually sort of decent?

Yes (the shadowy and mysterious Codename V.) 9:00.

GravatarLondoners consider sunscreen something to be scoffed at, evidently.

GravatarJust 'cause I know y'all are so danged interested, here's my plans for the evening (all times CDT):

5:30 -- Run back to condo, grab GL1, charged battery, and tripod. Also, dry jeans, ostrich boots.

6:45 -- Depart WGOWC for some VFW in Bumfuck, TN.

8:00 -- Begin videotaping landlord's other band entanglement.

12:00 -- Get $40.

1:30 -- Get back online and see what you knuckleheads are up to (those who're still awake, of course).

Awwwwww, dang. I'll miss liveblogging of the SciFi thang. You know that breaks my heart.
.

GravatarQL, you are doing well, eh?
DWD

Oh yes. It's amazing I haven't keeled over from a heart attack considering how mad I've been over five years. And to think there are another 2 1/2 years to go.

Gravatar Londoners consider sunscreen something to be scoffed at, evidently.

Its something they only need once or twice every two or three years.

GravatarRing of Fire doing a very funny spoof of the new superhero LieberMan, whose superpower is cooperating with the villains!!

Gravatarql in ny: Oh yes. It's amazing I haven't keeled over from a heart attack considering how mad I've been over five years. And to think there are another 2 1/2 years to go.

Naw, that's pessimistic. He'll commit suicide sometime in 2007.

GravatarJeffraham: you going to be videoing the snyth-Hendrix band?

GravatarBlogger's been screwing with me once more, refused to show the new thread for a bit.

I think it's just jealous of haloscan again.

Blogger has recently discovered that it is simply a Haloscan delivery vector, and isn't pleased.
.

GravatarHello, I thought I would put a plug in for a good friend's literary journal "The Rogue Voice". I've been bugging him to get it online for months, so I finally helped him put it on as a blog (after a few beers) last night. Great, mostly left leaning stories. Highlights this month: A guy who was evicted from camping at a WalMart and a prison inmate describes his unusual job at the prison chapel. The writing is superb and I'm sure feedback would be appreciated.

Also, any blogger experts who know how to tweak the format a little, your suggestions would be appreciated.

GravatarVince Welnick died.

GravatarThe Old Man From Scene 24: Jeffraham: you going to be videoing the snyth-Hendrix band?

No, this is another band my landlord's attached to, at the moment. A three-piece classic rock outfit called Sticky Kim.

And it's not Bumfuck, I've been informed -- it's Smyrna (which the locals pronounce SUH-myrna).
.

GravatarVince Welnick died.

From the Tubes?

GravatarSallyh, and the movie on SciFi this evening is?

Boo!

Oh, right!!

Excellent. A scary one.

GravatarFrom the Tubes?

Yes.

GravatarWGG, if you've moved up from the thread beneath--

When our old washer decided it had had enough, we bought a front loader too. I think, about a year and a half ago. Less water, less detergent, cleaner clothes. A win-win in my opinion, even if it cost a bit more initially.

The Old Man From Scene 24

Jeebus. Natural causes? Don't say old age...

GravatarYou can fool SOME of the people ALL of the time and those are the ones we're gonna concentrate on.

That's how the crime family does it!

Gravatarit's Smyrna (which the locals pronounce SUH-myrna).

Earl: Who's at the door, Ethel?

Ethel: It's, ah [looking out window] Myrna

(I don't know why....)

GravatarLamont just said he's willing to put his own money into the race. That's a lot o'money.

GravatarJeebus. Natural causes? Don't say old age...

The cause of death was not released. There's a story on CNN.com

GravatarLess water, less detergent, cleaner clothes.

And clothes that aren't ripped apart.

We've had one since about 1995. Love it.

GravatarIt's gotten to the point when you hear a contemporary has passed on, you hope it was an accident... life sucks.

