On the unlikely chance that people haven't heard enough about pasty white players who used to play for the Celtics, remember Scott Wedman, who once went 12 for 12 or something in a playoff game. All bombs.
Okay back to the moral degeneracy of the GOP...

Diane C., I did read your post about the Wall of Deception (great title, btw) this morning. Then I left to do a bunch of yardwork. What a gorgeous day.

Check out October's issue of THE ROGUE VOICE
Great writing and political commentary.
This month features prison inmate Tito David Valdez Jr., serving a life sentence (unjustly), as he tells the story of his arrest and conviction.

I talked to a friend recently about the Steely Dan album Gaucho. It's my favorite of theirs. Many dislike it, thinking it some sort sell-out muzak
I think it pure jazz-pop beuaty, semi-perverse lyrics, off-kilter ace melodies

If we lived in a rational country there would not be a Gooper party.
EVeryone knows they represent the Special Interests to the max and couldn't give a rat's ass what happens to the rest of the American people.
The Gooper party exists to give the rich corporations tax breaks and government contracts and to do the bidding of the religious right freaks.
Fascists, pure and simple.

They buy every star player available, whether it's Randy Johnson or Bobby Abreau or Alex Rodriguez.
They want to corner the market on the best talent and they won't even be paying the penalty for having the largest payroll in baseball anymore, because by building a new Yankee Stadium they are exempt from penalty payments.

Ugh. Andrew Sullivan's website http://time.blogs.com/daily_dish/ has a loony link to a Muslim-bashing page explaining prohibitions against masturbation during Ramadan. For all his discourse about human rights for gay republicans, he just doesn't get the bigotry in posting links that mock Muslims.
Hey, Andrew, find some links about ill papa's prohibitions on Catholics masturbating and make fun of those. There are plenty.
Sorry for using your blog to grump about this Atrios, but of course, Andrew cannot afford to allow public posting on his site.

While we're inundated by sex, lies, and Foley's Follies.... the media carries on its distractions. Where were the reports about all the really important stuff we have to know?
Aside from obliterating the US Constitution, GW Bush and cartel have managed to withdraw from ELEVEN international treaties since coming to power.
Twenty-four seven reporting is the norm when it comes to titillating events such as Foley's Folly....but nary a word on the actions of this administration on matters that will affect the American people and the world for generations to come.
Can you name more than a couple of the treaties that have been dumped into the proverbial toilet bowl?
Here's the complete list. It's Jesse Blog toda - so just
What are the chances that those treaties prevented money going into BushCo's pockets?
Follow the money. Control the corporations. Subvert Fox News. Electing Democrats might help, but we've got to fix the planet, seems to me while we're at it.
