Tweety actually asked his guest the other night why he called it the "democrat" party. After a few stammers and guffaws, his guest corrected himself. And then proceeded to keep doing it throughout the interview. These are petty, petulant little fucks that we deal with, and they need to be treated as such. Ask your Republican friends how they feel about 2008, when it will be 2 to 1 ratio for the number of Senate seats in play, and that the best they got right now is McStain, Gullibliani, and Romney. Romney...... sheesh.

the only thing that matters with the media is that they realize thier proper role as perveyor of factual information...not propaganda.

In regards to the misnomer 'Democrat' party, I consistantly refer th the Republican party as 'pubs', or 'pukes', or slime. I'll try to control myself.

The difference is that all of the Repulicans, from W, to Delay, to Newt do it. And it is boorish and petty. They don't deserve our respect when they can give none in return.

On last night's Lehrer NewsHour, Ray Suarez actually asked why democracy is bad for democracy:
RAY SUAREZ: The chattering class's idea that leadership elections are somehow bad or signs of internal dissent, now, I'm a Cold War kid. I grew up watching pictures of the Supreme Soviet, with everybody raising their hands. They didn't have any leadership elections, and no problem about it. But nobody endorses that model, I don't think, do they?

Why do folks persist in the delusion that "the media" as a social institution is profoundly conservative and that opinion makers who dominate the media, are, for the most part, wealthy white men who only care about keeping their taxes low. The only differences between Tweetie and Halprin and the "rabid right" types like Rush and Coulter is diction and volume. The substantive content and ideological perspective are the same.
I mean really, who reads the Times or Post or watches anything on television for the purpose of finding out the "news," anymore.

I must correct General Zod in that he didn't just ask he also demanded that little bushite, Ron christy, to quit saying it. He said it was the democratic party. I found that fun.
The article needs to be emailed to all the media outlets and let it be known we will not, we refuse to, sit back and allow them to go back to trashing the Dems and they will not do to nancy pelosi what they did to Bill clinton. There was no real blogs in the 90s but, we now can and will hold the media to task for thier habit of licking the ass of the gop while trashing and sneering at the democrats.
Times have changed and they will be reminded of this everyday.

For instance---why isn't the media having a field day connecting the publisher of the OJ book, Judith Regan---with the married guy, Bernard Kerik, who was boning her, and was a heavily promoted protoge of Mayor Rudy? And during this time the dry drunk president sent Kerik to Iraq where he failed after a matter of weeks and then the dry drunk president nominated Kerik to become the first head of the new biggest federal agency in history.
Shouldn't the media even make a passing reference to that?

Talk of the Nation never recovered from Ray Saurez leaving. He wasn't shy about challenging guest. So of coure when he left they replaced him with wan(sic) williams who never asked a tough question in his life and then with neil conan who understands that his job is to appeal to white suburbanites and screw the rest of the public radio audience.

I heard recently (on NPR) that Juan Williams's son is a Republican politician in DC. That may explain a lot.

Speaking of "substance-free, sophomoric taunting ... of Democrats," Maureen Dowd is a sexist idiot. Her hit piece on Pelosi in today's NYT is just unbelievable.
