GravatarBack from breakers & conversatione -- who's not up yet?

GravatarGood morning.

My but it's stinky downstairs.

Just had a morning cuppa coffee, listened to some very early recordings of Bob Dylan's radio appearances, and now Mrs. Gummo has put the first Billy Bragg/Wilco Woody Guthrie album on the ol' stereo.

What's up with you all?

Gravatar"who's not up yet?"

GravatarPrior!

Sorry we didn't get a chance to speak last weekend, but I think we did at least say hello Friday night, no?

GravatarA: Unlike WWI, the Iraq was has had a net negative effect on the economy. This is for several reasons. First, the money that we spend every month goes largely to operational costs (fuel, laundry, cooking, transportation, repairs ) much of which is performed by sub-contractors from the Phillipines, Nepal and other countries. So in effect, the dollars spent do not have any positive return for the US economy. Second, because we have borrowed all the money to fight the war, largely from abroad, we have added to the deficit and to the national debt, which means we have to pay more interest and adds a burden onto the economy. Third, the war has contributed to the increase in oil prices, which of course take money out of the hands of consumers, and lower business margins, and transfer it to the oil producers.

GravatarWhat exactly does the EPA do? http://ecoarts.blogspot.com/2008...oes-epa- do.html

GravatarOK. We're all going to die anyway:
http://www.lhcconcerns.com/

GravatarSpeaking of the EPA-they are a joke!
After 9-11 they were telling everyone that the air was fine. I know that to be false since my husband worked for ConEdison the power company in Manhattan. All Con Ed workers were told to get out of the area for their own protection since the companys air readings were indicating high levels of asbestos. The news kept telling the public how the levels were near or close to normal and it was safe for the rescue workers according to the EPA. What bunch of BS!
