I'MMA LET YOU FINISH

Gravataraha

GravatarMedia whores.

Gravatarbye for now

Gravatarbburton@barackobama.com to kvetch (politely, please; it works better) about Obama and FISA.

Gravatarpower abuser = serial wanker?

GravatarJournalists should have a strict code of ethics.

Basically, you should never get paid by anyone you are covering.

Nor should you hobnob with them on a social basis.

I know that sounds crazeeee.

GravatarDidn't some MSM mealy-mouthed piece of shit with no accountability just kick the bucket? What was his name?

GravatarOBAMA '08

Gravatarwell, I suppose I shouldn't be paying the yard man "under the table" either, but who's the worse off for it? I think this whole "rules" thing is fine for the children, but we can be left with our best judgement as we are, after all, adults.

Who exactly is this Broder again?

GravatarAre we still bitching about whatever it is people are pretending to believe Obama has done wrong?

GravatarI think it's actually going to rain here.

YAY!!
fourlegsgood, shambler | Homepage | 06.21.08 - 3:55 pm |

How unnatural.

GravatarIt's inconceivable that the Dean of Washington journalism, David Broder, broke the law!

Inconceivable!

Gravatarfrom below

Not that that means anything, but it's not like the guy was a corporate litigator.
Brooklyn Girl, shady dame

GMTA

Of course the rethugs are going to attempt to get up to no good. But it's not like Obama is going to be sitting there fat, dumb and happy singing disney tunes.

Gravatarmaybe we could sort it all out at a blogger's ethics conference.

GravatarQuis custodiet ipsos custodes?

The problem of a democratic republic, in a nutshell.

GravatarAre we still bitching about whatever it is people are pretending to believe Obama has done wrong?
The Old Man From Scene 24

No, now we are bitching about what Broder actually HAS done wrong.

GravatarNo, now we are bitching about what Broder actually HAS done wrong.

oh goody!

GravatarBut it's not like Obama is going to be sitting there fat, dumb and happy singing disney tunes.

Or reading "The Pet Goat."

GravatarBroder's penile pump isn't just battery powered. He ponied up for the AC version.

GravatarHow unnatural.

Yep.

We could really, really use the rain.

And a break from this heatwave.

GravatarLast month he was a muslim, then the was a Christian, last week he was a muslim...

...Now the WaPo says his Christioanity is a problem

GravatarWell, time to go out and do stuff.

GravatarHow unnatural.

August came early this year. And now it won't go away,.

GravatarLast month he was a muslim, then the was a Christian, last week he was a muslim...

Where are all these magnifying glass articles on McCain? We demand that he gets equal treatment from the media.

GravatarAugust came early this year. And now it won't go away,.

It's making me cry.

Seriously.

GravatarWhoops, here's the quote

Still, some religious leaders wonder whether Obama's Christian-focused outreach might alienate Jewish and Muslim voters, for example, not to mention the Democratic Party's large secular wing.

GravatarThe dear departed Saint Russert got $50,0000-$60,000 per speaking engagement, first class tickets acceptable, but private jet preferable.

GravatarAre we still bitching about whatever it is people are pretending to believe Obama has done wrong?

I am sorry. Where should I turn in my 4th Amendment protections?

GravatarWhere are all these magnifying glass articles on McCain? We demand that he gets equal treatment from the media.

I think we may have to look to the Arizona press for those articles.

Then do our bit to make sure they get wide dissemination.

GravatarThe dear departed Saint Russert got $50,0000-$60,000 per speaking engagement, first class tickets acceptable, but private jet preferable.

Hmm. I think I just got a career plan...

GravatarThe dear departed Saint Russert got $50,0000-$60,000 per speaking engagement, first class tickets acceptable, but private jet preferable.

Hmm. I think I just got a career plan...

There was a rather nauseating story about Russert and one of his BFFs in Slate this week.

GravatarWhere should I turn in my 4th Amendment protections?

What are you referring to?

GravatarAugust came early this year. And now it won't go away,.

It's making me cry.

There's got to be a way to get you back up north.

GravatarNo, keep them.

U may need them.

Then I will demand that Obama stand up for them and condemn him for failing to take the lead.

GravatarPoor Broder is embarassed by the embarassment.

Circular jerk.

