GravatarGood morning.

Gravatar'Barack' actually means "President", Obama reveals.

GravatarNot even 3rd....

Great - love to see you

GravatarAnd like magic, Molly's threat to open a thread works!

Gravatar"They say" that Mike Allen pro'ly moves his lips when he reads.

GravatarDid everyone see 4legsgood's new kitty? There are kitten pix up at her site. Such a cutie!

GravatarI agree, Mike, stop. writing. forever.

Oh, and Anna Nicole is alive! They say she has been spotted in Vegas with Elvis.

Gravatar'Blunders and War Powers ' at the homepage. Hint: they don't go together. Remove.

GravatarA Princeton Lab on ESP Plans to Close Its Doors

I knew that was going to happen

GravatarI saw Mike Allen on Hardball once, and he kept calling Chris Matthews "sir."

GravatarAnd like magic, Molly's threat to open a thread works!

Well, I failed, but I made Atrios some coffee.

GravatarI don't get it, is Obama too black or too Muslim or both?

GravatarOh, and Anna Nicole is alive! They say she has been spotted in Vegas with Elvis.

Are they both in their Fat Phase?

GravatarOh, come on; let's do what Dinettes says -- stop doing all the stuff Muslims don't like and surrender to the terraists!

/snark

GravatarMolly! 100 what a day? Er, maybe I don't wanna know?

GravatarI don't get it, is Obama too black or too Muslim or both?

Yes.

GravatarMolly! 100 what a day? Er, maybe I don't wanna know?

Heh. Hits on my blog.

GravatarThese people have to be possessed by some kind of demon to write this slime.

Bring me an eclair!

GravatarDid you see the wife of the TrimSpa dude saying Anna really dint like female wrestler Chyna? It got ugly.

GravatarI don't get it, is Obama too black or too Muslim or both?

He's too Hussein/Osama, is what I hear.
.

GravatarAre they both in their Fat Phase?

Nah, they're looking good and successfully dodging those who would take photos of them in their body bags. :P

GravatarBring me an eclair!

True: the 7YO made himself some of those mini-eclairs last night, then decided to go to bed. There was a plate of them by the computer whern I got up this morning.

GravatarObama announcing he's quitting smoking today, obviously a ploy to pander to the lung cancer victim sector.

GravatarMorning Molly!!!

GravatarObama announcing he's quitting smoking today, obviously a ploy to pander to the lung cancer victim sector.

Those damn pandering multi-ethnic philanderers.

GravatarTucker pushes Nicorette alla time on his "show".
So he's still a nicotine addict, now he just chews it.

GravatarReal news; (from below)
'experts say terror threat to SMU real' is headlines in DMNews. oh, go for it.

Gravatar(((UNE!!)))

GravatarActually I don't believe he ever smoked, a double lie to pander to both working class smokers and healthy living liberals. And "they say" that Obama had a fondess for the white stuff and perhaps even the needle.

GravatarObama's mortal sin may have been that he was not sufficiently deferential to the Mighty Mike Allen a few days earlier:

Reporters were barred – a somewhat unusual, although not unheard of, policy for a meet-and-greet-type event in a public place like a hotel. The White House, which keeps fairly strict control of the press, typically allows reporters into large receptions in a hotel, at least while President Bush is speaking, although it closes fund-raisers at residences. The Senator came, and an aide said he was “mostly just going to speak his mind.” That included a closing line that got a good laugh from the supportive crowd.

As Obama left the hotel reception, smiling and saying, “Thank you AGAIN,” I introduced myself and said, “Good evening, Senator, may I walk with you?” He replied, “You can walk with me. That doesn’t mean you can ask questions.” I chuckled, thinking he was kidding. “But you can certainly walk with me,” he added. The Senator then underscored, “I’m sorry. I’m not answering questions.”

If Obama were "really black" we might have to call such behavior "uppity."

GravatarI haven't even had my coffee yet, and we're already wanking?

GravatarSo he's still a nicotine addict, now he just chews it.

I picture him like Krusty, covering his skin with them and licking the patches.

GravatarIs anyone else seeing a Catholic League ad that "Condoms don't save lives!" right smack on the front page? (Yes, I know Atrios doesn't control the ads. It just seems weird.)

GravatarThe proposed Shrub Lieberry is the biggest threat to SMU, imo.

Gravatarshinypenny,
Click it.

GravatarAtrios DOES control that ad -- it was explained yestiddy.

GravatarWhatever its origins, the exotic, multicultural name – so open to interpretation that some Irish folks he ran into assumed “O’Bama” must be one of theirs

I think we have it, He's just too...........Irish.

GravatarI still think we should give Molly credit for the new threads.

That said, I am willing to be grateful to Atrios as well. My dial-up gerbils showed their teeth when I attempted to refresh the mega late night thread.

