Lieberman's support of Bush is a legitimate campaign issue, I said. Sounding like Alex Trebek on meth, Davis demanded that I name two issues unrelated to Iraq where Lieberman departed from his party to support Bush. When I couldn't produce them right away he kept barking the question and saying, "Is that the best you can do?"
Should have been better prepared for that one, frankly.
I always kind of liked Lanny Davis. Too bad he drank the koolaid.
These guys really have to get a grip. Lamont won. End of story. With no people on the ground, it's gonna be hard for Lieberman to pull it off. Maybe he could use the time between now and December by, oh I don't know, showing and voting on occasion.

The fact is that Joe has been on an ego-bender since the time he got recognition for condemning Clinton.
Joe really got carried away when Gore mistakenly named him as his running mate.
Lieberman needs to retire and Lanny needs to realize that Joe was never that good of a liberal to begin with.
Or vote against his party on a key amendment or cloture vote but then switch back for the final.

Is any other conclusion plausible other than he's drinking, folks? Classic alcoholic reactions. One or two more confrontations with the press and he'll lose it on national television.
Lanny Davis, in my opinion, is the saddest of "liberal/leftwing" types. There is certainly nothing wrong with civility...but when you just continue to expose your butt to the other guy and say, POLITELY, Kick Me...MY GOD!!! It should be our strength to look at all facts, both sides, and draw a measured conclusion as to THE TRUTH of matters...but with folks like Mr. Davis we just look WEAK!!! And yet the media continues to go to folks like him on the left and Victoria Toernsig (?) - the BULLDOG on the right for EXPERTISE! Please find some other voices out there.
BTW did anyone catch the author of THE BLOG OF WAR on WJ this am? Right after saying he tried NOT to be political he slammed Murtha (and then again in response to a caller)...as his "I'm impartial/unpartisan" mask was slipping off one could see that he was of the MY COUNTRY (oh, make that my administration) RIGHT OR WRONG camp...just what we need more of right now.

Lanny is all about Lanny. He's not a liberal or a Democrat, just a shameless self-promoter. When this guy offers his services, run!! His advice is almost always 180 degrees from the client's best interest, and designed to garner the maximum publicity for Lanny.
Consider that this is the guy who brags about having told Clinton to make the "I did not have sexual relations with that woman" speech. Lanny is toxic and Democrats who want to win or to advance progressive interests should have nothing to do with him. That he is advising Lieberman is the best news I've heard for Lamont since the primary.
Jeez, what a dick. I've never been more proud to volunteer for a campaign than I am for Ned Lamont.
DelRPCY is correct. Lanny's a schmuck and a poseur. If he, Gerstein and the Sunster are Joe's braintrust his campaign is in worse shape that I thought.
I just have to wonder though, why can't Lieberman be as dogged and persistent in arguing for Democratic principles and policies as his henchmen are for arguing for Lieberman?
