Josh Marshall has recently fallen into the bad habit of asserting things he can't prove, including baseless or unsupported assertions like this one:
A very revealing moment. For the first time the president was asked, now that all the legal stuff is over and there's nothing more pending, whether he was disappointed in the fact that a number of his top advisors were responsible for revealing the name of a covert CIA operative.
He couldn't even manage a perfunctory statement of disappointment or regret. He managed to slip in a dig at Rich Armitage, a general statement that the whole thing had been very rough on the White House staff and that now "we're" moving on.
Needless to say, the president was involved from day one. He was always in favor of doing it. And he basically said so again today. Truly a shameful man.
Note the leap to the conclusion that "the president was involved from day one" and "was always in favor of doing it [outing Valerie Plame]". Nothing Bush said today supports that claim, nor is there evidence in the public record that can back up either of those statements.

Things that make ya' think:
Mr. Rove said he long ago lost his only copy of the campaign platform. But he said he was not surprised that the document had turned up in the Nixon files.
“When you send something to a White House person,” he said, ‘’it tends to be collected and remain.”
It does?
So what happened to your stuff Karl?

congrats to zap and gwpda.
also some good things coming my way this month. for the first time, after being tantalizingly close so many times in the past, our biz account went beyond a 30k balance.
it's a small thing, and largely symbolic because the number itself doesn't mean much, but it became a frustrating barrier i could never get over...and to make things even better, had a couple more checks come in for services rendered before we cashed payroll today, it would have topped 40k.
and my brother found a 10G ipod today at a yard sale for $10. things are looking up, perhaps..
off to make a tiramisu....

I have to admit, I knew my patience with the little unmentionable I worked for at Lvn had snapped when I wondered out loud (in the presence of some nicely brought up companions) "who his people were..." Spurn not the nobly born
With love affected,
Nor treat with virtuous scorn

High rank involves no shame —

I mean, if I see a handful of male UNC grads drinking in a bar, I don't immediately think, "OOooh, that looks exclusive, I hope they let me join."
These guys don't exactly sound like Skull and Bones here. Not that I'm defending the more elite version of exclusivity, I am just seeing that at least that's comprehensible, and this is not.

One thing I despise about some sites I've visited is that certain websites won't, quite literally, allow you to leave it. I've clicked on the "back" icon frantically trying to go back to the website (Eschaton in this case) that linked me. I had to type Atrios' site into the window to get back. I just didn't expect Wonkette to be one of those websites that have a "you can check in, but you can't check out" policy.
It's annoying, and makes me much, much, much less likely to click on a link leading to it in the future.
And I still have no clue why Atrios linked to it-must be a Washington Dc area thing.
