I have a great deal of respect for the courage and integrity of Jehovah Witnesses. Holding to their ideas and ideals put them in the concentration camps along with the Jews, Gypsies, and Poles. I also know quite a few who did prison time during 'Nam rather than accept a C.O. status. They are one group of principled folks. I would rather that the world be full of them than these contemporary fundies.

And I agree with you and Greenwald about the huge disparity between the media delving into the Clintons' private life and the free-pass given to George W. Bush. Granted, the Bush family (primarily Poppa Bush) spent a lot of time and money into burying all the things that little Georgie did during his drunken years, beginning with when he went AWOL from the Texas Air National Guard, but when reputable people (like Mrs. Knox on Dan Rather's program) came forward and confirmed some of the worst about George W. Bush, the right-wing media chose to cover-up for George W. Bush instead of digging, digging, digging.
This is why this Cindy McCain "expose" smells so much, especially with it getting front-page NY Times coverage. If one thinks about it, this is throwing red meat to the right-wingers just as if the NY Times were running some Clinton "expose" just before a major election. Anything to keep from remaining focused on the issues.
