How many times have I mistakenly typed "Artios" for "Atrios"? It's been awhile, though, and so I had no idea this joke site had been created. A *very* good forgery (but then, all you needed to do was to copy the source from the real Eschaton and then add your "Goodbye!" post).

Yeah, I also heard that billman was quitting, talkingpiontsmemo is shutting down, and calpudnit has taken a vow of incommunicado.

Now this is a decent practical joke. Subtle, well done, not a lot of actual work.

Artios (tm) is a good name for a breakfast cereal. Multi-colored nutrition-packed nuggets which can be either eaten or used for art pieces. Pointillism never died.

Now, if we can just get the Chimperor and his puppetmasters and thugs to resign and turn themselves in for judgement at The Hague, the world will be a better place.

See ya around, Artios. I hear President Kerry's going to need a few former gym teachers in his Cabinet. I was getting bored with your insightful and incisive posts, anyway.

another poor wingnut cracks under the pressure of seeing his Chimperor fail miserably and has to create his own alternate reality as a pathetic means of coping.
so sad, so veddy veddy sad.

Ah, you didn't fool me for a minute. However, I had to take an ambulance ride to Hahnemann for my heart, and I told them to bill you.

I don't get it. Who cares who you are? I heard that you were a teacher, or someone in public that could be impacted if .... WHAT? That you're a Liberal? I mean progressive? That you have something to say, or, more accurately, notice what others say and do? For this you hide? And are, or feel threatened?
I don't get it. Isn't this the land of the Free? The home of the Brave?

Atrios, you're going to have to explain yourself better than that. Your blog is not a "publication" like Rosie calling it quits with her magazine. You built a community here, with an incredible number of loyal readers.
Your explanation is inadequate. You owe your readers more context. Context is what blogging is all about.

TNodd tells me that Newton was okay. Stayed in the Sheraton that straddles I-90--his room was right over the train tracks. Bogus.
