I saw this interview at the time it happened, and I was shocked by how hostile the questioning was. They weren't just challenging, they were actively insulting.
Edwards was treated much more fairly later that night on Hardball. Matthews certainly questioned him, but didn't come across as if he'd like to knife Edwards rather than talk to him.

Its not the people in front of the camera -- they are actors reading their lines. Its the producers and the management that decide the tone they want in their on-air news people.

If a on-camera talent was to behave in this manner toward Repubs, they would get "the talk" off camera. In any event, these questions were scripted before the appearance, and probably on a teleprompter. The on-air people are just robots.

Ed Henry has all the qualities befitting a flak for a back-bencher GOP state assemblyman. He is a a mediocrity. Malveaux has beautiful skin tone and lovely eyes.
I'm glad Clark has been getting in a lot of good practice in dealing with the horrible people we allow to interpret the news for us...