Gravatarheya you lovely moonbats

GravatarOh! And since I've fallen down completely on the Curly front, here's a brief clip of what I was doing at age 24... dang, almost 19 years ago!
.

GravatarIt's gotten to the point when you hear a contemporary has passed on, you hope it was an accident... life sucks.

There are things you do that can lead to a shortened life.

Gravatarmy mother just informed me we have a hedgehodge famlily living underneath the garden shed.

she has promised to send a photo.

GravatarThere are things you do that can lead to a shortened life.

Like play keyboards for the Grateful Dead.

Gravatarmy mother just informed me we have a hedgehodge famlily living underneath the garden shed.

I've heard they make good pets.

Gravatar my mother just informed me we have a hedgehodge famlily living underneath the garden shed.

I like hedgehogs. Strange creatures. We don't have them here.

GravatarSomething weird's going on with the UAE... I've had three catnip-related Google searches from there in the last two days.

Should I expect the NSA to be giving me a cavity search any minute, now?
.

GravatarA very strange weather day here on the leeward coast of Lake Michigan. It is beautifully sunny and cool (mid sixties) but there are these occasionally thundershowers . . .

The dark clouds move in with a mysterious rumbling, the bright sun is dimmed, the rain falls with abandon: then it moves on and it is beautifully sunny.

Strange.

GravatarI like hedgehogs. Strange creatures. We don't have them here.

strange tastes.

Gravatarapparenly one of the hedgehodges was attacking the rubbish bags.

my mother calls them Mrs Tiggywinkle's.

GravatarIt's a picture-perfect day here in western Dairy State. I can hear the uncut grass calling me, but I'm resisting...

GravatarDWD: The dark clouds move in with a mysterious rumbling, the bright sun is dimmed, the rain falls with abandon: then it moves on and it is beautifully sunny.

Strange.

Except for the temperature, that sounds like 65% of all summer days in Gnashvegas.

GravatarIt looks like he (Vince)took his own life but that's not confirmed.

Grateful Dead keyboard player Vince Welnick dies
By Sara Wykes
Mercury News
Vince Welnick, 55, who played keyboards with the Grateful Dead for five years before the death of band founder Jerry Garcia, died Friday.

Sonoma County sheriffs said he was taken, injured, from his home in rural Forestville near Santa Rosa, to a local hospital.

He died there, police said.

An unofficial spokesman at the Welnick home said, ``It looks like he took his own life.'' But that is not known for sure, he said. ``The family is very grieved, and trying to figure it all out.''

GravatarI like hedgehogs. Strange creatures. We don't have them here.

Hedgehog Watch - Very successful!

[Sorry, only might remotely make sense to folks who have kids who watch/watched Kipper.]

Gravatar It looks like he (Vince)took his own life but that's not confirmed.

thats so awful.

GravatarThey had three times the explosives of Oklahoma City. Three times, you hear. Aren't you afraid? Three times, mind you.

Of course they were in another country and had no plans for the US but CNN wannts you to be afraid.

Gravatarql in ny - 25th September

GravatarSpeaking of commercials, this one may be my favorite of all time...

GravatarFrom Wikipedia

Hedgehogs are a powerful form of pest control. A single hedgehog can keep an average garden free of pests by eating up to 200 grams of insects each night. Therefore, it is common throughout England to see people attempting to lure hedgehogs into their yards with treats and hedgehog-sized holes in their fences.

GravatarOf course they were in another country and had no plans for the US but CNN wannts you to be afraid.
Snow

They hate Canadianite freedoms, since we ain't got none no more. And poutine, They really hate poutine.

GravatarEli,

I left you a comment on your pic's. I'm sure you'll remember our past discussions, especially on black and white photography.

GravatarI love hedgehogs. Have a few of them scattered around the house, including some we got in England.

Gravataryep i have around 3 months off!

GravatarWhen our old washer decided it had had enough, we bought a front loader too. I think, about a year and a half ago. Less water, less detergent, cleaner clothes. A win-win in my opinion, even if it cost a bit more initially.

