more from the 'whoever could have imagined' file -- via radaronline:
Gangs of Iraq
Desperate to shore up its flagging ranks, the military is quietly enlisting thousands of active gang members and shipping them to Iraq. Will a brutal murder finally wake up the Pentagon?
A ghost army of gangbangers presents a terrifying challenge for the military. It is "setting the stage for a disaster," says one longtime military advisor.
Lax enlistment standards have inadvertently allowed known members of the Crips, Bloods, Latin Kings, and various white supremacist groups to join the military.
With the unintended help of the U.S. Army, the Gangster Disciples are extending their reach worldwide.
I dont know about a fourth branch, but I can show you my third branch.

Bill Whatcott loves children and he loves truth. He believes children have the God given right to have a mother and father and not have to be indoctrinated into embracing homosexuality by our public schools and media. Mayor Stephen Mandel superimposed between the buttocks of two naked sodomites picture right. Mayor Mandel was parade marshal for Edmonton’s homosexual pride parade. Mayor Mandel has used his office to promote Orwellian restrictions on free speech by championing “hate crime” protection for sodomites. This new class of “crime?” has been effective in bullying conservatives and especially Christians into silence when it comes to criticizing the dangerous, disease spreading and perverse sexual practices of homosexuals. Bill Whatcott sees “hate crimes” protections for homosexuality as an assault on religious and civil liberties. Homosexuality is wrong and as your Mayor, Bill Whatcott is committed to denouncing homosexuality, warning young people about the consequences of indulging in the practice and calling on those trapped in the homosexual lifestyle to repentance, forgiveness and healing through the shed blood of Jesus Christ."

The question would seem to be how to establish the legality of Cheney's extraordinary position.
In Massachusetts, the Supreme Judicial Court can be asked to opine on constitutional matters in the absence of an instant case. Don't know how one could be constructed to bring the matter. Perhaps Waxman's committee could request a particular document Cheney would withhold, and then sue in federal court?

Ooh, read a little further down...
Your office may have the worst record in the executive branch for safeguarding classified information. As Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald established, I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby, your former Chief of Staff, leaked the identity of a covert CIA operative to several reporters in June 2003. Mr. Libby was convicted in March of perjury, obstruction of justice, and false statements for lying to a grand jury and to FBI agents in order to conceal his role in the leaking of this information.
The prosecution of Mr. Libby also revealed that you apparently misused the declassification process for political reasons. In July 2003, you reportedly instructed Mr. Libby to leak to the media portions of an October 2002 National Intelligence Estimate regarding Saddam Hussein’s purported efforts to develop nuclear weapons. Your selective declassification of this information was apparently made outside the formal declassification process and done as part of a damage-control effort you undertook to defend the Administration’s rationale for going to war in Iraq.

apparently, as I was feverishly hammering this out everybody fled up the stairs. So I'll post it once more and then drop it.
I didn't mean YOUR nightmare scenarios, I meant the ones in the Official Narrative.
As for me not reading enough history ...
OK, fair enough, but that's not what you said initially. You said all the nightmare scenarios. And I would suggest that even the official narratives have hinted at worse things than what has already happened that could happen when we pull out. And I'm sorry to impugn you reading of history, but if you have read enough of it, then I'm sure you yourself will have no difficulty imagining where this thing could likely to go.
As I said above, I support an essentially complete withdrawal. But that does not mean that I believe that every assertion of fact that supports the case for complete withdrawal is true. And the oft-repeated idea that "It's already gotten as bad as it could get and we're only making it worse" is one of those statements that I really, really don't believe. It seemed to me that that was exactly what you were saying. If I was wrong about that, my apologies.
And I should add that it's not that that statement really bugs me because it argues for withdrawal, since I support withdrawal. It's that that statement in my mind leaves the door open for some denials down the road of just what a bad thing we did by invading Iraq. It is very easy for me to imagine a situation where we kind of just stop paying attention as much as possible once our troops are gone, and fail to acknowledge as a nation the abject genocidal horror we will have left in our wake.

why cannot even one dem candidate say that the republics have been and are about subverting the ideals of democracy espoused by our founding fathers?
Because, sad to say, the Dems by and large have not a single spine between them.
They caved after the stolen-in-plain-sight 2000 election, and they've been caving pretty much ever since.
Ooh -- they blocked the nomination of Linda Chavez. Total victory is ours, comrades.
Sorry to keep flogging this point, but it has to be said.
And if anybody thinks Hillary is just the woman to fix this problem, I've got some bridgefront property in Brooklyn I'm willing to unload cheap.

Amendment to the federal budget:
"use of Number One Observatory Circle is restricted to individuals exercising powers described under Article II of the Constitution"
Culture of Truth
Fixed your Typo.
Article II
Section 1. The executive power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his office during the term of four years, and, together with the Vice President, chosen for the same term, be elected, as follows:
Each state shall appoint, in such manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a number of electors, equal to the whole number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or person holding an office of trust or profit under the United States, shall be appointed an elector.
Section 4. The President, Vice President and all civil officers of the United States, shall be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of, treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.

I understand that the NYT Magazine piece on Edwards was not well received by some in his camp. I actually thought it portrayed Edwards pretty well as a champion of the poor, though he's obviously a rich man. So was FDR. I, like others, don't understand why Edwards isn't getting more attention. Yeah, he voted for the AUMF, but he was courageous enough to say it was a mistake.
All that aside, I'd still prefer if Mr. Gore would come to the rescue. But first, let's kick Cheney to the curb. How is it that Mr. Kucinich's motion to impeach isn't getting more support? Where are the leaders? Where are the Democrats with moral conviction and courage? Somebody please step to the front.

Guardian has a headline that "Nader to Run Again." I voted for him in 2000 but at this points he's as welcome as the return of typhus or Muhammed Ali climbing back into the ring. Sad, revolting and sick.

Since Cheney has now attempted to assert that Vice President is somehow "not a member of the Executive Branch" and therefore not subject to security oversight requirements, we can skip Impeachment and go directly to an immediate Federal arrest for crimes against the state, or, if words, law, or meaning itself are any longer to have any force whatsoever, then at a minimum removal from office for being mentally incompetent, since Vice President is manifestly a p;art of the Executive Branch and always has been merely by definition. Thus, after his forcible arrest, we, that is, the People of the United States, can also hold Cheney under his own rules, that is, indefinitely, without charges, and without any right to Habeas.

I've done the research, and the Office of the Vice President doesn't have to answer to anyone about anything. And it can have its own national security staff, and its own CIA. Nothing to see here, folks. Move along.

"Most countries have safeguards to protect the independence of the judiciary from the executive, such as the impossibility of the executive to dismiss a judge. Similar safeguards may apply to other categories of government employees, in order to allow them to conduct their functions without undue political pressure. In return, judges and government employees may be expected not to take part in active politics themselves. In the United States the Congress has all the power and the sole responsibility of removal by means of impeachment." -Wikkipedia

Okay then.
I guess he won't need that Secret Service detail, or access to classified information, or any other privileges associated with being in the executive branch.
Oh, and he certainly won't need that alleged immunity from prosecution (prior to impeachment of course) that the executive branch has lately asserted.
