GravatarHe duped foster children in his care into letting him perform "exams" on them to see if they qualified as egg donors.

Count this librul as being way, way too old-fashioned for Klaudt's brand of "family values".

GravatarA model Republican.

Gravatarbeing a Republican means never having to say your sorry for sexually abusing minors.

GravatarIt's the Clenis's fault for creating an atmophere of sexual permissiveness.

GravatarFace of the Republican party.

GravatarPleeeeeeze. Not egg harvesting again.

GravatarWow, this gives new layers of meaning to the phrase "resigning, to spend time with his family".

GravatarHello, 98 visitors.

Gravataryou think that family values story is gonna get legs? HELLs NO! buried in the bowels of teh press...will brian williams report it in his teevee show? and even if he does, will the irony of the family-values party be exposed or questioned...FUCK NO!

Gravatarthe key point of tristero's post is the connection between fervent anti-abortion opositions and sexual deviancy.

"Senator, have you ever sexually abused your children? Do you have any history of sexual relations with minors? Do your rape fantasies ever get acted out with real people?"

Every single antiabortion candidate should be asked these questions. repeatedly and in public. it would be irresponsible not to speculate.

GravatarHe's Republican, like me.

GravatarAs I said yesterday, if these young women had been properly educated about their reproductive systems, it would not have so easy for this pervert to abuse them. It's all of a piece.

GravatarAw, cmon, the guy just wanted to adopt lots of snowflake babies. So what if the means he used to achieve this noble goal were a bit unconventional?

GravatarWell, at least he was straight.

Sorry...sardonic statement...I am friggin' sick & tired of living here in God's Country, where Men are Mental, and Women are Woeful.

Alas, I allow golden handcuffs to keep me in what is likely the best job I'll ever have.

Guys like this make it really hard to justify remaining here, though.

It was actually not so easy to find your name. Funny, your persona goes better with the name of the guy credited for bass than the guy credited for both bass and keyboards, but I guess that's what happens when you make assumptions based on how people post.....

GravatarWho has created the clear and concise list of offenses that this party has perpetrated since GWB has deemed the Repugs as flawless? I think two lists would be helpful-(anti-) family values and the list of what the neo-cons have done to the Republican party. Concise. Clear. T-shirt material.

GravatarHe looks a lot like Limpballs.

GravatarOrganized religion is one of the props of decaying capitalism, diverting discontent away from the real cause of oppression and poverty—the capitalist system of private property—with the promise of a better life after death.

Hand in hand with the capitalists and landlords, the churches of many persuasions serve to enforce Capitalist morality, to maintain the subjugation of women in the family, to relegate them to the home and exclude them from participation in political and social life.

GravatarI read the PDF yesterday. Jeesus, what a sick fuck.

GravatarOff topic, but I just saw this post on one of my RootsWeb boards:

"Mostly textile mills. Philadelphia was the textile capital of the nation
until after WWII when the government policies and unions destroyed America's industrial base."

UNIONS destroyed the financial base?

I guess this moron thinks things were better when people worked 6 days a week, 12-14 hours a day for peanuts.

They should also be asked their opinion on parental notification for abortion, especially for girls in the foster care system who might be abused by a sicko perverted foster dad, like the Republican in South Dakota.

GravatarLiberals dominate the media....this has been announced by Rush Limbaugh. And Thomas Sowell. And Ann Coulter. And Rich Lowry. Bill O'Reilly. And Robert Novak. And George Will.

And John Gibson. And Michelle Malkin. And David Brooks. And Tony Snow. And Tony Blankely. And Fred Barnes. And Britt Hume. And Larry Kudlow. And Sean Hannity. And David Horowitz. And William Kristol. And Hugh Hewitt. And William Buckley.

And Oliver North. And Joe Scarborough. And Pat Buchanan. And John McLaughlin. And Cal Thomas. And Joe Klein. And James Kilpatrick. And Tucker Carlson. And Deroy Murdock. And Michael Savage. And Charles Krauthammer. And Stephen Moore. And Alan Keyes.

And Gary Bauer. And Mort Kondracke. And Andrew Sullivan. And Nicholas von Hoffman. And Neil Cavuto. And Matt Drudge. And Mike Rosen. And Dave Kopel. And John Caldara. And Deborah Howell. And Richard Morin. And John Harris. And Gordon Liddy. And laura Ingraham.
And Larry Elder. And Tammy Bruce. And Neal Boortz. And FOX DJ ManPal. And Rusty Humphrey. And Laura Schlessinger.

So what if the Administration had to pay Armstrong Williams and Maggie Gallagher to run their script.

The mainstream media in this country are dominated by liberals. Look at how they all gave Bill Clinton a pass on the whole Monica Lewsinsky affair. Remember? It was never in the news. We never heard any of the salacious details.

