The Path to 9/11 needs to be dropped and not shown. Basing a movie of that tragedy on misinterpretations of the 9/11 Commission Report and a book authored by former ABC News correspondent John Miller who is an assistant director of public affairs for the FBI (http://www.fbi.gov/libref/executive/miller.htm) for the Bush administration, serves only the propaganda needs of the people in the White House. ABC's collaboration with the White House on this film is the definition of FASCISM. Stop this.

I hate Disney movies. Always have.
The parents always die in the beginning, leaving the kid alone and frightened.
I could never get past how that was supposed to be enjoyable.
And I hate mice too. And Mickey. I have always hated Mickey Mouse. Annoying little fucker.

I suppose the WATB Bush sycophants are already whining about censorship. If ABC pulls it (won't happen) or edits it even more, the screeching of the freepi is going to be quite priceless.

It was Snow White in the glass coffin. I think those images are responsible for me spending thousands of dollars on psychotherapy. My father took me and promptly fell asleep. He woke up because I was hysterical.

Then a Senate committee puts out a report that airbrushes history, leaving out the most important evidence of links between Iraq and al Qaeda, for the sole purpose of making a Republican administration look bad. I think it's really important to work hard to get a Republican majority in the Senate, so the Dems won't be able to pull stunts like these!

"Ol' Yeller" was what busted it for me. Kid has to kill beloved yet rabid dog. Yeah, that's good family entertainment.

P O'Neill --
Wow, that's either pathetic or scary or both.
The levels of denial & delusion on the right are reaching historic -- and hysteric -- proportions.
Out of respect for Godwin's Law, I won't invoke the obvious parallel with the "stab in the back" theory that was the gospel of an earlier generation of right-wingers in another land....

Assrocket apparently doesn't even know that there is already a Republican majority in both houses and they've been furiously giving Bush a free ride on his crimes and lies for years. This latest report makes a token gesture towards factualness. That's just too much for a deluded fool like Hinderaker.

To repeat the obvious:
it no longer matters the fate of Pt9-11, or theoutcome of the discussions over its truthiness (a nice way to describe 'propaganda').
What matters is that IT'S OUT THERE, irremediably and irretrievably.
the consoling meme that the Bushits were helpless in the wake of Clintonian tail-wagging and blowjobbed accountability is now part of the mythos of IXXI.
it doesn't matter if it's true, it doesn't matter if it's lies, what matters is IT'S FUCKING OUT THERE!
which was the point all along

That's what struck me about his rantings. But like all of the apologists, he just conveniently "forgets" that they've had all the levers of power for several years and THAT'S why everything's fucked up.

the consoling meme that the Bushits were helpless in the wake of Clintonian tail-wagging and blowjobbed accountability is now part of the mythos of IXXI.
That particular mythos didn't start with this particular made for TV piece of crap. In fact, this is the line that Bush and his supporters started pushing on the very afternoon of the attacks, and have honed over the years into a veritable orgy on nonaccountability.
This movie just one more component in the 'I didn't do it!' PR blitz of the Bush administration. It's a travesty, and it shouldn't air, but it isn't the beginning or the end of the myth of Bush nonaccountability for 9/11.

Been out there long before this. Gonna be out there long after this.
You can't fix stupid.
And you can't erase a bad idea.
"V" was right: ideas are bulletproof. All ideas, unfortunately.
The only cure for bad speech like this, is more speech. It's always true that truth is putting on its boots while a lie is already half-way 'round the world. These are always the conditions that prevail.
To rail against them is to complain that the sun came up again this morning.

So now I have to simplify. Well, it's always been out there, and will always be out there. As "V" said, "Ideas are bulletproof." That applies to good ones as well as bad ones.
And the only cure is more speech. You can't stop bad speech, or erase it. You can only counter it. These are the conditions that prevail. Complaining about it is like complaining that the sun came up this morning.

The only good this POS movie can do is to shove the events of 9/11 back on to the front page. Print the stunned Bush not reading his copy of The Pet Goat. Give the timelines and the bizarre coincidences that occured that day. Ask the same questions again and again that expose Bush's failings.
If we can't stop this hateful movie, we can remind people Clinton stood way above 60% in his approval ratings even as he was impeached. Bush has gotten down to 34% even with support of the media and ownership of the three branches of government.

I have friends of mine that were able to work with an animal trainer to modify the behaviour of their overly agressive dog. It doesn't always work, and it takes time, but it might be worth a try if you have the means and really want to keep the animal.
The trainer worked both with the animal and the owners so that bad behaviour wasn't unconsciously reinforced. Their dog is still pretty excitable, but they can control it much better than before the training.

rmj, as yiu prob'ly know, i wasnt advocating suppressing it, preventing 'speech.'
more speech, however, in this case, is not going to ameliorate the consequences of the original, but will likely inflate 'em...
and further distract attention from larger, more important, more consequential discourses...
which is exactly the purpose of this feculent miscarriage in the first place...

Completely agree. All the furor will be the smoke and mirrors that create the illlusion of a stirred-up Bush Base. It will be easier to pull off vote fraud as long as they've created the appearance that voters for Repub/Repub-supported candidates will turn out in droves.