GravatarWhoops, here's the quote

Still, some religious leaders wonder whether Obama's Christian-focused outreach might alienate Jewish and Muslim voters, for example, not to mention the Democratic Party's large secular wing.

I don't give a fuck who he reaches out to as long as he doesn't try to make me a christian.

GravatarThen I will demand that Obama stand up for them and condemn him for failing to take the lead.

Well, that's okay with me.

As long as we condemn everyone else for not standing up as well.

I include Hillary in that. She's not busy now. Can't she lend a hand?

GravatarCheney must be heart broken that he can no longer go to Russert to have his cock sucked.

GravatarWhere are all these magnifying glass articles on McCain?
Nothing to see there. He is a straight shooter.

GravatarOh THAT weenie....
Bobbie Markowitz

yep. but I repaired what appeared to be a small typo in your depiction.

GravatarWhat are you referring to?

What I am bitching about that people are pretending to believe Obama has done wrong. My 4th Amendment protections.

GravatarObama's been consistently against the immunity, and says he will try and remove it from the bill when it gets to the Senate. What more do people want from him?

GravatarOh...Wait a minute! I'm a Christian!

GravatarWhat I am bitching about that people are pretending to believe Obama has done wrong. My 4th Amendment protections.

You might clarify that a bit. What's the connection between the two sentences above?

Gravatarand says he will try and remove it from the bill when it gets to the Senate.

He supports the compromise and intends to vote for it next week.

GravatarNo humor for me, sleep would be nice. I don't get much of that.

GravatarI suspect that the media is going to set a record this year with regards to passing concern trolling off as "reporting".

GravatarHe supports the compromise and intends to vote for it next week.

He said he supports it EXCEPT for the immunity.

GravatarHICA!

Have a great rest of day!

GravatarJeffraham - iz birfday?

GravatarRead Greenwald. It's not just about immunity, the bill makes legal bypassing the FISA court entirely making legal exactly what was wrong with the current regime's actions.

Hillary probably will not strongly go against Obama, the leader the Democratic Party. Though I strongly wish she would. If nothing else, it would be perceived as sour grapes. Maybe Dodd should take the lead on this one.

GravatarIced coffee...

Jeffraham, you're a genius. Thanks!

GravatarWhoops, here's the quote

Still, some religious leaders wonder whether Obama's Christian-focused outreach might alienate Jewish and Muslim voters, for example, not to mention the Democratic Party's large secular wing.

Well, Scott Simon assured me today that John McCain is not a racist, so Obama must be a racist for claiming racism will be raised against him in this race, and Simon concluded that could only mean McCain would bring it up, and since McCain wouldn't do that, Obama must be a racist because now no one can point out that Obama's black.

So when Obama points out that he's black, it's racism.

Did I mention I need a new radio now?

GravatarKen Silverstein: David Broder’s and Bob Woodward’s Lame Alibis

http://harpers.org/archive/2008/...06/hbc- 90003124

a good read!

GravatarYou might clarify that a bit.

I am not pretending to believe Obama did something wrong. He did something wrong. I believe that. I am not pretending to believe that. So I think I might want to continue bitching about it. Because I expect better from Obama. Apprently I will not get better from Obama, so I must be content with bitching about it.

But really it was the dismissal of the whole discussion as some sort of faux outrage.

GravatarWhere are all these magnifying glass articles on McCain?
We cunt find anything wrong with McCain.

She figures she's been demonized enough.

I guess enough is enough.

GravatarThe media tells me...

Obama at 51% is good news for Republicans. He's really in trouble with voting block ______ .

McCain at 36% is popular. Everybody loves the straight shooter.

GravatarI'm outraged at the lack of faux outrage!

GravatarWe cunt find anything wrong with McCain.

TWAT you say?

GravatarShe figures she's been demonized enough.

Well, there's the withdrawal stage to go through first. So it can't stop right yet.

GravatarDodd's "favorable mortgage terms" don't make him squeaky-clean, either.

GravatarHappy birfday, Jeffraham. Hope the kittehs baked you a cake in the shape of a scooter.

Gravatarhippos, birdies, and ewes to Jeffraham Prestonian and his caffeinated scoot.

Gravatar Though I strongly wish she would. If nothing else, it would be perceived as sour grapes.

If she would go in and lead a filibuster against the immunity provisions that would be leadership and wouldn't be going against Obama.

I would applaud her.