GravatarThe front page ad is a joke -- pointing out what the Catholic League is really all about.

Gravatargood thing he didn't stick with Barry (bury) Obama

GravatarResponding to complaints about conditions at the nation’s main family detention center for illegal immigrants, officials threw open the gates on Friday for a first news media tour.

They portrayed the privately run converted prison, open since May, as a model facility “primarily focused on the safety of the children.”

Once all the barbed wire comes down, Gary Mead, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement official, said, “it’s going to look more like a community college with a very high chain-link fence.”

GravatarBwahahaha!

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070...m/ russia_usa_dc
MUNICH, Germany (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin sharply criticized the United States and its Western allies on Saturday for what he said was an attempt to force their will on the world.

"What is a unipolar world? No matter how we beautify this term it means one single center of power, one single center of force and one single master," Putin said.

"It has nothing in common with democracy because that is the opinion of the majority taking into account the minority opinion. People are always teaching us democracy but the people who teach us democracy don't want to learn it themselves."

"This is very dangerous. Nobody feels secure any more because nobody can hide behind international law," he said.

GravatarAt a farewell reception at Blair House for the retiring chief of protocol, Don Ensenat, who was President Bush's Yale roommate, the president shook hands with Washington Life Magazine's Soroush Shehabi. A grandson of one of the late Shah's ministers, Soroush said, "Mr. President, I simply want to say one U.S. bomb on Iran and the regime will remain in power for another 20 or 30 years and 70 million Iranians will become radicalized."

"I know," President Bush answered.

"But does Vice President Cheney know?" asked Soroush.

The president chuckled and walked away.

Absolutely nothing.

GravatarOh jeez. Here we go again, with Michael Gordon transcibing the lies of the Bush administration.

Are you ready for another war?

WASHINGTON, Feb. 9 — The most lethal weapon directed against American troops in Iraq is an explosive-packed cylinder that United States intelligence asserts is being supplied by Iran.

The assertion of an Iranian role in supplying the device to Shiite militias reflects broad agreement among American intelligence agencies, although officials acknowledge that the picture is not entirely complete.

Gravatar
"This is very dangerous. Nobody feels secure any more because nobody can hide behind international law," he said.

So now we're getting lessons on democracy from Russia. Good grief.

Wonder what our Rissian specialist in the State Dept. thinks about that?

Gravatar"Iraq War Vet Files Papers to Recall McCain

I've just heard from a source that there is an effort in place to recall John McCain in Arizona. The papers have been filed by an Iraq war veteran in Phoenix. His name is Leonard Clark and he refers to himself as "that damn liberal."

I also hear he is not just messing around, but deadly serious about getting "his comrades" safely out of a war that is "John McCain's attempt to fight Vietnam over again." I will be contacting him and updating you.

Will it go anywhere? We don't know yet. But I am told a signature-gathering effort is now set to begin."

GravatarI hate that "3rd party candidate to siphon away votes" bit. It is pure DLC propaganda and if you buy it, then you buy that we are stuck whith only the preselected canditates. In other words, the electoral process is a sham and isn't worth bothering with. We have to be able to run alternative candidates if we are handed crap. Say the Dems run Hillary and Joe and the repugs run Guiliani ahd Browshirt. You stuck with that or can we run an alternative? Remember, Teddy Roosevelt was an alternative candidate. We must preserve that option.

Deadliest Bomb in Iraq Is Made by Iran, U.S. Says

GravatarSee: NADER, Ralph, 2000

You see him. In spite of "Jews for Buchannon" and votes tossed from several black districts, Gore still had more votes. The Dems want to blame Nader but it's a lie. It was a stolen election and Gore didn't have the balls to fight it. Next time (and every time) you repeat that lie, kick youself in the ankle because that's exactly what you are doing anyway. We do not have to settle for candidtaes pre-selected in the back rooms of the corporate partys. Alternative cnadidates bring reality to the dabates and if your vote for 'em, they might even win. At very least they put pressure on the Dems not to run crap candidates.

GravatarJProle,

In the real world we are stuck with a conundrum of lesser evil voting.......but feel free to vote for nader as a president guliani could in no way shape or form be worse than Hillary.

Mayhaps we get a chance to get some shit fixed up, unlisting the ship of state as it were..........
.

GravatarThe media, even today, will do its best to hobble the candidacies of EVERY major Party Contender, they've established a patteren.

GravatarPsychologically speaking, I think McCain really doesn't 'get' that Americans have rejected the war in Iraq and just want to get out. He was a POW during the years when America was going through its 5 stages of loss over Vietnam, so this is *not* a deju vu to him. He's never seen it before.

GravatarDon't concede powerlessness in advance. The possiblitity of alternatives gives us power.