GravatarGod, this story is sick and sad on so many levels. Definitely the saddest aspect of it is that these girls were apparently both so ill-educated and of such low self-esteem that they would have allowed this fat, disgusting slug to touch them. I remember being that age, and there's no way I would have let something like that touch me. Funny thing is, my family wasn't religious, I knew the basic bits about sex and reproduction, and I remained a virgin until almost 18. Without benefit of being molested by some piety-soaked pervert.

Jean, I was a virgin till I was 21. I had all the information, too.

And, yep, I would not allow a slug like that NEAR me.

I didn't see anyone suggesting that this fat fucker is responsible.

That has nothing to do with the fact that girls who are kept in the dark about sex and reproduction and indoctrinated into thinking of themselves as "vessels" (and really, what better example could you have of the view of women as baby factories than a case of abuse centered around egg "harvesting"?) are many more times likely to be abused by these types of predators.

Information is power. Which is why fat bastard perverts like Klaudt don't want girls to have any.

Iglesias recounts a lunch with politics on the menu
The fired U.S. attorney says he was targeted for not pressing charges that could have helped the GOP.
By Tom Hamburger
LA Times Staff Writer
May 19, 2007
WASHINGTON — Weeks before the 2006 midterm election, then-New Mexico U.S. Atty. David C. Iglesias was invited to dine with a well-connected Republican lawyer in Albuquerque who had been after him for years to prosecute allegations of voter fraud.
"I had a bad feeling about that lunch," said Iglesias, describing his meeting at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen with Patrick Rogers, a lawyer who provided occasional counsel to the New Mexico Republican Party.
When the voter fraud issue came up, Iglesias said, he explained to Rogers that in reviewing more than 100 complaints, he hadn't found any solid enough to justify criminal charges.
Iglesias recounted the episode in an interview with The Times after meeting behind closed doors with federal investigators this week to provide new details of the events leading up to his termination as U.S. attorney. He said he now believed he was targeted because he was seen as slow to bring criminal charges that would have helped GOP election prospects.

The fact that the leader of the WB itself, a man who surely must have wanted for nothing in terms of personal wealth, had his fingers in the till too is just devastating. When it's all said and done, it will be truly breathtaking how masny well-intentioned institutions the evil spawn opf the Bush administration have been able to destoy utterly.

GravatarMarine's last request inspires charity

PHILADELPHIA - Five days before Lance Cpl. Adam C. Conboy was killed in Iraq, he inspired his own memorial fund.

During a Sunday morning phone call from the Anbar province, he described staying 20 men per room in an old schoolhouse, packed into bunk beds in the scorching heat. The stench, he said, was overwhelming.

He asked his mother if she could send clean sheets — 40 sets of them, one for each member of his platoon.

"C'mon Mom, get Operation Bedding going," he joked.

He was killed the next Friday, May 12, 2006, by non-hostile fire. He had been in Iraq eight weeks.

Friends told his mother to expect flowers to start pouring in. "I told people I didn't need flowers," Mary Conboy said. "In lieu of that, I took donations to get the bedding Adam asked for out to the guys."

Operation Bedding has since grown from a son's spontaneous quip to a mother's tribute to her fallen Marine. Mary Conboy runs a homespun charity effort from her backyard, sending troops in Iraq packages that contain everything from bedding to sweat socks to canned tuna.

To these ends I had one of these visions about six months ago and I have been trying to put it out of my mind: but it will not leave. It is disturbing and frightening.

Stories like this one do not help. Just sayin'.

GravatarHere's a feature suggestion for Jeevan: reliability.

Hasn't been a selling point of US products for decades.

GravatarThis IS disturbing - but it might not be possible to ignore.
Consider the bullet: a small metal object less than three inches long. Dense with gun powder and lead - it still weighs only a few ounces.
Consider the gun: a simple metal tube with the interior polished to spin the bullet to keep the trajectory true. A simple trigger to cause the release of the hammer.
Consider the sight: an optical marvel bringing the target - now nearly 800 yards away - close.
A simple act: pulling the trigger loosing the object of death. Flying with a speed much faster than the sound generated by the controlled explosion. . . .
Consider the target: nothing could harm him. He was rich. Everything he desired was his. Nothing could interfere with his conquest. Nothing.
There it was. Just a minute vibration in his jacket pocket. Should he answer? Could he answer? What would happen if he did not answer?
Fingering the ridiculously small buttons on the increasingly absurd little cell phone he held it to his ear and said, “Go.”
“Another one, Sarge.” “Where?”
“Downtown - near the athletic club.”
“Who’s the victim?”
“Robert Johnson?”
“The Robert Johnson?”
“Yep. One and the same.”
“Absolutely - damned fifty caliber rounds leave an ugly corpse - most of his fucking head is gone.”

GravatarI'm trying to pick a book to read on this rainy afternoon.

