I like this one too from McClatchy:
The U.S. military dropped 40,000 pounds of explosives southeast of Baghdad on Thursday in a series of airstrikes that underscored the tenuousness of U.S. progress against Islamic extremists in Iraq.
The targets were near the town of Arab Jabour, a Sunni Muslim-dominated district on Baghdad's outskirts that American officials recently held up as a security success and an example of how local Sunni tribesmen known as "concerned local citizens" had turned against al Qaida in Iraq.
Are we winning yet?

Hire someone.
Seriously, getting a chainsaw capable of cutting up large hunks of oak tree is going to fairly expensive. (You are going to need at least an 18 inch model and 24 inch would be better) Then you are going to have to split the wood. Unless you are superman, doing this with a wedge and a sledge is not for the faint of heart. A log splitter is the answer - that is another $1000 or so. You could probably rent one for a 100-200 dollars. So, 200 for a saw, 200 to rent a log splitter plus all of the work: hire someone.

None of the political goals of "the surge" have been met. And the reduction in the violence in Baghdad and Iraq is more due to the balkanization of Kurds, Sunnis and Shia into more homogeneous enclaves than to any military effort by the US.
And yet, Bobo, Kristol and the MSM in general attempt over and over to convince America that "the surge" has been a success.
Republican Mitt Romney, who has embraced Michigan as the heart of his bid to revive his campaign, was greeted by a crowd of no more than 150 people at Warren's Macomb Community College Friday in a space set up for an audience twice that size.