GravatarWhat is the Cable News networks love affair with the ANS story?

Jesus, why don't they just post all her playboy pictures on their shows and get it over with.

GravatarWASHINGTON, Feb. 9 — The most lethal weapon directed against American troops in Iraq is an explosive-packed cylinder that United States intelligence ASSERTS is being supplied by Iran.

Is this the same "intelligence" that got us into this fucking mess in the first place?

So we go in for explosive packed cylinders and stay for the "freedom on the march, building school thing"?

Gravatar"Will it go anywhere? We don't know yet. But I am told a signature-gathering effort is now set to begin."

Well it won't succeed but it might more negative publicity down on McCain. So, good idea.

Gravataromg....the greenies are back.

just shoot me.

GravatarThere is no way a third-party candidate can get enough momentum or money to win the presidency at this point.

GravatarJust watching D'Souza on Book TV. Do you know when he decided liberal college culture had to be destroyed (his words)? When his college professors were rude to him at a cocktail party. I shit ye not. That is what he just said.

Would somebody just throw a big cocktail party for these conservative assholes and be nice to them so the can feel like big men? Maybe they will shut up.

Gravatar"Jews for Buchanan" were mostly the result of the butterfly ballot in Palm Beach County. Nader got 95,000 votes in FL that should have gone to Gore.
Untruth that.

Gravatarwill do its best to hobble the candidacies of EVERY major Party Contender, they've established a patteren.

Not exactly, they'll probably support a republic party candidate, being that the media is owned by, people sympathetic with republic party goals.

Wow!

That's a very interesting analysis, and I think you are correct.

Nice job!

GravatarOh, here's a righteous rant!

Edwards did the right thing. People who work for him have a right to their opinion, especially if that opinion was expressed before they were hired. If we can consider ideologues like John Roberts and Antonin Scalia for the goddamn Supreme Court, certainly a couple of people who disapprove of some of the teachings of the Catholic Church should be able to work for the candidate they think can reverse the damage of the lying--and Bible quoting--cabal that sits in the White House, a cabal that managed, incidentally, to appeal to many right-leaning Catholics.

And left-leaning Catholics? The kind that engage in charity, poverty eradication, Habitat for Humanity, Witness For Peace, liberation theology---would they really let the free opinions of two young bloggers prevent them from voting for a candidate that actually wants to talk about the primary subject of the Scriptures, which is charity? Does Bill Donahue or these pundits really believe enlightened Catholics are that stupid?

This 'controversy', like the Nancy Pelosi airplane 'scandal,' is Rove-ism in its purest form, the political equivalent of Anna Nicole Smith's death, over which I'm sure the GOP is kicking themselves for not having engineered. When Congress should be debating the greatest foreign policy disaster in American history, discussing the hard facts of how to bring our troops home, and the media should be bringing these crucial analyses into the every living room in America, one little GOP pissant can introduce some nonsense about the size of a plane and insure that every news show in the country will blow a minimum of 60 seconds on it.

GravatarFemale President for Havard.

It only took 371 years.

GravatarThe possiblitity of alternatives gives us power.

What power would that be?

GravatarWhat is the Cable News networks love affair with the ANS story?

People are drawn to it, but it's not REALLY news.

GravatarThere is no way a third-party candidate can get enough momentum or money to win the presidency at this point.

Depends who it is. Moyers/Webb would kick ass. No, I'm not a Nader loyalist, just someone who refuses to settle for shit.

Gravatarjust shoot me.

In the face w/,
white paste or bird shot?

GravatarWould somebody just throw a big cocktail party for these conservative assholes and be nice to them so the can feel like big men? Maybe they will shut up.
Troutski

Right.

Then they can carry on about liberals being wimps who won't stand up for their principles or confront people who disagree with them.

Or something... it hardly matters what.

GravatarWell, whoever the Dem candidate is, I predict Webb will be the Veep.

GravatarThe possiblitity of alternatives gives us power.

What power would that be?

It would be the power to negotiate a platform and hold them to it "or else we vote for the alternative". If you have no negotiating power, you are irrelelvant and the Dems will and do take you for granted.

GravatarNot exactly, they'll probably support a republic party candidate, being that the media is owned by, people sympathetic with republic party goals.

Gore, in a repeat of a 2006 interview w/Terri Gross yesterday, said felt his choices in 2000 were between the rule of law and outright revolution...he chose the less violent way and let the vote fraud stand...

which proves to me only one thing: if you commit a big enough crime--say, stealing the whole fucking country outright-- you are gonna be immune from prosecution; this is the political analog of the banking maxim of owing so much the banks can't let you fail...

The recall election is generally is held simultaneously with an election for the official's successor.

The recall ballot simply asks voters if the official in question should be recalled, and if a majority of voters vote "yes," the office is declared vacant.
