Dear Barack,
Since you want to control the message completely, will you please make some new commercials to broadcast in Michigan?
I would like to see some that address these issues.
1. Impugning anyone's character for making political pawns over the wounded troops when the Republicans have done such a poor job of caring for them: in theater - citing the 16 who have been killed by shoddy electrical work, the hundreds sickened by poor sanitary conditions, the hundreds killed because proper equipment was not provided in time - and the miserable aftercare that continues!
2. Calling McLame's name and his policies out as being out of touch and basically insane when it comes to the complexity of the situation in Iraq and Afghanistan. (If you need help, see JMM for his timeline and the quotes located there)
3. Acquaint America with the fact that we are now on the hook for 3 TRILLION dollars for this war, 1.3 TRILLION dollars for the banking crisis, and we have no means to pay for this because we have sent all of our jobs overseas and the Republicans continue to rape our economy.
4. The Republicans, just this week, have stopped three measures that would have significantly reduced energy prices: releasing oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, closing the Enron loophole for Oil Futures Trading, and increasing the subsidy to families to pay for the increased cost of energy for their homes - a problem in the South now and one that will prove to be deadly in the North when winter arrives.
Please take this issues and remind the voters who is speaking for them and who is speaking for the corporations.

All of them that have socialist medicine. The People's Democratic Republic of Korea has trouble because it's a pure Confucianist state run by people with no idea how to govern, who are working frantically on Sinotizing their sweatshops. They may be as capitalist as Vietnam in thirty years. Meanwhile there can be no "black book of Capitalism" because Capitalism simply kills too many people and the people it kills with its ass-coverings and millions of second chances for the few and no second chances for the idiots who work for a living and health care as a privilege simply cannot be counted, either mathematically or in finding names for the nameless.

Honestly, today my lovely, apolitical wife truly surprised me. We were talking as we spent the day together. She is convinced that Obama cannot win because of two factors. Racism and stupidity. She is convinced that a majority of white people will not vote for Barack because he is black. She also believes that the stupidity of the American people is so raging that they will be fooled with the simple and stupid rhetoric that always seems to work.
(And you thought I was cynical?) Her beliefs truly amazed me and I asked her about them. She went on to explain that while we talk interracial happiness, the truth is that whatever we say, the news people are simply favoring McCain because they do not believe that Obama, "Knows his place." (This entire discussion was precipitated because I asked her about the ABC News she was watching Friday night. The JedReport did a take down on this and I was going to tell her about it. She told me that it was biased, but everything on TV is.)
And as for the Stupidity. She replied, "Well, think about it, Bob, enough people voted for Bush last time that he won or at least made it close enough to steal. Their stupidity is the reason we are in this mess."
I just shut up.

Well, have you asked your wife how she gets up in the morning and slaps a smile on her face knowing that stupid people decide our fate? I could use some advice.
I've been aware that we've been sold down the river since oh...
At least by 1972.
This awareness has changed how I view the country.

Can you imagine those words escaping those shy and sweet lips? I am about fell to the ground. Honestly.
Yeah, she's sweet, but she gets it. Lots of people get it.
That's why I'm not in res' camp, that Obama wins in a landslide.
Heck, we were in your 'hood today for dinner, and the table behind us was saying all kinds of shit about Obama.
It isn't "in the bag," as some like to believe.

I mean Ghouliani's son is sueing Duke University for being cut from their golf team.

The Duke golf team? I shudder at the thought.
With the sheer number of spoiled rich kids that populate Duke, I would imagine the Duke golf team is douchbag central.

Yes, but did you answer my question about why Move On is giving them out free and the campaign is *asking* for a donation.
camelot/ tiaras and spandex
I am not affiliated with the Obama campaign (other than as a supporter) but I see a perfectly valid and logical reason for this policy. To get all historical about it, Jefferson put it best: "That which we obtain too cheap we esteem too lightly."
Give away shit for free and Bad Elements will avail themelves of the offer, soak up the supply and throw them all in the sewer. They will not do this if required to pay even a token amount for the items.
I put those who want them to resell on ebay in a few years in the same category.
A genuine supporter on the other hand should have no problem with paying a small sum to support the campaign in exchange for a sticker or button.

The early Stones had a conflict coming out of the blocks.
They had a lead singer in Jagger, but they also had a pretty boy band leader in Brian Jones.

Thank god I'm not alone in that reading. My first thought was "someone captured him? when did that happen?"
