Gummo, Monsieur's Infinity Towers, purchased in 1976, are still fully functional and deliver nice sound quality. You might not enjoy them if you like a lot of bass, but higher frequencies are very good.

FYI - If you don't have a local dollar store (ours has USB cable all the time), Amazon.com has them dirt-cheap - like .50 each. Less than $5 with the mail shipping for any length you need.

And the nice thang about Walgreens photo service: I can send the photos to be printed in any of their stores, anywhere. So sharing w/family and friends gets even easier.

My Apple Laser Writer was used when I got it.
My only gripe is that OS X and the Mac I'm using no longer supports the Apple Serial Port.
So, all my printing needs are handled by my Mac OS 9 machine.

It kinda sucks. But we have a (very) small box in the kitchen for when cooking or washing dishes; that and the computer speakers are it for now.
I have my eye on a relatively inexpensive old-fashioned stereo Onkyo receiver at B&H (have no need for 5 channels or 7 channels or a thousand channels), but that'll have to wait a week or two.

I have a huge need for printers, as we are severely limited at work by budget constraints as to how many copies we can print. The Brother we have is good for doing massive printouts.
I loved my ColorStyleWriter 2400 at the time, but I'm deep into Snow Leopard now.

Well my experience of the machine is all of about 3 hours old, but so far I'm very pleased!
I'm happy with my Canon printer. Quiet and fast.
I knew a lady who was in her late 50s before she got up to speed on the 'tubes, and she had a habit of printing out every webpage she thought was interesting.

We have an HP 5800 that's still going strong. It's not as good for doing large scale printing like the Brother is, but it does pretty well for other things. We also have an Epson dedicated photo printer, and it's very nice.
Totally agree that privatizing abortion funding would delegitimize the procedure. It's a shitty trade to have to make. But the fight won't go away, and it seems like it would be a good way to ensure access to anyone who needs an abortion.

I don't print all that much, but I've noticed mailing labels in a machine-readable font like Verdana seem to reach destinations more quickly.
Jeffraham, my mother and her friends embraced the Web nearly a decade ago. All in their 70s and 80s, they found that weather and health problems were no longer a hindrance to socializing, bragging about grandkids, playing games, etc.
I find that my love for Verdana is odd.

The 4680 is definitely a home machine, for printing a couple of pages at a time. But it seems well-designed for that purpose.
I might print out copies of Monthly bills I pay online in case I need to establish a paper trail. I might print out cards, if the software still worked.
Also, I don't think it would a complete surrender to create a private abortion fund. Once a public option were established, I think it would be possible to work several classes of abortion back in legislatively.
Fellow I know in New Jersey does that with email. On a laser printer, too.
I found a free OS X app, Papparazi! that will save an entire web page, no matter how long/big.
Useful in some not often encountered instances.

My favorite font is New Century Schoolbook.
I personally find it very readable even in smaller point sizes.
It's serifed, but not to the point of being distracting.
For sans serif, either Helvetica or Arial.

It prints the ZIP+4 barcode in any of the P.O. approved areas, as well as the POSTNET barcode on envelopes.
Those two barcodes will have your letters flying through the scanners all but untouched by human hands until the letter carrier delivers it.
It is well worth the modest US$13.00 shareware fee.
