The Steelers have several major needs along their offensive line, and they most likely draft into the deep tackle class. They love Chris Williams, Jeff Otah and Cherilus, and hope at least one of them is still on the board here. They would also love to add cornerback Aqib Talib or Antoine Cason for a secondary that gave up too many big plays last fall. They would then address the offensive line in the second and third rounds with multiple selections.

Sure.
Iranians aren't Arabs. We may call it the Persian Gulf but the Saudis call it the Arabian Gulf. What a complicated mess that region is. Shias, Sunnis, Arabs, Persians...

Fifty years ago or so, there were people who huffed and puffed against the UN. They worried about calls for a world government. It was the "liberals" who were espousing the ideas of giving away our american ideals to the tyranny of an authoritarian ruling regime. So what do we have now? We have a world-wide authoritarian ruling regime that imposes its "freedoms" on arabs and persians. Odd that.

how about the cost (in trillions) then tying it to how 35 million americans go to bed hungry most every night...and how teh taliban is powerful enough in afghanistan to negotiate...how the INFLATION of FOOD and ENERGY costs is typical rightwing: it comes on the last year of their administration

Pastor Roger Byrd said that he just wanted to get people thinking. So last Thursday, he put a new message on the sign at the Jonesville Church of God.
It reads: "Obama, Osama, hmm, are they brothers?"
Byrd said that the message wasn't meant to be racial or political.
"It's simply to cause people to realize and to see what possibly could happen if we were to get someone in there that does not believe in Jesus Christ," he said.
When asked if he believes that Barack Obama is Muslim, Byrd said, "I don't know. See it asks a question: Are they brothers? In other words, is he Muslim ? I don't know. He says he's not. I hope he's not. But I don't know. And it's just something to try to stir people's minds. It was never intended to hurt feelings or to offend anybody."
We've passed the total for the last two months, and equaled January's total.

Iraq is an intractable situation, because there are too many competing armed groups, willing to fight, with too many numbers and weapons. It is not a place where we can do good in a lasting way right now.
The U.S. troops who are dying there are not dying for a good cause, by any definition, any longer- they are dying for a President's vanity, or for the war planners' idiocy, or the war planners' stubbornness.

it's different now since we've morphed into bombing civilian neighborhoods indiscriminately like Russia did/does to Chechnya, LBJ and Nixon did to all of Vietnam, and Israel does to Palestine - whenever they want to for any reason at all or none, with ZERO regard for innocents and whether or not any so-called terrorists (who are desperately trying to defend their own neighborhoods and towns) are present.
The occupying nation loses its soul and loses its rationality leaving it stupid and blind and heartless, literally inviting the same type atrocities to be visited upon itself.
Yes, inviting!

We're actively in the mess and killing Iraqis pointlessly (American soldiers getting killed by them, just as pointlessly) until the Maliki puppetocracy falls.
IOW, until al-Sadr wins and becomes the Shiite unity leader.
Then there's an American military fall back to safe haven zones and a short'n'brutal Shiite lesson given to the Sunnis that they're the minority.
And then this stupid adventure ends.

One could argue (and some of us did, all along) that the 'six more months' talk was all just cushioning the blow. Which blow? The blow that would come when one day we all realized that the policy was *always* to stay in Iraq forever.
And here we are.
It's all conveniently swallowed by the angst over the Presidential race. (Again, as predicted. By the dirty fucking hippies.)
So now that we're all on the same page, what do we do after we've acknowledged that the US is a military empire? Voting for Obama won't change it. What will?