Nothing wrong with her asserting a little leadership in the senate.

GravatarHappy Birthday, JP!

GravatarI'm outraged at the lack of faux outrage!

I'm quasi outraged at your ersatz outrage about the lack of faux outrage.

GravatarShe figures she's been demonized enough.

Eh, you want a friend in Washington, get a dog. She was happy enough to be a warrior for the working class when it meant she might win the nomination.

Now? What's stopping her? Who else is harmed by this bill except the working class and all those people who voted for her?

GravatarI would applaud her.

Nothing wrong with her asserting a little leadership in the senate.
fourlegsgood, shambler

A lot of people, unfortunately, wouldn't see it that way.

GravatarWell, there's the withdrawal stage to go through first. So it can't stop right yet.

If that's the standard, nobody gets to speak.

Lots of people with money get "favorable mortgage terms." It's hardly corruption, even among public officials who, like Dodd, are usually very well off.

Gravatarespecially since yesterday Obama said he would work int he Senate to remove the immunity from the bill.

She could be the public face of that effort.

GravatarShorter Broder: My bad.

GravatarOkay, really leaving now.

Happy Birthday jeffraham.

I'm going to go do a rain dance.

GravatarA lot of people, unfortunately, wouldn't see it that way.

I'm seeing a couple of posts here that show me that that is not the case.

GravatarNo one is mad at her right now.
fourlegsgood, shambler

Especially if she steps up and takes the fall for other's decisions.

GravatarA lot of people, unfortunately, wouldn't see it that way.

The only people who would get mad at Hillary for working against FISA are the ones trying to blame every ill that befalls the democratic party on Obama. They simply don't believe any democrat any where should do anything that might help the party while he's in charge unless he specifically orders it.

GravatarReid supports it, but for the immunity provision. So what. What does that mean. Nothing without action. But we get meaningless words. there are 68 senators planning on voting for it as is. So is Obama going to support a filibuster? That is nothing. And that is what I am bitching about. Saying he'll work to remove it. Saying he'll support a filibuster. Those mean nothing and are no example of presidential leadership. When he tells 49 Democratic senators to get behind the filibuster and refuse to accept this compromise, then he'll be doing what he can to strip out the immunity.

GravatarI disagree with that.

No one is mad at her right now.
fourlegsgood, shambler

I'm seeing a couple of posts here that show me that that is not the case.

GravatarNot that anyone in here cares, but contrary to fears, they've rebuilt the Blue Moon Saloon in Divide, Montana which burned down a couple years ago. Divide is a decent rifle shot from the Big Hole River, which, despite great expectations of a massive salmon fly hatch, fished very poorly the past two days. Ad posted on the bulletin board of the Blue Moon:

GravatarSoprano,
Late and from below. Gotta go!

It was Mussolini's definition.
Soprano, sempre libera

Mussolini defined fascism as being a collectivistic ideology in opposition to socialism, classical liberalism, democracy and individualism. He wrote in The Doctrine of Fascism:

Anti-individualistic, the fascist conception of life stresses the importance of the State and accepts the individual only insofar as his interests coincide with those of the State, which stands for the conscience and the universal will of man as a historic entity.... The fascist conception of the State is all-embracing; outside of it no human or spiritual values can exist, much less have value.... Fascism is therefore opposed to that form of democracy which equates a nation to the majority, lowering it to the level of the largest number.... We are free to believe that this is the century of authority, a century tending to the 'right', a Fascist century. If the nineteenth century was the century of the individual we are free to believe that this is the 'collective' century, and therefore the century of the State.[16]

Since Mussolini, there have been many conflicting definitions of the term fascism. Former Columbia University Professor Robert O. Paxton has written that...

GravatarAh, Mike.

Hillary should do this. She shouldn't do that. LOL!

Enjoy your victory, possums.

GravatarShe could be the public face of that effort.
fourlegsgood, shambler | Homepage | 06.21.08 - 4:22 pm | #

Definitely, But, knowing the Clintons, she'll want something in return for that.

Or am I the only who thinks it's a coincidence that, after Charles Rangel worked to get Nita Loewy to step aside so that Hillary could run for the Senate, Bill decided to move his entire operation to Harlem, which just happens to be Rangel's district? Was Rangel Hillary's BFF simply because he likes her?

Please.

Both the Clintons operate strictly from the principle of WIIFM.