I'm halfway through a rereading of Niven's Lucifer's Hammer. I always enjoyed end of the world scenarios, but as I'm rereading it, I find it truly horrifying in some respects. Great writing but very chilling.

Gravatarit's not as big a hassle as it sounds.

I haven't even gotten dressed yet, and I'm not gonna. Safe travels, JP.

One Fine Day In The Middle Of The Night

I haven't read that. A farce involving mercenaries and terraists? Sounds like life.

Maybe I'll read Didion's "The Year of Magical Thinking." I've started it twice, but have been scared away.

GravatarTechnical question: how do images get attached to Bookmarks? On my Bookmarks toolbar I have a kitteh for Jeffraham, but have to label the one for Atrios, even though they are both blogspot.com. Does this make sense?

GravatarWell, I'm mystified. My hemoglobin A1C sttod at 14 at diagnosis. Normal is 7; my A1C on 3/23/07
was 6, which indicates I'm doing really controlling my diabetes - BUT - my HDL is 32mg/dl, which is low, my LDL couldn't be measured because my triglycerides are 423 mg/dl - and my TOTAL Cholesterol is 161 mg/dl, well below 200. So whadda I do, shit or go blind?

GravatarTechnical question: how do images get attached to Bookmarks? On my Bookmarks toolbar I have a kitteh for Jeffraham, but have to label the one for Atrios, even though they are both blogspot.com. Does this make sense?

Not all sites have the .ico associated with them. That's something the proprietor does manually.

GravatarLenore: Technical question: how do images get attached to Bookmarks? On my Bookmarks toolbar I have a kitteh for Jeffraham, but have to label the one for Atrios, even though they are both blogspot.com. Does this make sense?

Yep. That's a function of the site author. If they point to a .ico file, you get a custom icon. If not, you get none, or the default one for the host (Blogger's "B," for example).
.

Unofficial advice

HDL goes up with nonprescription niacin. Problem is at a certain point "flushing" occurs which is scary and embarrassing. May want to start low and find where the threshold is.

Generic Gemfibrozil might be an option for the triglycerides.

GravatarI'm going to insert myself into my bed.

GravatarVia TPM, fair and balanced poll questions from Faux News...

GravatarThe way the icon bookmark works, you have to actually use it one time after bookmarking it before the icon appears. THen you go to Properties and can delete the descriptive name, leaving just the icon in teh toolbar.

GravatarI can show you how to insert .icos. For fiddy cent.

Sexist pig!

GravatarOkay, it's difficult for the lay person to cut through all the jargon to get a clear picture on triglycerides, and drug-company-sponsored websites leave me a bit chilled, to say the least.
So far, I've got niacin (Costco has "flushless", I believe) and Omega-3 fatty acids and less saturated fats. Salmon it must be, sounds like!

Gravatarmonica - I have so much to do today.I stayed home the last couple days, and I have a judge coming this afternoon to jury artwork, so there'll be a ton of organising to do. GravatarThen, in yer web page, you need something like this in the [head] tag:

GravatarI got an online poll from Zogby this morning, and he asks if you're proud or ashamed of George W. Bush. Hah, that one was easy to answer. Then he asks if you're proud or ashamed of your country. I wish that had a little more nuance -- I'd say I'm ashamed *for* my country.

I love the country that my immigrant ancestors suffered to get to; I love the country that liberated France and the people in the concentration camps; I love the country that rebuilt Europe after the war; I love the country that slowly but surely keeps expanding civil rights. I'm proud of that country. And I weep for how these bastards have defiled the country I love.

GravatarSpeaking of solitary confinement, here's a comment I left on that Huffington Post cyber-rag in response to an article by some bozo history professor named Jeremi Suri entitled "Why I Love Tony Blair".

It's not worth linking to, but go see for yourself if you wish. Suffice to say that the title is not ironic. My comment:

In short: "I may hate the war crimes, but never the war criminal!"

I am so moved by this thoughtful tribute that I no longer insist on confining The Honorable Poodle to a windowless cell in The Hague like the others. He deserves a small, grated window-- provided it's too high for him to look through directly.

A man of such profound character, intellect, and conscience ought to be able to occupy himself with his weighty and prolific thoughts for the rest of his life without distractions beyond sunlight and a passing bird.

GravatarTony Blair paid a surprise visit to Iraq today, promising ongoing support and insisting there were 'real signs of change and progress' in the country, despite the deadly violence scarring daily life in the capital.

The prime minister promised Britain would remain 'steadfast' in its support for Iraq even after he leaves office next month.

Mr Blair was speaking after discussions on how to push for greater political reconciliation with the country's president, Jalal Talabani, and the prime minister, Nuri al-Maliki.

Millions of Americans are demanding real border security, while our President, Chertoff and the U.S. Commerce Secretary join with open border lobbyists and liberal Senators to cut deals in a smoke-filled back room and give BLANKET AMNESTY to 12 million illegal alien intruders!

