Some analysts in Nevada say Edwards's message is a tough sell in the state. David Damore, an associate political science professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, said Edwards's primary message - helping the downtrodden and excoriating corporate America - "doesn't really resonate here."
"This is a libertarian state. To be blunt, we don't care about poor people, and we don't give anything to social services," Damore said.
Tell me again how this is a nation founded on Judeo Christian values. Tell me again how we're the best country in the history of the earth. Explain to me how it is we get to look down our noses at other countries struggling w/poverty. I would love to put that statement on some buildboards around Nevaaaaaada.
The cult's messiah was killed on day one of the action against them. Assuming he's not back by Monday, that'll probably be the end of it.

Steve's movie reviews:
CLOVERFIELD
Since there are no interesting characters whatsoever, I rooted for the monster, which is hard to do of course since you basically never see it. Otherwise, with the exception of one striking image -- the sheared off head of the Statue of Liberty lying smashed on a lower Manhattan street --it's a really crappy mismash of the 90s Hollywood Godzilla remake and the Blair Witch Project (like the latter, the cinematography seems to have been the work of a hyperactive seal with a camera strapped to its head).

Time for us Liberals to rejoice, more typecasting and generalizations from a right wing conservative fundamentalist christofacist repuke nutcase.
"This is a libertarian state. To be blunt, we don't care about poor people, and we don't give anything to social services," Damore said.
Hillary is getting big applause by trashing Countrywide's Angel of Compensation.
I think Edwards pitch is badly made though and it resonates poorly because it does not distinguish among types of corporate behavior.

I think one of the defined characteristics of the "surge" is that if that could and should and would be done why in the *uck wasn't it done a long assed time ago ... oh wait I already know ... this war (read: slaughter of innocent people and blanket bombing of their sovereign country, wasn't done for any issue of United States security, it was to "improve" the "economies" of the already wealthy in this country while devastating the total wealth of all citizens. (Oh then there's that little items of stealing somethng that isnt your's because you have a history of total failure at anything you have done and it worked out so well they made you and your murdering daddy president
