Sweetest Mother's Day evah. Son, nieces, nephew went in a flower-cutting frenzy, delivered many bouquets to all the moms.
Son, 10, decided to cut some flowers for a "special (girl) friend" at school. I suggested that he put the flowers in the fridge until tomorrow morning. Hours later, I found the flowers in the freezer.
Luckily, the peonies out back are just starting to bloom & he can cut some in the morning.

We didn't get a tornado but got some wild winds. Looked out the back door and discover big limb from our maple tree been snapped off and apparently drove itself into to ground like a spear. Looks like something from "The Omen".

My mom died a couple of years ago. She'd just had a major colorectal procedure, when an aneurysm of her abdominal aorta ruptured and she refused to go back into the OR. Maybe two years in declining health before then. They could have saved her life, maybe nine times out of ten, in that situation. But she'd have been frailer, maybe shot kidneys, who the hell knows whether she was right or not.
Miss her, I do, as do my kids. She'd have been eighty.
