Gravataryeah, i think bush is surpassing reagan. to be fair, reagan was handicapped by alzheimer's--nobody will ever know how bad he could have been, if he'd been in peak condition.

GravatarFrom link: Post 9/11 stock options; 'America was smouldering, the WTC lay in ruins, and this group of classless pigs decided it was time to pocket some cash. '

These thugs don't know anything about values, it's all about the money.

Hey, WGG. We can try.

Gravatari'm outta here, batz...

GravatarNice - take notes for when our children's children finally figure out that they were fucked and decide to do something about it.

GravatarThese idiots have pissed me off to where they mostly make me feel tired.

GravatarThe Harvard Mafia broke out the champaign right after the second plane struck.

GravatarOT: UPDATE 4-Grupo Mexico fires La Caridad copper mine workers

MEXICO CITY, July 14 (Reuters) - Copper giant Grupo Mexico has fired all its workers at La Caridad, one of the world's largest copper mines, to try to break a strike at a time of heightened political and social conflict in Mexico.

Around 2,000 workers at the mine in Sonora state close to the U.S. border had their contracts canceled after winning government approval, the company said on Friday.

The workers had been on strike since March to protest the ouster of a union boss, one of a series of stoppages that have crippled metals production in the country.

GravatarOkay - off to frolic with Atriots. I'll take pictures.

GravatarWhat makes this so pathetic is that corporate executives could have stepped up AND BOUGHT STOCKS IN THE OPEN MARKET if they believed they were so cheap. It would have been reassuring to a nation to see the leaders of industry voting with their own dollars. It might have made the subsequent economic slow down and period of tense aftermath less painful.>

Instead, these weasels decided to loot the treasury at the first opportunity. America was smouldering, the WTC lay in ruins, and this group of classless pigs decided it was time to pocket some cash.

"It's money that matters/In the U.S.A."--Randy Newman

Newman is our prophet.

GravatarIt's over 100 F here and Thursday 3 horses died at Lone Star Park. There's another place besides the corporate rat factory that needs to close down.

GravatarMy better half was watching Boots and Putin in a presser and was hollering at the TV about how stupid Boots is.

That is unusual. It is usually the big dumb one that does all the screaming.

I asked her what he said. Something to the effect that he hopes Russia can implement its 'own' kind of democracy.

To which Putin replied that he hopes it's not the same kind of democracy that Boots installed in Iraq.

GravatarOkay - off to frolic with Atriots. I'll take pictures.

Ooh! Frolicking Atriots!

What a concept.....

GravatarYep, these guys were only following the gospel laid down by St. Ronnie Raygun: I'll get mine at any cost. Indeed, they view it as a (im)moral imperative, and would be seen as a slacker among their peers (woe! lamentations!) if they didn't grab all they can.

GravatarBoy. Howdy.

I remember the first foreign policy crisis that the Bush Admin. had to face was the spy plane in China incident, and they handled it like the ham-fisted amateurs they are. The only thing these people know how to do is bomb a place all to fuck and then not give a shit what happens in the aftermath (cf. Iraq). And these are the "grownups" in charge.

Gravatar"To which Putin replied that he hopes it's not the same kind of democracy that Boots installed in Iraq."

ouch. i got mad as hell watching the pig stuff from germany...i can't believe people voted for that shithead.

GravatarFired the workers after they approved the contract and the government assented to the agreement?
That's cold.

Gravatar'Putin replied that he hopes it's not the same kind of democracy that Boots installed in Iraq.
billy b'

Not bad pootie.

Ruth

Good lord, they can't take better care of horses than that?

GravatarWhat makes this so pathetic is that corporate executives could have stepped up AND BOUGHT STOCKS IN THE OPEN MARKET if they believed they were so cheap.

What would have been the fun in that? Hell, that would have cost them out of pocket dollars. Much better to get the options...