Mer: about twice $$$ what the comparable Kenmore top-loading washer cost, new. it occurred to me later that one needn't really buy the complementary dryer...though in the instance i was able to rationalize it cuz one of the paddles on the dryer drum was gone...

$1200 for the pair, delivered, with the older machines removed. sears will send me a $150 rebate, and the city of Albuquerque will gimme a $100 credit on my water bill...

i am no connoisseur of the relative cleanliness of my clothes...i do sweaty work and i eat off a plate on a tray pretty often; my criterion is simple: it gets the food spots and the sweat-stink out...

i just did my first load of laundry in the new machines...i'll letcha know...

GravatarAin't never seen a hedgehog 'round these here parts, but I have seen groundhogs. They're a blast to watch, moving. It's hard to describe their movement, though...
.

GravatarMy husband just said that the guy prolly squeezed 85 years into 51.

I hope he's grateful now that's he's dead.

GravatarI left you a comment on your pic's. I'm sure you'll remember our past discussions, especially on black and white photography.

Thanks. I'm not sure - have we had many photographical discussions here?

GravatarWell, I'm going to go run some errands and grab a steak for this evening.

I shall return in time for sci-fi blogging.

(Eli and Sally breath great sighs of relief)

It sorta depends what *them* is.

GravatarWhite punk on dope?

Most likely.

GravatarWPOD means....?

GravatarWow, three months that's terrific!

Eli the ads are hysterical.

Okay, actually cooking tonight, so I'm off. Hope everybody stays in a good mood.

GravatarEli,

yeah..it's been a while ago. I was commenting on what i thought was a black and white photo and you corrected me. it was a color, but turned out looking black and white.

GravatarI may have read the comments too quickly, but, do I understand that there was a group of hedgehog-terrorists ready to invade the U.S. from England with three times the explosives that they had in Oklahoma City and that they were going to burst through the blogs and kill all our pests meaning trolls?

Gravatarroll up, roll up! Special Saturday Hedgehog Blogging

GravatarWhite punk on dope?

Yeup. They all have some kinda pain they are trying to kill. Rush Limbaugh... WPOD.

Doing a bunch of tapas stuff and need to get back to it.

Gravataryeah..it's been a while ago. I was commenting on what i thought was a black and white photo and you corrected me. it was a color, but turned out looking black and white.

I remember that, although I'm blanking on who you might be. I'll see if I can find that post...

I thought you were someone else at first, but they would never use exclamation points.

GravatarTubes anthem... White Punks On Dope!

GravatarRIP Vince.

GravatarHedgehogs are teh adorable!!!

We had a groundhog family living under the porch a couple of years back.

Baby groundhogs are the cutest!

GravatarTo kick of Torture Awareness Month, here's my post on John Yoo's redefinition of torture and how it has led to the slippery slide the US is going down.

GravatarHere's the Inmate's Story:
http://theroguevoice.blogspot.co...fe-in- cage.html

Gravatarunfortunately you can't understand Finnish.

GravatarI can't believe Atrios hasn't posted a link to pix of 10 sumo asses ascending the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Priceless.

http://inquirer.philly.com/slide...sumo/ index.html

GravatarWait, I'm still fuming about the anti-gay marraige speech. That's why junior is the president of america.

Because this country is populated by a majority so poorly educated and informed, that the media -- assuming they're not quite as clueless -- can't be bothered to explain such a subtle point as junior's judicial hypocrisy, probably assuming correctly that the average voter doesn't care, won't get it, or really is stupid, so why bother. And reporting costs money, so that's out.

GravatarThe radio silence from the left on the terror busts in Toronto and London is still ongoing, I see. I guess the "reality based" community is having difficulty explaining a terror plot in Canada? Best to not mention it and hope it goes away - heck, over at Kos, they called it a "slow news day".

When Atrios next needs a "Wanker of the Day", he could try a mirror.