Kennedy says President Bush will sign the bill. While McCain keeps hiding his open borders mania from the GOP rank-and-file on the White House campaign trail, he’s behind Ted Kennedy all the way on the illegal alien AMNESTY SELL-OUT. Add Arlen Specter as a RINO leader helping Dems and President Bush push forward an “immigration overhaul” that would grant IMMEDIATE legal status or AMNESTY to virtually all 12 million illegal aliens confirmed to be already in the U.S.—plus countless more to come through on this new welcome mat—and border security is an empty promise!

The battle is on in the Senate!

GravatarTony Blair made an emotional tribute to British troops during his seventh and probably final visit to Iraq as PM.

He told servicemen and women at the British HQ in Basra, southern Iraq, that they were doing "brilliant" work.

Minutes later, two mortars exploded, rocking the building - which typically receives two such attacks a day.

Earlier, Mr Blair also brushed aside mortar attacks on Baghdad's Green Zone just as he arrived. He hailed "signs of change and progress" in Iraq.

Gravatarso joe klein wonders why we think he's a piece of shit and a wanker and he writes idiocies like this: And then there's the libertarian Congressman Ron Paul who seems like your uncle the bartender who has a Big Theory about everything: some of his ideas are brilliant, others weird. He rates a mention because his singular moment of weirdness--proposing that al-Qaeda attacked on Sept. 11 because the U.S. had been messing around in the Middle East, bombing Iraq--offered Giuliani a historic slam dunk. "That's an extraordinary statement," he jumped in when Paul finished, "... that we invited the attack because we were attacking Iraq. I don't think I've ever heard that before, and I've heard some pretty absurd explanations for Sept. 11." There was explosive applause from the audience.

as mediamatters points out - and i already knew - Paul's claim is exactly what the 9/11 report says and as always rudy is dead wrong - and the claphappy wingnuts too. Do these people EVER source their wankery?

GravatarCommander: At least 2 U.S. troops alive

BAGHDAD, Iraq - The top U.S. commander in Iraq thinks he knows who kidnapped three U.S. soldiers last weekend and believes that at least two of them are alive, the Army Times newspaper reported.

"We know who that guy is," Gen. David Petraeus said in an interview posted Saturday on the Army Times Web site. He did not give the man's name but described him as "sort of an affiliate of al-Qaida. He's the big player down in that area. We've tangled with him before."

GravatarMoonboo, you'll have to dig up some ugly relatives and pets just to give us a bit of contrast!

I can't help but think of Terry C's observation that Seity looks the very picture of a Campbell's Soup Kid. (OK, the cartoon version isn't especially flattering, but the comparison stands.)

BTW, in viewing the photos I'm reminded of my older sister-- she was also a very pretty tot, with dark brown hair and eyes. But my Aunt Bettie always used to deplore that my sister "never smiled", and not infrequently my aunt would fuss over my sister as if my sister were some melancholy, abandoned orphan who desperately needed cheering up.

In fact, my sister smiled and laughed about as much as any kid-- maybe more, since she had my comic genius to enjoy once I was old enough to talk! But somehow the camera never caught my sister smiling and laughing. She just looked deadly serious, even deceptively glum, in most snapshots.

I trust that you know better than to be an Aunt Bettie, and don't wring your hands at how serious the poor little thing looks all the time!

GravatarKinda hard to believe that 63 people are just staring at a blank Haloscan screen.

60 of them are NTodd's computers.

GravatarI kind of wish he'd stuck around to see the conservatives lose big in '08 and witness social conservatism ground into crunchy little nuggets.

Wish I had your optimism.

Just as Ashcroft was exchanged for Gonzo, all the badness of Bush will be forgotten with wingnut hopes and media promotion of the new GOP candidate.

Bush will be looked on as "just a bad apple". Nevermind the cast of thousands behind the scenes that will return with the new GOPer.

Think Lucy.. Charlie Brown.. football.

GravatarArmed men in Iraqi military uniforms have killed at least 15 Kurds in the village of Qara Lus near the border with Iran.

The attackers arrived early in the morning and went house to house posing as security forces on a legitimate mission, Brigadier-General Nadhim Sharif, commander of Iraqi border forces in Diyala province, said on Saturday.

He said: "They then searched the houses and ordered the people to leave. They separated men from the women and children and then they shot at the men, killing 13 immediately and two others a little later."

Assuming it lets me post this, I concur.

GravatarDon't know when Brandon Mayfield's challenge to the patriot act will be in court, but I'll bet Gerry Spence is licking his chops. They falsely accused him of the spain train bombing the very day that bush re-authorized his illegal wiretapping, etc....day after the hospital scene.

This adds to my hope. Mayfield has a powerful case.