Gravatarouch. i got mad as hell watching the pig stuff from germany...i can't believe people voted for that shithead.
jdw

"Really lookin' forward to that pig."

I just shook my head.

GravatarAnd now, Olmert's playing cowboy in the Middle East.

GravatarOT: Panama debates widening canal

Panama will hold a public referendum on whether to go ahead with a $5.3 billion project to widen the Panama Canal that connects the Pacific and Atlantic oceans.

Legislators from the ruling Democratic Revolutionary Party and opposition parties voted on Thursday to hold the referendum in three months.

They argue that the canal must be widened to allow a new generation of larger cargo ships to pass through it.

Some union workers and intellectuals have formed a group called 'National Union for No' to oppose the proposal.

GravatarNTodd--have the 167 children finally screwed your brain completely?

GravatarIt's the same type of unAmerican asshole who will lay off 5,000 workers with families to feed, pave over a Revolutionary or Civil War battlefield where men died for this country, or destroy a habitat and wipe an entire species off the face of the Earth

and call it a "business decision".

I agree with the link: there is almost nothing that is too bad or cruel to wish on them.

Gravatar'Good lord, they can't take better care of horses than that?
Rmj, Uncredentialed'

The people watch from airconditioned comfort. Makes me ill.

GravatarI just shook my head.
Rmj, Uncredentialed

Exactly. Boots has never, to my recollection, said anything toughtful or profound.

It's just the simple-ass one-liners that he thinks are funny that are not.

GravatarPootie actually has a quick wit; W, well, you know.

Gravatarwow, 3 horses in one day. that's inexcusable.

GravatarOT: FirstGroup to root out anti-union practices

FirstGroup, the bus and rail giant, yesterday pledged to stamp out management anti-union activities in its North American operation, amid claims that its staff there are toiling under poor working conditions.

Moir Lockhead, FirstGroup's chief executive, yesterday also confirmed the company was targeting the acquisition of a majority stake in Dutch public transport group Connexxion for its first foray into continental Europe.

GravatarPootie actually has a quick wit; W, well, you know.
plantsman, lowercase

well, w is a half one.

Gravatar NTodd--have the 167 children finally screwed your brain completely?

You mean more than it already was?

GravatarNTodd--I'm convinced that children are the reason God invented alcohol.

GravatarTurpitude is what these assclowns use to take the paint off of their faces.
I'm no Marxist, but what's happening in America and the "free market" world is exactly what he and Engel's predicted.
The only job of a corporation is to make money. The big-time executive skim off the cream and leave little for the worker's.
What are companies in this country thinking?
We can't all be greeter's at WalMart!
Hey, American corporations, who'se going to buy your $#!t if every job is either minimum wage or outsourced?
WTF happened to America?!? I don't recognize this country anymore. We're becoming a Corporatist Soviet Republic - welcome to the USSA...
Wait, I hear a knock on my door...
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BANG...

GravatarLeave it to executives to pull shit like this in the wake of the nation's greatest disaster and week of mourning.

GravatarThat is the difference between a big businessman and a human being. Humans saw 9/11 happening and thought "Oh my God, the humanity".

Big business saw it happen and thought, "I'll bet the market will tank, let's crank out some stock option grants and make some fucking money".

I am surprised every day we don't see these cocksuckers heads paraded down 5th Ave on pikes.

Erik

GravatarDidn't someone do a study a few years ago where he administered the sociopath diagnostic questionaire to a bunch of CEOs?
Turns out the incidence of sociopathic personalities is way above the norm in the business executive class.

GravatarEric,
Lucky for them the rest of us can't AFFORD pike's anymore. Thanks to them...

GravatarThanks for putting this thread up.

Wish I could stuff this down the throat of the undereducated that pablum puke on cspan's phone lines.

Too bad most of the calls are critical. They present it 50-50 but a majority of callers are extremely critical. Note that there's no middle ground.

CSpan has become Pravda in real time terms.
