Not everyone can rely on a press inquiry to fix things.
Almost no one can.

One of our more illustrious and frequent posters told me that when I said I was worried about my son's friends. (And their parents - my friends)

This pales into insignificance compared to the problems of a congressperson who must maintain a primary residence in his/her district and a secondary residence in DC.... Or how 'bout the poor media folk who must maintain their vacation homes as well as their primary residences? Oh, the horror!

"You need to understand that Paul Ehrlich didn't want you people here to begin with. So, going forward, please don't eat so much pate, go light on your osso bucco, and smoke twice as much as you do now..."

The message is clear:
As the home foreclosure crisis sweeps across America, military and financial aid groups say they are hearing from a rising number of troops who say they are falling behind on their mortgage payments
If you volunteer for Bush’s good buddy oil war than you’re a stupid entitlement crybaby that deserves NOTHING. Bush cares as little about Iraq war veterans as he did the people in the towers of 9/11.
Bush doesn't cover his ass, and the media doesn't make him responsible for ANYTHING EVER. It why Murdock should be reintroduced to Australia, because he has no loyality to Americans, not other than lying too them and rip them off.

An interesting wrinkle to this is that having declared personal bankruptcy is considered a significant negative in getting and maintaining a security clearance.
As a result, personnel with clearances, and for whom bankruptcy would be a sensible option because of the meltdown, are instead doing risky things like paying their now-even-higher mortgages with money obtained via credit card cash advances. While this compounds (pardon the pun) the difficulty from a financial well-being standpoint, the feeling is that this is better than having a clearance yanked, which could be devastating.

Can you imagine Bush and all his friends trying to deal with these issues? They would be hiring those god awful lawyers (you know, the ones who can't be allowed to defend women who are being screwed financially, or anyone who had been harmed by a medical device). Those cons would be making those lenders go to jail, do not pass go.

Q: Is this the "Homeland" or the "Fatherland"? Hint:It is the land of the tards who do nothing but move money around.
A: If your a father with a home it's neither.

I'm a tad confused by all of these stories recently on this topic. According to my memory from back in the day the vast majority of families in the military live in base housing. Not only is/was it difficult to make the pay in the military necessary for purchasing a house but the base housing itself is affordable. How did all these military families find themselves buying houses? How could they possibly have though they could get themselves involved in houses when everyone knows they will be likely moving posts within 3-5 years?
This is all so strange.
